If you have an LTE network, it should be an indicator for that.

Hi, shl111. How did you restart your phone? Is that by pressing and holding both the volume down and the power keys for 10-15 seconds? Have you also tried checking if there's an available update for your phone? If you haven't checked it yet, here's how: Software Update for Lumia with Windows Phone 8. BTW, make sure that the website is loaded completely before selecting pin to start. Let us know the outcome.

Unfortunately this doesn't set any precedent as a number of recent Nokia Lumia devices have had unpredictable issues upon their very first software release, which I am sure will be resolved in later update.

  • Nokia Lumia 925 charging

I have  a lumia 925, when I plug it in the wall it takes about 2h to fully charge.
When I connect it via usb to the pc it takes 5h or 6h to charge.
Today, I  started driving with the copilot app from antwerpen to amsterdam, 150km, and with the usb car charger plugged in, however when I arrived to amsterdam, the battery was at 7%, even I could see the icon on the top right as charging, it looks like the app drains the battery faster than the cable can charge.
Or maybe the cable cant charge via usb from car? do I need a special cable or charger?

2.1A should be quite adequate for this task. Any reputable charger brand would do.
I cannot see how you can possibly use the same cable to charge a Lumia and an iPhone, however that is irrelevant. If you are using a third-party app it is quite possible that the WP version is not coded as well as the iOS version and uses more power. That you would have to take up with the app developer.

  • Migrating to a Lumia 925 from a C6-01

    Hi all,
I currently have a Nokia C6-01 Belle phone and I've just bought myself a Lumia 925. As I expect the Lumia 925 to be delivered to my home in a couple of days, I have to make a plan on how to migrate my data from the C6-01 to the Lumia 925.
Contacts: I already synced the C6-01 to my Microsoft Live account. I managed to do that by setting up an EAS (Exchange Active Sync) email account on the C6-01. So, when I get my Lumia 925 and log into my Microsoft account, the contacts will be automatically synced.
Photos & Videos: no problem here, I'll just need to upload to my SkyDrive the media I want to see on the Lumia 925.
Nokia Maps favourite places, collections and routes are also covered: the Maps app on my C6-01 is always synced with HERE.com. All I'll have to do is sync the Lumia 925 Maps app.
Browser bookmarks: I use two browser on the C6-01: the native Belle Browser and Opera Mobile. On each of them I have a different set of bookmarks which I would like to transfer to Internet Explorer on the Lumia 925. I have no idea on how to do that.
Calendar entries and tasks (to-do): I don't know how to transfer them to the Lumia 925.
Notes: I have several notes I need to transfer to the Lumia 925.
SMS messages: I have a lot of them on my C6-01 I would like to transfer to the Lumia 925. I guess those messages are stored on the C6-01 internal memory, not on the SIM card.
I would appreciate any help you can give me on how to transfer my data from the C6-01 to the Lumia 925.
    P.S.:
I'm now reading the Lumia 925 User Manual, which says on page 14 of the UK version:
    "Copy contacts
Have your nearest and dearest instantly at your fingertips. Use the Transfer my Data app to easily copy your contacts and text messages from your old phone. Your old phone needs to support Bluetooth. The contacts on your old phone need to be stored in the
phone memory, not on the SIM."
If that's correct, it's possible to transfer SMS messages from the my old phone to the 925 via Bluetooth. What do you know about that?
    Best regards,
    Solved!

