Lumia 920 stuck in reboot cycle.

Hi, got my lumia 920 a week ago at the most. First day, wouldnt turn on after initial setup. Hard reset, this went on for a couple of days, thought an update might fix it, got around to it and now the phone is stuck in a reboot cycle, goes from Nokia to black screen back to Nokia and so forth. I tried the power/volume down key, no luck, before that, the phone wouldnt even open up settings, brought up a "loading..." message and back to homescreen. Help

  • Lumia 625 Constantly enters reboot cycle

    Hi
I have had my Nokia Lumia 625 for just a few months, but over the last few weeks it has constantly been entering reboot cycles. I am always able to resolve it by doing a factory reset on my phone, but this is time consuming, especially when i've had to reset it three times this week. I have included some information below.
    Brand: Nokia
    Model: Lumia 625
    Carrier: EE (UK)
I will add software version etc... in a bit, as my phone is currently doing a restore.
    Thanks, Harry

  • Stuck in reboot cycle

I have installed the Tech Preview Enterprise version and all went well, till the system got stuck in an endless reboot cycle, it reboots; gets to the windows logo, shows the progress wheel for about 30 seconds; then a black screen with the evaluation number
in the bottom right corner and then just stops and reboots. It has been doing this for several hours now, any ideas of how to break this cycle or do I need to wipe it and go back to the old OS

    Hi
Can you boot into safe mode and then check the logs for errors why its not booting?

  • Blackberry stuck in reboot cycle

My BB has crashed for no apparent reason, corrupting some critical files. It's now stuck in a permenant reboot cycle, where it tries to start, encounters an error, crashes and then tries to restart again. The symptoms all fit with that described on crackberry (http://crackberry.com/blackberry-101-lecture-12-how-reload-operating-system-nuked-blackberry) . Specifically the red light comes on, the screen goes white, the hour glass appears, there's a small delay and then the screen goes black and the cycle starts over again.
Following the advice on Crackberry, I want to re-install the operating system. Unfortunately I can't stop the BB constantly rebooting. I've tried connecting the device to the USB, starting AppLoader and attempting to start reinstallation as soon as the 'USB:Unknown' device first appears. Crackberry suggests this should work, but what I actually encounter is the message 'connecting to device (ARM)' being displayed, followed by the port disappearing a few seconds later as the BB reboots again. At this point AppLoader fails.
Is there anything I can do to force the system to stop rebooting? I haven't installed any new software on my BB and I'm none to happy at the prospect of having to buy a new device because of bugs in the supplied software.
    Thanks for any suggestions.
    Luke

follow the crackberry thread but try connecting the berry with your battery out .don't  go thru the desktop manager.go to the apploader .and start the process from there.once the process starts then put the battery in .

  • 9360 stuck in rebooting cycle

Can anyone help on this? My wife's phone has just got stuck in a rebooting loop after an appworld upgrade.

I do not know exactly what you must do. I do know that, on some models, I have had to vary what I do from the exact instructions in the KB. But, I've never attempted to start your specific model in Safe Mode, because I don't have one. So, all I can tell you is to try different things, varying from what the KB specifically instructs, to see IF you can find the proper sequence for your BB.
All the time, though, keeping in mind this -- if the problem is at some hardware level, it is possible that your BB cannot boot up under any conditions, Safe or not. But, at an internet distance, it's impossible to truly diagnose such things.
    Good luck!

  • SunOS 5.8 UltraSparc II stuck in reboot cycle

We configured our SunOS 5.8 UltraSparc II machine to use a different gateway. We're using the Sun Gigabit Ethernet adapter and after rebooting we get flooded with the messages...
SUNW, pci-gem1: Using Gigabit SERDES Interface
SUNW, pci-gem1: Auto Negotiating 1000 Mbps Full-Duplex Link Up
...during and after the boot process. Eventually a panic occurs and the

bring the machine up which suggests that the flood of messages may be a clue to solving our problem.

Well somehow, I was miraculously able to get my phone into DFU mode by connecting the phone to the computer and holding down the home button. I kept holding down the home button for about 5 minutes, hoping and praying, and bing! iTunes on the computer detected the iPhone 4S in recovery mode! I swiftly downloaded iOS 8 to take advantage of this miracle, already accepting that I had lost all my data from the past three months, but it was to no avail. The phone began to install the update after extraction, but the phone froze with a thin blue line across the screen and reset itself back to DFU mode. iTunes said that there was an error (9) and that the update had failed. I tried again, failed. And again, failed. Rang Apple support and went through the tedious process of uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, creating a new administrator account on my PC, disabling system services and only allowing Apple to boot on start up, even to the extreme of sharing my screen to the apple support tech guy. Last resort was trying a different PC, but that failed too and they confirmed that it was most likely a hardware issue (this was after 4 hours of testing and waiting on hold on the phone, mind you) I was put through to a head officer at the support centre and I've now been booked into my closest Apple retail store so that my phone can get a check over for physical damage or unauthorised modification (of which there is none because my phone is in absolute pristine condition). I'm hoping that they can give me a replacement without cost, but that is unlikely...

