Lumia Denim performacnce is not good as Cyan. I have lumia 925 and it is heating more after upgrade.
What OS giant??
I reset the phone but still it is worst.
It heats like a hell.
Lumia is like wired phone. very poor battery performance.
So many Apps are not able to start.
I was happy with Cyan. Denim is not so great as expected.

Nokia Lumia 822 Lumia Denim Update from Verizon

Hello All,
I have enrolled in Developer Preview on Nokia Lumia 822. My WPhone got windows 8.10.14219.341
The firmware version is 3051.40000.1352.0042 and it shows Lumia Black in the extras + info.
When I got the Verizon update, i tried to update several times.
It successfully downloads and prepares to install.
When it reboots and try to install the patch, it finishes quickly.
I get the message:
It's probably a temporary problem. To Try again, go to settings > Phone Update 0x80188308.
What should I do to get Lumia Denim update on my phone? Reset the phone ?
Please advise.

Denim update and connection fail for microsoft web services

Denim update loaded recently to my Lumia 1020 but fail connection to Microsoft account and web services as well as to Nokia account. Fail code is 502;
Server Error 502 - Web server received an invalid response while acting as a gateway or proxy server.

It might have not propagated to all servers yet and there are some reports that possible those in the Preview for Developers Program are getting BSOD updating, The Denim update for my Lumia Icon killed the phone
Give it some time and see if the update gets to you or not.

Lumia Denim update for Lumia 630DS

Microsoft told that all the Lumias will get denim update by the end of February but till now there is no denim update for Lumia 630 dual sim in India.

should be soon hopefully as other regions in Asia and Europe have already received the update. sit tight its coming.

No sir, I unistalled that app after microsoft started to release wp 10 preview for dev because 1020 it's not on the list for preview at this moment.

Difference between FOR UPDATE NOWAIT and no FOR UPDATE NOWAIT

I have a quick question relating to the difference in SELECT statements and the use of FOR UPDATE NOWAIT.
Example:
If I query the following
SELECT * FROM ZX_LINES WHERE APPLICATION_ID = :B4 AND ENTITY_CODE = :B3 AND EVENT_CLASS_CODE = :B2 AND TRX_ID = :B1
/ with binds parsed, the result in Autotrace is as follows:
consistent gets     87
consistent gets - examination     2
consistent gets from cache     87
However, if I query the following

So, I'm trying to understand why it happens that a FOR UPDATE NOWAIT requires so many more consistent gets, as opposed to not using a FOR UPDATE?

The main difference is that when you use FOR UPDATE Oracle has to LOCK each row.
How many rows will your query return?
Did you notice that in the second example ALL of the consistent gets were from the cache?
Did you notice all of the block gets? And that ALL of them were from the cache?

Update nowait only with for update?

Aparently there is no "nowait" option for simple sql update statements. It exists only in "select .... for update nowait".
As oracle does a implicit row lock anyway upon execution of a normal update statement, i thought it would be handy
if I could write the following statement in order to not have to wait if another session is locking the current row:
update my_table set attr_y = 'val_z' where my_key = 123 nowait;
As this doesn't exist, I tried the following:
declare
v_key number;
begin
select my_key into v_key from my_table where my_key = 123 for update nowait;
update my_table set attr_y = 'val_z' where my_key = 123;
commit;
end;
When I block this record with another session (update without commit), this perfectly works,
I get the desired exeption.
Now this is probably not "the way to do this". Are there any other solutions?

What you are performing is typically called "pessimistic locking"

Availability of the Lumia Denim update in South Af...

I'm a proud user of cyan and a Nokia Lumia 520 here in south Africa.. Denim had ruled out January 2015 but still I haven't received any software update but here's is what I know that denim is available in south Africa cause a friend of mine has the same phone module but registered on MTN and had successfully updated his phone to denim whilst on Lumia phones registered on VODACOM and CELLC haven't yet received the update.. Can anyone explain what's going on is there a way That i can get denim or will this be the same case with windows 10

If your phone has Vodacom's customised software variant then it could be waiting for Vodacom's testing and approval.

Denim update has broken accelerometer on Lumia 930 (UK CV). Anyone experiencing this?

Hey all,
After the denim firmware update my 930's accelerometer starting lagging badly (2 or 3 seconds). This is either on games or just the normal screen rotation.. I found more people with the same problem after the update, so far only in the UK CV.
I haven't found a solution yet, only thing I haven't tried is a hard reset and I'd really like to avoid that. It is really annoying as I'm developing an app that depends on the accelerometer..
I contacted @LumiaHelp on twitter, and they directed me here.
Anyone with the same problem? Resolution suggestions (without hard resetting) ?

Lumia Black update doesnt appear on my Lumia 625.

I have a lumia 625 which was gifted to me by my parents from Dubai. Im not able to see an update for my phone. Whenever I check for any new software updates, it always says that the phone is uptodate. Im wondering if it is because the phone is from Dubai that im not able to update the software in India.
Could anyone please help me out if there is any solution to this problem?
