Lumia 822 updates returning error code 80072ee2
Purchased a Lumia 822 in January. On the web, I see the current version of software for the 822 is 8.0.10211.204, hardware is 1532.5951.1250.1012 My phone is currently on 8.0.9905.12 and 1532.2108.1244.0003 It has not informed me I have any updates. I have gone into settings and requested them manually. I get a 80072ee2 message "We are currently unable to check for updates." I made sure I had +40% battery and WiFi was turned on. In May, I called Verizon, the tech didn't have a clue, got Nokia on the phone, they said it wasn't released for my area yet. It's now over a month later, still getting the error message. Does that mean the release (which has been out for AT&T customers since mid-December) still isn't available in my area yet? Or do I have a problem with my phone?
Interesting--I always started the wireless BEFORE I tried downloading the updates. This time, since you said turn off the wifi, I tried checking for the updates with the wifi off. It prompted me to turn it on--AFTER it found the updates. I did, it downloaded and updated to the current version just fine. Things the directions DON'T tell you... I still think it's odd that it never prompted me for the update even though I have checkmarked both "Tell me when updates are available for my phone" and "Automatically download updates if my data settings allow it", but at this point, I don't care. <GRIN>
Thank you!

Failed software update returns error code 0x87D00668
We are using Secunia CSI to create and publish 3rd party software update packages to SCCM 2012. I have one client computer running Windows 7 Pro x64 that is having a problem with one update. When the user tries to install the Adobe Reader update
in Software Center it fails and returns the following error.
The software change returned error code 0x87D00668(-2016410008).
I haven't been able to find any information on this error code. I was just wondering if anyone else has encountered this error and might have any information on it??The item it's referring to in that error would seem to be the task that can't be found. No?
The issue that needs to be addressed is that the updates aren't needed - they are installed on the server. I've installed the updates manually, rebooted, Software Center should not even be reporting that the updates need to be installed. And back to
the second post above, "Software update still detected as actionable after being applied" seems to be saying that it DOES see that the patch is installed. The question is then, why is it still "actionable"?
Thanks
Why do you think that they are not needed? Have you force CM to scan again for SU? Are they show as being applied in CM12? What does the Windowsupdate.log say about that SU?
I don't think it is a task that can't be found based on that single line from the log file.

I don't think the updates are needed because they are installed on the server. You will see in my above posts my reasoning for concluding that the updates are installed: "I have two security updates that are indeed installed (according to Windows Update,
the Windows Update log, and Add/remove programs), yet Software Center shows "failed" and with that exact same error of "Software update still detected as actionable after being applied".
Yes, I've forced multiple rescans (before and after reinstalling the client) over the course of a few days. Software Center still shows failed.
The Windows update log shows that it installed successfully. Here's one of lines in the log for one of the updates (in fact as far as the log goes back, 7-3, it's been saying this):
WindowsUpdate Success Content Install Installation Successful: Windows successfully installed the following update: Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 on Windows Server 2003 and Windows
XP x86 (KB2729450)
I think, again, we're back to the fact that is is installed but the issue is: "Software update still detected as actionable after being applied" seems to be saying that it DOES see that the patch is installed. The question is why is it still
"actionable"? The client sees that it's installed but ... why is it saying it's still "actionable"?
I realize that this issue might be a little tougher to track down since I couldn't find ANY other reference to it online.
Lastly, Config Manager shows "failed to install update" which is exactly what Software Center reports.
Thanks again, am happy to upload/copy/paste any logs you think would be helpful. -
RemoteApp and Desktop Connections update returns Error code: 0x80070003
I had RemoteApp and Desktop Connections working in Windows 7, but it recently started returning the following event log error.
An error occurred. Contact your workplace administrator for assistance.
Connection name: My Apps
Connection URL: https://<externalfqdn>/RDWeb/Feed/webfeed.aspx
Error code: 0x80070003, 0x0
How do I troubleshoot this? When I enter
https://<externalfqdn>/RDWeb/Feed/webfeed.aspx, I am prompted for a user name and password. When I enter the user name and password, a string of characters is returned. Is there a way to decode these characters? The only unusual
element of my install is that the <externalfqdn> is different than the windows FQDN. Both point to the same IP address. I'm not seeing any event log errors on the server. If I delete the existing RemoteApp connection, recreation of
the connection fails and no event is logged on the server OR the client.@Raymond Thanks for your reply! I made the configuration changes you suggested and attempted to logged 3 different activities.
1. On a client, enter
https://<externalfqdn-removed>/RDWeb/Feed/webfeed.aspx into "Set up a new connection with RemoteApp and Desktop Connections" and click Next. I received the error message, "An error occurred. Contact your workplace administrator for assistance."
Nothing was logged in C:\inetpub\logs\LogFiles\W3SVC1\*.log or C:\Windows\Web\RDWeb\App_Data\RDWeb.log.
2. On a client, enter
https://<externalfqdn-removed>/RDWeb/Feed/webfeed.aspx into Internet Explorer 9. An encrypted security ticket is returned. Nothing was logged in C:\Windows\Web\RDWeb\App_Data\RDWeb.log. The following was logged in C:\inetpub\logs\LogFiles\W3SVC1\*.log.

