LV2012 Out of Memory Bug when Clearing Compiled Object Cache

Here is some LV2012 weird behaviour when clearing the compiled cache and having a project with source code separated from the binaries.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open a VI in a fairly large LV project
2. With the VI open, clear the compiled cache:
3. Close the VI.
4. Open the VI
5. Watch the broken arrow and the LV Out of Memory bogus.

Roger,
i tracked down the issue to "ExecutionBenchmark1.lvclass:Load Core.vi" and "ExecutionBenchmark2.lvclass:Load Core.vi". If removing both VIs from the main, it is compilable.
Since those VIs have their blockdiagram removed, they have to include their compilation in order to be executable. I expect this to be the source of the issue.
Can you please check if using the default VI "Load Core" for both classes work as long as LV is able to recompile those while creating the object file for the main?
thanks,
Norbert
Yep, still reproducible on my 32 bit Windows 7 home machine. Attached is the fixed code.
Also, my suspicion was right. If you try to save a project in a out of memory condition, the saved project will always display an out of memory error due to a missing block diagram.

  • Out of memory issue when executing wlappc ant task

    I am using weblogic 8.1 sp1 and doing a compilation for a little bit large EAR file using ant task. But it always throws out of memory error when the wlappc invoked the compiler to compile the jsp files.
    According to BEA's documentation<CR104610>, I put the runtimeflags with "-J-ms256m -J-mx512m" option into the wlappc tag and Ant seems recognizing this option but it didn't work. I tried every possible memory size to get rid of this problem, but the process still failed with the error message:
    The system is out of resources.
    Consult the following stack trace for details.
    java.lang.OutOfMemoryError
    - with nested exception:
    [Compilation errors : ]
    My computer has 1G memory, so it shouldn't be the hardware problem.
    Does anyone have an idea on this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jacky

    Hi,
    Ant seems to use its own JVM and thus in the javac options during runtime,try specifying ANT java options for setting the memory parameters.
    ANT options would be memoryInitialSize and memoryMaximumSize.
    http://ant.apache.org/manual/index.html
    Hope this helps.

  • Out of Memory Error when Saving SequenceFile generated using API

    I am currently developing an application that creates a SequenceFile using .NET 4.0, C# (2010), Windows 7 Pro x64, Dual Core 2.5 GHz, 3.0Gb Memory.  Using the API EngineClass, I create a complete SequenceFile based on user/file inputs and then save it to disk.  When I'm done, I save using SequenceFile.Save() and then release using ReleaseSequenceFileEx().
    For smaller files, there is no problem.  For larger files, I sporadically get the following error:
    System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0xFFFFBD98): Out of memory.
    When the file does save, it is ~2.8Mb.  Breaking the file up is not an option.  I am not looping, this is one shot.  I've tried shutting down VS2010 and restarting the computer.  It is still inconsistent on saving.
    I also had to set the Embed Interop Types to False per guidance from NI.  They said that it is unstable in 4.0.
    Questions
    1. Is there a file limit size to the Save() API function?
    2. Is there a workaround to using the Save()?
    Best Regards
    Solved!

    I am using C#.NET.  I called them in my save method immediately prior to the actual test save sequence.
    GC.Collect();
    GC.WaitForPendingFinalizers();
    GC.Collect();
    GC.WaitForPendingFinalizers();
    try
           CurrentSequenceFile.Save(outputPath);
           catch (Exceptionerror)
           FireLogEvent(ParserLogType.Parsing_Error, string.Format("{0}", error));
    Factory.TSEngine.ReleaseSequenceFileEx(CurrentSequenceFile, ReleaseSeqFileOptions.ReleaseSeqFile_UnloadFile);

  • Indesign cs5 'out of memory' error when using preflight

    I have been regulary getting an 'out of memory' error when i choose to use my bespoke preflight profile.
    I have 4gig of ram and run Indesign CS5 on OS 10.6.8.
    Does anyone know a work around?
    As soon as I select from the basic default profile, i get the beach ball from hell for 10mins, then it kindly lets me know that I am out of memory, sends a crash report to Adobe and then asks if I want to relauch. I'm stuck in a vicious circle. I must of sent my 4th crash report now and no feedback from anyone at Adobe.