Nokia Suite (v3.6.x and later) allows for an easy transfer of contacts, calendar and photos to your Nokia Lumia Windows Phone via SkyDrive.
    Here's how this feature works;
Connect your Nokia S40, S60 or Nokia Belle phone to your PC using the USB cable.
After Nokia Suite is started and your phone shows as connected select Tools>Upload to SkyDrive and follow the on screen instructions. If you do not have one yet you will have to create a Microsoft account which has a SkyDrive attached to it. You can create such account here.
You will now have to reset your Nokia Lumia Windows Phone. Doing so will erase all content from the phone and return it to it's 'out of the box' state. Make sure you have synced any media files to your PC (Zune for WP7.x devices / copy them through explorer on WP8.x devices) or Mac(Connector). You can sync these back after the reset. When finished reset your Nokia Lumia Windows Phone using Settings>about>reset your phone.
Go through the Device First Use sequence and when asked enter your Microsoft Account used to save the content from Nokia Suite. When the setup has finished your will find your contacts, calendar and photos have all transferred to your Lumia. These will also be available through your Microsoft account through the web interface. The list of installed (paid) apps is also restored and the phone will start downloading these once the restore is complete. You can switch to WiFi for this if you have access.
It is important to note this transfer will only work to the Nokia Lumia at the Device First Use sequence (after a reset). If you have your Lumia setup it will not look for or sync the information copied to SkyDrive through Nokia Suite.
SMS message can not be transferred directly, but you can export all messages in Nokia Suite (Messaging>File/Export all text messages) and open the resulting Comma Separated File (.csv) in Excel or OpenOffice Calc to create an Excel sheet (.xls file) this can then be copied to your SkyDrive and opened from the Office app. You could also use a tool to create separate files from the exported .CSV file and copy all of these to SkyDrive.
I would begin with using Nokia Suite to transfer the data you can transfer this way tou the SkyDrive registered to your Microsoft account as you can do this now. When you receive the 925 make sure cellular data is enabled during the Device first use sequence and once you enter the Microsoft account login and password the data will sync to the phone from there.
Anthing else after that you might want to let us know so we can see what best way to do this.

  • NFC Lumia 925

    Hi there.
I´ve just bought five NFC Tags (through the Nokia NFC writer).
I was looking forward to try them irl..
But what a disappointment.... Let me give you an example. I wrote a tag, making it send a text message for my wife, when i leave work, saying "i´m on my way home"
First of all, i´ve got to accept that the phone writes a message. then i have to push the "send" icon.
I have read a lot about Just pointing my phone (Lumia 925) to the NFC tag, and then, the phone, could do different kinds og things, silence the phone, write a message, make a call and so on.
imo it´s useless if i still have to accept, send or whatever it is.
     anyone with the same experience??
how come the wp8/lumia can´t do the commands on its own??
is it a feature that will receive an update to do so??
I´m from Denmark, but that shouldn´t be a problem??
Hope someone can bring on the good news

I think this feature saves you from writing down the message , the write and send message is for your own security , imagine someone setting up a NFC tag to send premium messages , what will happen to your bill then.

  • Lumia 925 - Advertised as 32GB Storage?

    Hello,
I have reviewed the specifications of the new Lumia 925 (http://www.nokia.com/gb-en/phones/phone/lumia925/specifications/) where it states Mass Memory as 32 GB, however that appears to be extremely misleading as currently only Vodafone are offering a 32GB version and they are not offering the device on PAYG or SIM Only.
Can you please confirm when I can purchase a Lumia 925 with 32GB (as advertised) without the limitation of commiting to a Vodafone contract (no Vodafone reception in the vicinity of my home, O2 has full strength)?
    Thanks.

Whether or not 32 stays exclusive the website should mention this in the specs. I would agree that as-is this is misleading or at least incorrectly represented.

  • Data Transfer: 701 - Lumia 925

Hello there, I am contemplating buying a Lumia 925. At the moment, I have a Nokia 701. Using Nokia Data Transfer on the 925, can anyone tell me if it's possible to transfer my text messages to the Lumia? I tried the latest version of Nokia's data transfer app on a 820 and for some reason transfering text messages was unfortunately not available. Is there a chance it could work on a 925? Or does it not work with the 701 S^3? I need to know this before I make the purchase. Thanks in advance!

    It does..
Transfer my Data is a quick and easy way of copying contacts from almost any phone (Symbian, Android, iOS, BlackBerry, Windows Phone and others) to your new Windows Phone using Bluetooth. Some phones may also be capable of transferring text messages and pictures, including many Nokia phones. Transfer my Data copies all your contacts into the Windows Phone People Hub, from where it’s easy to call, mail, chat or follow friends on your favorite social network. On supported phones, contacts and messages can also be transferred to and from an SD card.

