Lumia520 photos get corrupted when transfered or c...
i have a lumia 520 (amber updated; purchased about 3 months back; india).
when i click photos, i am able to see them on the phone.
when i transfer them (whether through windows phone app or file transfer) to my windows 8 laptop, OR when i upload them on skydrive, i can see some photos, while some can not be opened(message - windows photo viewer can't open this picture because the file appears to be damaged, corrupted or is too large)
these 'corrupted' pictures show up as a blue square in the PC and skydrive.
i am not even able to edit some of the photos on the phone.
and i recently found that these photos that i am not able to edit on the phone are the ones that show up as corrupted files in skydrive and my PC.
i am stumped as to why some photos are ok and some don't open?

try to do a soft reset and see if it is just a setting that keeps crashing when uploading or transferring to your pc.
if that doesn't work, then you should do a full hard reset.
if it was just that you couldn't get the files from the skydrive after uploading through your wifi, then I would say that there could have been issues in the transmission where maybe you were cut off the wifi before the file completed, causing the error. however, you are also having issues with cable transfer of the files to your pc directly and with the windowsphone application you downloaded from the windows 8 store and adjusting/editing those same files on your device itself, suggesting you could have file corruption.
the soft reset should fix it if it is some setting that seems to be getting stuck in the process of transferring items from the device. if it doesn't, back up any images/videos/etc from your device and then try the hard reset after.
Soft Reset-
Hold Vol- & Pwr until the device shuts down
When the device vibrates and starts to reboot, release ONLY Pwr button, still holding the Vol-
When you see the (!) on your screen, then release the Vol- button and wait until the device boots.
Your device is now soft reset
Hard Reset- (THIS COMPLETELY ERASES ALL DATA ON THE PHONE, BACK UP YOUR DATA FIRST)
Hold Vol- & Pwr until the device shuts down
When the device vibrates and starts to reboot, release ONLY Pwr button, still holding the Vol-
When you see the (!) on your screen, then release the Vol- button
Immediately, in sequence, tap Vol+, Vol-, Pwr, Vol-
The device will show gears and begin wiping the device to a factory restored version.
Device will reboot.
Your device is now soft reset

I'm trying to understand the implications of working with photos in PSE 6 and then moving to PE 4 vs. just doing it directly in PE 4.

2. I have all my photos in PSE 6 and want to to create a slide show there and then move it to PE 4 to touch it up or do some fancy stuff to it. Will the photos be resized so PE 4 won't have trouble with them or do i need to resize them in PSE 6, reimport them into PSE 6, build the slide show, and THEN send it to PE 4?eric,

for reasons why I think that for your current objectives, working in Premiere Elements (rather than making a slide show in PSE) will be a better choice.

A couple of considerations
1- Where will you establish the sequence of the photos in the slide show?
Are you making an Album in PSE 6 in order to establish the sequence of the slides as you are selecting which photos to use? if YES, we can experiment with sending the photo files in their Album sequence to Premiere Elements.
Or will you establish the sequence of the photos within Premiere Elements?
2- When working in Premiere Elements will you be able to do the 600 slides in a single PE project?
I don't know the answer to this: it will be influenced by your system configuration. -
Why are my itunes-synced songs and pictures are incomplete (corrupted) when transfered to my iPhone? E.g. songs start from somewhere in the middle and glitch continiously. This is a big problem which means all my windows -> iphone pictures are half black or glitched on the iphone. Also my songs are completely glitched. I have tried resyncing and different USB-ports.
Same problem on Iphone 4s AND windows 7. Really annoying that I can't have any music on my brand NEW device.

Yes, but you should not rely on that, and they are not viewable. They are only for restoring your iphone.
You should be importing all pics taken with the iphone to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera. -
How do I recover photos that corrupted when I upgraded to iphoto 11?
I just installed iphoto 11 on my macbook and stupidly didn't back up my library, When the library was rebuilt, 40 photos have corrupted - weirdly, all the corrupted photos are black and white, landscape - and any photos in the sequence that are portrait are just fine. i can still see the photos as thumbnails, but can't open them.
I have tried 3 things:
Clearing iphoto preferences and cache (didn't work)
Repairing the library (it gets stuck every time at 74% and then I have to force quit)
Downloading iphoto library manager and rebuilding the library (it entirely deletes the corrupted images)
E-mailing myself the images (not sure where I was going with this one, but it wouldn't let me e-mail them anyway!)
Missing photos are the first photos of our newborn baby so pretty anxious to get them back... anyone got any bright ideas?Without a backup you are probablhy out of luck - remember that withou a backup you are guarenteed to lose your files including your photos sooner or later - things happen and a backup is the only protection you have against hardware, software and human failure
It may be because the photos were B/W - unless they had a RGB color profile then that is the most likely cause - iPhoto does not work with other color profiles including grey scale - what was the source of these photos?

PDF file gets corrupted when generated from BSP

I am generating a PDF file from a BSP page ( see the code below). The problem is that PDF file gets corrupted and I am unable to open it. I also tried to use other functions like GUI_Download and DOwnload as suggested by many and they also do not work either. Has any one generated a PDF from BSP and can some one help?

