Lumia 720 Jumping and Vibration issue.

Hi, my Lumia 720, bought 10 days back is automatically vibrating and jumping between windows, to bing and home screen, and stopping at app switcher screen or home screen, and touch stops working(display and 3 keys). It works only after I press power on/off. Initially its occurance was less frequent but now its more often. Did reset, contacted nokia care and they reinstalled the OS. Yet, its happening. Please advise on this.

My Lumia 720 which I bought recently suffers from a strange behaviour. It starts vibrating suddenly, wildly and on its own without any provocation and after jumping several screens in quick succession, stops at Bing. This activity lasts anywhere from 10 seconds to half a minute. During this time, everything that I have been doing, attending a call, writing email or whatever, stops and after this forced interruption, I am forced to go to Bing. I have tried various steps like setting Display+touch settings to normal ( from high) and stopped Bing from operating on its own, but the problem continues. Is it a hardware or oftware issue? I have also seen that there are several users experiencing this problem and reporting this issue for quite sometime. In any case, Nokia should be aware of this and issuing the approrpiate patch to correct this situation. I wonder, Is anybody at Nokia listening?

Hi,
i bought lumia 720 on 7-7-2013, after 2 days while using some apps, the screen freezes, everytime i have to do a reset. One more issue is the screen keeps moving on its own with vibration, it goes to bing page and then goes to home page, this happens continuosly, i have to hold the phone still for a while & then it stops, i called nokia cust care and then told me to submit in Bangalore Nokia care center. Apart from doing a hard reset is there any other troubleshooting, im a technical person too but unfortunately i cannot open this phone. Is there any other way to fix this issue. Im very much afraid of using heavy apps as the phones freezes......

Lumia 720 black- OS update issue and Apps download...

I am using Lumia 720 Black, Everythings seems to be oky, but I cannot download apps from store, though I congfigured my Microsoft account. Nor I am able to download new software updates.

• Are you unable to download any apps from the Windows Phone Store?
• What exactly happens when you download them?
• Is there any error message or code?
• Which connection are you using? Wi-Fi or cellular data? Do you have a stable internet connection?
• Were you able to browse any websites or access any internet-based apps using your phone?
For the software update issue:

• What's the current OS version and firmware revision number of your phone?

Lumia 1520 Camera and SD Issues

I love my Lumia 1520. I'm a heavy user of camera and video. Since the upgrade to 8.1 I have had persistent issues. I have reflashed my device twice and the problems remain.
1. The Nokia Camera app intermittently takes 2 - 4 mins to load. It says "loading" and does some processing. Sometimes it opens, sometimes it doesn't.
2. After the above behavior, Saving the photo takes 60 seconds or more. If I navigate away while the photo is being "saved" the photo is lost.
3. My original SD card, purchased with the phone at the AT&T store, is saying "Scan SD card and fix errors". Saying Yes to this seems to do nothing.
The above behavior is intermittent. For example just now while writing this, I tried the Microsoft Phone camera app and was able to take pictures successfully and without issue. I switched back to the Nokia Camera App, which I prefer, and the app functioned normally.
Yesterday I missed several important shots because the Nokia Camera App wouldn't load quickly (less than 30 seconds in this case) and the moment was long over when the camera was functional.

To troubleshoot this, purchase another SD memory card, a reputable brand from a reputable store. 32GB Kingston Class 10 SDHC cards have worked reliably for me through 3 years and on 4 different Nokia phones, others have other favorites.
Backup everything, to the cloud and/or via USB to a PC.
Menu -> Settings -> storage sense -> SD card -> remove, shut down the phone, remove the old SD card, insert the new SD card straight from the packaging into the phone, start up the phone. The new card must be recognized and ready for use in the phone right away, without error messages or scan for errors notices, otherwise go directly to the second step.
1: If the new SD card works without issues then the original SD card is defective.
2: If the intermittent errors persist then the phone need repair or replacement.
A competent store should acknowledge the warranty claim on either the SD card or the phone after this.

Lumia 720: Power and camera button act weird

Hi,
My Nokia Lumia 720 is acting weird.
The camera button doesn't work and so does the power button.
However if I press the volume down and the power button simultaneously the button does work.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
I've already brought the phone back to the default settings.
I'm running the latest developer preview if that matters.

Lumia 720 freezes and hangs

I have Nokia Lumia 720. I brought it 5 months ago march'14. It was working well for first 3-4 months but now it hangs a lot.
I even informed NokiaCare on twitter. They told me to restart, soft reset, hard reset, and even recovery via Nokia software tool. But it still keeps on hanging.
Didn't expected this. Please help!!

May be the cause, because this might be a rather old SIM. SIMs do fail after a certain amount of time. Furthermore, all Micro-SIMs are USIM. Windows Phone relies on a USIM heavily. A normal SIM can be a USIM or not. Micro-SIM makes that sure.
Therefore, please, ask your operator for a Micro-SIM are report back in any case: pass or failure.

Lumia 800 - Ringtone and vibration is too soft

I just got the lumia 800 for 2 days.
I found that the ringtone volume is too soft and the vibration is not strong enough (in adddition with the problem of once start vibration in incoming call).
I hope some update can help fix this problems.

My vibration is also quite weak, though it's quite OK when you run the vibration diagnosis.. ##634# or something like that..

Lumia 720 has touch & registration issue.

pl make a note towards that,
1.once someone create a account in nokia store that can not change, but its ridicules, suppose I want to sale, but other person disabled to create account to activate nokia store.
2. If the phone got repair within 6 month, you must be give guarantee piece to piece exchange.
3. Less applications.
4. Behaviour is not good of care & call executives.

