Lumia 800 Network/Messaging problems

Hi! I've had my Nokia Lumia 800 since July and its a great phone! But over the past month or two (since orange and t mobile formed to make EE) i have had a few problems. Whenever i have a 3G signal i am never allowed to use it. If i click on internet explorer it will say that i have lost my mobile network signal. I cant receive or send picture messages either and my friends are saying that some old messages are being resent to them weeks later and some txts are being jumbled up. Any help would be great!

You have your mobile data activated i presume?

I have WiFi router and it has WPA-Personal protection.
My computer connects to internet without problem but my Lumia 800 does not.

Lumia 800 : XBOX Live problem

Greetings everyone. Recently i bought a Lumia 800 device. I wanted to use the XBOX LIVE feature, but it said that xbox live is not available in my country / region. I live in Croatia and my phone operator is T-Mobile. When will XBOX LIVE feature be available in my country ? Thanks in advance, robi2595.

Lumia 800 output speaker problem

I have an issue very unconfortable with my lumia 800. When I plug it on my desktop speakers to play music and I want to go to the next song it makes an odd sound like a desconexion/conexion of the jack.
Then if I stop the music I hear like a pulse of sound.
Has somebody the same problem?

I'm having the same issue when i plug the my new Lumia 800 phone on the car audio system.
I had a Samsung Focus, and that problem never happened, so the problem is with the Nokia phone.

Lumia 800 - A few problems

I have just bought a Nokia 800 and am having a number of problems setting up the phone and generally getting it working.
First of all I had to manually set the time; I searched online and apparently there should be an option on the time and date settings to make it adjust automatically but for some reason my phone does not have this option.
Secondly, every app I have download just says 'attention required' after about a minute. After about an hour of telling them to continue one of them has downloaded while the rest continue to say 'attention required'. I should mention that I am connected to wifi too.
Thirdly, I can phone other people from my phone, however when I text them my messages arent getting through to them, even though there are no signs that this is the case on the phone. On top of this, when the phone is on the lock screen there is a symbol saying i have 1 message but when i look there are no new messages...
Lastly, on the 'People' tile on the home screen there are no pictures showing up even though my facebook and twitter are connected to the phone; all there is is different shades of blue squares within the tile with the occasional 'facebook' logo appearing.
If any of you could help me with any of these problems it would be much appreciated!

Thanks for posting and welcome.
To my knowledge the T-Mobile UK SIM would have at least the Internet settings on it but I would in any case download and install the app 'Network Setup' from the Nokia Collection in Marketplace. When you run this app it will tell you it determined you are on T-mobile and setup the correct internet and MMS settings. When it reports success you can close the app.
As far as downloads if you get the 'attention required' message you can tap that message and you will get more information on why.
You can verify contact information by logging in to http://outlook.com with the Microsoft account (formerly LiveID) you used to register your Lumia with. You will find your contacts and Calendar(s) there as well as the mailbox for the account. You can click the down arrow next to the word Outlook'' in the top right to move between options.

Lumia 800 praise and problems

Hello and thanks for reading.
Ive had the lumia for a few days and most of my phones have been Nokias in the past as I prefur the ease of use with them......untill now
I will admit this phone looks and feels very slick, it works very quickly with little lag, simplistic menus and sharp screen...But....
this phone will amaze anyone with the things it CAN do, but also the things it CANT do.
It seems I cannot rename videos or pictures unless I wire it up to the laptop/computer and mess around in Zume (Conzume I will call it) it syncs the phone but I want to upload to youtube as I have a channel on there but this Zume programme wont let me copy and paste to my hard drive. Its a windows phone so why cant it act like windows lol I cant drag and drop to my computer and if I try to upload to utube it wont find zume only other hard drives.
My last phone was the N95 8GB and that will let you do what you like when you connect it with a USB.
I cant Edit videos on the phone either?
I see someone else has mentioned it wont connet by bluetooth to ANYTHING..I mean other slightly older Nokias which I cant believe I tried to send all my old videos and pics from my N95 to the lumia but says its not supported????? Unbelieveable!
Please tell me Nokia will sort this as its a major let down as its so simple.
I know it wants to share everything I do but if I wanted that Id call a Newspaper
Can someone please explain the "cloud" to me as It seems its storing your videos and pics to then pay for when you want to watch them as your using mobile internet all the time?

