LUMIA 800 update issue

My Lumia800 was bought from vodafone au. On the updates availble map sites said, my phone should already receive the update, but currently when I connected to Zune on my PC, it was still cannot receive the update, my phone is now still 1600.2483.8107.11501. What is the problem?

Hi Siweia,
Welcome to the Nokia discussion boards!
Although the update is showing available and has been pushed out to the devices, it needs the oeprator's approval and in your case, it's Vodafone AU. It may be worthwhile to contact Vodafone and ask if they could provide you more information to this update.
Let us know how you get on with this and we hope you get your update soon!

  • New Lumia 800 update has halved my new phones batt...

I installed a new nokia lumia 800 update today and it has halved the battery life of my phone, is there anyway I can uninstall this update? From a day and a half of battery life to just under 16 hours is ridiculous..

I think you need to go post this latest issue over on the Microsoft Windows Phone Answers forum.  There are Microsoft moderators over there that could possibly provide better information than you'll get here.

  • Your Battery Life after Lumia 800 Update

    Hi,
I recently updated my Lumia 800 to firmware (1600.24838106.11500) and my battery life is much much better. However, I am still not seeing an expected fixed full charge of ~ 1502mAh, which it had before the update. Nokia says it may be an issue with the phone but before I send it back could any else confirm that post update they can get a max capacity charge reading in the 1500mAh's? Could there still be a little more battery charge a firmware update could tap into for all of us or is my battery weakened by pre-update battery management? My battery at the moment polls:
    1) Battery Saver Life remaining around 1day 9hours.
    2) Battery Status Full Charge Capacity varies between ~1350 & 1420 mAh.
    3) Charging using approved Nokia Lumia 800 chargers.
    3) Three charging cycles completed.
    Cheers for the help.

    After the update and a hard reset;
The max battery ranges between 1322 and 1478
For the 1st few days I was getting about 26hrs out of it so quite a leap from 6-9hrs but this morning the phone was dead after 16hrs - with most of that time just on standby.
Plugged in the charger and there's a battery charging image but after 15 mins I still can't turn the phone on to make a call (with charger in).
During this time my Blackberry 8520 was charged up on Saturday and the battery power shows 3 bars left out of 5.
The Lumia looks really nice but I think it's covering up internal outdated junk and the only thing that's keeping it selling is smoke and mirrors marketing.
335 hrs standby time  -  nearly 2 weeks!!!
55 hrs of music playback - over 2 days!!!!
It's like they plucked the numbers out of the sky... "this will sell it"!
My phone is now coming up to 2 months old and all this "there's a patch to fix it" has proved nonsense. Sure they've increased it a little but I'm sure I could have got more life out of it by setting the brightness to low myself.

  • Lumia 800, performance issue when listening to mus...

I am using Spotify on Lumia 800. If I use any network using apps (IE, FB, Twitter) the music will pause playing (actually the play stutters) while it's getting data from internet. It happens even if I am using WLAN and I am listening to offline playlist, so it's definitely not a bandwith issue rather than phone performance issue. Any steps I could try to work around this?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

It's an issue with the spotify app, it's in need of a major update to correct issues like this. It behaves like this on non-nokia windows phones too.
The workaround I use is to make tracks available for offline listening.

  • To clarify: does the Lumia 800 update fix the batt...

    Hi all
First time poster. I've been reading these boards for a week now trying to figure out, from the various posts and their many sub-pages, whether this update is
    a) available (UK)
    b) effective
My wife and I both like the Lumia 800 but are put off by the very concerning battery and sound issues. We are happy to get one provided we can be sure the recent fix is precisely that. We were looking at O2; has anyone on O2 got the update yet, and what are your findings?
Thanks in advance for any help
p.s. another option is to wait for the 900, but from what I've read the UK release date is simply stated as Q2. Is that the latest?

Well I'm on Vodafone UK; 12070 update appears to have significantly improved mattersfor me.. These days I ignore the 'estimated time remaining' figure, as it seems to be based on tour usage in an unspecified previous period so now merely provides mild interest. However the 'remaining battery life' definitely reduces noticeably more slowly.
Usage-wise, I use functions as I need them.. I don't need 24/7 web connection so turn Cellular or Wifi on as and when. While I'll turn Cellular off asap, I'll often leave Wifi on if I'm not leaving the zone. The phone is almost always turned on; I've never yet used flight mode. Listen to music in the car, but often hook up to a charger while doing this, as I would with any mobile.
I might charge every day, sometimes every couple of days.Depends how much I've been doing.
To put it in context, my netbook (Wifi always on) battery lasts 45 MINUTES  if I'm lucky!
I like it, anyway.. 12070 has definitely enhanced my experience :-)
I also got the latest version of Drive, and while I still don't really 'do' satnav it seems to be improving by degrees. Satnav regulars have other threads going on that one I think.

  • My Lumia 800 Experience - Issues/Questions/Suggest...

