Am unable to update my nokia lumia 900. Zune says ur software version is upto date. current phone version 7.10 (8779).

Where the **bleep** is the Windows Phone 7.8 update? Why is it not available for my mom's cell phone?
I have been a loyola Nokia customer for years and years...I even had the NGage.
I'm about to give up on this piece of **bleep** company. Why is this update not available? And why does it seem like no one from Nokia is listening?
I'm done with Nokia. Moving on to Samsung Galaxy S4...better luck next time Finland. Eat me.

Lumia 1020 Unable to update - error 80072ee7

Hi, I'm in the UK and have a Lumia 1020 on the 3 UK network which I'm currently unable to perform an update with. I understand Cyan / 8.1 is available.
Current status:
Software release: Lumia Black
OS version: 8.0.10517.150
Firmware revision number: 3051.40000.1345.1003
Phone Update:
I have 'Automatically download updates if my data setting allow it' selected. My data settings allow data connection.
Update status: We are currently unable to check for updates. (80072ee7)
If I press 'check for updates' I get 'Checking for updates' for a very long time if i keep the screen active by tamping on blank area of screen (10+ minute). Eventually the I relise I've got better things to do and the screen times out. When I unlock the device I get the above 80072ee7 error again.
I've followed various advice on support sites including http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/how-to/wp8/basics/solutions-to-update-issues as follows:
- Checked date and time
- Disconected wifi, restarted phone and reconnected wifi
- Tried a different wifi network
- Disconnected Wifi and attempted network data connection update
- Cleared space on phone (currently 12.8Gb free)
- Ensured suffecient charge on device including 100% and plugged into mains
All result in the above error message.
Any help appreciated.

It would be useful to know if there are any repercussions to forcing an update through like that?
The phone now happily checks for updates btw

Lumia 610 - unable to update

BTW, make sure to disable your PC's firewall and antivirus programs, and sign in as an administrator.

Unlocked Lumia 900 updates...

Apologies if this has been asked and answered already - couldn't find an answer
I purchased a Lumia 900 outright unlocked from a phone retailer. My 900 has the Rogers (Canada) splashscreen when booting up.
I use my phone in Australia and each site I go to to investigate my question says the Lumia 900 has no updates but then there's others saying Tango is already shipped on the Lumia 900.
I understand that unlocked devices are updated directly from Nokia (not via a Carrier), and I have connected and checked several times with Zune however no updates.
My phone details are
(Still says) Carrier: Rogers CA SW Variant ID106 v.02
OS Version: 7.10.8107.79
Firmware revision number: 2175.1002.8107.12084
Radio software version: 2.1.75.10
My question, is my device missing update/s it should be getting or not and if/when is it likely that Nokia will rollout global update/s for the Lumia 900's that are unlocked?

My Lumia was purchased from one of the first shipments of unlocked devices from Hong Kong (purchased from Australia for Australia). After the first batch the 'generic' Lumia 900 devices were released such as aspergerguy displays.
Fingers Crossed that when Rogers does make the Tango update available I'll get it via Zune.

My Zune software does not display this update. Why so?

Lumia 900 - Updated to 7.8 - can't change icon siz...

After updating my Lumia 900 phone to 7.8, I don't see the second icon in the lower right to change the size of the icons? Am I missing a setting or something? I click and hold down an icon, but I only see the unpin icon in the top right.

Your Nokia Lumia 900 was updated to 7.5 CR3 (Tango). The 7.8 update has not yet been released. It is still under development and destined for release later this year.
You can check your version number under Settings > About.

Lumia 900 update to W7.8

I bought a Lumia 900 on Ebay a week ago. It turned out that it was an unlocked AT&T (unlocking code supplied as well). Apart from Drive I'm very satisfied with it. I have found, installed & mostly tried the apps I need. (Why is MS using an Apple term, call them programs?) However, I have not yet been able to install W 7.8, there are a couple of new features I would like to have. I have managed to update to 7.10 (8779). I have tried forced update but to no avail.
Anybody has any similar - solved - experience.

The term app has existed before the iPhone. It's simply short for application.
Microsoft has stopped the rollout of 7.8 for the time being to fix issues with the update. Turn on update checking in Settings>phone update to have your phone notify you of when the update is available.

You cant update if your carrier has not approved it or its not available in your region.

hi mate, do you have an Indian country variant 720 do you? i would check this and also liaise with Nokia Care in your country directly as to the status of the update. if the update has just been published recently, then it can take a few weeks before it rolls out as it is a phased roll-out.

Otherwise, your phone might be running on a custom firmware made exclusively to your network provider and the update for it might have not been released yet.

