Lumia 920 completely frozen after Cyan WP 8.1 upda...

Phone was working fine until I updated to cyan firmware wp 8.1. The upgrade went well, then when the phone rebooted it just froze on the AT&T flash screen (white circle with blue rings on white background). Did numerous soft and hard resets on my Lumia 920 but again it only goes as far as the AT&T logo screen and then freezes. Phone is un-responsive, won't turn off until the battery completely drains. Essentially my phone is dead.
I installed Nokia Software Recovery Tool hoping to revert my Lumia 920 back to "Black" firmware. But my only option is to install the Cyan firmware again which makes my phone lock up. I have done this repeatedly with no success.
Is there anyway to get Black firmware back on my Lumia 920? I think this is the only solution. Thanks.

Your phone was connected to the outlet?
If during installation consumes a certain percentage of battery and not connected to a power outlet installation stops until you connect the plug.

Lumia 920 Locks up after Black update

I'm using an AT&T Nokia Lumia 920. My phone had been working fine with the Amber update but as soon as I updated to Black it started hanging and acting weird. These are the symptoms:
1. If I have a device pin setup it hangs as soon as I type in the pin or if I hit the emergency call button.
2. If I don't have a pin, most apps don't start. They say they are loading but after 30 seconds or so they drop back to the start menu.
3. It never successfully reboots, I have to use the soft reset key sequence (power + volume down) to get it to restart.
4. I see missed incoming calls but the phone gives no indication when you're actually calling it.
Things I've tried:
1. Soft reset.
2. Hard reset.
3. Flash to pre Black using Nokia Software Recovery Tool. (no longer possible since it downloaded the black update this morning)
4. Restoring backup after hard reset.
5. Picking all the defaults after a hard reset.
6. Changing the region on startup after a hard reset.
7. Changing the keyboard layouts (remove some, add a bunch). This the one setting I seem to be able to get to.
8. Uninstalled all apps I could (I can't see what games are installed).
9. Flashed back to Original ROM and updated through Phone Updates, after Black is installed, device locks up again.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this problem? I'm in the US.

that's really a bummer.
I went through the same thing/similar when I updated my 920 to black.
I had to hard format and use the NSRT to reinstall the firmware completely 10-12 times until it finaly took the firmware correctly.
other than that, seems you have done everything you could to troubleshoot it.

Hi there, Arbaerinn.
Did something happen to your phone prior to doing an update? What fixes have you tried so far? Try to restart your phone by pressing and holding the Power and Volume down keys simultaneously for 10-15 seconds. Release the keys and then the phone will restart.
You can also try resetting your camera. To do that, go to Settings > swipe to left to see application > phone+camera > reset camera. No photo or personal data will be deleted in doing this.
If the said fixes didn't make any difference, we suggest you take the phone to the Nokia Care Point for evaluation. Check for Nokia Care Points in your location by visiting your Local Support page: http://www.nokia.com/global/wayfinder/ .

Lumia 620 not woking after cyan update

I did cyan update on lumia 620 , while updating it shows a sad smile and rebooted to running wheels. after 20-30 seconds its keep rebooting and the loop continues.

Hi, vaissocial. Sorry to learn about your experience in updating your phone. Let's try to recover your phone through the following troubleshooting steps:
1. Hardware Reset
Note: All information on your phone will be deleted and anything that has not been backed up will be lost during this process. If you cannot access your phone's menu, unfortunately you will not be able to backup any data.
a. Make sure your phone is powered off.
b. Press and hold the volume down button.
c. Press the power button until the phone vibrates, then release the power button.
d. Keep the volume down button held until you see an '!' on the screen, then release the volume down button.
When the ! appears, press the following buttons in order:
volume up
volume down
power
volume down
You should see rotating gears on your screen for around 5 minute and its display will then turn blank for 30 seconds while your phone restarts. It will take several minutes for it to restart. Once it has restarted, you will need to follow the on-screen instructions and complete the initial set-up process on your phone.
2. If the issue remains, we suggest recovering your phone's software using the Nokia Software Recovery Tool. For more information, please check this link: http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/mobile/support/faq/?action=singleTopic&topic=FA142987.

