Lumia 800 Can't send: try again while data connect...

Well this is weird, so I can't send SMS with the famous "Can't send, try again" message popping up 10 minutes later. Extremely annoying, especially considering that I am able to receive messages, no problem. As soon as I switch the data connection off - the problem disappears. SMS Centre number is fine. I read somewhere that it might be due to linked contacts having different values of "mobile number" in different profiles. That was the case, but nothing changed even after I deleted the mobile numbers in all but one profile in the linked group.
I love my white lumia, but this really makes me want to throw it against a wall. Please help me and save this innocent piece of hardware

Are you using the DP version or 8.0? Are have you ever been able to attach to text messages? Is there something blocking it, like maybe it is uploading to OneDrive? Did you click on the paperclip at the bottom and select insert?

However, I should not have to wipe my computer clean everytime I need to do a CC update. HELP!

Same here but I am used to it since none of my Androids will connect to Joiku as well. Fingers crossed it will change with future updates or Joiku adds option for infrastructure as well..

Turn off "Send form again" while browing backwards in safari

When I am in safari and select the browse to previous page tab, sometimes a "Send form again" pop-up appears. In particular, this is most annoying when it appears while I am in sites related to university and online courses, which of course slows down my studying and assigments in action. How can I turn this off? (i wouldn't have chosen "Go Back" if I hadn't meant it!)

You get this message when you go back from a secure site to a non-secure site.
Isn't there a checkbox down the bottom of the message giving you the option of 'Do not show this message again' or words to that effect?

Lumia 800 Can's set up to Works Exchange Server

Hi There.
Just bought the new Lumia 800, and find it kind of cool. Uses loooots of battery though.
I have a problem setting it up to connect with my works exchange server.
- I put in the email and the password, it wont connect
-I then key in my username, it still wont connect
- I Press Advanced
- Then I key in the Server (Webserver) without the "https://"
- The Sign in button is gray and it wont connect
- I uncheck the SSL option, no cange
- I've mailed the SSL Certificarte, and tried both with SSL on an SSL of, still the Sign In button is gray.
Can anybody help me with this?
Since it is Windows on the phone, there should be no problems connecting with MS Exchange i should think.
This have been working quite easy with my iPhone and HTC with Android.
there I just keyd in Mailadress, username, password and server.

Thanks for your 1st post and let me welcome you to the Nokia discussion forums!
I have a Lumia device as well and just literally setup the exchange email to test this out with my work emails and it seems to be working fine. So just to talk you through the process I went through:
Firstly go into settings and then scroll down email. Then select add an account and then scroll down to advanced setup.
This will then take you a screen where it should say Other account. From here enter the email address you wish to add so in my instance it was my work email. The password you need to add is your computer password so in my instance its the password I log into my P.C.
Once you have entered this the next screen will ask you the kind of account you wish to setup please select exchange server.
Once you select this the next screen will show the following options:
Email address (This should automatically be filled out)
Password ( Again these details will be automatically entered)
User Name - This is the username you use to log into your work P.C
Domain - These details you will need to get from your place of works I.T department
Server - Once again these details you will need to get from your place of work I.T department
Make sure Server requires encrypted (SSL) connection is selected.
The rest is fairly self explanatory and you can set this to your preference. Once you are sure you have entered all the credentials correctly select sign in and it should syncing. And that should be it!
Remember whenever you change your password at your place of work this will also need to be changed to match it on your phone!
Go back to the main Windows screen and the tile should be automatically added to your main page.
Give this a go and let me know how you get on.

Lumia 800 - can't use headphones

Hello here,
My name is Adel and I would like to get some support for my Nokia Lumia 800.
Basically the problem is that headphones don't work with it, the phone doesn't recognize them.
I checked for dust, nothing.
I resetted it, nothing.
Tried to get to an earlier version of windows phone? Nothing.
Tried to change headphones, nothing.
Sent it to Nokia local store, after two weeks, i got back my phone with headphones finally recognized by the phone, but it was a short glory, one day later, the same problem is back. No headphones can be connected to the phone. And, I used the headphones that were given in the box when i bought the phone.
I really have troubles finding a similar solution over the net, feels like I am the only one in the world experiencing this issue
So guys, I would really appreciate if you could help me fix it please.

