Lumia 800 has no "Podcast" option in MarketPlace?

Hi All,
I have a shiny new Lumia 800 and have read all support documentation I can find and, apparently, "to download an audio or video podcast on your phone" I go to "Start, tap Marketplace, and then tap Podcasts."
My problem is that I go to "Start, tap Marketplace" and then find that there is actually no "Podcasts" option! I only have "Nokia collection", "applications", "games", and "music".
Why no podcast option?
Some documentation I've found says "Subscribing to podcasts on your phone is not available in all locations or languages." but I cannot find anywhere that lists if it should be available in Australia.
Please, someone tell me I can get podcasts with this phone? If not, well... fail.
Wondering if I need to download an app for this?
Cheers,
C.

If, in Marketplace, you select 'Applications', then search for 'Podcast' you can see what is available to you.
Personally I now download mine to laptop and sync via Zune.

  • Nokia Lumia 800 has stopped working

    Hello,
My Nokia Lumia 800 has just stopped working - I checked it during the day to reply to messages and it was working fine, and then when checking it about an hour later it would not respond to anything.
When I got home I tried charging it (it didn't have low battery when I was out so I don't think it turned off because of that). Then I tried taking the SIM out and putting it back in, tried the 'soft reset', the 'hard reset' and then plugged it into my laptop, all of which did nothing.
I'm just not sure what to do next really, any advice would be much appreciated!
    Thank you,
    Zara

Hi, ZaraFrizell. When you tried charging the phone, does it show any battery indicator? Are these the troubleshooting steps you've done so far: Nokia Lumia 800 - Troubleshooter? Note that the link is intended for the US, but you may search it on your local page. In case that the issue still remains, best to have it checked by our authorized technicians. Taking your phone for repair will delete all the personal files saved on it. Check this: http://www.microsoft.com/en/mobile/locale/ to find your local repair options.

  • Nokia Lumia 800 has frozen coloured static screen ...

My Lumia 800 has gone crazy. This is a replacement phone for the last Lumia that I got that turned off one day and then didn't turn back on. I have had this one for only three weeks.
Last night at about 9pm, before I got any New Year messages the screen of my phone changed to a multi coloured static looking screen and I couldn't do anything to fix it.
I could hear messages coming through occasionally and the phone rang a few times but I was unable to answer it due to not being able to see what I was doing.
I have tried doing a soft reset to no avail and I have also drained the battery til it went dead and have recharged it, but have not had any joy with it today either.
This  phone has not been dropped or damaged in any way, so I have no idea what is going on.
    Any help would be appreciated
    Thanks

I have the same problem, except my static screen wasn't coloured. I can't do anything with my phone and i get all of the sounds. I was in a skype call with my friend when my phone was on low battery. When i started the call the screen went static but i could still here my friend talking. I thought it was because of the charge so i charged it up fully. That did absolutely nothing..... so sorry im not making any suggestions to your problem.

  • No podcast option in marketplace

I'm using the Lumia 710 since one month.
When I launch the Marketplace app I don't get the option for podcast. I only get 3 options Viz. Nokia Collection, Applications & Games.
Also, in my Zune application on my PC, I don't get the option for Marketplace.
    What is the solution?

Apps have not been available through Zune for several now as this option was removed. Availability of options in Zune would also depend on regional availability. As Zune is a Microsoft service you can get more information through Zune support of you need it.

  • My Nokia Lumia 800 has two IMEI numbers. What?!

    Hi Everyone,
Purchased a Lumia 800 (white) from Nokia Store here in Bangalore, India on August 2012. The phone was working fine till August 2013 when camera stopped working. Took the phone to Nokia Care. Warranty checked out fine and the camera module had to be replaced. Got call from Nokia Care three weeks later saying there has been IMEI mismatch as such warranty is now void. Reason- the phone has two IMEI numbers. What??
And funny, Nokia's story was true. IMEI number written on the phone panel and phone box differed from internal hardware IMEI number (which can also be seen from Settings>About). They say this can only happen if the phone was serviced earlier and component changed. Well, this was my first time servicing the phone and when the phone is under warranty why will I give for servicing to a non-nokia centre?? This shocked me, I could not convince Nokia people so I just agreed to pay for the repair. Now, after 3 days, they call up and say- "Changed the camera module but it is still not working. Maybe your motherboard is damaged! you will be charged 80% of the phones price if you agree with repair". I am yet to give them the 'go ahead'.
For no fault of mine I am going through so much!! Is it possible that Nokia sold me a device with two IMEI numbers?? Can anyone please tell me what to do?? Thanks.

