Lumia 900 - Visual indicator for received messages...

What settings do I have to modify to have a visual indicator that I have received an email or call?
If you've been away, when you come back, how do you see there is a missed call or message?
It flashes when it comes in but goes back to black in a few seconds.

Ok, so I see there is not any LED that could be used as an indicator for received messages or calls. Shame.
Thinking about this mayor fraud, you lost it Nokia, and trying to be creative I think we could do something to ammend the issue.
Could someone write an app that smoothly fade in and out the Windows logo at the botton of the device?
I will need to look into Microsoft's sdk and see what they allow to do, perhaps I could write such an app.
If there are more developers out there that could look into this that will be great.

    I have a Galaxy SIII and recently stopped receiving visual notification for text messages.  How do I correct it?

        Hmmm that's strange TopDiver. Let's get to the bottom of this. Have you checked the notification settings on the device? To verify the notification setting on the device click on menu>settings>sound>notification sound, then test device notifications.

  • The Mq Adapter Is Not Working For Receiving Messages

    Hi,

  • No visual indicator for audio playback, after waking computer from sleep

    I am using iTunes 11.1.3 on Lion 10.7.5.
    After my computer has been asleep and I wake it, I get no visual indicator for a song playing In the big square in the top middle of the window). There's only the Apple logo, as if no song was playing.
    Relaunching iTunes fixes the problem, but then it appears after the computer has been asleep again.
    Screenshot of a song playing, with no indication of this in the top square

    That Did The Trick...
    Putting Airport Service First, and the putting My Network First on the list.
    Airport Service WAS NOT the first. That Was Bluetooth.

  • Configure plain http adapter for receiving message from an external system

    Hi,
    we use Pi/700.
    Now I have an external system and I have to use HTTP (plain) to send messages to XI (via plain http adapter).
    I have no experiences with HTTP!
    In the external system I can only configure "URL, Username, Password" for sending messages - that's all!
    What do I have to configure in XI (communication channel, abap-stack, java-stack,...)?
    I don't know the URL of my XI-system. Is there an transaction code to get this information?
    Why do I need a Username/Pasword?
    For testing I can use a "http-post test tool" I found here in this forum.
    Thank you all for any help!
    Regards
    Wolfgang

    Hi Hummel,
    In Exteranl System u have to use these values
    name="myhost"      value="xiserver"
    name="myport"      value="8000"
    name="mysystem"    value="XY_BSservice"
    name="myinterface" value="Order_out"
    name="mynamespace" value="urn:xi:hcl:powebapp"
    name="myqos"       value="BE"
    name="myclient"    value="300"
    name="myuser"      value="XYZCLNT"
    name="mypass"      value="xiuser"
    Here My system is the Business service created in Integration directory of XI, Interface is the one created in Integration Repository (This is Outbaound from external sys to XI)
    In XI U have to create
    Data Types : 1) Source Structure data type(from extenal sys)
                 2) Target structure (where u want to send from XI)
    Message Types : 2 with above DT's
    Message Interface: 1) Outbound, Async (Order_out)
                       2) Inbound , Async (for the target sys)
    Then Message mapping and Interface mapping as usual..
    And in ID u have to create 2 services one is XY_BSservice for sending system and the other is for receiving system...
    For sending system no communication channel required...
    Hope u will get idea from the above..
    Need any further u r welcome..

  • Adding new text audio for receiving messages

    Does anyone know if/how to add new sounds, or even songs for receiving text messages on original iPhone

    Not possible I'm afraid.

  • No notification for received messages

    Hello all, I've been having some trouble recently with my messages. Basically, I no longer receive the red notifications on the spotify icon nor the blue notifications on the inbox in spotify whenever I receive a message, forcing me to check often to see if someone has messaged me. This is a total pain when messaging someone while doing something else concurrently. The only time I receive the red notification (on the icon) or the blue notification (on the inbox) is whenever I start spotify up. Otherwise, I am never notified when I receive a message. Additionally, I have the omnipresent problem of the eternal notification. Once I get the red/blue notification it stays there for my entire session. Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone know how to fix this? I use the message function frequently to chat with a handful of people and I would really love to see it working again. And if this is a double post, I am so sorry to all of the moderators. I know this makes your blood boil. Thanks!

    Both my girl friend and I are having this same problem. We are having to manually check our inbox for messages from eachother. The only time I get a notificaiton is if she send a message the previous day and I didn't read it prior to leaving & boot up my computer. Only then will I get a blue (I use Win7 Pro on a PC) notification upon Spotify starting. We both even uninstalled and reinstalled Spotify to see if there was a problem with the program and to make sure we had the latest version.  We are using 1.0.11.134.ga37df67b.  GRRR someone please fix this ASAP!

