Lumia 920 Disturbed after Black update

Once Lumia black came, i update my mobile. After that i am facing these issues
proximity sensor stop working.
Screen Rotation has stopped.
Camera app become crash whenever i try to use camera.
i tried to hardReset. And then download nokia suit from nokia site and try to install all software from scratch. First. 5mon it work fine after that again same problem.
i purchased my mobile from singapore. Currently i am in london. Can't go back. Even can check my mobile at UK nokia care because they refused because of international warranty . Surprise Nokia UK don't cover Nokia singapore product. If it will happen with nokia users then what gonna happen.
this is my business mobile. I started Lumia series when Lumia 800 comes...then Lumia 900 then 520, 720 and now 920. But i am really disappointed.
now may i know my handset future beside curtsy.

We understand your situation, terchoo. Since the issue started after installing Lumia Black, try to verify it the phone is successfully updated. Check if 'Lumia Black' shows up under Settings > Extras + Info. Try also to verify if all system applications are up-to-date. Since the camera won't work, just manually search the system apps in the Store or via Bing search. Check this link for the list of apps that needs to be updated: Nokia Windows Phone 8 App Updates
By the way, Nokia Suite isn't compatible with Lumia devices. Just to clarify, are you referring to Nokia Software Recovery tool instead of Nokia Suite?? Please check this link: Nokia Software Recovery tool

I also have a lumia 920 which I also cannot seem to update to Black.
I am able to download the update but when it is preparing to install the update, it always freezes at 77% after more than an hour is says that the update was downloaded but could not be opened. Error code: 80070079
I have tried this more than 10 times already even reseting my phone to no avail.
Please can anybody help out.

Nokia Lumia 920 issues after latest update. Fix in...

Since the last update we are having massive problems on our Lumia 920 from ATT. Bad reception, losing Internet connection, etc.
We have over 30 920 deployed in our company. We did tests with and without the new patch and its like day and night.
Sitting in my office, i have 1-2 bars on the phone with updates, showing 4g, but cannot access any website.Plus constantly losing connection.
On the phone without update I have 2-3 bars, showing LTE and constant internet access.
It is horrible. We first thought it was related to the Access Point Software, but it is definitively the firmware.
Please fix asap. Not good advertising for those awesome phones.

This issue has already been covered on several threads on this forum. The update was found to cause issues on AT&T and was pulled part way through it's roll out. A fresh update is being prepared that fixes the issues. For more information contact AT&T or Nokia US.

After black update I can't open here map on Lumia ...

Please help me solve this problem I travel a lot in middle east and here maps and here drive was best solution for traveling there. Now after black update on my Lumia 820 I can't even open them I don't want to reset my phone because I have a lot of locations saved in maps. I don't know if Nokia is looking into it or not.

Random restarts after Black update Lumia 820

Hi, I have a problem. I had GDR3 developer version without Black, everything was ok, but after Black update, my phone is randomly restarting. I still have the same apps asi without Black. I made hard reset, but nothing, I made hard reset without restoration of my previous data, and it is still restarting. I made software flash over nokia software updater for retail but it is still randomly restarting.
Tell me what to do, because it makes me angry and I'm planning to sell and never buy Nokia Lumia phone again!

I have sam issue on Lumia 720, i never had random restart before gdr3+Black, i did not dev unlocked my phone i did officiall ota. Also i get 8bit color, stuck screen more often now. Soft and hard reset don't help. And i hate to see Nokia don't answer ur question yet.

Lumia 1020 call cut outs after Black update

My calls have problems after Black update. Either reciever can not hear me or I can not hear him for long periods. Tested SIM in other phone on same net on same location and seems to be Nokia problem.

It seems Lumia 620 doesn't benefit the "double tap to wake", other than that all announced apps and features will be available. I advise to check also some great beta apps from Nokia Beta Labs, kudos to the guys developing these.