Nokia wouldn't have sold a device in that state. It's highly likely that the retailer is to blame for this one. They've probably sold you a refurbished or repaired set as new.
If I was you I would go and speak to the retailer about this.

  • Lumia 800 has gone silent!

I cant get any  sound from my Lumia 800! Music, videas and ringtones are all silent. The ringer is on loud but still no sound is coming through. Last time this happened I reset it and it worked but its done it again. I cant keep resetting my phone as I lose all my downloads. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it somethig I am doing or not doing? Please help! Thanks.

Hi, my Lumia 800 is on same situation. But sorry, I don't know the solution. I'm a Japanese and Nokia had left from Japan. So that I can't receive Nokia supports... I wish this problem will be solved soon with any system updates.

  • Lumia 800 locks up on making call

Just today my Lumia 800 has started locking up making a call.
The instant I press the number, the screen goes black. The call goes through and I can talk but I have to long-press the power and reboot.  The call is then not in the call history either.
    Anyone else experienced this?
Only thing that has changed since it worked was updates to marketplace apps. Could one of those be the problem?

    Hi Jimmy
I have never managed to get a soft reset to work. I never get three buzzes (which I believe you are supposed to get).
It just stays blank til I release the buttons.
    Anyhow, that hasn't cured it.

  • Lumia 800 not picking up 3G T-mobile network

Hi there, I am having problems picking up the T-mobile 3G network with the Lumia 800. The phone works fine on the 2G EDGE network...but data connection is soooo slow!!! I think the phone may not be compatible with the 3G network. Anyone having the same issue?
    Thanks in advance.

When you sday T Mobile, you mean T Mobile USA or one of the many T Mobile's of Europe?
In Europe T Mobile uses the same frequencies as the other operators. In the USA, T Mobile uses a unique frequency band called AWS only used by them, and a canadian operator (and one in Chili I understood).
In total there are 5 3G frequency bands used in the world, and 4 GSM bands. Almost no phones have all bands. (In fact Nokia Symbian3 models are almost the only models that do.) Most phones have a subset only.
The Lumia 800 has 3 of these five 3G bands. But there are two models.
    1) The European model (still sold through Amazon or other channels in the US,) has the 900/1900/2100 band, which makes it work in Europe, most of Asia and on most of AT&T's 3G network.
    2) The US model, which has the 850/1900/2100 bands, which makes it work on AT&T, and most of Europe and parts of Asia.
Neither of these two models work on T Mobile USA.
The 710 model, when you get the US model at least, does work on T Mobile USA though.

  • Lumia 800 Bricked - Please Help!

My Lumia 800 has bricked itself this morning. Like most of you I've been having the well-documented battery and wi-fi issues. I got the "stuck wi-fi" issue again this morning and in the past had powered off the phone to resolve it. Well - my Lumia won't power back on again.
Have tried charging, connecting to Zune and pressing and holding the power key for 10 seconds. Been in this state now for about 3 hours to no avail. I've e-mailled Nokia, but am off on holiday on Tuesday for 3 weeks, so I think I'm basically phoneless until the new year.
Does anyone have any ideas, or know of any other secret key combinations to jump the thing into life?
    Thanks in advance.
    Mark

i have a pretty brick too. nothing seems to be able to revive it.
i know this is digging up an old thread, but i was trying to re-purpose my old Lumia800 as a spare phone on a sim only deal from a different carrier, given that my current (vodafone) carrier is useless.
    so. story time.
plugged in the 800 after being in a box for the past year or so. gave the battery empty symbol so left on charge. came back a couple of hours later, and nothing on screen. can't get the phone to boot or anything. however, holding down the power button and then releasing generates a vibrate, then a few seconds later, and shorter vibrate.
same for power+volume down buttons. so it kinda seems alive. left it overnight on charge.
this morning it was sat on the lock screen, and unlocked it. the homescreen buttons work, as in they show being pressed on the screen, but don't do anything.
got to work, downloaded the Lumia Software Recovery Tool. at this point i don't care if i wipe the phone. the software updates itself to version 5.0.5, and downloads the software for the 800. its about 415meg? version 1750.0805.8773.12220
the recovery then seemed to be working and doing something on the phone, and it looked like it needed to reboot the handset to do the next bit.
only the phone has not come back on. the powerbutton/cam button, and volume down buttons hold down and release trick seems to not do anything anymore, and my PC is unable to detect the handset as being connected to the usb ports? have tried multiple ports.
the software "wating for connection" advises hold down power and volume down buttons untill vibrate. no vibrate.
looks like it really has died this time.
    any advice gratefully recieved.

