Lumia 920 - Black update problems, slow app respon...

I have had a lumia for well over a year in the UK, I updated to the black update a week ago, and the phone became completely unresponsive, similar to theDej's problem here: http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Nokia-Lumia/Phone-inoperative-after-lumia-black-update/m-p/2372351/h...
However, I contacted the carrier (EE) and they replaced the handset. I set up the replacement handset, which then prompted for the update, and I took the plunge and applied it again.
Now, although the handset mostly works, some apps have stopped functioning, and most importantly the WiFi settings and Bluetooth settings pages often become completely unresponsive, drop their connections, and dont show any available connections, so I cant reconnect to WiFi or bluetooth without restarting the phone. Also on some occasions, turning off the phone shows the "goodbye" screen, but either doesn't turn off and returns to the home screen or it magically restarts without me pressing the power button.
Has anyone come across any issues like this, is there anything I can do?

Please, try the Nokia Software Recovery Tool and report your results. We have a lot of Bluetooth/Wi-Fi issues reports since Lumia Black – no problem here. However, we have so many, sounds like several different issues.

Lumia 920, Black update, and Internet sharing not ...

I have a pair of Lumia 920s, both the developer edition given out at Microsoft Build 2012. Both updated to Lumia Black/gddr3 yesterday without any issues, both running on AT&T.
however, on one of them, the Internet Sharing no longer works, while on the other, it still works fine. I have swapped sim cards, and the problem stays with the one specific phone, and is not tied to the line.
I have reset and wiped the phone, and tried to reconfigure it (including reinstalling the spanish/mexico keyboard, which has solved this problem in the past).
I have checked access point configuration, and both match. Both are running on LTE. I'm at a loss how to get it working again, as I've been through everything that I know of to make it work.
Any thoughts?

I have the same problem only on mobile. Keeps asking to upgrade. Its like the phone doesn't know I have this service. Or the tmo,servers do not know that my account has paid for this. Funny part is,the customer services people say they can see I,have this feature on my acct. Pls jeep me,posted if you get a fix for this

Lumia 920 Software Update problems

I have a Nokia Lumia 920 on Orange in UK.
I installed the software update provided by Nokia last weekend - 02/02/2013. Since then I have only experienced issues.
Since the update my signal has been intermittant. For every 10 seconds i have signal, I go 30 minutes without. A no entry sign appears over the signal. I have checked with Orange and run numerous diagnostics over the phone and in store with Orange, the coverage from the netwrok is fine.
Tried a soft and hard reset with no improvement!! The hard reset almost stopped the phone working completely, getting stuck on the gears rotating for 5 hours.
Any ideas? Seems to have been caused by the software update!? Phone also completely blacked out and required soft restart to begin yesterday.
I want a normal phone back, nothing but problems with this 920, especially since the update?
How can i get a clear signal again, and off this forum to catch some much needed daylight!

Update queries (Lumia 620 Black Update)

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone on here knew how long it should take between the update geting to the carrier and them pasiing on the update to the consumers?
I ask because mysef and others are STILL without the Update 3/Black update for the 620 ( in the UK), and are increasingly becoming annoyed (putting it lightly - don't want to get banned from the forum already) at this fact, especially since we know it is the carriers fault (I won't name and shame the carrier since it's in the link!)

The link above shows the interactions that have been made between those of us waiting for the update, and those at my carrier. In short, on the 2nd April, the foum dudes passed it on to those who deal with the updates. 8 days later (10th April, 3 weeks ago), the next reply was that they were in the latter stages of testing, and should be out "within the next few weeks". There have been NO updates since, hint the fact we are getting increasingly annoyed.
Surely, the fact they claim they were in the latter stages of testing 3 weeks ago mean we should have the update by now, especially since all other 620's in the UK had the update in March.

Rest assured, the Lumia Black release for Lumia 720 in NZ is not forgotten. It will follow the release timing for Lumia 720 Country variant in Australia. We've asked for the NZ Lumia Black availability table to be updated.
The update should be available to you, barring any unforeseen technical issues, by the end of next week.

Lumia 920 Facebook connection very slow over WiFi ...

Since the Portico update the connection to Facebook both in the People and Me hub as well as in the Facebook app is very slow over WiFi, whilst still good over 4G/LTE (with WiFi off). The connection to the Nokia account also appears to have a similar problem. All other accounts and apps have good speed over both cellular and WiFi connections.
Any ideas anybody?
PS: FYI, a bit more info about the history and context: When I noticed the problem the first time after the update, I tried to solve it by deleting and re-adding my Facebook account on the phone. Unfortunately, that made me lose my Me hub tile, so I decided to do a full reset. That again unfortunately got stuck on the togg wheels, so I restored the phone using Nokia Care Suite with the latest firmware, and restored my accounts, apps and settings from scratch. Everythings seems to work fine now, except the above mentioned Facebook and Nokia account connectivity problem.

I have the same issue here with my Lumia 920.
However I have already found out that it only applies to my home Wifi. All other Wifi networks i was connecting to did work flawlesly.
I need to note that all other devices on my home network are using facebook without a glitch. Only Lumia has some problems with it.