    I have replaced my preferences, but still the problem persists. I have tried switching my view from typical display to fast display before i selected a profile. I thought this may give me the extra memory I needed to avoid the enevitable crash. I learnt that 2 files were indeed rgb instead of cmyk before it crashed again. So I switched them to cmyk and tried again, selected my bespoke profile, but yet again it crashed. I think the problem lies with the file, not Indesign, as i have tried the same profile on a different file and the program doesn't crash and runs as it should. So if in future I need to use said crashing file again, firstly i will need to try Peter's isolate fix method. Otherwise i'll never be able to progress to successful a pdf.

  • "Out of memory" message when rendering - MP4 files imported

    I imported MP4 files into FCP7 and I get an "out of memory" message when I try to render a sequence. I don't think it's the size of the file because I often work with much larger files without any problem. I even saved the MP4 to MOV files with QT and imported those, and still it gives me the  "out of memory" message. VERY ANNOYING.  There seems to be something in those original MP4 files that FCP doesn't like. Any idea how to get around this?

    Not to be rude or insult intelligence, but What format is the timeline in. Not the video files (It's great that you put them to PR422, but if your timeline's native format is something other than PR422, Final cut is going to try to render files in that format... )
    And Again please define "Huge"... How big of a hard drive are you using, and how much RAM space do you have? I checked your profile for any further information, but found none. these are key things to helping figure out your problem.

    My final cut studio keeps giving me this error out of memory message when ever i try to render a piece of footage and its closing unexpected. Does anybody know the reason?

    I had this problem about 2 months ago and, as others have suggested in this thread, eventually traed it backed to some stills I had scanned and brought into the project.  Accidentally I had changed the scanner settings, with the result that a couple of skills were well beyond 1980 x 1020 pixels.  I resampled the stills and everything was fine again.  Hope this might help.

  • Out of memory error when sending messages

    Hello!
    I have OS X 10.4.10 and I have an email account setup (IMAP)in mail.
    Lately when I go to send a message, I get an "Out of Memory" error that it says is coming from the mail server, but I know for a fact that it's not a server issue (mail account works on a PC fine). If I try to send it again it goes through just fine.
    Any ideas?

    You are building an HTML table with 1500 rows? That is definitely a lot. And I assume you are also putting some styling on that table...
    These days programmers resource to [url en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AJAX]AJAX techniques for things like that.
    You can, for example, send the table data as a list of comma separated values, and then use Javascript on the browser to create a partial table with options to browse through the different pages of data.
    If you need to show all that data in one single page, you can still try sending just the data as CSV or XML and then building the table on the browser via a Javascript loop. Use CSS for the styling so you don't overload the HTML code with styling information.

    Hi,
    I have a bit of a problem. I?m trying to generate
    quite a large JSP file (a table with about 1500
    rows). The problem is that I get an out of memory
    error when the JSP is being generated. And it is
    definitely that the JSP is too large, or rather the
    HTML being generated from it. Now I was under the
    impression that the JSP page was flush now and again,
    but I tried to set all the different flush options
    and I have also tried to manually flush the page.
    Nothing of this made any difference except for
    displaying a white page instead of an error page
    since the header was already sent. Now this suggests
    to me that the page is being cached internally by the
    server and then sent to the client. So is there
    anything I can do about this?

  • "Out of memory" error when compiling loki-like templates w/Typelists

    Using Forte C++ 5.3 with the latest [2002/03/20] patches, attempts to compile a loki-like Functor template [download at www.awl.com/cseng/titles/0-201-70431-5 or see "Modern C++ Design" by A. • Out of memory error when encoding hd video

    I've been using various versions of premiere elements over the past few years. It's been mostly a torturous process. I tried sony vegas but didn't like it. about 3 months ago i got a Rain Venturi, Intel xeon 3.07 Ghz, windows 7 pro 64 bit, and upgraded the memory to 24gb. things got better but Premiere 9 was still crashing!! especially when adding titles.  I changed the video card to a quadro 4000 and for the first time elements worked. It was actually enjoyable editing!  My movies are hd about 8-14 min. in length some for saving to my computer. ocasionally i may throw one up on you-tube. they have about 25-30 cuts, some transitions and titles. Last week, while saving a video it started out fine until it get down to 99% complete - 5 sec. remaining and it would hang there for an hour or two until done.  Today I tried saving a video and I keep getting "Windows media is out of memory. The operation failed" message. I tried restarting Premiere and changing the keyframe interval to 2 sec, but no change.  Anyone know what is going on here? How could I be out of memory? I read about out of memory messages in the lightroom forum and it being a bug in the software- is that what's happening here? Last month it worked fine now it doesn't?  Am I better off with premiere pro?  I'm just about fed up with elements and am thinking of trying edius neo3? Thank you for reading...

