Lumira 'processDPCommandsEx' API Err_WIS_30270

Hi,
when connecting to a IDT universe with Lumira (1.15.1 Build 879) I get the following error message: 'processDPCommandsEx' API (ERR_WIS_30270)
This error message is already known within the usage of WebIntelligence when it comes to
multiple universe (which I'm not using, I just have a single source universe to a SQL-Server)
WebIntelligence Cache (therefore I have disabled 'Enable Real-time Cache' within the WebIntelligenceProcessingServer in the CMC)
System:
BOE-System: 4.1 SP2 Patch4
DB: SQL Server 2008R
When choosing few columns within a table in the universe to analyze, there is no problem showing up in Lumira, but in case of choosing all columns in one table, I get the error message. (Connecting the same universe to WebI doesn't give any problems).
Hopefully you can help me out with some ideas. I have attached the Tracelog file.

Could you give us an indication of the record size you are trying to import? i.e. How many Columns x Rows are we trying to deal with here?
Another checkpoint is the webi processing server on the biplatform - have you up-sized the "Maximum Character Stream Size (MB)" as described in this blog ? A forray into Lumira SP12 - new features and findings
Going back to your original post, no, the errors you describe are not 'normal' when using multisource, and should not be expected. there must be a fundamental issue elsewhere..
Have you seen this post? Crashing WEBI 4.1SP2FP3 I suspect you've got a faulty WPS crashing on you. (possibly due to corrupt service, or out of mem due size of data fetch)

I am facing a wierd issue while opening/refreshing/broadcasting a webi report.
The error message scrnshot:
This error is not throughout the reports, but for specific reports only, when checked the Bex query definition it works fine, but gives error for Webi reports.
Recently we had upgrade of BO 4.0 SP7 patch 9.
The reports are directly built on Bex queries, Bex queries contains simple Structures and few CKF's.
Would be thankful for any help recieved in resolving the above issue.

Scenario 1:
Error occurs when try to refresh a migrated Web Intelligence report in InfoView, after entering a date or dates for prompts.
Suggested Solution:
Modify problematic report in Webi.
Change the prompt definition to be a constant, run the report in Webi, and save it.
Change the prompt definition back to prompt with required date definition. Make sure you are using the correct date format! (The report prompt should tell you what the format is supposed to be.) Re-run the report in Webi, and save it.
Re-open the report in InfoView and refresh.
Scenario 2: Error occurs when trying to edit the properties of a Webi report containing merged dimensions.
Suggested Solution:
Remove the merged dimensions and then re-establish them.
Scenario 3: Error occurs when the InfoView report has been open and idle for a long time.
Suggested Solution:
This error can be an indication of a time-out, based on the server’s settings. Make sure you save your work often. You will need to close and re-open the report when you get this error, and you may have lost any unsaved changes.

Error while refreshing a report using local csv file

Hi,
I'm using BI 4.1 SP02.
While using Rich client, I've created a report with some merged queries, while one of the queries is a local CSV file - saved on AD in some server, and not on the repository inside BO.
While trying to refresh the report with the Rich client, it all went great.
Now, while using BI Launchpad java based app, I can't refresh the report - I get the following error:
"An Internal error occurred while calling 'processDPCommandsEx' API. (Error: ERR_WIS_30270) (WIS 30270)"
Should I be able to refresh a report without the Rich if it contains a local file (which is possible to EDIT only with rich) ?
If so, then did someone ran into this error?

First of all, thanks for both of the replies.
Second,
my problem is unlikely have to do something with permissions from one reasons -
when the report is using XLS\XLSX on same folder(with same name prefix) - the report is running without any problem.
Only problem is while refreshing without Rich while the source is network CSV file.
Any suggestions?

Hello,
The error that you mention is a generic one so can't tell much about it...
- Which version of BI4 are you using? (FP installed)
- Are all your reports impacted? If not, has this report a particularity compared to the ones which are fine? (migrated, specific datasource,...)
- Did it use to work before?
- Are you able to refresh the report in infoview (without using scheduling)

And this class is defined in InDesign VB Script DOM.

Hiding object in UNX universe

Hi, We are using BI 4 SP7.
We have recently converted UNV universe to UNX universe. There are some hidden objects in UNV that are used in reports it is fine with UNV.
After converting UNV to UNX, those reports are failing because of the hidden objects. If we un-hide them then report is working fine. So there seems to be change in behavior of UNV and UNX.
Our universe will be used by others to create ad-hoc/custom reports. We don't want to have these objects to be visible to those report creators. Is there a way to hide some objects but still use in reports.

Hi, I have tried it.
I created a business security profile and denied access to specific objects for a user.
Objects are restricted to that user in Query panel, this is fine. But that user is not able to access these objects in the standard reports. Below error is thrown when i tried to refresh the report.

Is there a way to enable access to objects for all users in reports but not Query panel ?
I added tried by adding 'ALL OBJECT' access in Display Data tab but it did not change anything.

Combined Prompt Crashes WebI Report

Hi,
We are on BO 4.1 SP2 Patch 1.
I have a WebI report that has only one query. In that query I have three prompts, I combined two of them with exact same text, same parameter ( e.g Keep last values selected, do not show list of value...etc.).
Now I refresh the report, everything is okay. I select values for two prompts and refresh goes well. Then I refresh again, select a different value for the combined prompt. Refresh, then get error message saying
"An internal error occurred while calling 'processDPCommandsEx' API. (Error: ERR_WIS_30270)(WIS 30270)"
I close the window. Hit refresh button again, now I see the prompts window with three prompts instead of two.
It seems combined prompt is not working and makes the report crash. I wonder if it's a product defect? Anyone came across this situation before? Your suggestion is appreciated.

You are right. Two prompts are with different LOV's.
Now I separate them to two different prompts but I still see the error message "An internal error occurred while calling 'processDPCommandsEx' API. (Error: ERR_WIS_30270)(WIS 30270)".
Is it possible that this report has been corrupted hence after separating prompts doesn't do the trick?

WEBI working in Rich Client but giving error opendocument' api. (error err_wis_30270) in launch pad

Hi,
I transported webi documents + universe from a development server (BI 4.1. SP2) to a test server (same release). I can open the documents with the WEBI rich client, but I am unable to open them with the launch pad (error ...opendocument' api. (error err_wis_30270)).
Does anyone have a clue where there could be a difference in the settings that cause this behaviour?

I just installed BI 4.0 with SP01 Patch 04 on 2 different environments.
I tried to test the eFashion universe and some of the reports, but I am getting this error on the Interactive Analysis Web even when I tried to create very simple eFashion Universe. Connecting test is working on both servers, same problem in both servers. Please let me know??

ebi errors after installing SP01 Patch 4

I installed SAP BI 4.0 on Windows with Tomcat
I tried to create the simplest eFashion universe, make the simplest Webi report from it and all work fine.
I decided to go a head and install the latest patch SP01 Patch 04. After installation I could not get any Webi report to work. I drag and drop my objects and once I hit Refresh (first time) I get this error (when I hit Refresh second time I get the next error)

I would recommend you use our Knowledge Base search on SMP - link here: http://service.sap.com/xsearch
.. and search for terms : webi 'getBlob' API
Also, some information about your Product version and Patch level is requiered.
Also, any explanation of workflow -
does it only happen when opening report?
are you using OpenDoc hyperlink navigation?
Moving between report tabs?
Are many Schedules running concurrently at that time ?

Problem with extract huge data in WEBI (Errors:WIO 30280 and ERR_WIS_30270)

Hi gurus, need your help.
When we run the query for the report we get an error in Web Intellegence .
This error may be two types. And their rotation occurs randomly.
First error: There is no memory available. Please close document to free memory (WIO 30280)
Second error: An internal error occurred while calling the 'processDPCommands' API. (ERR_WIS_30270)
When we try reopen WEB Intelligence, or reloading servers or machine, we have no   any results and get error again.
I was try change different parametrs in universe designer for connection and universe, in central managment console for WEBI, but it's not solve problem
This query select data from huge table (4,7 million rows), and when I use limit for maximum rows in WEBI my report working correctly.
Is there any way to solve these problems associated with large data? What is invoke this problem when we try to get full data?
We use Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.1 version 12.4.0.966
Our system Windows Server R2 Enterprise 2008 SP1 (64-bit system), Processor Intel 2.67 GHz (2 processors), RAM 8 Gb.

here we are talking about XI3.1 which has the limitations inherited from the operating system. as this blog post explains with plenty of details.
In BI4.0 you can leverage larger datasets without any problems however you need to properly size and configure the services.

We get above mentioned error message at any point in WebI Rich Client.
DataSource: Teradata 12.0 (Local machine)
BO XI 3.1 Client installed on local machine
Universe (Secured connection)
WebI : desiging and creating in Standlone mode
WebI client version : 12.1.0.882
Many times above written error is thrown 2-3 times even when we click on OK button and lastly followed by new error message:-
Unable to get the first page of the current report - Web Intelligence will switch to structure view (WIJ 20003).
Flow: We create report based on locally saved universe. There are couple of scenarios for which error comes
1) After successfully saving the report, reopen and refresh causes this error (1st error and 2nd)
2) Droping a properly written variable on measure column, if done Ctrl + Z, report works sometimes (both or 2nd error message)
3) Draging out the mesaure or dimension from report (only 2nd error)
Report is simple and no other stuff except the cross tab table
Even if we start with simply dropping the dimension and measures on report, 2nd error comes at any time.
What we noticed is that if we do all desiging in structure mode and then run instead of in result mode, reports works for more time.

ERR_WIS_30270 ..when calling a Webi Report ..

Hello,
after having installed Webi Clients Tools in XI 3.1 SP2 Version on WIN XP. Every time i try to open a webi Report with the rich Client i get following Error: openDocumentMDP-API (Error: ERR_WIS_30270)
I reinstalled Client Tools XI 3.1 and SP2 (without success)
BOE Version is 12.2.0.290
Client also 12.2.0.290

This error might due to various reasons , may be you can try searching for SAP notes with this error code ,

Appreciate your prompt response.
I found a simple solution for this.
This error message occurs when the TOMCAT server memory exceeds more than 1.3 gb. Hence, restart the TOMCAT server would resolve this issue.
Here are the steps in detail.
1. Log into each server through either citrix, remote desktop or mstsc from run command.
2. Click on task Manager.
3. Click on process, if you find TOMCAT memory is more than 1.3 gb, come back to CCM and stop tomcat server.
4. Wait for 20 seconds and then start tomcat server. Check all the remaining servers and do the same
This resolved the issue.
