Hi kleen120,
Welcome to the forum!
Do you mean the phone is now stuck on the Nokia screen and won't go through? Note that using third party apps to restore the phone's software will void its warranty, but you can still try the steps shown at this link to further isolate the issue: Troubleshooter for Nokia Lumia 800 - My phone doesn't work as expected.
Note that this link is for a specific region; it's best to try searching the troubleshooter page in your local Nokia website. Check this link for the Nokia global support page: Nokia Wayfinder. This link might also help you find a local Nokia Care Point in case the troubleshooting steps didn't work. However, charges will apply for out-of-warranty devices if repair is possible.
Let us know if you need further help.

  • Lumia 800: Firmware update 12070 not available on ...

    Hi,
I own a Nokia Lumia 800 on Telus in Canada and yesterday I just discovered the following:
The update page states that the “Update not available,” with it currently saying that version 12070 “will not be launched for this product code and/or country.”
I was expecting to get this update like everyone else, this is a big update and every owner of a Lumia 800 should get it. I'm very dissapointed by this.
Why don't we get the update? wIll we get it? and when?
    Thank you
    Sébastien

Don't worry, even in Finland, where you would think the update would be quickly available and spread the good news around the world - we wait and wait.... who cares!
I can not understand that a know fix can take about a month already to be rolled out!

  • Lumia 800 and Zune will not hold sync info

I'm going to start by getting this off my chest...AAARRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!
I've spent the past five hours getting more and more annoyed with my Lumia 800 and Zune. I'm not a newbie, I'm a software developer and a mobile geek. I regularly flash custom firmware on symbian devices and I know my way around Windows, Mac and WindowsPhone.
    Here's the problem:
I'm running Zune on Windows 7 and have a newly reset Lumia 800 on latest firmware.
I've associated a new live.com ID with the phone and also logged in to the account in Zune.
I plug in the phone to my PC and the connection looks absolutely fine.
In Zune, I drag some music from My Collection to the phone icon (lower left) and I see the message "Added 1 album" but then nothing happens. I right-click on the phone icon and see "Start sync" which I click but still nothing happens other than the "Start sync" menu item is now greyed out.
I've done all the steps of certificate removal, RSA folder renaming, reinstalling Zune, resetting the phone several times to no avail. I've tried changing the USB ports and cables.
How can such a key requirement of this Lumia device be so problematic?
If anybody can suggest anything other that what I've already tried it would be appreciated greatly.
    Cheers!
    Matt

Check whether you may have use your Lumia 800 on another PC initially so it has it's primary sync relationship with that PC.
When you connect your Lumia with your PC and Zune starts select 'phone' and verify the sync relationship which is shown below the phone image. If this says 'guest' you will have to click 'Change Sync Relationship' to move it to the PC you are using.
On any other PC you can remove the phone from the list of know devices through Settings>phone>sync options and click 'forget this phone for each phone you wish to remove. If multiple phone are known to this install of Zune you will see left and right arrows besides the phone image with which you can select the phone to change settings for.

  • Playbook will not boot even after charging

    Hi All,
I have this problem for nearly a week and can not resolve.  I think this is a MAJOR ISSUE of playbook since there are a lot of complains here but NO VALID SOLUTION is offered.  I consulted all the related posts here and tried every possible solutions but nothing works.
My Playbook can be charged until LED indicator showed a soilid GREEN.  According to Playbook manual this indicates that the battery charging process is done.  However, I can not boot up my Playbook.  When I press POWER button , LED indicator shows a red light for 4 seconds then it goes off.  LED indicator then goes dead and nothing start.
THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM OF PLAYBOOK.
My question now for everybody is:
Does anyone have this problem fixed ?
Is it worth it to pay more money to get support from RIM to fix this problem ? (because if this problem can not be fixed then I will stop using my Playbook and look for an Android tablet available on the market. If this problem can be fixed, I will give another shot...)

    Hi,
    Thanks for your quick reply.
I tried pressing Power and + and - simutaneously but nothing works.  I got several of my friends involved (some help pressing down buttons, etc)
    Here is some more observations:
1/Sometimes the LED shows a red light for 10 seconds and everything goes dead (nomre LED)
2/Sometimes while pressing 3 buttons (Power and + and -)  I heard a sound similar to the sound when you press the button capture of a digital camera but not as loud.
    Anymore idea ?
I think this a a MAJOR PROBLEM OF PLAYBOOK . RIM MUST HAVE REGCONIZED THE PROBLEM BY NOEW
    Hi,
    RIM knows about this.
Please, can you tell me what OS version do you have so I can pass it along to them? It's important.
One last thing please, have you tried holding down the power button 10 secs while charging the PB?
    Thanks

Will only start in safe mode, Safari crashes so no help there to get back to 10.6.7 and will not boot from my 10.6 SL disk. HELP! Can't find the orignal disks so I am in a bad way...