  • Video playback, Lumia 925

I searched for an answer to my problem and suspect I may have found the answer to want to confirm it.  I have a short video clip (3 minutes) that I want to put on my Lumia 925.  The video is in DV-AVI format from a MiniDV camcorder. The spec is standard definition PAL so it is 720x576, interlaced, with a frame rate of 25fps.  Despite the Nokia spec stating that the phone will play back AVI it doesn't want to know.  The spec also says it will play back mpg files so I have converted the file to PAL DVD compliant mpeg2 (720x576, 25fps, interlaced) with a bitrate of 8Mbps.  The phone won't play that either.  Now I am not a fan of high compression codecs but, as the spec for my phone says it will play back H264 mpeg4, I have converted it to that but retaining the original resolution and framerate.  I tried the file as both a .mp4 and a .m4v but it still refuses to even acknowloedge they exist.  I am copying the files to the Video folder in the phone but when I go to Music+Videos, Videos, it tells me there are no video files on the phone.
Could it be that the Nokia spec says the phone will play back 30fps so it doesn't recognise my 25fps files as being video?  Only SD NTSC video uses 30fps (well, 29.97 actually) while PAL uses 25fps so why doesn't a UK market phone support the UK standard?  I noticed that the video camera cannot be changed from the default 30fps either.

I guess you could use something like handbrake. Also check this.

  • Lumia 925 RM-910 abroad

    Hello there,
I bought a Lumia 925 carried by china Unicom, and have taken the device to Canada. While most things seem to work fine, Facebook integration is missing. I can download the app, but not sync contacts etc to the account. Is this a firmware problem? If so, how do I fix it? What firmware should I flash my device with?
    thanks!
    regards,
    David

For Facebook contacts to sync to the phone you need to set up your facebook account in settings>email+accounts
I can't really say whether this is  or or not supported on Chinese Firmware. We are not allowed to discuss any topics on unofficial methods to update a Nokia device here so beyond that, I'd have to give you a 'no comment'.

  • Lumia 925 Wifi calling

Does Lumia 925 comes with Wifi calling on T-Mobile...???
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I have had a 925 since July 17th, first day on T-Moblie.  There is a large icon on the screen for it. However, WIFI calling does not work. The T-Moblie tech support people have been overly delightful, charming, etc. However, even with changing out the Sim card, changing out the phone, it still does not work. I am now waiting for a third set of engineers to dazzle me with a solution.
You can quickly test out WiFi calling. Click the WiFi icon on the main screen. Set WiFi Calling to WiFi ONLY.  Next check your wifi connection to the net by opeing the browser and connecting to a website of your choice. If you see it, your connected.
Once confirmed, now try to place a Call. It will quickly tell you that the call has ending, and you have no CELL connection.
Now, here is what I think is wrong.  When you want to make a call over WiFi, you need to make a Internet network connection to a secure T-Moblie VOIP server first.  Watching via packet sniffing on my network, I saw no such packet connections being attempted.
I hope they get this fixed soon.

  • Lumia 925 got wet

My lumia 925 got wet when it was turned off. I placed it in my bag after turning it off, when it started raining. Later when i tried turning it on, it did not. It is in warranty. What do i do

Put it in a bag of rice for a few days to let the moisture come out.
Water damage is never covered under warranty, it's not a manufaturers defect. If you're lucky it will come back on.

  • How to tell if a Lumia 925 is connected to 3G netw...

Hello, On my old Nokia E7, when I select network mode to "3G only", the tower icon changes to "3.5G".
On my Lumia 925, when I'm selecting "Max connection speed" to "3G", there is an "E" beside the tower icon, not "3G".
    Why?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I called up my mobile operator's helpline regarding this, I'm so impatient
Turns out I did not have 3G services activated on my number.
They activated the 3G thing for me, asked me to switch off the phone and turn it back on after 5 minutes.
I did that, and I think I'm on 3G now, web pages are opening instantly, the speed has increased a lot.
However, I still don't see "3G" beside the tower.
Now it doesn't even show "E".
    It shows "H".
    What is "H"?

  • Lumia 925 WP 8.1: Use PC (win7pro) as BT headset

    Hi,
I need to answer my calls (and possibly also texts) via my notebook (to use the PC as a headset). Hope I understood it correctly that the WP app does not support this. So I tried to add the phone via BT. It is not able to install the drivers; so I installed the standard serial over BT lines. Still does not offer the services. Could you, please, help me?
    Configuration:
    Lumia 925, WP 8.1
    HP PB 6570b
    Thanks

Windows Phone supports this just fine otherwise it would also not work in your car. It's the Bluetooth stack on your laptop which does not support it being used for this.
