Lumia 720/520 Availabilty and Price in Singapore, ...

All the news articles about Lumia 720 and 520 say that the phones will be available first in Singapore, Vietnam and Hong Kong in Q1/March 2013 - which would mean, well, right now.
The Nokia's Singapore & Vietnam web sites already display information about these 2 models, but have no mention about the price or whether they are actually on sale in their countries' stores already. The Hong Kong web site still has not update.
Anyone know if the actual phones are already on sale in stores in those countries and what are the prices?

The phones are not on sale,they are not even released,for pricing and info check with local operators.

You can try to perform the soft reset again. If this would fail, below hardware key reset combination is what I can suggest. This deletes all the personal content of the phone.
Option 2: Hardware key combination
Use this option if the phone fails to fully switch on when pressing the power on key.
Note: No warning about data loss!

Step 1
Make sure the charger is disconnected.
1. Switch the power Off.
2. Press and hold the Volume down and connect the charger, if succeed an exclamation mark (!) is shown on the screen.

Then input the keys in the following order:
1. Volume up

4. Volume down
Step 3
The phone will reset and boot up automatically. Please note that this may take several minutes.

Lumia 720 - screen feeze and keypad issues

Hi,
My lumia 720 has for a for a while now started to freeze when doing anything! Initially the phone seems to do weird things like the keypad pops up and srarts typing randomly then after a second or two the screen will just freeze and will not respond to anything. I have to press the lock screen button to lock the phone then unlock it to be able to use my phone again. Initially the problem only occurred once every week but now it happens every few minutes and is becoming untolerable. I really need to get this issue fixed! Has anyone come across the same issue and got it resolved. Nokia please help!

Sorry to hear this. Here are the troubleshootings that we can do on your phone:
1. Restart your phone.
Press and hold the Power and Volume Down keys simultaneously for 10-15 seconds. Release and the phone will restart. If the problem persists, reset and restore your phone as instructed below.
* Just a quick reminder, doing the reset will wipe off everything that you have on the phone. In case the phone is not responding anymore to anything, we can't do anything to save them. However, if your Windows Live account is signed in on the phone, your contacts, pictures and videos will be synchronized to it.
2. Reset and restore your phone.
Important: This erases all personal content on your phone and restores the factory settings.
Make sure your phone’s battery level is above 50%. To check the remaining battery life, go to Settings > battery saver > battery info. If you are not able to check it, or the level is too low, charge your phone for at least 20 minutes.
Switch off your phone, and disconnect the charger.
Press and hold the volume down key, and connect the charger. An exclamation mark (!) is shown on the screen.
Press the keys in the following order: volume up, volume down, power, and volume down. Your phone resets, and boots up. This may take several minutes.
3. Update your phone software
You may not be using the most recent software for your phone.
To check if there is new software available for your phone, on the start screen, swipe left, and tap Settings > phone update > check for updates.

Lumia 720 lock button and volume up button not wor...

MY lumia 720 has gone useless. The volume up button stopped working some 4 months before, and God's grace the new 8.1 update helped, even though the button doesnt work now. From 2 weeks the lock button has also stopped working and now its completely stuck. Now calls keep coming, but unable to answer anything or make it silent, as it is stuck and cant even do anything. I will never recommend any one a Nokia phone in future.
Please some one suggest me a way to restart my phone with out using lock key.
P.S: Nokia:: please restart manufacturing nokia 1100, as it is far better than a useless smart phone.

It is possible to fix many phone problems yourself in a few minutes – including phone freezes, application crashes, sound problems and a blank display. To save yourself time, try these three fixes.
1. Restart your phone
If the phone hardware is jammed, you should first try restart your phone. This does not reset the Microsoft Account (Windows Live ID) or remove any consumer data.
Option 1: To perform the power reset for phones with integrated battery (phone has a special electronic circuit which switches off the power when the key combination is pressed):
Switch the power On (if possible) and disconnect the charger.
Press the Volume Down + Power Key and hold them for 15 seconds.
You will feel vibration.
The phone will reset and boot up automatically.
Option 2: To perform power reset for phones with removable battery:
Remove the battery and reinsert it.
Boot up the phone normally.
2. Update the software

Over used micro usb cable (lumia 720, 820, 925, et...

i find myself connecting my lumia's cable to my pc atleast once or twice a day to either charge or sync my fone.
just curious, wont the micro usb port of the fone become loose (loose contact) over-time too soon, since it uses a common interface for charging as well as syncing to pc?
i guess our fones are still too new to worry about that. but just a thought from yours truly.
typically for lumia 720, 820, 925, and the like.. who's got no (or optional) wireless charging option... any thoughts?

It could be a concern to have the USB port wear out prematurely with over-use or constantly connecting and disconnecting the cable. Hopefully, Nokia have taken this into consideration when designing the phones and have used a robust and good quality USB port.
For me, I tend to do most of my synchronising via Skydrive and charging using my QI charging plate so as to avoid using the USB port as much as possible.