My beefs with this phone include
It's a windows phone, why won't it sync directly with Outlook. Most other smartphones do for heavens sake. I had to spend ages mucking about with 'Outlook connector' & syncing all my stuff to my hotmail account before I could get it onto my phone. Not straight forward & most frustrating.
Why was it that when I updated my phone with the latest firmware to improve the battery life it actually got worse. It wasn't until I did a hard reset that the battery improved. Fine except I had to set the phone up from scratch again. Not impressed & if I have to hard reset the phone every time there's a software update I won't be getting another Nokia. (I was saving up to get a 900 when it comes out).
It's now dead. As of two days ago it won't switch on. I've thrown everything at it without any joy & the Nokia Care Centre have now sent it back to Nokia.
I paid out money for a game I'd previously had for free on my Android phone (Frozen Bubble). Only thing is, when I got to play it I realised that it was a mere shadow of the game I'd played on my old HTC Desire. The graphics were poo by comparison & the physics of the game were poorer too. What's going on? Not the fault of the Lumia I know but it all adds to my current dissatisfaction with the Windows Phone/Lumia experience.
Why does everything have to be done through Zune. I'd love to be able to just transfer stuff across to & from the phone with windows. It's an unnecessary restriction.
There have been many other niggles with this phone since I got it & a lot of them I can not currently remember, but the overall feeling is one of restriction. It seems it's their way or the highway. I'd always avoided going for an Iphone due to the lack of freedoms of that system, but it looks like I've inadvertently ended up with something very similar.
On a final note I'd like to say this is one of the finest, if not THE finest looking phone on the market today. I've wanted one ever since I saw it's initial incarnation as the N9. In fact I think I'd have been happier with an N9 if only they'd had the balls to distribute it in this country. However, when the Lumia IS working it's as smooth as silk & a joy to behold. I'm hoping that when I get it back, a lot of these woes will be behind me & I can get back to my initial love affair with it. If Nokia and Microsoft can iron out the problems then this phone & the forthcoming 900 will put them back on the map. My fear is that if they don't get a grip soon, it could be too late.

Nokia lumia 800 end call problems

I had a problem ending calls which looks like a common problem. I had a screen protector which was not a genuine Nokia item. I removed this screen protector and problem solved it now works hooray.

Nokia Lumia 800 rebooting 2-3 times a day at rando...

I have a problem with my Nokia Lumia 800. The problem is that it reboots 2-3 times a day at random. It does it when making a call, being at the homescreen, using an app or not using the phone at all. I took this phone back and got a new one, even a new simcard. But with this new phone, I have the exact same problem!! How can this be? Nobody seems to have the problem, but I do.. with 2 different phones and 2 different simcards. I'm talking about the simcard, because some said it might be the problem. But replacing it doesn't solve a thing. What could the problem be? I am planning to take it back again, but if my third Lumia has this problem, then I'm gonna freak out. Could it be my fault, somehow? I am not holding it in a specific position, nor am I pushing any buttons when it happens...
If you know how to solve this other than taking it back, would be much appreciated.

I also had this problem and wondered if it was because i updated it in zune? I now have a second handset and havnt experienced this yet with my new handset. Your problem it seems is not just your own as my first handset would do it waking up, texting, looking in people hub, web browsing and even did it in the middle of a call. I took it back to the three shop and as the guy looked at it it said goodbye. He replaced the phone and so far i had it for about 6 hours. I did have one issue with the screen not waking up in a call on this one and had to hold the power down to end it. Also find that when holding your finger on the screen while scrolling a web page it judders. :/

Lumia 800 crash problems after running Network Set...

Long post coming up but if somebody at Nokia reads and makes sense of it and a fix comes about then it'll have been worth it.
Phone: Nokia Lumia 800 (sim free)
Firmware: 11500
Location: UK and Ireland
Since I got my Lumia 800 (November) I've been traveling between UK and Ireland a lot.
The phone works fine in the UK but in Ireland, when I put in my three.ie sim the phone keeps crashing during network related operations such as coming out of flight mode or reading/replying to a text message.
It's not a dodgy sim because this is the third one (I get a new payg sim each month) and this problem has occurred throughout.
At first I noticed that I could not configure the phone where MMS and internet data worked at the same time. If I added the 3internet APN then data worked but MMS didn't. If I deleted the APN then MMS worked but data didn't.
Another problem with this phone in Ireland was that it kept crashing whenever I took it out of flight mode. Again, this did not happen in the UK with my UK (Three network) sim.
As this has been happening from the first days that I got the phone I've been looking for a solution/workaround the whole time and I remember one of the first bits of information I found was somebody suggesting that the phone worked fine with the first sim inserted (which in my case was the UK sim). That stuck with me and when the Network Setup app (from Nokia) appeared I thought "ah! this makes sense, now I should be able to switch sims".
Unfortunately the app did not fix the problem of not having a unified network configuration for data and MMS.
This week I bit the bullet and reset the phone with the Ireland sim inserted. O...M...G...!!! Internet data AND MMS now work (in Ireland) and I have not gone anywhere near the APN configuration.
I used the phone for an hour surfing, checking emails, sending texts and MMSs, all was good.
Then I thought about the Network Setup app and wondered what it would do, so I ran it. The very next incoming text message crashed the phone! Then I rebooted and found that internet data did not work.
Next I repeated this process. Reset phone with three.ie sim inserted, checked that internet data and MMS worked (they did), ran Network Setup, internet data no longer worked, opened an incoming text...it didn't crash.
So, not a reproducible problem
Next test: flight-mode toggling. This one IS reproducible.
Location: Ireland
Sim: three.ie
Fully reset phone.
Before running Network Setup: flight mode toggles=20, crashes=0
After running Network Setup: flight mode toggles=20, crashes=12
Fully reset phone again.
Before running Network Setup: flight mode toggles=20, crashes=0
After running Network Setup: flight mode toggles=20, crashes=11
Fully reset phone again.
Before running Network Setup: flight mode toggles=20, crashes=0
So now I'm not going to run Network Setup, I'll head back to the UK on Friday and see if my phone continues to work properly with my UK sim.