Lumia 900 update error 80070424

I have just bought Nokia Lumia 900, and everything works and looks very well. But the phone won´t update its firmware (current version is the factory preset of 2175.2101.8779.12201).
ZUNE update procedure keeps bombarding me with 80070424 error. Already tried restarts (both computer and phone), antivirus / firewall settings, and different wifi networks available for connection. Please advise.

Take a look at this article form MS for the exact error code you have. Hope this helps

Update 7.10.8773.98 for Lumia 900

Just wanted to put this out there as I wondered if anyone else was having the same issues as me since there latest update (which took embarrassingly a good 30minutes to do)
Since the update my phone is struggling to coupe with even scrolling through and screen, it lags very horribly and is very frustrating when on the home screen and need to get to the bottom tiles but seems to only let you scroll one line of tiles at a time . . . Also very,very annoying with the lock screen because it drops before it lets you attempt to catch it on the lag to unlock.
Problems with market keeps showing me errors when wanting to download anything, usually I have to press through the errors three times, Same thing happens when trying to sync my emails. . .
Web pages do not always display first time normally have to refresh a few times.
Also this has always happened even before the update, every couple of weeks my phone shows as call divert symbol but when you go into the menu to see if it is, it really isn't so you have to put it on divert and undivert in order to return to normal.
Just wander if anyone else had issues at all?

Have seen scrolling issue reported but as my Lumia 900 on OS 7.10.8779.8 is fine not sure whether this issue only appertains to OS 7.10.8773.98

Cannot update lumia 900

i saw that update 7.8 is available for the lumia 900. I bought the Att version state side, but when i check on zune it says it's up to date. What's the deal, nokia site says update is available for the att lumia 900.

It is available for the Lumia 900 but updates for network branded handsets have to be localised and approved by the network, hence a possible delay. You should try contacting AT&T to ask them when they intend to approve it.

i am currently in india and use nokia lumia 900. i got this lumia from usa and thus it has a different RM (radio module) than is used in india... i want to know whether i will be eligible for 7.8 update..... i was told that i would not be able to use nokia music because of the above mentioned fact...... so i really want to know whether my device in india is compatible with 7.8 update

This is ridiculous. I don't see any notification for update either. Why do you say it's April when it's already May and nothing's been happening. I have Lumia 900 with ATT as well. The thing is, I bought the phone because I was told that it's Windows-8 upgradable last year. Then it's not. Then a promis for Windows Phone 7.8 early Spring. Then now. Then nothing. I don't think I will buy a Nokia/MS ever again. This is the reason your company sinks so much, Nokia. Look at Apple. You won't see this ridiculous type of issues...

You decided to drag you feet, promote the crap out of Android and stop supporting Windows Phone 7.
So I converted 10 of my family members over yesterday to AT&T for the Nokia Lumia 900.
I got them $100 credit towards the Nokia Lumia 900 which AT&T was charging $99 dollars for the phone on Pre-Order.
So my family members only had to pay $36 for the activation fee.
Verizon, you had your chance. You had multiple chances. If you truly wanted an LTE Windows Phone 7 from Microsoft, you could have easily worked something out with them, just like AT&T did.
All the information has been leaked out, Apollo/Windows Phone 8 was supposed to have LTE but because AT&T showed that they really were interested in Windows Phone 7 and actually carring a lineup of Windows Phone 7, Microsoft worked it out for them.
So you can take all your Droid crap that you have heavily invested in, along with all your iPhone 4s that keep hogging all the bandwidth on your network and stick it were the sun don't shine.
I promise you this, when my contract is done I will be terminating my account in FULL and switching over to AT&T as well.
To not even stand behind a product that we all have signed 2 year contracts with is unacceptable for the price were paying. To hold back all updates besides Mango is unacceptable just to lock in new 2 year contracts. And I'm talking about Droid too.
Carriers should not be in controll of phone updates PERIOD!!! Updates should be released from the OS Manufactures just like on computers. This business model that the industry has created is a SCAM, JOKE and an INSULT to everyone that puts there hard earned money up for phone service.
Verizon, you have lost all respect in my book, and I will do everything possible to get everyone and everybody I talk to away from your network.
Only way to solve this issue is to address the Windows Phone 7 community and actually annouce something, PERIOD!!! Release the 8107 update as a good faith measure and issue a press release stating your business model regarding Windows Phone 7... Unless you want more dollars going to AT&T.
Also, latest news shows that Android only made $22million in revenues last year, and spend $20 billion acquiring Motorola. So I don't see Andriod being able to do much in the year 2012 to ramp things up to compete against Windows Phone 7/Nokia and Apple.

Again, where are you getting this information? The AT&T ETF is $325 less $10 for each month of your contract which has been completed. It is NOT $35. Verizon has a similar, although slightly higher ETF of $350 less $10 for each month of your contract which has been completed.