My computer is completely frozen, after two days of installing yosemite

Two days ago I did the Yosemite update. I did the vault security encryption because it was suggested. After it, the login was taking longer than before, but the laptop was working fine. Then I shut down the computer from the initial page after it was asleep, and then I took it with me. When I turned it back on, all normal, the pages I was reading were there, and after a couple of hours of using it, it began to freeze, doing nothing but the horrible rainbow circle. I had to force quite. It restarted normally, but once I opened an application it just stayed loading there. Again forced shut. The same thing. The following time it just didn't even go into the desktop, just a blury background and the horrible rainbow. Nothing else happened. Sounds like Yosemite just screwed my computer, and now I have to wait until Monday for a technician. Does someone have a clue of what could've happened?

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Completely FROZEN after restoring ??

My ipod froze and i tried to reset it several times using the menu & select buttons as instructed.
I also have let the battery die & recharged it fully - it was still frozen.
I have now RESTORED my ipod which seemed to work fine using the latest updater but the ipod screen is now frozen on the language choice setting. Itunes has let me put all my tunes back onto the ipod but obviously cant check this as its frozen on the language setting stage. It wont allow me to do anything... Please help - DESPERATE NOW !!

ME too! In order to get rid of the !folder I restored using the Jan10 2006 updater. All seemed to be going well but it sticks on the language screen and no button will work. It is like it is stuck on hold or something. When I reconnect the ipod after doing the flash charge with the AC adapter my PC recognizes the ipod and appears to be downloading songs but again it is stuck on language acreen and all buttons are stuck. Of course it was 2 weeks out of warranty when the thing started malfunctioning. Tried resetting of course-no luck.
I was using FOXFIRE browser but then used Explorer with the same results it that matters. PLease Help!!

Lumia 920 not working after wireless charge

This is not my phone specifically, it is a family memers phone on my plan.
So she has had the phone for a month and from what i know, it worked fine no issues. ATT forgot to order her a wireless charger so they finally did and used it for the first time last night. Not sure how long she charged, but after chargine, the phone did not work and she could not boot the phone.
I asked her to ry to do a soft reset by holding the volume and middle button, the phone vibrates after 10 seconds, but it shoes a blue screen. I asked her to do a hard reset wiping everything and starting frrom factory, same thing happens with a blue screen coming on and nothing else.
Im not certain if she had the update either, i doubt she has the update. Is there a way to get this phone up and running or will i have to do a warranty exchange?

Sounds like you have tried everything, so apart from installing the Portico update that was pushed for AT&T and Rogers devices in the last few days, and checking that she is up-to-date with all the Nokia system app updates in the Store, there is nothing much else that can be done. You most likely will need to take the phone back to the point of purchase and request a replacement, as it sounds it is hardware defective.

Nokia Lumia 920 overheating frozen

Have tried soft reset but this is not working. My phone has been overheating and freezing for ages, very frustrating as i dont do anything very much on it. The odd game - talking tom or facebook is about it. Have tried doing soft resets each time and has worked up to now. Have also uninstalled whatsapp as people have said that might be an issue. Have uninstalled fb app and only access it online. Seriously dont do anything else on my phone. If I do hard reset how can i back my stuff up beforehand if i cant even use the phone!!!!

It is normal for the phone to get warm when in intensive use. However, if you think that it's already too hot, you'll need to check it with the Nokia Repair Facility for further tests.
With regard to the 4G concern, Is your phone unlocked or unbranded? 4G will be supported if the operator or SIM that you are using supports 4G connection as well. It is best to contact your operator for more information about their network coverage.

Help...LUMIA 521 completely dead after latest Wind...

Tried to install the latest update earlier today, saw that the wheels icon was turning and phone went dead. Figured it was a reboot of the phone, but here Iam 2 hours later, unable to power up the phone or charge it or anything.
Any ideas? Can't even get it to master reset. Unbelieveable an update would break the whole phone like this

On the contrary, the firmware update process is one of the riskiest operations you can ever carry out on your phone. Any blip, however small can potentially result in corruption, potentially bricking the phone. If the reset did not help then, you should have your phone checked out at your local Nokia Care Point. They will probably reflash the update.

It sounds like you cannot get your iPhone to respond to anything you are doing after installing iOS 8. I recommend you reset your phone with this process, which should get your phone back on track:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

Lumia 920 soft buttons not working after wireless ...

I am having this new problem after I did amber update. Since then, whenever I place the phone on charge plate and take it from it, the soft buttons wont work unless I restart the phone. Its working fine before the update. Its an US AT&T phone.
Does anyone have the same issue with their's after the update? or is there any resolution for this?

