LUMIA 900 - Sound Problem

I have posted my findings in the lumia 800 problem but thought I would make a another post Just to highlight the problem with the Lumia 900 as well.
My One Day Old lumia 900 was struggling with the sound from speaker and by the end of the day there was no sound coming from the phone speaker.
But I have found out that if you press between the WINDOWS LOGO KEY and the SEARCH BUTTON the sound comes out just fine.
So This is Basically a Hardware Fault on behalf of Nokia as this seems to be a loose Connection somewhere inside the phone.
I have emailed support and will take the phone back to Phones4U from whom I purchased the phone and will keep you guys updated as to how things turned up.
I am really sad about the events as I was quiet Happy with my purchase.

I had the same problem in my lumia 900. So what i did is first figured out different sound cercuits available to it and check all the options. At last i suceeded. I turned on the alaram and as soon as it rang, it opened up other channels. So give it a try...

Lumia 900 digitizer problem

I have a lumia 900, I bought it like a month ago while still having wp7.5 installed, now I have like 2 weeks since I update it to wp7.8, so the problem relies with the touchscreen, because I didn't notice it before but since I have wp7.8 while I am using the phone with the screen turned on for a while, like watching movies or web browsing it gaming, the screen starts to detect random touch inputs, just like if i were touching repeatedly, but I'm not. So I was wondering if someone have the same issue because I doesn't happens always, is kind of erratic... Could it be hardware or software problem???

If you use the phone with headphones attached does the problem stop?
If so they your phone has a hardware issue that occurs when loud sounds are played through the loudspeaker. You should take it to the retailer or a Nokia care point.

Is the behavior the same if you have a headset connected to the phone? Are you getting any sound upon listening/streaming music/videos?

Can anyone tell me why this is happening

Lumia 900 bluetooth problem

have had the 900 for almost a year works great until today , it pairs with anything my car kenwood dnx60 all of my ear bt but when i make or receive a call i cant hear it in my ear or through the car speakers when its paired to the car. Ive check all the settings in the car even tried a iphone it works just great . paired my ear bt to the iphone ... it worked just fine . i up dated the 900 looked at all of the settings again . still cant hear it in my ear or hear it in my car. has anyone had a similar problem ??? im about to go postal

Lumia 800 Sound problems on call

Hello guys.
I wanted to know if anyone has ever happened to this thing with this beautiful terminal.
Many times when I answer a call can not hear who's calling me and after many tests I noticed that, if when I answer I hear a noise as if it were turned on and off for a moment on the speakerphone, it means that I will present this problem and the only thing to hear the other person is to activate and deactivate the speakerphone.

Since you have already checked settings and reset the phone and the problem still persists, then it is very likely a hardware problem. Perhaps it is time to pay a visit to your local Nokia Care Point. You can locate your nearest care point using th link below.

Lumia 900 Cellular Connectivity problem (AT&T) aft...

I've had a Lumia 900 on AT&T for about 5 months and have not had any connection problems. However, after the Tango update (OS *.8779.*; Firmware: *.12223), when I take my phone into work (which has no cellular reception normally) for an extended time and then take it outside it will sporadically not reconnect to the cell tower. It will show no connection forever. If I turn airplane mode on then off or turn off and then on the data connection, which seemed to fix similar problems before, I still get no connection.
The only solution is to restart my phone. One time it kind of hung on restart. The other time the phone froze up when I was trying to turn on/off the data connection. Restarting brings the cellular connection back. (Almost as if whatever software is controlling the cellular connection is crashing).
*I also installed the beta Nokia Counters program after the update -so that may be the problem too?
Has anyone else experienced this before. Is it a Tango issue, or a common issue that coincidentally started for me after the update?

I am having a similar issues with Wifi & cellular connectivity Issues. In addition, am seeing that my Lumia 900's screen is turning black with no response from the power button or any other buttons (bottom buttons will be light though). I have to reset the phone by pressing volume power camera buttons. And one or two times today it had issues restarting cycling the Nokia logo, AT&T logo, then black screen about three to four times before it showed the Windows Phone logo to fully boot up.
Totally Disappointed.

Lumia 900 problem

I drop the Lumia 900 in water i was in a rush it was stupid to leave it by the shower.
can anything be done to fix it by nokia the screen works but the touch function does not.
an the input jack does not work as well. Ill pay for a new replacement if thats whats needed.
I love this phone an still have months left on my contract hate to lose it now.

Best thing I can recommend is to visit your local Nokia care point and let one of the engineers inspect the device. Please be aware any repairs made will be chargeable but you will be given a cost first before you decided whether you wish to repair it or not.

Having problem with my Nokia Lumia 900

hi i wonder if you could help me i'm trying to check in on my facebook and it keeps saying that theirs a problem and to try again which i have done a number of times but still having the same problem.
and my other problem is when ever i turn my nokia lumia 900 off then on it comes up no service and stays like that for a while then changes to orange which is the network that i'm on the mobile is'nt new it use to be a contract mobile my son brought it for me off a friend and the guy that he brought it off put all new software on it and i'm just sick of it coming up no service when i turn it off then on. please help.

Try uninstall - reinstall of the HERE Maps and HERE Drive+ applications .. Also delete any maps data .. and reinstall fresh maps ..

Lumia 900: Bugs I wish to make known for future s...