Just like any other smartphone you use a main account (your Microsoft account) toregister payment options, backup data and assign paid apps to (amongst other things)
When you want to sell the phone you do a reset which will allow the new owner to make it his, restore his won data and apps to the phone.
How long your warranty lasts will generally depend on the region you are in and local laws. Usually it is at least 12 months on factory defaults.
Could you tell us which apps you are looking for ? Also if you would actually tell us what issues you are having we may be able to help out..

When did this happen? Can you confirm if you have the Lumia Cyan update under Settings > extras+info? Where did the videos come from? Are those videos taken by the phone? Does it happen with all of them? How about the videos that have been transferred from the PC to the phone? Did you encounter the same error? Lumia 720 freezes and the camera not opening

I had this problem today my camera is not opening any app related to camera is not working its a pity that this awesome device too has flaws ....Somebody with same problem?

Apologies if this is not the correct way to get in on a conversation but I cannot find a way to start a question.
I have a similar problem when I try to take a picture by tapping the screen and it appears the picture has been taken but the phone goes back to the home screen. When I check the camera roll the picture is sometimes there but appears to be blank at the bottom so you can only see a partial picture. I have tried a soft reset. I do not think it's hardware as smart shoot works. This problem only occurs on the back facing camera. The front camera shoots pictures by touching the screen and saving in full. This started happening on the 16 July after I saw a message saying my update was successful even though I didn't update.....
Just noticed when I copy/paste to my PC, the numbnail shows the picture in full but when opened in full it show only the top part..... Really confused! Hopefully the attached file will show what I mean when opened not viewed as a thumbnail...
Any ideas apart from hard reset..? Thanks in advance.

Whatsapp not working in Lumia 720

I am trying to install Whatsapp on Lumia 720. Its getting stuck in "creating favourites", I tried re-installing after performing a soft reset, however no luck.

i also bought a lumia 720. And, iam also facing the same problem of message apps not working. in fact i tried watsapp, nimbuzz and g-chat. All these are getting installed sucessfully.. but not working.
in watsapp.. -connection state= ''NOT CONNECTED''
in nimbuzz - ''couldn't connected to nimbuzz''
in gchat - ''loading contacts..''
but iam able to browse, use facebook, gmail, etc,... just the chat apps are not working.
it seems like a common problem.

Lumia 720 OS

Dear Nokia and Microsoft.
I have owned Nokia phones since they first came on the market as consumer products 18 years ago. I have found as I upgrade my phones the same reliability and similar functions have been available only to have been improved with the technology available.
Regarding my computing preference I have been a Microsoft supporter from W95, W98, XP, skipped Vista and now run my PC on W7. Though I have always found XP to be the best and still use it on my home and other office PCs.
I have never been a fan of apples, berries and other obscure space creature’s operating systems or products although they seem very popular and sell well.
When I found out that Nokia were going to use W8 as the operating system on the new Lumia products I believed it was the marrying of the best of both worlds. I believed this would include the great reliable features Nokia phones have always had over the years with a stable Windows OS and its features to complement.
I upgraded my Nokia E-7.00 to a Lumia 720 recently and have never been more disappointed with a Nokia product. Where have all the standard Nokia features gone?
If you are going to use someone else’s OS at least ensure they have the basic original manufacturers features installed so the product at least resembles the original brand.
You may as well put the W8 OS on a no-name brand as far as I am concerned.
I have posted some of my frustrations on this site and feel that many of the suggestions given as to why it doesn’t work the way I expect it to are given by people who do not own or use the product. Some of my queries have yet to be answered with an appropriate solution for the issue.
I purchased a Nokia because I wanted it to work like a Nokia. I do not bother comparing it to other brands OS and expected it to at least have the basic Nokia features. It may be worth your while collaborating with Microsoft and their OS people to at least include some of the basic Nokia features.
Some of my pet issues are:
When you receive a text message you have an option to attach or reply only. If you scroll up the screen then you can delete the thread only. If you tap on the message nothing happens. What ever happened to “Forward, Save to folder” or all the other options you had on previous models, never mind the ones you had on the wind up phones?
Now for the issue of my mail being removed from my server when accessing it with my phone, there does not seem to be a feature when setting up a POP3 email account, where you can retrieve Headers only or Msgs and attachments. I need my mail to go to my office PC besides being able read them when on the move. On the older version in the Sync content section when setting up a new account you had the choice. The W8 version removes the mail from my servers.
I gather I will just have to come to grips with the lack of being able to place the curser wherever I wanted but the feature on a keyboard is good and will be missed. It should be on the keypad.
And my all time favourite, the alarm clock. I don’t want to compare my phone to other brands and their OS, every Nokia I have owned so far had an alarm clock, and it worked when I turned my phone off, which I do every night, and I don’t care if it is in a deep sleep mode, I want it to work the way they always did.
I did add the Lumia storage check App so that I could move things to the Micro SD card; this should have been in the original OS though. It does work.
Please pass this on to product development and the guys who work on the OS as well as give them a few older Nokia models so they can at least give the Lumia a Nokia feel.

Microsoft came back with some replies to my queries and concerns, here are 2.
Hold your finger down on the message to get the forward/delete option for that message. There are no folders for SMS/Facebook chat/Messenger since everything is now based on conversations.
The phone is a reflection of the server. All modern smartphones behave like this. And it also further shows how ineffective POP3 is as a protocol in 2013. Switch to IMAP if you can.
You have to hold your finger on the message, not tap it.
They should be built to survive a 3M drop.

Noisy voice call on Lumia 720

I have Lumia 720 phone and most of the time there is noise during voice calls. When I use same sim in my old nokia 6233 it works fine. It also works fine on my wife's Lumia 620. I even tried getting new sim issued from Vodafone but still same problem.
Please tell me how to get rid of this problem?

Is it noisy for you listening or the person you are talking to?