    Bill and Steve- first off thank you both for taking the time to reply to my problem.  Steve I will now render on a regular basis. Bill what you sent me was very informative and I'll admit there were portions of it that i didn't understand and need to look closer but I did do some disk ceanups etc. I tried many different things trying to figure out what was going on here. It just didn't make any sense that I would be out of memory. And things were working fine up till a few days ago.  Anyway, there was some multiple titles on video tracks 2 and 3 that I though might be causing the hang-ups so I eliminated that and tried to save again.
    I walked away figuring it would take several hours to save this 14 min. video. When I returned I had a new error message- "If writing to a remote page file location make sure the target location is available"  What!  I checked and sure enough the drive I was saving to was dead ( an external USB2 disk drive, 7200 rpm about 60% free)  Anyway I plugged in a new lacie USB3 drive and the video rendered and saved ( faster then ever!) Tried saving another video and everything was smooth again and fast! So it seems that somehow this drive was failing or slowing down over the last few days?? and that was causing the problem? (but the error message - "windows media is out of memory" was deceiving).  Now that I think about it maybe the disk cleanup I performed over the weekend pushed the drive over the edge? anyway what a relief - but of course I didn't back the drive up on a regular basis so who knows what I lost! so what I learned is keep the disks clean and back-up often.   Thanks again.

  • Why i'm getting out of memory exception when trying to comparing two Lists ?

    First this is a paint event.
    In the paint event i draw a rectangle and then adding the pixels coordinates inside the rectangle area to a List:
    private void pictureBox1_Paint(object sender, PaintEventArgs e)
    if (cloudPoints != null)
    if (DrawIt)
    e.Graphics.DrawRectangle(pen, rect);
    pointsAffected = cloudPoints.Where(pt => rect.Contains(pt));
    CloudEnteringAlert.pointtocolorinrectangle = pointsAffected.ToList();//cloudPoints;
    Bitmap bmp = new Bitmap(pictureBox1.Width, pictureBox1.Height, PixelFormat.Format32bppArgb);
    CloudEnteringAlert.Paint(e.Graphics, 1, 200, bmp);
    I'm drawing a rectangle thats the rect(Rectangle) variable and assigning to pointsAffected List only the pixels coordinates that are inside the rect area ! cloudPoints contain all the pixels coordinates all over the image !!! but pointsAffected contain only
    the coordinates of pixels inside the rectangle area.
    Then the mouse up event:
    private void pictureBox1_MouseUp(object sender, MouseEventArgs e)
    StreamWriter w = new StreamWriter(@"c:\diff\diff.txt");
    pixelscoordinatesinrectangle = new List<Point>();
    pixelscoordinatesinrectangle = pointsAffected.ToList();
    DrawIt = false;
    for (int i = 0; i < trackBar1FileInfo.Length; i++)
    DrawIt = true;
    trackBar1.Value = i;
    LoadPictureAt(trackBar1.Value, sender);
    pictureBox1.Load(trackBar1FileInfo[i].FullName);
    ConvertedBmp = ConvertTo24(trackBar1FileInfo[trackBar1.Value].FullName);
    ConvertedBmp.Save(ConvertedBmpDir + "\\ConvertedBmp.bmp");
    mymem = ToStream(ConvertedBmp, ImageFormat.Bmp);
    backTexture = TextureLoader.FromStream(D3Ddev, mymem);
    scannedCloudsTexture = new Texture(D3Ddev, 512, 512, 1, Usage.Dynamic, Format.A8R8G8B8, Pool.Default);
    Button1Code();
    pictureBox1.Refresh();
    newpixelscoordinates = new List<Point>();
    newpixelscoordinates = pointsAffected.ToList();
    if (pixelscoordinatesinrectangle != null && newpixelscoordinates != null)
    IEnumerable<Point> differenceQuery =
    pixelscoordinatesinrectangle.Except(newpixelscoordinates);
    // Execute the query.
    foreach (Point s in differenceQuery)
    w.WriteLine("The following points are not the same" + s);
    else
    am1 = pixelscoordinatesinrectangle.Count;
    am2 = newpixelscoordinates.Count;
    //MessageBox.Show(pixelscoordinatesinrectangle.Count.ToString());
    w.Close();
    Once i draw the rectangle when finish drawing it i'm creating a new List instance and store the pixels in the rectangle area in the pixelscoordinatesinrectangle List.
    Then i loop over trackBar1FileInfo that contains for example 5000 images files names from the hard disk.
    This is the problem part:
    pictureBox1.Refresh();
    newpixelscoordinates = new List<Point>();
    newpixelscoordinates = pointsAffected.ToList();
    if (pixelscoordinatesinrectangle != null && newpixelscoordinates != null)
    IEnumerable<Point> differenceQuery =
    pixelscoordinatesinrectangle.Except(newpixelscoordinates);
    // Execute the query.
    foreach (Point s in differenceQuery)
    w.WriteLine("The following points are not the same" + s);
    else
    am1 = pixelscoordinatesinrectangle.Count;
    am2 = newpixelscoordinates.Count;
    I'm doing refresh for the pictureBox1 so it will go one each image to the paint event and will create a new List pointsAffected will have each time a different pixels coordinates.
    So newpixelscoordinates should be with new pixels coordinates each loop itertion.
    Then i'm comparing both Lists newpixelscoordinates and pixelscoordinatesinrectangle for a different items.
    And write those who are not the same to a text file.
    So i'm getting a very large text file with many pixels coordinates that are not the same in both Lists.
    The problems are:
    1. Does the comparison i'm doing is right ? I want to compare one list index against other listi ndex.
       For example in the List newpixelscoordinates in index 0 if i have x = 233 y = 23 and in the List pixelscoordinatesinrectangle in index 0 there is x = 1 y = 100 then write this as not the same to the text file.
      What i want to do is to check the whole List items against the other List items and if some of the items are not the same write this items to the text file.
    Next itertion new image new Lists with new pixels coordinates do the same comparison.
    The List pixelscoordinatesinrectangle is not changing it's storing the first pixels coordinates when i drawed the rectangle first time. Only the List newpixelscoordinates change each time, Should change each itertion.
    2. The exception i'm getting is on the line:
    newpixelscoordinates = new List<Point>();
    I added this line since i thought maybe i didn't clear it each time but it didn't help.
    Before adding this line the exception was on the line:
    newpixelscoordinates = pointsAffected.ToList();
    The exception is: OutOfMemoryException: Out of memory
    System.OutOfMemoryException was unhandled

