Lumia 925 cyan update problem

Hi , i updated to windows 8.1 official version on my lumia 925 and the problem im facing is the battery. It wont get me through a day of normal usage. Pls dont tell me to close wifi, glance etc. becouse i followed every single battery saving trick.

have you tried performing a soft reset, and checking you are up to date with the latest Nokia system app updates from the Store? else a hard reset may be in orde.r

Lumia 925 video recording problem!

I recently bought a lumia 925 and updated it to wp8.1 (befor that i downloaded preview for developers), everything is fine but the video recording! I can take photos but when i try to record a video, my phone just freezes after a second or two ! To be able
to use the camera again i have to restart my phone;(
I dont know if it had the problem befor! What is wrong with it?! Is there a way to revert it back to wp 8?

Lumia 925 Black update minor problem

Hello,
Just wanted to send feedback about my update experience.
- I have Lumia 925
- I have developer account and related MS updates already installed
- When installing Lumia Black, installation started normally
- During first reboot my phone got stuck at "goodbye"
- I did soft reset (screen + volume down buttons)
- Phone continued updating normally

Have you updated all your system apps following the update? If not, download and install an app called Lumia System Updater and use it to update all the system apps. See if that helps.

After Black update of my Lumia 925 Glance screen does not always display the Time , though it is always on. Try to fix this bug. Soft reset couldn't solve the problem.

Web link showing cyan update for Lumia 620 is available in India, but my mobile showing its up to date.
I am still in black update,not getting cyan update.

@sreenivasan For each update on my 620, I have got a notification telling me there's an update available. You will too Still waiting for Cyan my self.

Lumia Denim OTA Update Problem

Hi everyone,
most people are having problems with the Lumia Denim not being pushed to their CV GBIE phones, especially on the low-range phones. For example Lumia 630/635
After a discussion with @Abi99 on my own Topic. I was sent a link to the Software Recovery Tool.
I downloaded this tool and installed it, then using a cable I attached my phone to the Laptop (Like in the old days of Nokia updates) We were told with Lumia phones cables and PC's were no longer needed.... Evidently this is rubbish!
Voila! It told me an update was available for my phone although everytime I searched for the update using OTA it told me, my phone was up to date (Still on Cyan)
I'm not saying this WILL work for you, but it's worth a try!

@kevfaulkner40 in the Software Recovery Tool, what is your 7-letter code (Nokia Product Code)? No Windows computer or USB: The same code is printed on your phone (059…). That code determines your firmware variant which determines your current version. We can check together whether you have the correct variant, only with that code. Not all firmware variants have beed updated, yet. With some variants you simply have to wait. Anyway, with your code, we can look into your variant and if there are any issues.

Lumia 925 Cyan: Nokia saving on dots :)

Noticed that on date format there is no dot after month. e.g in action center there is under time date 4.7 (not 4.7. that I am used). Same applies also to photos.
Or is it so that full month is indicated as 100.0

So, you did a hard reset (I guess from Lumia's menu from "About"?) and after that running OTA for the latest update. But I thought that hard reset via the phone itself leaves its current OS/firmware version intact (ie WP8.1 & Cyan), and it just erases all personal info, settings, etc.
So my question is: How did you manage to do an OTA after hard reset? Can you please give us more details?

Thats exacty what I did. In Settings - About - and Reset....
You're right it leaves the OS at WP8.1 Cyan.... But as I mentioned I had backed up all my App settings in 'Backup" and thus just restored it after the Hard Reset. After the Hard Reset and restoration, I received a popup for a System update again. Following that, everything has been working fine as of now.

Lumia 920 - Black update problems, slow app respon...

I have had a lumia for well over a year in the UK, I updated to the black update a week ago, and the phone became completely unresponsive, similar to theDej's problem here: http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Nokia-Lumia/Phone-inoperative-after-lumia-black-update/m-p/2372351/h...
However, I contacted the carrier (EE) and they replaced the handset. I set up the replacement handset, which then prompted for the update, and I took the plunge and applied it again.
Now, although the handset mostly works, some apps have stopped functioning, and most importantly the WiFi settings and Bluetooth settings pages often become completely unresponsive, drop their connections, and dont show any available connections, so I cant reconnect to WiFi or bluetooth without restarting the phone. Also on some occasions, turning off the phone shows the "goodbye" screen, but either doesn't turn off and returns to the home screen or it magically restarts without me pressing the power button.
Has anyone come across any issues like this, is there anything I can do?

Please, try the Nokia Software Recovery Tool and report your results. We have a lot of Bluetooth/Wi-Fi issues reports since Lumia Black – no problem here. However, we have so many, sounds like several different issues.

Lumia 925 black-update phone stuck

I installed the black-update yesterday on my 925, in the beginnings no problems, but this morning when I tried to unlock my phone I typed my password but then the phone got stuck in the lock screen. After 3 minutes it automatically locked itself but now it is not unlocking anymore.
The strange thing is that my Glance is still working if I move my hand over the phone (peek). But I cannot unlock it via de unlock button (nothing is happening), I have double tap to wake switched off, and my cam app is ProCam so no chance of unlocking it via that as well. I also tried to call the phone but it is not receiving the call..
Also putting it on the charger or connection it to the computer doesn't help, screen stays black. My question is is this a software problem or is it just a coincidence and my unlock button broke during the night.. but this would't explain the not receiving calls part and also not that it is not 'unlocking' on charger or computer.
What you advice me to do now? And I don't wanna hard reset my phone...

I think you need to do a soft reset, many peoplr have reported issues with Glance screen pre and post Black update. Press and hold the Vol.down and power/screen lock keys together for few seconds till you see the 'Nokia' on the screen. You won't lose any data by doing this. I revived my L925 when I experienced same issue months back. Good luck.