Call AppleCare and request replacement discs. You can also Zap the PRAM and Reset the SMC and see if those will fix things up. You updated to 10.6.8 w/o having a bootable backup/clone or Time Machine backup? Bad move, that.

  • Nokia Lumia 800 is off and continually vibrating.

    Hey guys,
I was just using my nokia lumia 800 normally and then it suddenly shut off. I've tried everything to get it working, soft reset, hard reset, taking the sim out, letting the battery go flat then plugging it in, but nothing worked. This has happened once before but it turned back on after 5 mins. It has been 2 days now and it is stil continually vibrating. What should I do?

Hi JulseyB, Welcome to the Nokia forum!
It sounds like you have tried most things to get it back up and running again, I have a feeling it might be a hardware failure, I suggest that you take your device to your local Nokia Care point as soon as you can to get it looked at by a specialist.
    I hope this has helped!

  • 2007 Mac Pro will not boot, even in safe mode

    Hello,
I have a Mac Pro purchased in 2007 that had been working well up until a few months ago.  I had trouble with Microsoft Word 2008 repeatedly crashing; I repaired the hard disk and moved up to Word 2011, and the problem seemed to resolve.
Yesterday, the machine crashed, and I am not able to start it up, even in safe mode.  I have tried resetting the SMC and NVRAM/PRAM, removed and cleaned the graphics card (NVIDIA 7300 GT), and removed the 3rd party RAM I installed at least 2 years ago.
When booting to the internal hard drive, the Apple logo will show, then a blue screen followed by a gray screen with a frozen cursor.  When I boot to an external hard drive or the OSX Leopard install DVD, the screen flickers like below:
When I tried to boot in safe mode while holding shift + command + V, the safe boot froze after reading:
panic (cpu 2 caller 0x2abf6a): kernal trap at 0x0029a4bc, type 14= page fault, registries:
[4 lines of 2-3 letter acronyms and numbers]
    Error code: 0x00000000
I am thinking of buying a new graphics card (ATI Radeon 5700), but I want to be sure (as much as possible) that will solve the problem I am having.  Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!
    Thank you,
    Cheryl

    replace the system drive
    always clone your system
yes dump the 7300 if you plan to keep using it and use Lion
A clean install would be nice start, on say 120GB SSD or something too
And 2x2GB FBDIMM set is $30 if you need a set
AHT is on your OEM DVD from 20007
dust, temps and air flow is also important

    1. Insert your Window installation disk and restart your computer.
    2. Choose your language settings, and then click "Next."

As the the OS was pre installed, no Windows disk is available. Have tried Windows repair, but get a similar message. • New iMac will not boot, even from disk and in Safe Mode

I'm stuck on the grey spinny screen.
    Here's what happened:
I tried to share my Macintosh HD on my network, then, when it was finished, a whole bunch of errors popped up saying that I would have to reinstall. So I restarted, now it chimes and boots to the grey screen and is stuck there. I tried to boot from the CD, but it didn't work, I also tried to use the reinstall disk which didn't work either.

    MashedPotato wrote:
Thanks for the help, All I had to do was fix the disk permissions.
I wasn't waiting long enough for it to boot from the disk.
Your welcome and thanks for the star. Yes it take longer to boot because discs are not as quick as disks.

  • IBook Mac OS 10.3.9 not booting, even crashing in single-user mode

Yeah so about 2 weeks ago my iBook started crashing, then wouldn't properly re-boot. Gradually, it would start crashing after being on for less and less time until now it gets just past the apple symbol and then freezes on a blue screen.
I've been using the online help but now it's even freezing during single-user mode, meaning i can't even perform fcsk!! I can't even boot up on the Mac OS X CD to re-install the OS. Anyone got any idea what's wrong or what I can do? Thanks, Rob

What, exactly, is preventing you from starting up from the Mac OS X install disk?
Have you added any RAM yourself? You might try taking it out to see if that helps. You might also try to run the Apple Hardware Test. Depending on which bundle of install disks you got, it may be on the Mac OS X install disk or it may be a separate CD of it's own. It should be marked "AHT" and a version number on the disk. Put that disk in the drive, restart and hold down on the "option" key. This will give you a Startup Manager that should allow you to select the hardware test and continue (click the right arrow to continue). If you can't even get that far, then you probably have a hardware failure and you'll need to take your iBook in for service. What is your location?