Lumia 920 Locks up after Black update

I'm using an AT&T Nokia Lumia 920. My phone had been working fine with the Amber update but as soon as I updated to Black it started hanging and acting weird. These are the symptoms:
1. If I have a device pin setup it hangs as soon as I type in the pin or if I hit the emergency call button.
2. If I don't have a pin, most apps don't start. They say they are loading but after 30 seconds or so they drop back to the start menu.
3. It never successfully reboots, I have to use the soft reset key sequence (power + volume down) to get it to restart.
4. I see missed incoming calls but the phone gives no indication when you're actually calling it.
Things I've tried:
1. Soft reset.
2. Hard reset.
3. Flash to pre Black using Nokia Software Recovery Tool. (no longer possible since it downloaded the black update this morning)
4. Restoring backup after hard reset.
5. Picking all the defaults after a hard reset.
6. Changing the region on startup after a hard reset.
7. Changing the keyboard layouts (remove some, add a bunch). This the one setting I seem to be able to get to.
8. Uninstalled all apps I could (I can't see what games are installed).
9. Flashed back to Original ROM and updated through Phone Updates, after Black is installed, device locks up again.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this problem? I'm in the US.

that's really a bummer.
I went through the same thing/similar when I updated my 920 to black.
I had to hard format and use the NSRT to reinstall the firmware completely 10-12 times until it finaly took the firmware correctly.
other than that, seems you have done everything you could to troubleshoot it.

I update my 920 to lumia black after update 920 freezes so i soft reset it but after reset no app works not even setting so i hard reset it threw vol. Up vol.down power and vol.down buttons but its remains as it is intead i lost my data plzzz... Help what should i do to fix it because my lumia 920 is useless now i can only use it as a paper weight

Even though the update process is fairly straightforward and safe sometimes it can go wrong which is never fun when it happens to you. Rule #1 when doing a backup in any case and on any device is to have a backup.
If the phone will not properly restart or reboot you need to get it to a Nokia Care Pointof Repair Facility wher ethey shoudl be able to fix this for you. See HERE for your options which may vary from region to region.

Lumia 820 battery drain after "Black" update

Hi all,
Yesterday I finally received the black update on my NL820. After applying the update successfully I charged the phone to %100. Before I went to bed I had:
Battery at %94
Wifi - Off
Data services - Off
Location services - Off
Bluetooth - Off
Battery Saver - On
This morning I wake up and it is unusually bright outside - the phone powered off, the alarm didn't go off and I overslept for work. I haven't touched any other settings after the update. Everything is the way I used it before. What is it that could drain a battery in the space of 8 hours from almost full to power off? I've had this happen on the same phone twice prior to the upgrade as well but then I thought I've forgot data services on or something. This time I'm sure everything was off.

I have been using Lumia 820 since 1 year and have never faced any issues. But after the recent "black" update... my mobile battery drains out within few hours after i charge it 100%. I have to charge it 3-4 times in a day ..
1. I dont have any GPRS connection.
2. I use wifi at home (only evenings). The rest of the day.. I use it only for calls and texts.
3. I have tried hard reset, but that dint help.
4. After hard reset, I dint update my mobile software.
I charge it till 11pm and when I wake up at 5 am .. I see the mobile is switched off and I cant depend on the alarm to wake me up . That makes me so nervous.
Please bring out some solution to this problem. It is so irritating to charge the mobile for so many times in day.

Lumia 620 , Flash Not Working after Black update from "Preview For Developer"

Downloaded the app " Preview for Developers" and checked the phone updates, It showed that one update is ready to install. Now when i update the mobile (Lumia Black Update) the flashlight of camera is not working anymore. Plz suggest

Lumia 810 not receiving Black update?

I find it rather odd that the Lumia 810 will not be getting the Black update and have also heard that Nokia is no longer supporting additional updates to this phone.. If this info is incorrect please let me know.. I am stuck with this Pile of **bleep** and my carrier will not replace it with the 925 even though I am on phone number 6 and all have had the same issues such as calls dropping, the Wifi not working, bluetooth being crackly, not getting service in areas where I should have full bars. Now I am finding out I will not be getting updates.. Please help me out here nokia!

