Lumia 720 and RAM size

Dear All;
I was quite happy when I heared about Lumia 720 which was matching my requirement in terms of dimentions, weight and battery, but it was a shock for me to know the RAM is only 512??!!!!!!
I'm concerned about the performance and the future support for WP8. Will such small RAM be sufficient for the phone to perform without any lags??? ant what about the future support for WP8 as microsoft stated very clearly in their website that some apps and fetures will require 1 GB RAM, see link below (end of the page)

Well, it's good to see you are still here then.. That said, could you elaborate on what 'one of those' means and why you think that would suit you better? What we have now is 'Would having 512MB RAM be an issue' to which the answer basically is no, except you may not be able to use some of the more resource hungry apps like some games. It will not in any way prevent the phone from everyday use.
We would assume you refer to Android phones and in the same price range you'll get a decent mid range phone but not with a feature set the 720 offers. That said if you prefer that, that's perfectly fine and all the best with that, but so far it would seem you reason and decide based on specs alone which would IMO be not the best way to choose your weapon of choice.

Lumia 720 UPGRADE RAM there is no enjoyment in 512 ram no games no function so can nokia UPGRADE RAM till 1 gb

Lumia 720 and ipad don,t pair

Why don't Lumia 720 and ipad pair via Bluetooth? My ipad says that "this device is not supported"? I heard the same problem with Lumia 820. I'm very disappointed.

What are you trying to do? Bluetooth in Windows Phone will not support a constant (streaming) pair for things like file transfers. You can use the Objext Exchange profile for that.
Be a bit more precise on what you are trying to do. If the iPad has proper Bluetooth support it should pair and accept a transmitted file if you start this on the phone (share a file through Bluetooth)

SWAP space and RAM size

Hi all,
However there is no specific measurement for providing SWAP space,there is a ganeral rule says that "SWAP space must be twice the amount of RAM"...Why this specific value(twice of RAM)..Why it cant be the thrice amount? May i know what is the reason for telling this rule?

The minimum requirement should be twice the size of RAM.This is because when a core dump occurs the whole active process avaulable in RAM will be written as a core file .the file will be initially written in the swap.The swap has to hold the full amount of memory and inturn swap will also have some files active.So as a minimum requirement you should have twice the amount of RAM as Swap Space.If you have a high storage and you dont know what to do give to to swap,No issue in that.

Lumia 720 and Skype problems

Hello there,
I keep on having problems with brand new 720 an Skype app. It does not happen everytime, but:
- I'm able to freeze the device just by making few calls (ie. to test service).
- sometimes also anwering a call breaks: voice is active but phone screen shows black screen with "Loading..." text.
Anyone else experiencing similar problems ?

Welcome to the forum!
You can try the following tips:
1. Close any running applications in the background that requires internet connection. This can also be one of the reasons why the phone freezes.
2. Make sure you have a stable connection to avoid disruption of calls and showing the black screen with "Loading..." text.
If the above mentioned tips didn't help, you can also try pressing and holding both the volume down button and the power key for 10 seconds to reset your phone. Note that your files are safe while doing this.

Lumia 720/520 Availabilty and Price in Singapore, ...

All the news articles about Lumia 720 and 520 say that the phones will be available first in Singapore, Vietnam and Hong Kong in Q1/March 2013 - which would mean, well, right now.
The Nokia's Singapore & Vietnam web sites already display information about these 2 models, but have no mention about the price or whether they are actually on sale in their countries' stores already. The Hong Kong web site still has not update.
Anyone know if the actual phones are already on sale in stores in those countries and what are the prices?

Freezing Lumia 720

Dears, on internet is many question about of freezing Lumia (720). Microsoft and Nokia have gained my trust with this phone (system). Ok, i have few apps on my phone. My phone froze last month two times. My girlfriend bought new phone, windows phone. After 7 days came first problem, same as in my phone. What can i do? Throw the phone out the window? Please do not write me back information how can i reset this phone. This is not important for me. I want information about solving this problem. Now i look like an idiot for my girlfriend, when i recommended her this mobile system. Microsoft officially nothing, Nokia officially nothing....maybe it was the last money for this group from me.