Proud owner of a Nokia Lumia 900 (matte black). Beautiful phone but I'd like to report some bugs:
A) Audio Sound: Way too low for audio out to either a headphone or listening through the auxillary port in my car. I use my phone at the gym and while the audio is clear it's way too quiet even at 30/30. In my car I have to crank up the volume really high to hear my music. My previous Samsung and Apple devices always sounded loud and clear compared to the Lumia.
B) Tiles don't always open completely: Several times when I click on a live tile the app starts to load then it just goes back to the homescreen. I'll repeat the task and the same thing happens again and again until I reboot. Also sometimes when playing music apps like Spotify, Slacker or TuneIn the apps will play in the background but when I go back in to try to pause them I can't. The app won't reload and it's not found when I hit the back arrow. Again I have to reboot to regain control of my phone.
C) Poor data streaming performance even with good signal: AT&T's network rocks in my area. Very solid. But since I've started using the Lumia I've noticed that streaming data often pauses or freezes for no reason. Usually by relaunching the stream it returns only to cut out again without recovering on its own. Yes my device has the software update that was shortly released after launch and this happens on several streaming apps. If I was new to AT&T I might be inclined to blame their network for this but I've been using them for a long time and have several devices that I've used without this issue.
D) Camera: For a device with Carl Zeiss optics it performs average or below average compared to competitors like HTC or Apple. Needs better support for those with shaky hands and for less than ideal lighting situations.
That's about it. Everything else I love about this phone. I'm hoping Nokia can take feedback like mine and use it to improve their product line over time. We're picky here in the US and we like out products bigger and better than everyone else. We also are a gadget driven country and we'll pay more to have the best.

Yeah, but do not expect to see those changes on your current Windows 7 phone. If those issues are adressed they will most certainly only be fixed on Windows Phone 8

How to view photos in a text message on Lumia 900

I just got the Lumia 900 and when I am sent a pic through text messaging it says "Get media content now". I click that and after a moment, it vibrates and makes a sound but nothing else happens and the picture is not in my album. Can someone tell me what is wrong at all?

Have you enabled data as pictures won't download without a data connection. If you have enabled data then it's to do with your settings for MMS for which any number of things could be causing a problem either the phone or your net work provider, try searching MMS settings. You could try running the famous "Network set up" app.

Lumia 900: Speaker volume too loud, headphone volu...

I know this issue has been posted before, but I wanted to see if there are any updates. There was a firmware update to fix the purple hue problem, and was hoping this that this issue would be resolved along with it, but no such luck. The external speaker cannot get quieter than 7/30. Anything below that seems to do little or nothing. The alarms are scary loud even at 1/30. I can't turn music at work because even the lowest volume is WAY too high.
The other problem is that the volume out of the headphone jack is way too soft. I have to bring the volume up to 30/30 to not have to crank the volume to a deafening level in the car, for example. If I forget to bring the volume down to 1/10 when I get out of the car, I get startled by a loud notification. It's a constant game of going from 1/30 to 30/30 and back to 1/30. It is very frustrating! Can we expect a fix for this sometime soon?

I agree there is a volume bug on the Lumia 900 - I have had my black Lumia for about 5-6 days now. I used my previous phones as my alarm in the morning and wanted to continue to do the same with this device. With the preinstalled alarms app, regardless of whether I have the volume at 1/30 , 15/30 or 25/30, when the alarm sounds it is incredibly loud. Not a very good way to wake up in t he morning so I am currently still using my IPhone as my alarm clock. Let's get a bug fix out for this Nokia; I am having to use a 3GS to pick up your slack.

Speaker fault on 3 x New Lumia 900 phones what the...

Got a new lumia 900 - was switched on for 2 hours, maybe 1 or 2 calls and internal speaker stopped working. Got that replaced 4 days past - was only on bluetooth speaker in car for that time and same problem again. Got another new replacement this afternoon and 1st incoming call guess what????? bloody internal speaker stopped working on this one also!!!! and both the folks at Nokia and a customer compain that I sound like I'm underwater when using the speakerphone!!!

Sounds like the detector in the headphone jack is stuck. Use a cottonswab with a bit of alcohol to clean it out and see if it works.

Lumia 900 video in

Is there a way to get video from a different source, say an NTSC camera or DVD player into the Lumia 900? I see Hauppage makes a USB video input device. The Hauppage device only seems to interface with Windows on a PC and it would need a USB-micro adapter. I would like to use the 900 as a display device in my car for a parking camera and use the GPS while driving.
A bluetooth or Wifi input connection would be even better.

Just to add the Main rear camera resolution is 1280x720 (720p HD) while the front (as psychomania has stated) is only really for video calling and its resolution is 640x480(VGA).
When recording on the main camera at 720p resolution the file format is a .mp4 file.
The Audio codec used when recording with the main camera is AAC (Advanced Audio codec) with 2 channel stereo with a sampling rate of 48khz with a variable bitrate in around the 90kbs region. What you will need to do is to find out if this application Sony Vegas supports this audio codec, if not then you will need to convert to the sound everytime. Also just to ask if you play your Lumia recorded video files through the P.C using the standard media player (Windows media player) do you hear any sound?

Lumia 900 bluetooth connection drop

I have a Flyaudio multimedia head unit (type 80054A1) in my car and I just recently bought a Nokia Lumia 900 with 7.5 software version. The problem is that it connects the phone, finds the call records etc etc, seems everything is working fine. And then it starts droppng the connection - maybe a 30 seconds and the connection is lost, then another 15 second or so and the connections is back on, and so it repeats itself the whole day. I updated the phone to 7.8 and still the same continues. At the same time, my wife's phone stays on connected the whole time, as do other friends who have tried this. As far as I have checked all of the phones have BT 2.1+EDR (the multimedia unit itself is 2.0+EDR). So it should work fine, but for my Nokia it isn't.
Please help me as this is geting totally frustrating.

Have you already verified this to your car's manufacturer if the Lumia 900 is compatible with its Bluetooth? You can also try to soft reset your phone by pressing and holding the Power button for 10 seconds. After it’s off, press the power button to turn on your phone again.
