Lumia - Lock Screen Password

I want to enable password for my lock screen. But it doesnt work as I expected. It says that I can set a particular time that password will enable. And I did set for example one minute till the password will enable, before a minute and my screen is locked, I have to input the password.
and i'm wondering why the lock screen password also lock my child enable screen? The password should be enable only for my screen, not to my kid screen.
I hope, nokia or microsoft can solve this ackward. Thank you.

cannot say why you are having a challenge if the kids corner is locking too.
are you sure that when you tap the power button to turn on, that you are swiping to the right FIRST and then up? because on my device, the lock shows on my screen but after i swipe to the kids login, it does not require the pin.

  • What happens when you reach the maximum number of failed attempts on the lock screen password of iPod Touch?

    Do you get the screen that says, "iPod is disabled. Connect to iTunes", or do you get that screen when you reach the maximum number attempts on the restrictions password?

    Thank you. I am out of town traveling and my daughter sent me a picture saying the got the before mentioned message. She told me she forgot her lock screen password, and that just boggled my mind considering she locks and unlocks that thing 1000 times daily. I automatically assumed she was trying to guess the password I put on the restrictions page.

    Pease help me I can't get into my iPod when I put my lock screen password but it doesn't even show it's hard please help me

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    If iTunes is asking you to enter the iPod then yo have to restore and thus erase the iPod after you place the iPod in recovery mode. Otherwise:

    You may have to do this several times.
    Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom
    Connect the iOS device to your computer and restore via iTunes. Place the iPod in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
    If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.
  • IMac lock screen password not working
    I know my Apple ID & Password and they both work for every purpose on my iMac except the lock screen. If I swipe my mouse in a certain way (and I'm not exactly sure which mouse gesture it is) but it locks my screen and demands a password be entered to unlock it. However, it doesn't accept my normal Apple password, the same password I use to install things or for purchases etc. I have to do a hard reboot and it logs on as normal. Any idea why?
    I only know of one password I've ever used on this Mac. I've also tried 2 other passwords that I sometimes use for other things to no avail. Are there any set rules for the password format for the lock screen? If it has some very specific rules I might have adapted my password slightly and then forgotten it!
    What can I do to unlock my phone??
    Enter your lock screen passcode. If you don't remember it sync the phone to the last computer you synced to. And if you can't do that you will have to restore your phone as New. You will lose all of the data on your phone.
  • What do i do if i forgot my lock screen password???
    what do i do if i forgot my lock screen passcode?????
    If you have forgotten the iPad passcode and you cannot unlock the device, you have to restore the device within iTunes. You want to use the same computer that you always sync with so that you can restore your app data and settings. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the iPad.
    Instructions can be found here.
    You will probably need to restore using Recovery Mode. You can read about it here.
  • Lost iPod 3rd generations lock screen password, What do I do?
    My cousin let his friend use his ipod (3rd Gen) and he locked the screen and everything and he wont give me the password. What do i do to fix this. And i dont want to erase any of his music,movies, and stuff.
    Connect the iPod to the computer you normally use it with (the first one that the iPod synced with) and open iTunes. Then disconnect the iPod from the computer and it should no longer be locked.
    If that doesn't work, you'll need to restore it.