  • Tiger on a G5 will not boot even from the CD after PS failure

While the G5 was running, it has a abrupt power supply failure. Since it was just out of extended warranty, I bought a power supply and installed it. After pressing the power button, it only gets as far as the gray screen with the Apple logo. After a minute, the fans start on high. Trying to start on the CD, both Apple and Techtools, and the same happens. Safe mode and single user has the same effect, just to the gray screen with the Apple logo.
But when Command, Option, Shift, and Delete are held down, the screen tries to start with some text and then shows the "must restart" box similar to a kernel panic.
I can run the hardware test and the hardware checks out fine.
I tried unplugging the HD, re-setting teh PMU (if I did it correctly), and safe start. All with the same results.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks for looking.

This may be too little, too late for you, though I hope it's helpful, but maybe someone perusing this discussion might benefit:
My problem has been slightly different; my computer, after a few months of perfect operation has started to suddenly shut down.
No one has yet mentioned in this discussion that certain G5s have a hardware problem that Apple will fix for free. See:
    http://www.apple.com/support/imac/repairextensionprogram/
    and
    http://www.apple.com/support/imac/powersupply/repairextension/
My G5 apparently qualifies for this repair. Now to see if my Italian dealer will honor it . . .

  • MacBook will not boot (does not pass apple gearwheel stage)

After experiencing a freeze on my computer (couldn't access even force quit to unfreeze), I hard shut down my computer. When trying o restart, it would not pass the apple and gearwheel page, eventually the apple turned to a circle with the slash through, I think means the system will not load? I have inserted the osx DVD ( snow leopard, this system is about 2 years old) and performed disk utility to check that the hard drive is not faulty. I repaired the disk since it said there were issues (minor I think since it took very little time to repair, 7 minutes about ). Still, the issue of not loading persists. A additional problem now is that I cannot eject the osx DVD, now the computer will always boot to this DVD. Could this be am issue with another hardware component? For a while I have had a battery warning, but since the battery did not seem to be in trouble, and the MacBook continued to be useable I ignored the warning, and it had been warning me for white some time without any obvious problem. Could this be the problem now? The computer seems only to boot to the disc when it is connected to the power source.

You shouldn't have waited until now to back up. You'll lose all your files eventually if you don't. Before you do anything else, get hold of an external hard drive that you can use for backup. While booted from the DVD, but before reinstalling, select Utilities > Disk Utility from the menu bar and make a backup according to the instructions linked below. If all goes well, you won't need it. After you're back up and running, set up a permanent backup solution using Time Machine.

  • HP MS218 Not Booting - Does not POST - Cannot reach BIOS

    Hello,
I have an MS218 (product number: BR372AA #ABA) that I have been having issues with. It used to work fine (ran on WinXP), but currently will not even boot properly at all. No software or hardware changes were made to cause this problem to begin occurring, it simply just started happening one day when I went to turn the computer back on. The issue that I am currently experiencing is as follows:
    - Power stays on, but nothing is ever displayed on the screen
    - Does not post, cannot reach BIOS
    - Acts almost as if it is resetting itself constantly, the fan in the back will start to spin for a second or two, then stop, then start again, and repeat indefinitely until I unplug the power adapter.
I initially figured it was a hardware issue, likely the motherboard, and began to troubleshoot the problem. As I removed non-vital components, the problem would persist. For instance, it happens regardless of external things (keyboard, mouse, etc.) being plugged in, or regardless of the hard drive or optical drive being plugged in. It still appears to happen in the absense of memory, however, I will instead hear beep codes (likely telling me that I don't have any RAM in). Ultimately, I decided to order a replacement motherboard, which recently arrived. Upon replacing the motherboard, the exact same problems happen, which leads me to believe that the motherboard was somehow not the culprit. I have also tried multiple power adapters to no avail, as well as resetting the CMOS battery without any luck. I'm really at a loss for what to do from here, and am currently sitting on hold with HP tech support.
Any advice is welcome. Thanks in advance for your time and assistance.

    Hello Jaycera,
There are two more components that we haven't replaced or look at and I would approach them in the order listed.
    1. Power supply
    2. Processor
It sounds like it's a power issue the computer is getting enough power to start booting up and then losing it. Thus anytime I hear a power issue the first thing I think of is a power supply issue.
The other thing is it could be the processor. The computer starts booting, makes a call to the processor, fails, boots down, starts booting up, makes a call to the processor and here we are in a vicious cycle.
It could just be the processor needing reseated. Take it out, put it back in and make sure it's in properly and no pins are bent, or the processor could be bad.

if it is possible you would have to google for it as methods that you would have to use can not be discussed on this forum. also understand that it will void your warranty but you are in another country so the Hong Kong warranty does not apply to you anyway.