Until couple days ago I was an owner of an 810 (loved it) and was abandoned by T-Mobile. If dropping support for a phone less than a year after selling it is "uncarrier", then give me a real carrier any day.
So, in protest, I did some research and decided to switch to AT&T. Your options for Win phone on T-Mo are the 521 and 925. AT&T also has the 925, so I compared the two carriers.
A 925 on T-Mo will cost you $480. Then the plan is $50 + $10/mo for 2.5GB data. JUMP adds another $10 for a total of $70/mo with the option for a new phone in 6 months.
A Nokia Lumia 925 on AT&T cost me $330 at my local AT&T corporate store. I got a $200 switchers credit, plus they gave me $100 to trade in my beloved 810. So the 925 cost me $30 in the end. AT&Ts Next12 plan is $45/mo -$15 credit = $30, plus $40/mo for 1GB data (enough for me). Again, that's $30 for a brand new 925, then $70/mo with the option for a new phone in 12 Months. Not exactly apples to apples, but close enough. And AT&T has better network coverage.

Lumia 920 Developer Edition & Cyan update

Hello, I have the Lumia 920 Developer Edition and recently got the 8.1/Cyan update. Previously, it was running the latest 8.0 ROM version for the device:

059R4H6
My carrier is T-Mobile USA and I was getting their HSPA+/LTE signals just fine with peak download speeds upwards of 11MB/s. After the 8.1/Cyan update I received last night I now only get regular HSPA signals and my download speeds peak at 1.5MB/s.
What changed? Will this be fixed?

I spoke with T-Mobile USA support yesterday and they are looking into it. Your idea that 4G might be disabled in the Cyan/8.1 version of this Nokia Product code might be true, but if so why would they do that other than by mistake? If that is the case I hope Microsoft/Nokia fixes it soon and sends the update OTA.
Another problem I am experiencing with this update is that the Internet Sharing feature cannot detect that my cellphone contract has tethering enabled (I've always had it because I need it for work) and it is sending me to the T-Mobile web page for upgrading my cellphone plan. The T-Mobile representative said that this shouldn't be happening and they will have it fixed soon.
This behavior makes me think that this ROM update is not "negotiating" with the T-Mobile USA network correctly. Whether it should be fixed on the carrier side or the Nokia side I don't know. However, if T-Mobile can fix the Internet Sharing feature without anything being done on the Nokia side I think they will also be able to allow this updated ROM to get 4G connections by making some small configuration changes on their side.
If they are able to do it I will definitely say that T-Mobile USA is the BEST carrier in this country. I already recommend it to everyone I know (unless coverage is an issue). I would recommend them even more strongly. I hope T-Mobile USA is reading this!!!

WiFi issues and crashing after black update

I have a uk lumia 820 which was updated to the latest os release including the nokia black update. The problem is since updating, my wifi does connect but soon after internet connnectivity is lost even when mobile data is also enabled, wifi remains connected but needs to be cycled off/on before internet access is restored. One thing i have noticed is that after restarting the phone the access point setting always shows and asks to pick my network operator. Also i have seen a few system/app crashes that did not happen before the black update was installed. I have done numerous soft resets but the problem remains.

Hi there, I have the same problem but this has been happening since the Amber update, so its not related to the Black update.
The problem is that when you are connected to your WiFi and then leave coverage for any period of time, the WiFi does not reconnect. It can see the access point, and shows you are connected in settings, but if you try to use WiFi then it does not fully connect.
Turning off and on is the only way around this which is not a suitable option. It would be preferable that the WiFi did manage to reconnect completely. Is this an OS problem, or a problem with the firmware on the WiFi chip?
There are a lot of users with this issue so can we get Nokia to look into this as a bug?

Store notifications after Black update

Hi There,
I no longer seem to get notifications of app updates in the store after the Black update on my 925, only by selecting an app in the store which I have already installed do I see if there's an update. I've looked around the phone settings to see if there's a way to turn these notifications on/off but can't find anything.

The phone checks for app updates at a specific time at specific intervals. I haven't quite got round to confirming what the interval is yet. If your phone has no internet connection at that specific time then the check is not done. Phones with data connections are fine because the data connection is always available. I started noticing this on a few of my phones without data connections and use wifi only. They would occassionally get update notifications when the phone happens to be charging, which in turn keeps the wifi on. Resets and updates change yet the update time. So, to have your phone check for updates, you need to either leave the data connection on or set wifi to keep wifi on when screen times out, at least until you find out what time of day your phone checks for updates at. Thereafter you will know what time of day to leave your connection on.