I'm sure you have guessed by the log pasted below, that the MS Safety Scanner did not find anything to correct on my computer.
I believe the first line is the version information you were requesting be included in the log. Your help has been Mowst appreciated.

Report
CWERReporter finishing event handling. (00000000) -
When updating windows 7 i get error code 80072ee2. What is it and how do i fix it?
When updating windows 7 I get the following response:
Windows could not search for updates
An error occurred while checking for updates for your computer
error(s) found
code 80072ee2 windows encountered an unknown error
click here to get help with this error
When I do this - get help - the "fix" doesn't fix it and I eventually come back to this same window
The last time I was able to update windows 7 was in December 2011.
This same problem has happened before but the "fix" fixed it some time.
I get the same error when I open internet explorer.Hi,
I don't know the exact fix for your problem, but there is a thread on the Microsoft answers page that talks about this error message being related to a particular key.
And if you remove that key, you can fix Windows update. See below for the detailed information and scroll to the bottom to see where someone found the fix:
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_other-windows_update/windows-update-error-code-80072ee2/fb87f203-69d9-4cd5-bbb1-ba8d0781be3e
Thanks,
Michelle -
I have rolled out bunch of updates across few hundred workstation systems.
Few of the desktops have failed to install SOME of the updates and just can't get my head around as to why?
Looking at one of the workstations, I can see 5 updates are pending download at 0%.
Some of these fail after a while and with in Software Centre, I can see 'Help with updates - The software change returned error code 0x87D00215(-2016411115).'. Not exactly sure what this means, but I have tried clearing the cache and
rebooting the workstations few times.
(I have also tried to use Windows Update and install one of these manually, which worked.)Investigating this further, I have found the following in CAS.log:

Creative Cloud desktop failed to update.(Error code: 1)
Hello, I'm running a MacBook Pro Retina with Yosemite 10.10.2. I tried to update Creative Cloud Desktop manager and then tried to cancel it (it was killing my bandwidth while I was trying to work). It disappeared from the bar at the top of the OSx screen.
I couldn't get it back. I restarted my machine. When I clicked on Creative Cloud this time, I was prompted to update, but almost immediately got an error. There are other mentions of Error Code 1 on the forum, but they appear to be first time installations, not updates. Suggestions welcome! Thanks
Creative Cloud desktop failed to update.(Error code: 1)
Update:
Still no success. I tried the instructions here: Error "Failed to Install" Creative Cloud Desktop application which says to uninstall Creative Cloud. I got an error: "Unable to uninstall Creative Cloud Desktop. Quit Creative Cloud desktop and try again." But CC desktop is not running. I had a look in activity monitor and didn't see anything.Okay - I think I resolved this by closing some stalled processes in Activity Monitor, then restarting Creative Cloud desktop, then updating in the normal way.

::getpeername() returns error code 10057 (on a connected socket)
Hi, I am blocked on this issue and cannot find a solution by myself. Maybe someone has encountered a similar issue and could provide some hints.
Calling ::getpeername() (Win 7 x64) on an accepted (and open!) socket connection returns error code 10057 (for code details, please see the code snippet attached):
"A request to send or receive data was disallowed because the socket is not connected and (when sending on a datagram socket using a sendto call) no address was supplied."
Any ideas why ::getpeername() fails with 10057 although ::getsockopt() says the socket is connected?
Best regards, M.
--- sample code snippet - begin - error handling left out for simplicity ---
//accept call looks like this (call is asynchronous!):
BOOL res = ::AcceptEx(_listenSocket, _socket, &_addrBuffer[0],0, 16+sizeof(SOCKADDR_STORAGE), 16+sizeof(SOCKADDR_STORAGE), &transfered, (LPOVERLAPPED)&_ov);
// wait until the (previously accepted) socket is connected:
INT seconds = 0;
INT bytes = sizeof(seconds);
int iResult = 0;
do
iResult = ::getsockopt(_socket, SOL_SOCKET, SO_CONNECT_TIME, (char *)&seconds, (PINT)&bytes);
} while (seconds == -1 && iResult != SOCKET_ERROR);
// now the socket should be connected, let's call ::getpeername():
sockaddr remoteAddr = { 0 };
socklen_t peeraddrlen = sizeof(remoteAddr);
if (::getpeername(_socket, &remoteAddr, &peeraddrlen) == SOCKET_ERROR)
int errno = getLastSocketError(); // this errno is 10057
--- code snippet - end ---You also have to set the SO_UPDATE_ACCEPT_CONTEXT option on the socket before you can use getpeername. Mike L [MSFT] has provided a
community addition note (entitled "Does not work on accepted sockets without calling setsockopt() first") to
the documentation of getpeername to this effect.
The details of this particular quirk are described in the documentation for AcceptEx.