  • Can't verify email address for receiving messages in Messages and FaceTime

    In the Preferences for Messages you can set additional email addresses that others can use when sending Messages and FaceTime messages. Apple sends a verification email to the email addresses you add. I have been able to complete this process for three out of four email addresses. Two of those I added today.
    The address I use the most, my long-time email address with my ISP Verizon, repeadedly fails in the process. First, the Preferences panel says 'Email sent'. Then it says 'Waiting to verify' with a link to Details. Apple's verification message never arrives in my Verizon mailbox.
    At one time (pre-Mavericks?) this email worked with Messages and FaceTime, it is the address I use for iTunes purchases. I have checked the Verizon email site for Spam or blocked email addresses. Nothing there.
    Any magic you can suggest?

    Hi,
    It does seem strange that the email works in one place and not another.
    Having said that I have had an email as an Apple ID in the past then the security requirements have changed and whilst it works in some places it often needs you to verify for use in a new place.
    Whilst any login to any Apple Service does check the ID and password with a central database each service is run on it's own servers.
    this leads to some almost two step issues where an ID already in use is not asked to up it's security but a new app can be almost blocked.
    If you go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and use the Manage option to login to that ID is it showing Verified there ?
    AS an Apple ID was there a a recovery email that was linked to it ?
    Do you still have access to that ?  It might be where the email was sent.

  • My Lumia 900 rattles when it vibrates. Can it be ...

    I have already exchanged my white Lumia 900 multiple times for other more serious issues that the rattle, and do not want to exchange it anymore.  (There is no full backup for the Lumia 900 and reloading all the apps, app data, and settings is getting really old...)
    My second Lumia 900 didn't have any rattle but unfortunately had to be returned for another problem.
    It is possible to send my current handset in to get the rattle repaired?
    -Paul

    You'll likely need to contact the store you purchased the phone from in Hong Kong. We're all just users here and none of us would know......

  • Cannot update lumia 900

    Hej,
    i saw that update 7.8 is available for the lumia 900. I bought the Att version state side, but when i check on zune it says it's up to date. What's the deal, nokia site says update is available for the att lumia 900.

    It is available for the Lumia 900 but updates for network branded handsets have to be localised and approved by the network, hence a possible delay. You should try contacting AT&T to ask them when they intend to approve it.

  • How to view photos in a text message on Lumia 900

    I just got the Lumia 900 and when I am sent a pic through text messaging it says "Get media content now". I click that and after a moment, it vibrates and makes a sound but nothing else happens and the picture is not in my album. Can someone tell me what is wrong at all?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Have you enabled data as pictures won't download without a data connection. If you have enabled data then it's to do with your settings for MMS for which any number of things could be causing a problem either the phone or your net work provider, try searching MMS settings. You could try running the famous "Network set up" app.

  • Need bigger keyboard for Lumia 900

    I have a Lumia 900 and need a bigger keyboard for my big thumbs, but I do not have these options :-(
    Why do they waste all that space and make the keyboard small in landscape?
    I wish I could turn off predictive/auto correct too!
    Moderator's notes: The post was edited. A more appropriate subject is provided.

    Hi whyisitsohard,
    Welcome to Nokia Support Discussions!
    Let's start with your concern on the keyboard size of the Lumia 900. Unfortunately, there's no setting on the phone to increase the size of the keyboard. Alternatively, I would suggest using landscape mode when typing a text message. This is because the letters are wider compared when using it in a portrait mode.
    For the predictive text or auto correct tool, you can disable it by following these steps:
    1. Go to Settings
    2. Tap on Keyboard
    3. Tap on typing settings
    4. Tap on Keyboard, which is located above the Typing improvement section
    5. Remove the check mark for the "Suggest text and highlight misspelled words". You also have the option to disable other keyboard settings.
    Hope this helps.

    However, I rarely, if ever (I can't say for sure), get a "New" sign next to my messages.  Just the other day, I saw on the local weather channel a message about channels being moved.  I went into the Menu, and saw that there was no indication that I had a new message.  However, I clicked on the Message prompt anyway, and low and behold, there was a new message about the same channel changes.  When I selected "Save as New" (or something like that) in the options for that message, it now says "New" next to the messages prompt.  However, it was not there to begin with, and I can't say I ever recall it being there when I have had new messages.  Normally, I just make it a point to check the Messages prompt every few weeks, and I will see that I have messages waiting for me.  I do this because I can't remember seeing a "New" message prompt.
    Has anyone else experienced this issue, namely, that you don't receive an indication that you have new messages (again, this is not about a light that shows up on your STB, this is the "NEW" indicator)?  If so, is there some way to get it to start showing up?  There doesn't seem to be anything in the Menu Guide regarding a new message indicator setting.  I would appreciate any information anyone can provide.  Thanks.