Phone just crashed when coming out of flight mode and I have not run Network Setup.
MMS and internet data are working though so I'll just not use flight mode at night...or on planes

Nokia lumia 800 signal problems

I have a lumia 800 with terrible signal issues. I know it is the phone and not the signal strength as i have a htc phone for work on the same network. The problem mainly is that the signal will dissappear for hours at a time, even restarting the phone doesn't help, when i have full signal on the htc phone constantly. I have issues with the phone freezing and needing to be restarted, delaying by upto 2 hours sending or recieving push messages on social apps and in general being very slow compared with the htc. the htc is on the android system and works superbly, only had a couple of minor problems with it. Is it likely that i have a faulty phone or am i just expecting to much from a phone that is over a year newer?
I like the phone, style wise just wish it worked.

Facebook messages - Push or not lumia 800

i see a few people have had this problem but i can not seem to find an answer as they are talking about apps.
i am using an up to date Lumia 800.
I am not using the facebook app, instead using the intergration to try and get the full nokia experience.
Chat works fine - but only connects over wifi. can it be turned on over network? (data usage isnt an issue)
I an see updates, comments, photos, newsfeeds, everything.....
except when someone sends me a message (not in online chat)
So if i am not online over wifi, or they just send me a message not a chat. as far as i can tell i can not see this without either getting the app or going to the mobile site.
have i missed a push feture somewhere or is this a development oversight

This is a refurbished Torch I received about 2 weeks ago. The previous one and this one worked fine until a few days ago. FB notifications work fine - both to it and my email. Just the messages part is having issues. I did a test and sent myself a FB message from my PC. No notification on the Torch but I could see the message on the Torch if I opened the Messages section of FB (the error message didn't pop up). Oddly enough - older messages in my FB folder don't show up. Just the one I sent myself.

Lumia 800 microphone problem

Hello, I have a problem with my Lumia 800 microphone.. when someone calls me, or I try to record a video it doesn't work, I can't hear what I sad in the video, neither people can hear me over their phone, but for example when I try to use voice command via Bing/Tell Me it works, it records my sounds. What's the problem?

Lumia 800 not picking up 3G T-mobile network

Hi there, I am having problems picking up the T-mobile 3G network with the Lumia 800. The phone works fine on the 2G EDGE network...but data connection is soooo slow!!! I think the phone may not be compatible with the 3G network. Anyone having the same issue?

When you sday T Mobile, you mean T Mobile USA or one of the many T Mobile's of Europe?
In Europe T Mobile uses the same frequencies as the other operators. In the USA, T Mobile uses a unique frequency band called AWS only used by them, and a canadian operator (and one in Chili I understood).
In total there are 5 3G frequency bands used in the world, and 4 GSM bands. Almost no phones have all bands. (In fact Nokia Symbian3 models are almost the only models that do.) Most phones have a subset only.
The Lumia 800 has 3 of these five 3G bands. But there are two models.
1) The European model (still sold through Amazon or other channels in the US,) has the 900/1900/2100 band, which makes it work in Europe, most of Asia and on most of AT&T's 3G network.
2) The US model, which has the 850/1900/2100 bands, which makes it work on AT&T, and most of Europe and parts of Asia.
Neither of these two models work on T Mobile USA.
The 710 model, when you get the US model at least, does work on T Mobile USA though.

Nokia lumia 800 video problems.

Hello, my friend in work has a nokia lumia 800 which a couple of days ago just stopped playing all kinds of videos, be it videos he has taken or on youtube or any thing!
Also xbox live doesnt open either.
Neither of us are very 'techy' so any suggestions in simple terms would be very much appreciated!

What happens upon trying to play the videos? Is there any error message or is it just showing a blank screen?
You can try to copy the videos to your computer, delete the videos on your phone and then transfer them back to the phone from your computer.
If this would fail, you may consider resetting the phone by going to Settings and then About. As this will delete all the contents of the phone, ensure to sync your files or to create a backup copy. See Reset and restore your phone found in the below link for more information as regard to syncing your files, resetting the phone and restoring the files backed up:
