Lumira Desktop 1.7million register

Hi, I'm trying to prototype a Lumira use case with 1.7million registers and using xls files on my desktop. With this amount of data it's being really difficult to work with Lumira due to the data volume. (and even worse with maps). My question is if the server version this would work flawlessly. (HANA would send aggregated data for each analysis OR it would send 1.7 million and the all data would be handled by my desktop, in the same way of loading from a xls/csv file? I know HANA would delivery 1,7 million registers fast out of 20 million for example, my doubt is how Lumira server edition would handle the 1,7 million registers)

Hello,
You don’t have to download the data from SAP HANA Lumira server. You can view data and create visualizations from a SAP HANA cube by selecting the option “connect to SAP HANA” while acquiring the data.
More information regarding this option is available in the link below.

  • SAP Lumira Desktop - Lumira Server problem

    Hi everyone,
Since a couple of days I try to publish some reports from SAP Lumira Desktop on SAP Lumira Server. Both versions are 1.15 and SAP HANA version is rev70.
I installed Lumira Server as mentioned in installation guide. Imported package, created related users with needed roles and did define user in xs engine admin. But when I try to connect from Lumira Desktop to Lumira Server I get the error below. I also attached the error trace I found in HANA.
Unfortunately  couldn't resolve the problem and I'm not sure where to look.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
I checked the trace file in Lumira desktop and found the error below. Any ideas?

  • SAP Lumira Desktop

    Hi All,
i have a question about the different editions of SAP Lumira Desktop.
Can i connect to SAP BO universes with the standard edition of SAP Lumira Desktop? Or is there any other edition which i need for this connectivity?
    Regards,
    Arne

    HI Tammy,
    thanks for youre fast answer.
I was a little bit confused as i read the following Webinar Series.
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/00a70a76-c7b1-3110-b5b1-c28faa45121d?QuickLink=index&…
On page 37 i read that there are three different edition of SAP Lumira Desktop.
    1. SAP Lumira, personal edition - Free
    2. SAP Lumira, standard edition - Connect to all data sources including SAP Hana, but NOT Universes (BI suite and Edge)
    3. SAP Lumira (for BI suite and Edge customers) - Connect to all data sources including SAP HANA and univereses

  • Uploaded visualization with years not sorted as in Lumira desktop

    All,
I recently created a line chart with Years as the X axis (years from Time Hiearchy created from date field)
Got it the way i wanted on desktop using current release, uploaded to cloud.
When viewing the chart, the years are not in order.  The appear to be reversed, but not quite.
so locally it is 2000, 2001, ...2014, left to right on the axis.
    on cloud it is
2013, 2014, 2012,----2000, left to right on axis..
    very odd.
    anyone else seen this?
    thanks
    jim

I would suggest that a support ticket gets logged with SAP support, to make sure this get fixed.
    Thanks
    Antoine

  • How to trace log file of Lumira Agent

    Hi All,
I found Lumira Client log file in "C:\Program Files\SAP Lumira\Desktop\debug.log". It maintains all logs like registerResourcePath,Registering Datasource, etc.
But Lumira Agent not maintain any log for
how many new rows added in local data source or cloud data source?
any connection error for Lumira cloud?
    any Scheduler error for starting?
    refreshing start time?
    etc
Is it any tool or any file that maintain log?
    Thanks,
    Somnath A. Kadam

    Hi,
    1. an indicator of the # delta rows is not something that exists in the product yet. it would make a nice enhancement actually.
    2. Yes, the lumira desktop log file (as discussed in your other thread) would capture cloud login errors. but obviously, it is not possible for you to see the traces from the cloud infrastructure.
    3. the refresh timestamp would be maintained on the resulting scheduled document (information in the footer)
    4. Internally, we are asking for information about tracing the Agent - this is a very valid point.
I believe that these issues are also being tracked internally via your Support ticket? personally, i would recommend that you focus on that investigation with engineering.

  • Windows 8.1 Mail App doesn't sync Exchange account on desktop but does on laptop

I was referred to this forum by another Microsoft engineer, and while I do not believe this is where this problem can be resolved, I'm following his instructions.
I have Windows 8.1 on my desktop PC and an ASUS X205TA laptop. For several months, the three accounts I have under Mail (two Outlook.com accounts and one Microsoft Exchange work account) synced properly on my desktop.
In fact, the Mail app on my desktop worked fine with my Exchange account from the first time I used it under Windows 8 in 2012. The version didn’t seem to matter – whether it was Windows 8 Consumer Preview, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1, the Mail app
connected to my Microsoft Exchange account simply by filling in my email address and password.
Sometime this past summer, however, in the July timeframe, the Mail app stopped synchronizing with my Exchange account. In an effort to repair it, I removed and attempted to reinstall the account. This time, it would not let me load the Exchange account, even
when including additional information (domain, server, user name, et. al.).
This past fall, I purchased the ASUS notebook with Windwows 8.1 installed, and I was able to successfully load my Exchange account in Windows Mail using just my email address and password, as well as the two Outlook.com accounts, and all three accounts synchronize
properly. When I went back to my desktop, however, I noticed that the Liberty email account was listed under my Mail app. Apparently, since my laptop and desktop configurations are registered under the same Microsoft account, when they synchronized, the Liberty
email account which I successfully loaded on my notebook appeared on my desktop system as well.
The Mail app on the desktop, however, still can’t synchronize with my Exchange account so, in effect, I’m back to where I was in July. I would also add that I'm running Microsoft Outlook 2013 on my desktop and laptop and, in both cases, all three of my email
accounts are installed and working properly.
I don’t know if this information gives you insight into what the problem might be, but it’s apparent that there’s something in the configuration of my desktop Windows Mail app that is causing the problem. It’s working just fine on my notebook.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Mail app multiple times, run the App Troubleshooter, and tried a Clean Boot installation of the Exchange account. None of these fixed the problem.
As I told the other Microsoft engineer, if this were an Exchange problem, I wouldn't be able to connect to my Exchange account in Outlook 2013 on my desktop and my laptop, nor would I be able to connect to my Exchange account using Windows 8.1 Mail
    on my laptop.
The problem is specifically with the Windows 8.1 Mail app on my desktop PC, and its sudden inability to sync with my Exchange account after it worked in every iteration of Windows 8 since 2012.
I have posted this issue in this forum as suggested, but my troubleshooting does not point to an Exchange problem, but rather a Windows 8.1 Mail app problem on my desktop PC.
    Can you help?