    I think you could use “Object.Equals” and the link below might be useful to you:

    >> OutOfMemoryException: Out of memory
    This error is very common, and when there is not enough memory to continue the execution of a program, it would be thrown.
    It would be helpful if you could provide us a simple code to reproduce your issue.
    Best Regards,
    Edward

  • Out of memory message when rendering

    I have read much about this issue in other posts, but havn't been able to solve my problem.
    when rendering a sequence of large still in DVC Pro 1080i, about a 20% of it rendered, then the message "out of memory" comes up.
    The rendered part looks sweet.
    I have been able to render about another 20%, completing about 40% of the project rendered after the initial message, then the "out of memory" pop up comes up again, and after that, i will try to render more, the render % bar comes up, then just gives up and doesn't render anything.
    All of my scratch disks are set to a 2TB external sata drive with tons of room.
    I've deleted all of the render files in the Tools>Render Manager and that just made me re-render everything again, to come back to the same spot of "out of memory" at around 40% again.
    Should i try bumping up the still cache up to like 50% from a current 10%?
    Im working with all stills, maybe i should bump it up to 100%?
    Open to suggestions. . .

    O.k.
    I understand now that FCP can only use up to 4 GB of RAM. Sooo. . . if rendering large still images with a lot of filters: de-interlace, flicker filter, broadcast safe, I could see why you wouldn't be able to render a long sequence of these big stills. I believe this is why i was getting the stopping of rending and the "out of memory" message. So i once again cleared my renders in the Render Manager. I closed the projected and restarted.
    I began to try and render just sections of the sequence, thinking that this couldn't possibly max out the maximum RAM used by FCP. Though this didn't work.
    With just a small section of the sequence selected, it again recieved the "not enough memory" message, and FCP wouldn't render anything else after making another small selction of the clips.
    Why is it not possible for me to render small sections at a time?
    Is editing large stills in HD not possible in FCP for the reason of not being able to use enough RAM?
    Please, any advice or imformation on this will help me figure out what application i should use, or if there is a way to do this in FCP for editing still images with Heavily panned and zooms for a HiDef sequence, thanks
    -PB
