Lumia 720 3,5 headphone jack

Hi there
Just got my Lumia 720 - what a nice phone!
But is i a feature, that when a headphone jack is press all the way in, the sound is just mono? to get stereo i need to unplug it by 2-4 mm?
do i need to visit the store again or is it a feature of innovation?

Are you referring to just to enclosed WH-108 or all headsets with 3.5mm plug?

I have noticed more than one time that if I plug in My standard headphones (Superlux HD381, just usual headphones ment to be used whit players and as in-ear monitors in studio, they doesnt include any microphone or any other bells and whisles) before I run standart music player, the music is beeing played back on back speaker as no headphones was detected. When I replug them while music player is running or if i run music player before I plug in headphones everithing is fine.

Lumia 720 - Defective Audio Jack and Random Reboot...

I purchased a Lumia 720 from Amazon.com in the US. After about a month, sound was only coming from one headphone. I thought it just might have been my headphones, but then I tried them in a friends phone and they worked fine. Other headphones didn't work either unless it was over Bluetooth. I have also been experiencing freezing and random reboots. A friends factory reset it for me several times and the issues still persist.
I need to send it in for repair; I did verify that it is in-warranty.

most of the new music phones support this,you can buy an adapter also and the newer phones now come with the adapter anyway

yes Dolby Headphone sound enhancements is available for the 720, the only model that this is not present on is the 520. No, there is no native video calling thru FFC support on WP8, you will need to use an app such as Skype. Yes, i have Asphalt 7 installed on my 920 and it works fine (btw, Asphalt 7 and a few other games were updated recently to work with 512MB RAM devices such as the 520, 620 etc).
if you are looking to upgrade to a Nokia Lumia WP8 device, coming from Symbian, you won't be disappointed.

Big issue with Nokia Lumia 720, people calling can't hear a thing.
It has been 9 days since I raised this request and a month since I first turned my phone in for service. Completely frustrated with your service. I demand that you take back the phone and refund and compensate me for the inconvenience you have caused me.

I purchased a new Nokia Lumia 720(Serial No: 357297054233805) from Croma in Bengaluru a couple of months back. Within two months of purchasing the phone, there was an issue with the ringer. When someone called, I would hear no ringing at all. When I played music on the speakers, there was no sound. I didn't expect this in the least from such an expensive Nokia phone.
When I gave the phone to Nokia Care centre in Bengaluru (Ms Silk Technologies Marathalli), they fixed the ringer the next day, but managed to get scratches on the back panel and introduced an issue with the volume controls. Now even when I reduced volume to 0 sometimes I could still hear the music play on the speakers or headphone. After having waited an hour and a half, they asked me to leave the phone with them saying they will replace the back panel and fix the volume issues.
I had to go back multiple times to Nokia care, leaving my phone and being without a replacement handset for days.
I had called the Nokia contact centre number and raised an issue and requested that you replace the handset. However after days of patient waiting, the response from you was dismal.
Ms Silk Technologies (Nokia care) called me the other day to inform that the phone was fixed again. They couldn't tell me what had gone wrong or how the issues were fixed. They simply said the volume issue is fixed and the back panel is replaced.
When I reached the centre, I had to wait for an hour again before they handed me the phone.
They had replaced the volume panel to fix the volume issue.
However, instead of replacing the back panel, they had replaced the touch screen instead!!!
Why replace a good, original working touch screen???????
They then asked me to wait and proceeded to replace the back panel.
When I tested the phone again, I found that there was a defect in the touch screen they had replaced.
They made me wait some more time before replacing the touch screen again. I don't understand why they replaced a good touch screen in the first place.
Again I could detect faint marks on the back panel where they had tried to remove the touch screen. They told me they have to manually lift the touch screen from the back panel and that only your factory had equipment which could neatly detach the touch screen from the back panel. What nonsense is this!!
While waiting at the service centre, I managed to speak to quite a few people around there who had issues with Lumia 720 phones. Clearly, you have some major issues with this handset.
It was quite late in the evening before I was finally handed the phone.
Please note, I now have a phone which is not even a couple of months old but which has the the following parts replaced
-. ringer
-. touch screen
-. back panel
-. volume controls
Clearly this was a faulty piece that was sold to me requiring replacement of so many parts. Instead of replacing all these parts Nokia should simply have replaced the faulty handset.
However I still decided to take the phone.
Next day when I started receiving calls, people calling me complained they could hardly hear me and I could hear a good amount of static noise. I had to speak up real loud or even call them back. Further after some time, I was not able to hear anything when someone called. Can you imagine my horror.
Somehow after restarting the phone, I was able to hear when someone called. However people are still complaining sometimes they can hardly hear me and I continue to hear the static sound.
I'm completely frustrated at this point. I complained to Ms Silk Technologies and their response was that I leave the phone with them again.
Thanks but no thanks, I have been running behind them and you since 3rd Dec. I can't afford to waste more time running between work and nokia care.
The decent thing for Nokia to do at this point is to refund my money and take back the phone.
I'm completely frustrated with this experience. I had expected a much more robust phone from Nokia, alas that has not been the case.