    Ok.
Firstly, hi all. A few of you helped me when i had an X6, hope i get the same response now.
I have just gone from a Nokia N900 to a Lumia 800. It's a sleek, stylish phone, comfortable to use but the difference in touch sensitivity between the N900 and L800 is massive. I'll get used to it.
Firstly, a problem. It took me 3 and a half hours to get the contacts off my N900 and onto the L800. Why? The bluetooh transfer app would not work with either my N900 or the bluetooth on my Win7 laptop. Would pair, wouldn't transfer. I didn't have a LiveID so had to create one, then try to sync to Outlook, export contacts to Live via CSV file, then i could see the contacts on my phone. Wow. fuss and a half.
So. Data Transfer. Why when i have a Win7 PC and a Win7.5 phone, can i not simply drag and drop files to the L800, viewing it in Win7 Explorer as storage? Come on, that's basic. the older N900 can, why not this?
I believe my L800 is more of a MediaPhone/FriendPhone that a SmartPhone - but on that note, i cannot set an MP3 file as a ringtone or alert, unless it's under 1mb in size....really? On the same subject, i have downloaded 4 text alerts from the Free Ringtones app by Ashterisk to replace the text alerts and email alerts. They can only be found in the Ringtones setting as Custom tones....they can't be found under the New Text/IM or New Email settings....and annoyingly, a ringtone i downloaded from the same app cannot be found at all, although will play in the media player...have i done something wrong?
Themes...can they be auto-installed so you don't have to create your own tiles and then replace the standard ones on the homescreen?
Internet Explorer. I save cookies because i would like to log in to a site automatically if i have a site opened from a tile, however, if i open up IE from the standard tile, it goes to the last visited webpage, and it doesn't seem like you can set a homepage or about:blank in there. am i missing something?
the phone seems excellent, and very well put together with some neat touches, but it doesn't feel as fluid, as user-friendly as the N900....considering the N900 was a "computer" and a true SmartPhone opposed to the L800 being a MediaPhone/FriendPhone, the L800 feels like it's missing a few tricks, and it's harder to customise, both with sounds and images, and commonly used webpages etc than the N900 which seems silly seeing as i think it's aimed at a younger user than the N900.
Am i just complaining for the sake of it because it's a new phone i don't quite understand yet, or are these things that other users are thinking, like "ahhh why the heck can't i just do *that*?!"
any and all feedback appreciated, latest software in use, forum browsed through for info, although i've not spotted these issues anywhere else, i'm only human and may well have missed them.

Fuly understand what you're saying, but to me, some of the stuff mentioned should have been there from the start, basic things like the mass storage connectivity would have made things so much easier, plus using full mp3 files as ringtones - phones have been doing this for years.
Another problem i forgot about is the ability close an application. unless i'm mistaken, if i've used IE and visited several pages, i have to press the back arrow repeatedly until the app exits....there's no "close" function.
Found an issue with downloaded music being played at max volume with the volume set at 1/30, i'll have a search for the solution to that.

when lumia 800 1600.2483.8106.11500 update available for indian users?

Nokia plan to make this update available everywhere over the next two weeks. No one can say exactly when you will have it.
If in two weeks from now you still don't have it please contact Nokia care or a Nokia care centre in your country.

  • Lumia 800: Screen Issues

    Hello,
I seem to have a faulty device, and wish to confirm it. Two times now, I have noticed an artifact, where part of the screen on the left gets chipped off and appears on the right instead. This happens only for a moment or so, but obviously points to a hardware or software issue. I wonder if anybody else has this issue, and whether I should invoke my warranty in this case.
    Thanks

The same for me and my friend, both with nokia Lumia 800.
The part of image appear at the right side.... and later come back to normal.

  • Lumia 800: update w 7.5 to 7.10 makes email unable...

Hi, I updated my Lumia 800 from Windows 7.5 to Windows 7.10.8862.144
I did this some 3 weeks ago april 12. Since then I cannot read my mail accounts, no synchr. (mail accounts are diplayed in grey in the settings)
Also the icons do not indicate when I received a text message or missed call.
Connected to zune today and checked for updates again. no results in solving the problem.
Zune states the phone is up to date and software 7.10 (8862) is installed.
The lumia states software Phone 7.8. This is confusing. I was expecting 7.10.
    Mem free is > 10GB.
    Please help to solve this.

OK, that was easy to solve. It turns out that you have to turn your phone off and on after the software update.
Now both problems are solved. ........I never turn my phone off..

    Hi writemujtaba,
Thank you for your post and welcome to the forums.
The current series of Lumia devices will not be able to update to Windows phone 8 but development for the current series of Lumia devices will continue for the foreseeable future including an up coming Windows 7.8 update.
For more information please refer to the following link:

Currently no information is at hand on what the Bluetooth capabilities and protocols Windows phone 8 will support.

  • European nokea lumia 800 update

I purchased a Nokia Lumia 800 from Europe and am wondering when the update will be available for this phone.

    Hi infochick,
Thanks for your post and welcome to the forum!
We don't have information available on when an update will become available as this depends on many factors such as your operator as well as for example your specific region. We constantly bring out updates however and as soon as one become available for your particular device it will show up on your phone's screen and in Zune.
    Hope this clears things up.

  • No Lumia 800 update, but support site says it shou...

    I have a Lumia 800, Product code 059N0W6 (Sweden)
    Firmware version: 1600.2483.8107.11501
    (Windows phone connector reports 07.10.08107.3)
On the update availability page it says that the latest update IS available, but both my phone and Windows Phone Connector tell me that they can't find any update.
The phone is unlocked, and I'm using a rather obscure carrier called springmobil.