  • B75A-G41 stuck in reboot cycle after bios update

    Hi.
Updated to bios version 17.3 to hopefully utilize my 22nm i5 with 2400mhz RAM. Everything worked ok using version 17.1, but with max 1600Mhz Ram speed.
The update was done using Live update, because the updater available on the MSI site does not run on my system (!). (Win-7 64bit).
After flashing and reboot and clearing the CMOS this is what happens:
I get notified that the bios settings were reset. On the top there is a list of system resources. Everythign looks ok, the cpu, ram, and SATA devices are all there.
The MSI graphic is displayed shortly (maybe this happens first, not sure atm).
After I  press F1  to enter setup with default values, it says Setup is loading in the lower left, but nothing happens for a few seconds.
Trying F2 to continue to boot also results in the same.
A few codes are posted in the lower right, these are C9, B4 and sometimes A2
The machine reboots and starts again with displaying codes, reboots etc.
Repeating the CMOS clearing has no effect, other than displaying the initial page with bios reset options.
I can not get into the bios at all.
    I would appreciate any assistance.
    Cheers,
    Andreas

Try a full cmos clear. >>Clear CMOS Guide<<
In the future, don't flash the bios via any windows program or live update.
Download the version you wish to use, then use the forum flash tool.

  • Iphone 5 IOS 6.1.2 Stuck in reboot cycle

    Hey all,
I tried to do a restore for my iphone, got the phone into recovery mode and was doing a normal hard restore in itunes. While itunes was installing the IOS to my phone I hit the cable and the phone came disconnected. Now it Will only boot into the apple logo for .5 sec then restart. Only thing it responds to is a DFU mode, itunes reads the phone as in recovery mode, but when i try to do a restore the phone resets and then starts the power cycle all over again and won't allow the restore...

Since upgrading to iOS 6.1.2, I, too, have been having sound problems, but with my earbuds, with one side or the other being either full of static, or only faint sound.  It is inconsistent, and does not always happen.  Also, some songs in various playlists skip randomly, and others cannot be played when selected.  This never happened before this release, and I use the iPod function of my iPhone 4s every day.
Also, the first time I downloaded an app, the iTunes store recognized my iPhone as a NEW DEVICE downloading an app for the first time, though I have had it since October, synced it many times, and have downloaded many apps.  When I looked at my iTunes Store profile, my purchasing history was empty, even though I have purchased several apps this month.
iTunes Support says this (the download part) SOMETIMES happens after an update.  I asked them if it happens sometimes or every time, since it has never happened to me before.  No reply.  They did not address the skipping issue, either.
    Anyone else with similar issues?

  • Lumia 920 stuck on Nokia Screen

    Hi,
When trying to reset to factory settings, the gears were turning for ages. I left it there doing its stuff overnight and the battery eventually ran out. Now I am stuck on the Nokia screen.
I looked online and tried different suggestions but nothing has worked so far. I did try both soft and hard reset but it keeps getting stuck on the Nokia screen.
I checked for a Nokia Care centre but it seems there is nothing around the Bournemouth area.
Does Nokia has a Customer Support centre I could send the phone too? How do I get my phone (still under warranty) fixed?
(Contacted the twitter with this question yesterday morning but did not get a reply so far.)
    Thanks,

if spinning gears take more than 30 mins, thats no longer normal :/
if you haven't yet, try this....
    - make sure charger is not connected
    - when fone is off, press volume down & connect the charger
    - after exclamation point appears, press vol up, then vol down, then power, then vol down
    - the fone should reset itself

  • Lumia 920 stuck with spinning gears (bricked) afte...

My phone has been in the spinning gears mode for almost 48 hours.
Tried all the steps to reset the phone but to no avail.
    Anyone has solution to this?

you did try the complete format instructions on that page right?
if not, be sure you try that FIRST:
Step 1Make sure the charger is disconnected.1. Switch the power Off.2. Press and hold the Volume down and connect the charger, if succeed an exclamation mark (!) is shown on the screen.
Step 2Then input the keys in the following order:1. Volume up2. Volume down3. Power4. Volume down
Step 3The phone will reset and boot up automatically. Please note that this may take several minutes.
there is one other way to fix it, but not allowed here. you can google it, but, since the device is new, you may as well have the nokia location do it. it is just going to cost you some time.