Unfortunately it is not possible to handle refunds or complaints via this forum. You need to contact Nokia directly in your country and submit a complaint about the service you received from the care centre.

Nokia lumia 720 8.1 giving problems

Fm radio not working in my lumia 720

My phone in nokia Lumia 720. In the music and video there is fm radio app but when I trying to open which after connecting headphone , it can not tune any station and hence only noise in hear.. Is how I fix it? Is it software problem or hardware????

When did the issue begin to start to happen? Were you able to listen to a music or video using your headset? Have you tried to use another headset? What are the fixes that you have done so far to resolve the issue?
Make sure that the headset is properly inserted into the headset port as it will serve as the antenna. Also try to use another headset for us to isolate the issue.
In the meantime, connect your headset to your phone, go to Music+Videos > Radio > Tap and hold anywhere on the screen, select Settings > Select your region. If your region is not listed, you may select "World". If it will not work, reboot your phone by pressing and holding both the volume down and the power keys until it vibrates. Then, try again.
Let us know the outcome.

Lumia 720 Call Drop

Hi All,
I live in dubai I have bought Lumia 720 two handsets, the Mobile seller cut the sim and put into my phone. Now the issue is i normally see 2-3 bars of network signals. Sometime the call drops automatically and when I see the signal strenght at that particular moment it shows one bar of signal.
I have tried to change the network setting to manual converted to 2G and even tried to use the SIM in other lumia 720 but same issue. For the sake of test i put my SIM in as samsung low end phone and the signal strength remains full without any issue.
Can you please advise how to resolve this issue!

A week into the phone and it has to visit a Service Center.
How sure can one be that it is a Hardware Problem and not a software problem? Because the whole day today, I had no issues talking on the phone.
I'll try tonight and see what has to be done.
A point to be added, when using the headphones, I don't have any problems whatsoever.

Lumia 720 : mono or stereo?

I have Lumia 720. Here's my problem. When I plugged my headset, the output seemed to be mono, not stereo. I checked with the same headset and the same song on my pc and the output was stereo. Another audio setting on my lumia are working properly, like the equalizer and dolby experience. Is my lumia getting a problem here?

hi mate, have you checked that you are fully up to date with the latest firmware for your device, and that you have all the latest Nokia system app updates from the Store? also check that you are pushing the earphones all the way into the headset jack on the phone properly, and try performing a soft reset.

ITunes no longer keeps speakers running on headphone jack

iTunes no longer keeps my external speakers running when connected by audio cable to the headphones jack. After 1:45 min:sec, my Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere 2 speakers power down when connected to my computer playing iTunes.
The speakers do not power down for audio generated from other sources on my computer. When I play a video or audio file through Safari or another browser, the speakers work fine. When I listen to an audio file by selecting it in the Finder using Apple-Y ("quick-view"), the speakers run continuously until the end of the track without powering down. When I use the speakers configured the same way with other software (such as Skype), they work fine.
The speakers do not power down for audio generated from other DEVICES. When I plug the speaker cable into the headphone jack of either my iPhone 3Gs or my partner's mp3 player and play audio, the speakers work continuously.
I've looked at trouble-shooting for iTunes and found nothing on the Apple site or the web or in the iTunes preferences to keeping wire external speakers live during iTunes playback. I've tried having the speakers connected to a power source or running on batteries but the problem is the same. I've reset the speaker device with no change. I've reinstalled iTunes, no change. The Apple Store genius bar cleared all caches and restarted, no change. They reinstalled the computer system, but found no change.

Headphone Jack No Longer Works

Does anyone know of headphones that may plug into the bottom outlet of the iPod, where it connects usually to stereo equipment. My iPod still works with this connection, to charge it, to listen on my computer, on my stereo but the headphone jack no longer works so I can't use it in my car or at other times.

Ok I just talked to headroom and with this adapter you can go directly to a set of headphones or to one of their amps. Additionally the pin connector provides improved sound quality over the cheap headphone jack that comes stock on the ipod.

IPhone 4 headphone jack not working right.

So the headphone jack in my iPhone 4 i don't think is working properly. The right headphone does not put as much sound out as the left. I'm not sure why it was working perfectly just yesterday. I haven't dropped it or got water in it or anything. I tried plugging it in and unplugging it a few times, i reset my phone, turned it off then on and nothing seems to be working. Its not on silent and the volume thing is centered. Idk what could e happening. Help!!!

I would test the headset in another device such as a computer
and test another 3.5mm minijack headset in the phone to tell if it's the phone or headset

Is there a way to disable the headphone jack?

A few months ago my macbook pro 2012 (non retina) fell and the headphone jack was destroyed in the process, and the sound on my internal speakers no longer work. The apple genius said that the only way to get my headphones and speakers working again would be to replace the logic board. What I'm wondering is if there's a command to type into the terminal that would just bypass the headphone jack entirely so that I could at least get sound through my speakers. Like I said, there's no hope of saving my headphone jack so I don't need advice about how to re-enable it. I'm hoping for a command for terminal to disable the headphone jack so that I can hear sound through my internal speakers. Help?

Well you have to take a break, sleep, etc sometime! The repair may take just a few minutes.
Your other option would be search on the Fixit website and YouTube's "how to tutorials."
