LV software written in V5.0, need to open in V9.0

I want to open a program with our newly purchased Labview 9.0.   I received an error stating that the VI's were created in too old of a version of Labview (5.0.1) and cannot be converted to version 9.0.
Is there any way around this?   Do I need 1 or more intermediate versions of Labview?

You're only going to need 1 intermediate version. You can open it and save it in any version of LabVIEW from 6.0.x to 8.2.x.  And here is a handy table that shows all of the possibilities. Table