Lumia 920 and updating to Windows 8.1

Greetings, WIndows phone holders.
As the title implies, I have a 920 that I would like to update. I bought my phone outright and do a $25 per month plan through AT&T which does NOT include data, however I am perpetually connected to wi-fi. I am curious (though skeptical) if this might be contributing to the problem I have.
I am currently running 8.0, Lumia Black. When I check for an update, it keeps telling me there's no software update available. Is this true? Not even Cyan? With the advent of Cortana, I started searching for videos of 920s with 8.1 installed. It looks great, and I'd love to get this installed. Is there any reason I can't get this? Is there a plan for 8.1 to come out for AT&T 920s?

I´m using my Lumia 920 in Sweden on operator Halebop. I have opted in to the Windows Phone Developer program so I already have tested theese wonderful improvements.
It is rolling out right now so I searched via the update function under settings but nothing there.
Then I connected to the Nokia Recovery tool and there I have the option to update my device.
The fact that it shows up there may be that the developer version installed hav to be written over by the recovery tool.

Issue with Lumia 620 Black update

Hi everyone. Recently I've updated my L620 to Black and the ROM is EU-Spain. When I turn the " Double tap" on for unlocking the screen and put my phone into any of my pockets, the phone strongly hangs and there will be no way to unlock the screen except replacing battery. I think this is a bug and my phone can not recognize the hits in my pockets as temporary hits. I don't want to disable " double tap" but by this problem I cant work with my phone safety.help pls. thanks

Just to clarify, did the issue happen immediately after the Lumia Black update? If yes, try to verify if the update is successfully installed on your phone. Check if 'Lumia Black' shows up under Settings > Extras + Info. Try also to check if all system apps are updated by scanning the QR app codes shown at this link, especially the one for 'Touch': Nokia Windows Phone 8 App updates After that, check if the phone's 'Double tap to wake' feature and the overall performance of the touch screen will improve.

Lumia 925 Black Update

After Black update of my Lumia 925 Glance screen does not always display the Time , though it is always on. Try to fix this bug. Soft reset couldn't solve the problem.

Have you updated all your system apps following the update? If not, download and install an app called Lumia System Updater and use it to update all the system apps. See if that helps.

Lumia 920 application updates

i have Nokia Lumia 920, the store used to have notifications about updating any of the applications i installed before, after doing a hard reset, the store somehow lost this option ! and i have check each application separatly in the store for updates which is so annoying ! anybody knows how i can restore this option again??

Since I upgraded to Amber September 9th I have the same problem; I don't get any indication of available updates of my apps, except for one time (and then it was a lot of apps).
Before Amber there were updates almost every second day.
Yesterday I went through all my apps manually (searching for them in the store and updating the ones that had updates available).
So there is nothing else can do?

Lumia 620 Black Update, availability in Africa!

I have the Lumia 620. I have been waiting for the Black update since the rollout started. I have the phone that is the only one amongst all the other phones, based on the network provider I am using, that is still waiting for availability. My phone has been acting up, I am beginning to see problems arise. I mentioned this to one of Nokia's employees and I was told it could be due to I do not have the update. Therefore problem can't be within my fault per se. This is just one of many emails. Any communication would be appreciated.

Did you try the Nokia Software Recovery Tool already? There, what is your 7-letter code (product code)? That code determines your firmware variant which determines your current version. Then we can check together if you have the latest version.

Lumia 925 black-update phone stuck

I installed the black-update yesterday on my 925, in the beginnings no problems, but this morning when I tried to unlock my phone I typed my password but then the phone got stuck in the lock screen. After 3 minutes it automatically locked itself but now it is not unlocking anymore.
The strange thing is that my Glance is still working if I move my hand over the phone (peek). But I cannot unlock it via de unlock button (nothing is happening), I have double tap to wake switched off, and my cam app is ProCam so no chance of unlocking it via that as well. I also tried to call the phone but it is not receiving the call..
Also putting it on the charger or connection it to the computer doesn't help, screen stays black. My question is is this a software problem or is it just a coincidence and my unlock button broke during the night.. but this would't explain the not receiving calls part and also not that it is not 'unlocking' on charger or computer.
What you advice me to do now? And I don't wanna hard reset my phone...

I think you need to do a soft reset, many peoplr have reported issues with Glance screen pre and post Black update. Press and hold the Vol.down and power/screen lock keys together for few seconds till you see the 'Nokia' on the screen. You won't lose any data by doing this. I revived my L925 when I experienced same issue months back. Good luck.

Hi , i updated to windows 8.1 official version on my lumia 925 and the problem im facing is the battery. It wont get me through a day of normal usage. Pls dont tell me to close wifi, glance etc. becouse i followed every single battery saving trick.

have you tried performing a soft reset, and checking you are up to date with the latest Nokia system app updates from the Store? else a hard reset may be in orde.r

I have conected my lumia 620 with wifi and black update is also released for my phone but it can not be downloaded there is written downloading 0% and not going up why ???
i am trying from one week but i could not download the update...

Lumia 625 black update

I got update for my Lumia 625 ,I installed it and after been finished I can't find any difference and I opened the extras&info sill showing amber software how can I know that the black update is on my device know although its fully installed and the phone restarted and told me update is full

It's not obvious that your phone has been upgraded.
Go to settings > Extras + Info.
It'll tell you the software release version

Another BUT..... The Nokia Glance screen is not availble for the Nokia Lumia 625.
One wonders why Nokia doesn't tell you this, you have to search for stuff on their website and only at the bottom does it tell you that the Glance software isn't available - VERY Unimpressed.