I have the same problem. I am not sure if an app update is what caused this, but my camera on my new Cyan Nokia Lumia 920 has stopped working. I took two photos yesterday, but when I tried to take some today my camera was a completely black screen with the bottom buttons grayed out and the top bottom to view recent pictures highlighted and still working. I don't know what to do because I purchased this phone off of Ebay and everything worked fine after I purchased it. I'm hoping I didn't get a faulty phone.
I have tried everything.... soft reset, deleting all the camera apps, and tried to reset the camera. I want to avoid doing a hard reset because it bricked my last Nokia and I don't want that to happen.
The only way I can use my camera is through an app, Nokia Glam Me. But it only uses FFC (front facing camera)
I don't know what else I should do.
Help. Please...

Lumia 920 camera suddenly not working after app up...

I have had yellow Lumia 920 now for about 3 weeks and everything worked just fine. Yesterday evening (european time) I saw update reminders on the "shop" tile and there were 3 or 4 of them (Nokia drive+ and some others that I don't remember). I was doing something and didn't give a thought but just let the updates to be downloaded and installed and they went fine as far as I know. Today when I tried to take photos the camera suddenly dosen't work anymore. No matter if I click the hardware button or the camera app tile, it just flip back to live tiles. Camera doesn't work on Bing search either and not on any apps that utilized the camera.
I wonder if anyone else have this problem or what I should do next... I have restart the phone a few times but it didn't help... I haven't hard reset it because I have so many stuff in the phone, if there is a easy way to do it I rather not hard reset it...
Any suggestions are greatly welcome!

Lumia 920: Internet Sharing no longer works after...

I have a Lumia 920 that's a developer build that was provided at Microsoft Build. After the latest OS update, I am no longer able to start Internet Sharing. I receive a notification that I need to upgrade to a plan that supports mobile hotspot. I am already on a plan with T-Mobile that supports mobile hotspots. I confirmed this with a T-Mobile rep and they suggested I contact Nokia.

Lumia 920 Developer Edition & Cyan update

Hello, I have the Lumia 920 Developer Edition and recently got the 8.1/Cyan update. Previously, it was running the latest 8.0 ROM version for the device:

059R4H6
My carrier is T-Mobile USA and I was getting their HSPA+/LTE signals just fine with peak download speeds upwards of 11MB/s. After the 8.1/Cyan update I received last night I now only get regular HSPA signals and my download speeds peak at 1.5MB/s.
What changed? Will this be fixed?

I spoke with T-Mobile USA support yesterday and they are looking into it. Your idea that 4G might be disabled in the Cyan/8.1 version of this Nokia Product code might be true, but if so why would they do that other than by mistake? If that is the case I hope Microsoft/Nokia fixes it soon and sends the update OTA.
Another problem I am experiencing with this update is that the Internet Sharing feature cannot detect that my cellphone contract has tethering enabled (I've always had it because I need it for work) and it is sending me to the T-Mobile web page for upgrading my cellphone plan. The T-Mobile representative said that this shouldn't be happening and they will have it fixed soon.
This behavior makes me think that this ROM update is not "negotiating" with the T-Mobile USA network correctly. Whether it should be fixed on the carrier side or the Nokia side I don't know. However, if T-Mobile can fix the Internet Sharing feature without anything being done on the Nokia side I think they will also be able to allow this updated ROM to get 4G connections by making some small configuration changes on their side.
If they are able to do it I will definitely say that T-Mobile USA is the BEST carrier in this country. I already recommend it to everyone I know (unless coverage is an issue). I would recommend them even more strongly. I hope T-Mobile USA is reading this!!!

Obviously this seems to be a common problem with the phone of which I was unaware of before purchase.
The situation I am in...
Phone has frozen mid text message and screen is still on but unresponsive but the back, windows and search buttons still vibrate when touched.
I would simply turn it on and off again but the side buttons are also unresponsive... Well if they are I can't tell due to the screen not responding.
The phone is on Orange/EE and new 2 weeks ago

Hey, i have got the same problem for a long time...
First off all i bought the phone from EE orange, with no contract only the headset... Unfortunately they promised me for unlocked phone after 3 months when i bought it, but they didn't and i have to wait 6 months..
In addition i discover the same problems as you.
I tried a couple of times (holding the down volume key and power button) but the problem is fixing temporarily... I can't use the phone at all. If a try to open the settings it says Loading... and logged me out to the main menu.. If i try open the camera fb, twitter, try to send msg, whatever the phone is freezing and then a message appear say Loading and it log me out to the main...
I have the latest version of WP8. Lumia 920 is so nice phone but unfortunately i can't use it at all.
I already change it once on January for battery issues and now i descoverd new problems..
