Lumia 720 WP8 Update 3

Hey guys I want to know when the Windows Phone 8 Update 3 and Lumia Black update will roll out for the Nokia Lumia 720. I am currently in the Middle East so I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me the approximate release date in this region and internationally.

Current rumours suggest that it the rollout for Lumia Black/GDR3 will begin in January. No specific dates are known for specific countries. All WP8 Lumia's will get this update.
Q1 runs from 1st January until 31st of March and the roll out should be complete before the end of Q1. Carrier branded devices may have to wait longer than unbranded devices.

Rest assured, the Lumia Black release for Lumia 720 in NZ is not forgotten. It will follow the release timing for Lumia 720 Country variant in Australia. We've asked for the NZ Lumia Black availability table to be updated.
The update should be available to you, barring any unforeseen technical issues, by the end of next week.

I am using Lumia 720.In Nokia support site it's showing update is available but when I try to update it's showing phone is up-to-date.I bought my phone from UAE and am now in India.plz help.

If I'm not mistaken, Mauritius is located on Africa right? You might want to check on this link: http://www.nokia.com/global/support/software-update/wp8-software-update/.
If you haven't got the update yet, you can try turning 'on' and 'off' the airplane mode on your phone by going to settings > airplane mode. Then try to connect to your router again and manually check for the update by going to settings > phone update. We ask you to be patient as the software update for the Nokia Lumia range are being released gradually.

The release for updates is phased. Your 720 will be offered the update when it gets to its turn. Incidentally none of my WP8 devices have been offered the update yet.

Lumia 720 amber update

I recentlyupdated my lumia 720 to amber and it doesn't show the yellow lumia amber logo in extras+info and doesn't have glance and total memory showing tab. Please advice

Amber update for Lumia 720

When we get amber updates for Lumia 720, in India? Do we need to install fm or it comes along with the software itself? Any updates for transferring music files via Bluetooth?

you do not need to install anything for FM radio, it will be in Music+Video hub once you get the update

You can update when the update is released for your handset. You can check availability for your handset HERE. You need to look up the region and variant of your phone, which may NOT be the same as your current location, which is irrelevant. Even if the update shows as available for your handset, it may take a few days until it reaches all devices.

hi mate, do you have an Indian country variant 720 do you? i would check this and also liaise with Nokia Care in your country directly as to the status of the update. if the update has just been published recently, then it can take a few weeks before it rolls out as it is a phased roll-out.

Lumia 720: Been installing update for the past two...

My Lumia 720 yesterday warned me that there isn't enough storage in the device, and I needed to free up or create some space. Even suggested I allow some item to be saved to the memory card by default. I chose to postpone the task , thnking I could sort the space issue out at a later time.
Shortly after that the phone reported that updates were ready to be installed, which I chose to do immediately (without first ensuring there was enough space in the device for updates).
My question now is, is it normal the phone has been unusable and seemingly updating (black screen alternates with rotating wheels display) since yesterday morning (18 hours now)? or should I be worried that there may be some sort of freeze or software/hardware failure? Please help.

18hrs would not be uheard of in extreme cases. Leave it for another while and see if it resolves itself. When you can no longer wait, I suggest you leave the the battery goes flat and the phone shuts itself down. Then plug in the charger and cross all finger and toes. Many users have reported the phone starting again.

Window explorer problwm in lumia 720

I have Nokia Lumia 720. The problem is related to the drop-down menu on websites. When I open a web page in internet explorer on my mobile and click the drop-down menu of the web, the list that drops down immediately rolls up and it do not stay enough to click an option. However the bar-menu like "=" works properly. I have updated the amber to Lumia Black even then the same problem stays.

Did you update to WP8.1 ? If so, the Keys combination is now changed to Volume Up + Power key ..

yes Dolby Headphone sound enhancements is available for the 720, the only model that this is not present on is the 520. No, there is no native video calling thru FFC support on WP8, you will need to use an app such as Skype. Yes, i have Asphalt 7 installed on my 920 and it works fine (btw, Asphalt 7 and a few other games were updated recently to work with 512MB RAM devices such as the 520, 620 etc).
if you are looking to upgrade to a Nokia Lumia WP8 device, coming from Symbian, you won't be disappointed.

So now you are on WP8.1 and Lumia Black ? And the camera is poor regardless of firmware ? Have you considered the possibility of a hardware issue with your camera ? What exactly is your problem with it ?