    Hello ronontheright,
Do you mean that only the Exchange account in the desktop Mail app can’t sync?
Please take a look at the following article.
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2012/11/26/supporting-windows-8-mail-in-your-organization.aspx
Exchange ActiveSync can be used to sync data for email, contacts, and calendar. The Windows 8 Mail app supports Exchange ActiveSync.
Please open the Windows Store app Calendar and People to check if they can normally sync.
Please try to remove the account in Mail app and sign in again and check if the issue still exists.

  • Lumira 1.17.1 is not working in windows7 32 bit OS

    Hello Experts,
We recently upgrading the lumira desktop enterprise edition from 1.15 to 1.17.1 version in windows 7 SP1,32 bit OS.(4GB RAM)
We have installed 32 bit lumira desktop version with admin rights and installation was done without any errors.
When we click on SAPLumira.exe file, there is no action and nothing happen and we are not able to get the lumira screen.
    Need your suggestions.
    Regards,
    Vinay

    Hi,
is the problem systematically reproducible on all 'upgraded' workstations?
Are you able to try Uninstall SP15, then Install SP17 in 2 steps to see if that makes any difference?
before re-installing, additionally I would recommend deleting these locations (and their contents):
    C:\Users\<user>\.sapvi
    C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\SAP\Lumira
first, shut down any other windows applications, then  try 'run as admin' when starting/launching the application.
this could well be a platform/resource problem. 32 bit is not optimal for Lumira, hence the proposed move over here: http://scn.sap.com/message/15190775#15190775

  • Access to SAP Lumira cloud fails

    Hi,
I am trying to share the data set & visulizations created in Lumira to the SAP Lumira cloud. When I try to publish to Cloud; I always get a warning message"Session could not be opened" (as attached) during logon. I have never been able to go past this.

Please let me know the reason behind this session logon error.

    Hi,
    I see this a lot :
new Lumira Cloud account - works ok over a browser
new Lumira desktop install - Cloud account login doesn't work ... wrong password etc
How to solve this ? it's quite easy actually:
    Use a browser like Chrome.
access the Cloud URL . Do NOT click login (i.e. to accept the token) -> click Cancel instead .
this gives you the option to enter a user/pwd manually.
    Click "reset password"
get your new password via email.
    Login to cloud Manually.
    Login to Desktop Manually.
    it will work.

  • Unable to Publish LUMS file to Lumira Server on HANA

    Hi SCN Community,
I did quite a bit of research on this topic on SCN and other blogs but couldn't find the answer. I did all the configuration according to KBA 1995325.
I have installed Lumira Server 1.23 on HANA SPS9. I have went through the configuration guide and done all the configuration I can find via Fiori portal.
The issue I am having is I can create a lums document(tried Excel, Universe, HANA online/offline) in Lumira Desktop and it works fine but when I publish it to Lumira Server I get the following error. I get the same error when I try to create a data set in Lumira Server itself.
Also I can publish the same lums document to Lumira Cloud and it works fine.
I will appreciate any help. Thanks
1st screenshot is of the published doc and the 2nd is when I try to create a data set

    Hi Gaurav,
Try it without using Proxy (under Network, Preferences), and also (in case of online HANA view) use the same server name (including the domain name) in both the connection dialog, and Network, Preferences dialog.

  • New Dataset button disabled in Lumira

    Hello All,
We have installed licensed version of Lumira desktop. We are using version 1.17.2. When we connect to HANA system, in the 'Prepare' tab, the option to add 'New dataset' is disabled. However if we use Lumira to connect to SQL via ODBC, the option becomes enabled.
Also there multiple options under the 'Share' tab like Export as file, Publish to SAP HANA,publish to explorer, Lumira cloud, Lumira server, SAP Streamwork and publish to SAP BI available when we connect to SQL. However none of these options are available when we connect to HANA expect, publish to lumria server.
Has anyone faced similar issues? We are currently user HANA sp6 and we have not installed Lumira server on BI. In such situations is there a way to share the Lumira content among the users?
Also when I click on Help-> Enter Keycode, it says you can enter a keycode to unlock disabled features, but it also says I have installed SAP Lumira Perpetual licence. Is there any other license we need to install ?
    Thanks,
    Aamod.

    Hi,
when working in HANA Online mode you are not acquiring any data locally into the local Sybase instance on the desktop.  That's why you cannot enrich/transform the data (in prepare room).
With regards to Sharing, I presume you have a Story you want to publish, based on a HANA Online source. For reasons of security and governance, that data should not leave that HANA instance... Therefore, you can only publish to the Lumira Server which is hosted on that same HANA server.