Lumia 920 Software Update problems

I have a Nokia Lumia 920 on Orange in UK.
I installed the software update provided by Nokia last weekend - 02/02/2013. Since then I have only experienced issues.
Since the update my signal has been intermittant. For every 10 seconds i have signal, I go 30 minutes without. A no entry sign appears over the signal. I have checked with Orange and run numerous diagnostics over the phone and in store with Orange, the coverage from the netwrok is fine.
Tried a soft and hard reset with no improvement!! The hard reset almost stopped the phone working completely, getting stuck on the gears rotating for 5 hours.
Any ideas? Seems to have been caused by the software update!? Phone also completely blacked out and required soft restart to begin yesterday.
I want a normal phone back, nothing but problems with this 920, especially since the update?
How can i get a clear signal again, and off this forum to catch some much needed daylight!

Lumia 925 Cyan: All alarm sounds missing

Hi,
has anyone else yet counter a problem with missing sounds? Case: Alarm clock didn't woke me this morning. When I checked the phone I noticed that there was no sound from alarm clock, notification or from any other. Adjusted the sound to maximum, no help.
Battery life was running almost out and when I plugged device to charger all sounds came back.
So, be noticed that if you have important meeting in the morning that the device is plugged into charger or it might not sound an alarm to you

Soft reset is not a mandatory step in any update process and in general is not required, however it is a very useful troubleshooting tool for many issues, including potentially the one you have experienced.

Lumia 820 software update problem

I got notified via mail that phone update for Lumia 820 is released and available now for my device but when i manually tried to search it shows "we are unable to check for updates" plz some solution would be appreciated....Help!!!

Try a soft reset by holding both Volume Down and Power buttons pressed until phone vibrates and restarts. You will not lose any data or settings except possibly date and time.
If that doesn't help, try resetting the camera from settings > applications > photos+camera > reset camera.
If that doesn't help, try a hard reset from settings > about > reset your phone
If that doesn't help, try a full clean firmware reinstall using the Nokia Software Recovery Tool
If that doesn't help, take your handset to a Nokia Care Point to have it checked/repaired.

Your software is ‘Windows Phone 8.1 Update’ and your firmware indicates Lumia Denim, indeed. That higer OS version, was just a minor update not every phone model did get. We have a lot of reports of wrong display in extra+info. Therefore, I would not worry too much. To double-check go for menu » store » options » settings » check for updates.

Lumia 925, earpiece audio trouble (voice calls)

Background: I am a T-Mobile USA subscriber. Previously owned a Lumia 710, then switched to 810 when it became available. Great products; I've been very happy with both. Two weeks ago gave the 810 to another family member and got the Lumia 925.
I love the 925. The screen is great, the phone is light, and the camera amazing. Except for one thing. The first day I had the 925, I noticed that the audio from the earpiece did not no sound right. While on calls, the earpiece had a nasty buzz to it, sounding like a damaged speaker. The audio quality while on speakerphone was perfect, so I could not blame T-Mobile's network. I took the phone back to T-Mobile and they replaced it, no questions asked.
The second 925 sounded great. The earpiece audio was clear, without any buzzing or audio glitches. I was a happy man and everything was great, that is, until yesterday. Now the second 925 developed a similar bad audio quality during calls, but only from the earpiece. The speakerphone sounds fine, and using a bluetooth headset sounds fine also. It is not easy to describe the "badness" of the audio but there is a significant decrease in quality. The audio level seems to be down; with the volume all the way up, you can barely hear the other caller. The audio also has a buzzy, muffled quality to it, almost as if it is coming out of a tin can, and it is not easy to understand the caller. I tried calling my old Lumia 810 and the sound on the 810 is just fine. The trouble seems to be only the earpiece on the 925.
This morning I went back to T-Mobile and they replaced the SIM card. I'm not sure how that would help, but they said it should help if this is a network issue. That was 5 hours ago and the audio quality has not improved at all. I have also performed a full phone reset, then reloaded my previous settings, but the problem persists. At this point it appears to be a hardware issue, but it is very odd that it happened on the first 925 right away, and on the replacement one as well, but after two weeks. Beside the bad earpiece audio the phone works great. The apps work as they should, and the camera is lovely, but if I first need the device to function as a phone.
I am debating if I should try a third Lumia 925. I am a bit reluctant, as I'm afraid that it might break again. At least now it is within the 30 day return period, but what if this issue happens later? I would love to stick with Lumia but these issues with the 925 are worrisome.
Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

I was thinking how to describe my audio problems with 925 but you did it perfectly! I have exactly the same problems with the S-letters, inhaling, exhaling etc. which makes every voice call more or less annoying experience.
I was thinking to replace the unit but the longer I read this thread, the more I start to think this is "a feature" i.e. bad design and/or poor HW choices. That said, ff this is so common issue, I wonder howcome there wasn't anything about this in those several reviews L925 was subjected to when it was released. Or are the reviewers so busy in testing the 'smart phone' feature that they do not spend time to mundane stuff like voice call quality.
I love the phone otherwise; looks great, has fantastic camera, crisp and cleat display - anyhow, had I known about this, I would have left this to the store.

Havent' tried myself but if this is true, this starts to sound like some voice codec issue. ...which would be strange since one would think that the same speech encoding/decoding implementations are used in all Lumias so why would there be problems specifically in 925.
The good with this option would be that it's probably possible to fix with SW update. Provided that Nokia is aware of the problem or better yet, interested to anything about it.

Hey i am using lumia 810 cyan update and today i got. A new phone update pls tell what kind of a update is it denim and how much data need to. Install it.

If you already have Cyan then you are up to date for the moment. Denim is not expected for the 820 until 2015.