Lumia 520 can't send text mesages

I've only had th ephone a couple of days - it is my first smart phone - and I am still very much feeling my way with it, but I can't understand why it has sent some text messges but not others. Ihave tried texting 5 of my contacts. 2 went OK, but on each of theother three I got 'can't send' message with no explanation s to why they can't be sent. I hit the 'try agin' time after time, but with no joy. Any ideas why, please? If the phone won't send texts it makes it pretty pointless.

The forum emails are sent from noreply @ microsoft.com - it is not possible to reply to those. This is normal.
For the stubborn phone numbers, did you follow the advice and clean up any brackets, dashes, periods, commas and white space in the numbers, and preferably add the country code also?
Let's take an example from Microsoft Denmark and hope they don't mind too much ...

The number is listed on the page in an ugly mix of local and international formatting as (45) 44 89 0100
Both 44 89 01 00 and 44890100 works in Denmark, but the proper formatting on the phone is +4544890100
- which works both inside Denmark and from anywhere in the world. Everything in one string, without white-space etc. also makes it a lot easier to transfer the numbers to other devices later
The lack of proper formatting of phone numbers is also a common cause of calls and texts not being recognized as coming from an existing contact. So I still advice to clean up and format the numbers properly on https://people.live.com/ and sync - first the non-working ones, and the rest on a rainy day, if there are many.

Try this... I had the same problem and this worked for me.
Go to your system preferences → network → make sure WI-FI selected → advanced → DNS tab. Add 8.8.8.8 to the DNS servers. Go back to FaceTime and try to verify your account again.

Lumia 800 reboots when listening to music while th...

I am noticing this after applying the latest update.
If the phone is being charged, and at the same time music is being played (using the headset), the Lumia 800 seems to reboot after about every 10-15 minutes. Can confirm and reproduce this on my phone. Is this generally an issue, or only a problem with my handset?

I have read some post in Microsoft Answers on this issue. Seems like problem occurs when you play songs using Smart DJ mix with incomplete metadata(album artworks, bios..etc).
If songs in your collection cannot be recognized to by Zune Marketplace it forces the phone to reboot. I can give workarounds:
* Before syncing/adding music to your phone download all the metadata and exclude those who lacks.
* On your phone don't connect to zune if listening to those music not recognized by Zune Marketplace. That is going to phone Settings>Applications>music+videos toggle Connect to Zune to Off.
I am really disappointed on my Lumia 800, now I am working for my moneyback.
It appears that NokiaMS still not finished with WPBeta.
Nokia I didn't sign-up as a Beta tester. I am no guinea pig.

Can't send email again

I can't send email. I can receive it, and I can send and receive email through my .Mac account. This happens only on my laptop running 10.4.8. My desktop seems to run fine with this OS.
I reinstalled Tiger on my laptop which helped the sending mail problem, but two days later, I am
back at the same point of not being able to send--just receive email. This is the second time this
has happend using my laptop. I thought there was something else wrong which is why I reinstalled
Tiger. Safari also acts weird, I can't type in the composing email box, and the mail won't send, it just sits as a draft.
I tried updating to 10.4.11 with the new Safari (BEFORE reinstalling 10.4), but Safari was not allowing
me to type in this discussion area and overall was acting buggy). Because I couldn't revert back to
10.4.8, I reinstalled it without updating.
What is the issue now that Apple mail reverts back to not being able to send mail. Connection doctor is making a connection without a problem and Activity viewer is showing a good connection.

OK. So the problem is that you cannot compose the message in Mail and when you hit Send nothing happens, right? What’s your Mail > Preferences > Composing > Check spelling setting? Set it to Never, restart Mail, and see whether that makes a difference. If it does, the problem is some Launch Services cache or preferences corruption that affects Mail’s ability to use the built-in spell checker.
The following article describes how to manually reset Launch Services — the notes at the bottom of the article also provide information about the side effects of deleting each of the files involved:

If you prefer using a cache cleaning utility instead of following the manual procedure described in the previous article, take a look at this other article for general troubleshooting and cache-cleaning procedures. I have the same issue. I am on a Macbook Pro 2 Gb RAM Rev A. OS X 10.5.3 apple mail 3.3. I have setup a corporate exchange owa (2007) account and can receive emails. I cannot send any from this exchange account. on the same Mac I have Entourage and it can receive and send emails. What is the difference and what do I have to do to make Apple Mail work and be able to send emails as well.