Excel files getting corrupted when editing locally
We are getting corrupted files when using "edit locally". Editing seems to work fine, but when the next user tries to open the file it is corrupted. This error only occurs intermittently. When checking the logs I found below error message:

Anyway, the camera only came with a Windows disk. Per the manufacturer, it doesn't need mac drivers, and the windows drivers are only for the web cam function (which i don't use.)
The camera is formatted under FAT32 (Windows) format. I couldn't run permissions repair. I did do a repair disk under disk utility. Still having the issues.
I tried iMovie. I can import the avi file from the camera, and it works!!!!
So it would appear that there's a bad codec in QT/Perian/VLC? -
Photos get lighter when I switch from 1.1 RAW to 2.0 RAW
All of my photos get a bit lighter and less saturated when I switch to using the 2.0 RAW decoder. I prefer the 1.1 decoder, except there are fewer options. This is with all default settings. It would be a shame to have to then go and darken and tweak the saturation on every shot.
since the decoder varies for each camera, i think it depends on the camera you are using..i have the same issue with my 5D..images get lighter and less saturated..however images shot with my 40D get darker and more saturated..
for the 5D images though, i do gain more detail in the shadow areas..but for most of my photos that have already been tweaked/adjusted, there's no need for me to go back and reinvent the wheel by tweaking again. -
ActiveX Automation Reference getting corrupted when sharing with Teststand
I am using ActiveX Automation to interact with a 3rd Party Software. I use LabVIEW Functional Global to store the activeX reference. I have some low-level APIs with the Automation Refnum In and Out and few high level APIs which use the reference from Functional Global. I am also using these APIs in Teststand. When I store the Automation Reference in the Teststand Local Variable and pass it to the low-level APIs, It was working fine. But when I pass the Reference from the Teststand Local Variable to the Functional Global and use it afterwards, the reference is getting corrupted and I am getting error.
I have created a prototype of the situation using ActiveX call to Skype from LabVIEW. The attached file has 3 Teststand sequences explaining the situation.

I am using the WinXP and I am calling the DLL provided by Pirouette for their chemometrics software. I just solved the error -2147467262, but the new error comes out is :

I get my memory card corrupted when I transfer large size files to it (usually movies)...
and it doesn't return to bormal unless I format it.
What can I do? I want to stay having these videos on my memory card to watch them on my n73.

INCX file names gets mangled when transfered to Windows
When I export my InCopy articles from InDesign CS3, I can choose the file name BUT InDesign adds some of the text within the article to the file name.
If special Scandinavian characters is in the file names and we pack the files with zip compression, the file names gets corrupted and the editors can't check in the files to edit them.
How do we pack the files in a way so that this corruption does not happen. Yes, we can burn a hybrid CD-R but since we need to distribute the files over the internet, this is not an option for us...

My HD gets corrupted when using FF 21. I revert back to 20 and everything is fine.
I am using MAC PRO, system 10.6.8 and for some reason, I upgraded to FF 21 and my HD started to get corrupted. I had to revert back to 20 and everything seem to be ok. I used disk utility to fix it and that worked but am afraid if I continue to upgrade I will get these error messages. I am not sure if this is the issue.

Basically, I've already described the problem. Some songs play perfectly fine in itunes but the same songs corrupt when placed on different devices of varying age. Therefore, I don't think there's something wrong with the original file and I don't think there's something wrong with all of my devices. Why is this happening and how can I fix it?

I was researching the issue you are experiencing, and have come to the conclusion that the songs in question may need to be converted and re imported. This article, iTunes: How to convert a song to a different file format outlines how to re import songs that are already in your itunes library, which I believe will resolve the issue.

To convert a song's file format:
Open iTunes Preferences.
Windows: Choose Edit > Preferences.
Mac: Choose iTunes > Preferences.
Click the General button, then click the Importing Settings button in the second section of the window.

Select one or more songs in your library, then from the Advanced menu, choose one of the following (The menu item changes to show what's selected in your Importing preferences):

Works from a 32 bit XP machine. Does not work from a 64bit Win 7 machine. It's 64 bit that seems to be the issue; the music won't start playing, and for pictures, it's when they're more than 768x1024 resolution that they appear very low resolution and/or corrupt. None of the normal tricks work (different user account; different USB port; different USB hub controller) and the problem is replicable. The music and JPEG and PNGs, however, are fine if transferred via a Windows network to a 32 bit machine ie it's not the music/image files.
Dear Katrina, the problem has finally been solved, with the help of a computer-savvy friend of mine who came round this afternoon. As a courtesy, and to thank you for all your help in this matter, I want to share the solution with you.
A piece of the puzzle was missing, as you said, and it lay in the tenth line of the XML document I relayed to you....

My friend spotted that the command string contained a sub-folder of the iTunes folder called "iTunes Media". iTunes was expecting to find all my music there, but that folder didn't exist.
So I created a new folder called "iTunes Media", and moved all my musical content into it, leaving all the command files in the original iTunes folder.
Then I moved the "iTunes Media" folder into the "iTunes" folder, so that it was a sub-folder of the latter.
Then I re-opened iTunes and - joy of joys! - everything works once again. I am re-united with all of my music, and without having to make over 14,000 manual location exercises. I can't tell you how exciting that is.
The mystery is solved, and what had me so puzzled seems obvious now. Thanks again for your help. Without you I might never have got to this point. -
Large Photo Gets cropped when displayed in 4:3
I put a large still into my movie but the left and right portions are cropped out when I view it as a movie with a 4:3 ratio. What can I do to the photo to get the whole thing to display?

Exporting unicode characters to PDF using JRC not working.