  • Should I keep Lumia 800?

Hi have just taken delivery of Lumia 800. Probably should have looked at forum before ordering. I appreciate forums are largely used by people with issues, but I have been shocked by problems with phone and some of its limitations eg can't direct synch outlook tasks - I don't have ability to use exchnage server and was motivation for buying a windows phone rather than iphone(assumed there would be no issue). Question is should I keep phone or return under 7 day cool off. Thanks for your thoughts.

Sadly Nokia has again failed to listen to it's customers, the whole battery issue has been declared -solved- although sadly it is nowhere near solved. The battery longevity varies hugely from day to day, one day it will sit on standby for 18 hours the next it will die after 6 hours (this happened to me yesterday from full charge to flat in 6 hours standby)
It had/has the potential to be a great phone but the battery issues plague it, if you have not already bought one then, as a loyal Nokia customer since they first started selling mobile phones for general use, I'd steer well clear of it until they either fix it or replace the model with something that does the job it was designed for.
The Lumia 800 has been all said and done the most complete and utter dissapointment Nokia could have put to market. It  was clearly rushed to production and sale without first making sure it was up to the job.  The only thing Nokia can do now is put it's hands up and admit to it's customers that there is and always has been a battery issue, it has not been resolved, make efforts to get the issue rectified as soon as possible and hope some of them will stay 'brand loyal'. I have tried to remain positive throughout but it is now very hard to remain upbeat when I have a phone which I cannot use for any time for fear of being caught without power and cannot enjoy the features of unless it is plugged in and charging (note plugged in with the Lumia does not always mean charging) this defeats the word mobile and provides me with a very expensive electricity consuming landline

  • What happened to the Lumia 800 design???

Well it's obvious that the current Lumia 800 is on a dead track since it no longer supports an update to the new OS. That wouldn't be much of a problem when the new Lumia designs were based on the 800. Unfortunatelly though the new x20 series are utterly boring! (except for the 920, but that one is too big/heavy and without amoled)
I really can’t think of any reason for redesigning the phone. The 800 was differentiating from the rest of the market and very stylish. Like Apple, Nokia better had to keep on to this winning design so it's recognizable. But just adapting it a bit, bringing better hardware and so on...
Maybe I'm wrong here and it's just me that loves the 800. So for me it’s a difficult dilemma, I have to choose for design or functionality where both should have been joined…

The lumia 800 has a superior design.
It is the most beautiful smartphone nokia, is simply a piece of art, either in size or in design.
    All 20's are horrible

  • Using an N9 SIM Tray in a Lumia 800

    Hi everyone
My Lumia 800 has a damaged SIM tray, it not longer sits flush with the phone.
I have tried everywhere to find a replacement with no luck.
I have however managed to source an N9 SIM tray. Am i right in thinking that these phones are virtually identical and that this should work in my Lumia?
I have read countless posts and watched many many videos showing the SIM trays on both, and they look identical, but can anyone confirm?
The seller of the N9 tray seems to think it will not fit , but i am sure it will.
Any help would really be appreciated.
    Regards

You know me too well, unfortunately I learnt the hard way of attempting to use Lumia one in N9 when moving one trimmed SIM between the two devices, but haven't to date tried N9 one in Lumia 800.

  • Lumia 800 - Marketplace Error message and code c00...

Hello, I bought my Lumia 800 in NZ less than a week ago.  I get an error message when trying to access apps or get recommended updates via Marketplace...
"We're sorry but we can't complete your request at the moment. Try launching Marketplace again.  If the problem continues, check back in a little while or try restarting your phone.
    Error code: c00cee3b"
I have tried both the suggestions of checking back and restarting phone - this error message and code has been happening for several days.
Any ideas or tips much appreciated.

Hey akb_nz, Welcome to the Nokia Forums!
I suggest that you try and reset your phone and re-sync your windows Live ID to it by performing a master reset, be sure to save a back up of your sensitive data!
If you are still experiencing problems with marketplace and applications, you can find more information regarding windows phone troubleshooting here.