Hello..i recently bought Lumia 720 and within a month it started hanging...!! it had been to nokia care once wit os reinstalled but no use..after 2 days it started hanging again..i have limited apps in my phone..i tried ALL types of RESET..but no use.. So what will be my further steps...?? is there any hardware issues like touch screen defect..?? i dont belive this hang is due to less RAM.. i ve read all issues related to hangs..but none helped.. MacBook Pro 17" Hard Drive and RAM suggestions

Hi, I want to but the new 17" MacBook Pro with 3.06GHz processor.
I am still unsure whether to choose 4GB or 8GB RAM as well as whether to choose SSD or HDD.
This MacBook will be used to develop iPhone apps, so I would want to have it speedy. On the other hand, I do not want to pay very much extra to get a slight noticeable improvement in speed. What I mean by this is that if 4GB of RAM is more than enough to develop apps then I will most likely not see a huge difference between having 8GB or 4GB of RAM.
I would appreciate to hear some opinions about both SSD and RAM size and whether it is wise to upgrade considering current prices.

For what you described you want to do, 4GB RAM is plenty, and a fast 7200 RPM drive is fine. As for the anti-glare, if you don't want the distraction of sometimes having to see light sources behind you or reflections, get the anti-glare. The glass/glossy screen has more vibrant colors and deeper blacks, but you will get some reflection some time. Your eyes learn to ignore that quite quickly, but some people don't like it.
Unless you're doing heavily intensive app development, and maybe doing video/audio, 8GB is not worth it, and the SSD is even more not worth it. iPhone apps are not that demanding in terms of pure power.

Lumia 720 volume down button not working

Hey buddies, I'm using lumia 720 and often i get this volume down button not working.
I changed the button by giving it in nokia care for 3times and still im facing the same problem.
And also noticed that this is happening to most of the lumia 720's.
so kindly look into it and rectify the problem as soon as possible.
If there is any solution for this, kindly reply me.

Your only solution would be to return the unit back to nokia care for inspection,if there is a recurring issue with this im sure nokia would be aware of it now,and it could be a slight manufacturing defect which again would be looked into.

Lumia 720 vibration too too low

I have a LUMIA 720 and its simply awesome.
But I have an issue.
When in office, I usually put my phone on virbation only. Now if I put my phone on the desk, the vibration is so so so so damn low I can hardly feel it, only when the phone is in hand I can feel the vibration else I keep missing calls.
Is there a way to increase the vibration intensity? I just keep missing calls

I had the same problem with my Lumia 920 and it's now in Nokia Care hands to solve it (second time, because they fixed the GPS issue first and didn't do anything about the vibration).

Nokia mix radio /store not visible Lumia 720 India

I have recently bought Lumia 720 and when I am trying to find mix radio or nokia music store under nokia music; it's just not showing up. Is the service not available in India and if so; when will it be available or there is some problem with my device? Thanks in advance for your response.

Mix radio is available in India. May we know if you are using a local SIM card? If yes, you may try to re-insert the SIM card and then check it again. Does your Nokia account's country/region set in India? To verify this, log in to your account through this link:
https://account.nokia.com/
Please make sure that the phone's country/region is set in India as well. If it's different, try to change it and then reboot your phone.

How's the phone now? Are you still unable to get full network signal? Does this happen regardless of your location? Aside from the recommendations given previously, have you checked if there's a difference setting the Network selection from "automatic" to "manual" or vice versa? It can be done by going to Settings > cellular+SIM > SIM settings > Network selection. If it didn't help, you can try other troubleshooting steps found below:

Always showing online on Facebook using Lumia 720

I bought a Lumia 720 and it is always showing me in online even though i am not in online how to fix this issue

In People > (tap your avatar/image) you can change your chat status for the phone. Whether or not this will work depends on a number of factors outside the phone's control.
Tap set chat status to chage your status. This would only affect the status for social media accounts linked to your Microsoft account.

Nokia Lumia 720 suddenly shuts down

Hello everyone ! I have recently got a lumia 720 and I'm experiencing a major problem: it shuts down randomly (one time in 2-3 days) and I have to press turn on button + down volume to turn it on ! What I'm supposed to do with that problem ?