Freezing Lumia 720

Dears, on internet is many question about of freezing Lumia (720). Microsoft and Nokia have gained my trust with this phone (system). Ok, i have few apps on my phone. My phone froze last month two times. My girlfriend bought new phone, windows phone. After 7 days came first problem, same as in my phone. What can i do? Throw the phone out the window? Please do not write me back information how can i reset this phone. This is not important for me. I want information about solving this problem. Now i look like an idiot for my girlfriend, when i recommended her this mobile system. Microsoft officially nothing, Nokia officially nothing....maybe it was the last money for this group from me.

Hello..i recently bought Lumia 720 and within a month it started hanging...!! it had been to nokia care once wit os reinstalled but no use..after 2 days it started hanging again..i have limited apps in my phone..i tried ALL types of RESET..but no use.. So what will be my further steps...?? is there any hardware issues like touch screen defect..?? i dont belive this hang is due to less RAM.. i ve read all issues related to hangs..but none helped.. Support for Lumia 720,820,520,620

Hi,
I do understand that lumia 720 is year old device. But you haven't yet run any promotional offers for the device. Like in case of 525,1020, 1520 and 625 etc you had Gameloft games or Vouchers for buying apps.
However this isn't in the case for 620,520,720,820 etc.
Also I volume button doesn't work anymore. Every time I goto the service center / Nokia care, they don't have parts available apparently. This HURTS.
This has been going on for a month or so. Why is this happening?
Can I get some INFO?

The reason is that Windows Phone devices, including the Lumia 520, does not support native Java.

Lumia 720 and RAM size

Dear All;
I was quite happy when I heared about Lumia 720 which was matching my requirement in terms of dimentions, weight and battery, but it was a shock for me to know the RAM is only 512??!!!!!!
I'm concerned about the performance and the future support for WP8. Will such small RAM be sufficient for the phone to perform without any lags??? ant what about the future support for WP8 as microsoft stated very clearly in their website that some apps and fetures will require 1 GB RAM, see link below (end of the page)

Well, it's good to see you are still here then.. That said, could you elaborate on what 'one of those' means and why you think that would suit you better? What we have now is 'Would having 512MB RAM be an issue' to which the answer basically is no, except you may not be able to use some of the more resource hungry apps like some games. It will not in any way prevent the phone from everyday use.
We would assume you refer to Android phones and in the same price range you'll get a decent mid range phone but not with a feature set the 720 offers. That said if you prefer that, that's perfectly fine and all the best with that, but so far it would seem you reason and decide based on specs alone which would IMO be not the best way to choose your weapon of choice.

Lumia 720: Power and camera button act weird

Hi,
My Nokia Lumia 720 is acting weird.
The camera button doesn't work and so does the power button.
However if I press the volume down and the power button simultaneously the button does work.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
I've already brought the phone back to the default settings.
I'm running the latest developer preview if that matters.

Lumia 720 black- OS update issue and Apps download...

I am using Lumia 720 Black, Everythings seems to be oky, but I cannot download apps from store, though I congfigured my Microsoft account. Nor I am able to download new software updates.

• What exactly happens when you download them?
• Is there any error message or code?
• Which connection are you using? Wi-Fi or cellular data? Do you have a stable internet connection?
• Were you able to browse any websites or access any internet-based apps using your phone?
For the software update issue:
• Where are you located? See: Software Update for Nokia Lumia with Windows Phone 8 to know the Lumia Cyan update availability in your country.
• What's the current OS version and firmware revision number of your phone?
• Any error message or code when checking for an update?

Lumia 720 Jumping and Vibration issue.

Hi, my Lumia 720, bought 10 days back is automatically vibrating and jumping between windows, to bing and home screen, and stopping at app switcher screen or home screen, and touch stops working(display and 3 keys). It works only after I press power on/off. Initially its occurance was less frequent but now its more often. Did reset, contacted nokia care and they reinstalled the OS. Yet, its happening. Please advise on this.

My Lumia 720 which I bought recently suffers from a strange behaviour. It starts vibrating suddenly, wildly and on its own without any provocation and after jumping several screens in quick succession, stops at Bing. This activity lasts anywhere from 10 seconds to half a minute. During this time, everything that I have been doing, attending a call, writing email or whatever, stops and after this forced interruption, I am forced to go to Bing. I have tried various steps like setting Display+touch settings to normal ( from high) and stopped Bing from operating on its own, but the problem continues. Is it a hardware or oftware issue? I have also seen that there are several users experiencing this problem and reporting this issue for quite sometime. In any case, Nokia should be aware of this and issuing the approrpiate patch to correct this situation. I wonder, Is anybody at Nokia listening?