  • Intel Mac Mini stuck in reboot loop

I just upgraded the hard drive in my 2007 intel mac mini core duo. Drive formatted successfully, contains GUID Partition Table.
    OSX 10.5 installed successfully.
Machine rebooted, I ran software update to 10.5.7 successfully.
Upon installing Adobe Flash Player, Adobe Acrobat Reader, machine began to react slowly to commands.
Rebooted machine, went to Grey Apple Screen with spinning dash wheen icon.
Machine rebooted itself, once again going to the grey apply screen with the spinning wheel.
After about 15 minutes of letting the continual reboot cycle happen, I inserted the installation DVD for 10.5, held the power button in to power off the machine, and booted from the disk.
I ran disk utility. Disk Utility shows the hard drive, shows the partition (GUID Partition) correctly.
I Verified Disk, which verified as "OK"
    Repaired permissions.
    Restarted machine.
Once again, it loaded to the grey apple screen, stayed there with the spinning dash wheel for about 3 minutes then continued to reboot over and over (everytime it reboots it sticks on the grey apple screen for 3 minutes before rebooting.
I once again powered off the machine and reset the PRAM.
Machine stuck again on reboot cycle.
I powered off the machine and reset the mini's SMC.
Machine is still stuck in reboot cycle.
I have also taken the mini back apart and verified that all RAM and connections are seated properly.
Any advice on what to do at this point will be very helpful.

+And I promise I will not download and install a hundred different programs this time.+
    Good idea.
Any time you install software in OSX, there is a small, but finite, chance that the installation process won't be able to access a needed file because it is in use. This can mess up pre-binding, or even prevent files from being updated.
So the best advice is not to run any other programs while doing software installs or updates. And when in doubt, run DiskUtility afterwards and fix permissions one more time.
I cringe whenever I think of a post I read a while back about a Mac user who boasted about what music he likes to run in iTunes while doing system software updates. Not a good idea. It's "Russian roulette" with maybe 99 blanks in the "gun", but one real bullet that can kill your Mac's installation.

  • Lumia 920 Randomly Reboots / Cannot Be Turned Off

    Hello,
I have just bought a Lumia 920 today, and now have the problems described in the thread subject... Every few minutes while idle, the phone will power down and immediately power up again. This does render the phone useless to me...
When trying to shut it down to remove the SIM card I noticed I cannot even shut it off. It would instantly turn itself back on again.
Did anyone else notice this kind of behaviour from their Lumia 920 (or maybe other phones as well)? I was really looking forward to this device and this really ruins it for me
    Thanks in advance!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Same thing on my Lumia 920 unit from ATT, received just today via online purchase. Began resetting within 30 minutes, and continues to do so, especially in places like voicemail and phone functions. Also fails to register initial settings like search engine (on every reset, goes back to Bing instead of Google) and other things I've had to re-configure 3 or 4 times. It took about four tries to get a Texas map database to download, despite using a home wi-fi right next to the wireless router.
I don't think this is a SIM problem at all, because the rests don't always take place in the phone section. And I've even turned the cell phone data feature off, and still the reboots. It MAY be the micro-USB connector, because since I've been charging the phone while initializing it, the resets happen with it inserted. But this is also the data cable, so if the unit resets all the time while moving huge chunks of desktop data, then it is useless. If the micro-USB connector is that rickety, more trouble is down the road.
This is a real shame, becuase I like the phone and was ready to switch from iPhone. Now I'm stuck with something I have to send back and try to get my old iPhone to work again, so at least I'll have some cell phone calls.
About eight hours of my time loading music, getting familiar, and configuring for my home desktop windows 8. If my Windows 8 desktop rebooted my machine eight times in only a few hours of initial usage, I'd be going back to old desktop as well.
Again, very sad, because this seemed to be a great phone with great features at a low-low price. I guess when it seems too good to be true, it is. iPhone may be falling behind in some ways, but at least it's been a reliable phone for three years.
Lucky I have 14 days money back, return to old phone, no questions asked. But it took less than half a day to figure out the phone didn't work.
About the only possible fix would be some firmware upgrade promised to fix it permanently, but they had better make a big deal about publicizing, or have a million returns on their hands.

  • Lumia 920 reboots and my voice in phone calls are ...

    Hi,
I received my Lumia 920 yesterday and experienced these errors right away:
    1. When I'm in a call, the person I talk to can't hear me. Instead it is metallic or bubbling sounds when I talk. From time to time, it is possible to have a conversation for a couple of seconds, but then the weird sounds starts again.
    2. The phone reboots by itself every now and then.
    3. I can see that the coverage disapears sometimes in the top left corner.
If I call with VoIP (Lync 2013 app) there are no audio problems.
I have been in contact with my carrier (Telia, Sweden) and have got a new SIM-card, but the problems persists.
I have also tried to change Max Connection speed to 2G which seemed to help at first, but then the phone just started to reboot over and over when I tried to call.
I have also tried to reset the phone to factory defalt, but the problem persists.
The audio problems persists regardless if I'm using the headset shipped with the phone or a bluetooth headset from Jabra.

    Hi,
Since you mentioned that you already reset the phone to its factory default it would be better if you're going to visit any local Nokia Care point. I belive the problem that you have will fall under hardware issue. It has something to do with the Microphone.
Just to make sure, you can also try to perform a software update. If it will not work, visit a local Nokia Care point so technician can evaluate your phone.
