LVLM on EV3, converting old *.vi on NXT to new *.vi on EV3

Hi all
Thanks to NI, A.Pena and his team for the new EV3-Module!
The installation of the module was successful. The first tests where rather surprising but worked.
Problem: I wanted to compile some of my old *.vi  on NXT  to the EV3-Brick, what failed with error-messages about every programmed function.
I was only successful by rewriting the whole program. Is there a conversion-tool to translate *.vi on NXT to *.vi on EV3?
Thanks    Andi Pi

I would think that VIs would automatically re-compile, so I don't think that would be causing any error messages. The Mass Compile tool is only available in the regular LabVIEW environment. If you are using the LabVIEW for LEGO MINDSTORMS Environment, switch to the LabVIEW environment from Tools>>Choose Environment...
As far as I know Base Package refers to a LabVIEW installation which offers more limited features than the Full or Professional version. According to the NI online documentation, the base package is sufficient to use Mass Compile.

  • Need help in converting old LabVIEW instrument drivers to new version.

    Hello,
    I just rented a Tektronix DG2020A data generator. I did not find any instrument drivers for the DG2020A on the Instrument Driver Network, although there are drivers for DG2040 that could be used to some extent. With the instrument, I also received a floppy with example programs. This does include LabVIEW drivers for the DG2020A. However, when I tried to load the VIs, I received an error message that the VI version 3.1 is too old to be converted to 7.1. Can someone at NI help with the conversion? It would be very useful.
    Thanks.

    There is a driver available for the DG2020 on NI's site. Models supported are the DG2020, DG2030, and DG2040. Available in both 7.x and 8.x.

    Is there going to be a compatibility issue with the documents I've created on the PC? In other words, will I need to purchase Office for Mac or will iWork suffice?
    How complex are your documents? For most of my documents, I can use OpenOffice (free), iWork, or even MS Office for windows in a virtual environment to work with them. I have a couple documents that use some more complex features of Office, and they don't work very well with anything other than MS Office. They even have problems with different versions of MS office other than teh one they were create with.

    I use SuperDuper for making backup images of my MacOS system volume. This allows me to make a bootable clone drive so I can boot from an external backup in an emergency. It wasn't too expensive, about $20-30 when I bought it, but they even allow you to run a trial before you buy.

  • 10.2 crashes when I try to convert old libraries for use in the new software. Is there a workaround for this? Or will i have to continue using the previous version to complete older projects?

    Final Cut Pro X 10.2 crashes when I try to convert old libraries for use in the new software. Is there a workaround for this? Or will I have to continue using the previous version to complete older projects? the only foreseeable solution is to begin any new projects on 10.2 or importing footage on 10.2 and starting form scratch--which is something i definitely don't want to do or have time to do. ANY advice, thoughts, or opinions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
    Running 10.10.3 // MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013) // 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7 // 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

    Exactly the same problem with me.
    Some other threads advice to remove fonts, clean the caches, remove add ins but nothing works consistenty, for some it looks like it works, for me it failed.
    What I did not try yet, was to move the Render files out of the malicious library to trash.

  • Converting old analog video with maximum resoultion for archieving and eventual use in iMovie

    There seems to be a lot of information on converting old (amatuer) analog video media to a digital format, and which one is best to preserve the maximum amount of data.  I have already imported old VHS, analog 8, hi8, and dv into iMovie interations from iMovie 6 and forward.  The later versions seem to convert the older files to their own format, I suspect, with a loss of data.  I want to reimport the old media to create masters in the best digital format for eventual editing by iMovie 11, or whatever iMovie comes after that.
    I have the following formats:  VHS, super VHS, 8MM, Hi8, DV, and a memory card (from a camera which is not directly compatible with iMovie 11)
    I have the following equimpent:
    SONY dual deck VHS DVD.  This allows me to convert VHS directly to DVD.  I can later decode using Handbreak, and import etc. but it seems I would be losing quality.
    SONY Digital 8 handicam.  This will play analog tape and output a digital file.  I do not know the quality of the output.
    Canon VIXIA HFS100, HD camcorder.  This uses memory cards.  It is NOT compatible with iMovie 11, which I should have checked before I bought it.  I have played around with the memory card and have been able to import video but, I do not know the quality, and I've forgotten how I did it.
    MacBook Pro, about 4 years old, with a 2Ghz Intel core duo processor and 2GHz Ram.  This is obviously not state of the art.  I am willing to upgrade within the Mac family but I don't what to upgrade to for my purposes
    Canopus ADVC 110. This as DV out via a firewire port, and a DV in/out.  It also has svideo in, and composit in.
    I have the following software:
    iMovie 6, iMovie 9, and iMovie 11.  I am fairly comfortable with each version.
    Final Cut Express, circa 2006.  I would have to learn this.
    Handbreak.  I use this to rip the DVDs I made with SONY deck.  It outputs all kinds of video codecs but is obviously working with compressed imput files.  I don't know if I could get it to accept input directly from one of the cameras or the Canopus.
    Audacity.  I'm using this to combine audio tracks from various sources to add commentary to silent videos, which i would like to add as a voice over track to my iMovies
    Toast.  I think this can convert files of one video format to another in the process of copying.
    Thanks for any advice on any part of this question.
    Steve B

    Yes
    I found a program but am experiencing lots of trouble with it. I was hoping that others could give me a better suggestion.
    I've actually downloaded and installed ffmpeg but the problem I'm experiencing now is that the videos do not convert. The program starts to work and then three seconds later I get the dialog box that says everything has been converted but the file created is 0KB and of course will not open.
    Any ideas about what could be going wrong? I've attempted to convert the files to different formats and try converting different files as well. I still have the problem.

  • How to convert old Java Servlets to OSGi "Servlet" Bundles

    Hello I'm looking for some help/insight on the best way to convert some of our old Java Servlet code into new OSGi Bundles that can be accessed as servlets.  I'd like to be able to install the new bundles then access them on one of our CQ instance using something like "/servlet/servlet_name".
    So far I've been able to create a new bundle, and install it into CQ but I haven't been able to access the bundle at the servlet mapping URL that I would expect.  So far what I've found online has lead me to believe that I need to use the Felix Annotations to describe my servlet.
    @Component(immediate = true, metatype = true, label = "Servlet Name")
    @Service
    @Properties({
        @Property(name = Constants.SERVICE_DESCRIPTION, value = "Servlet Name"),
        @Property(name = "sling.servlet.methods", value={"GET"}),
        @Property(name = "sling.servlet.paths", value = "/servlet/my_servlet_mapping"),
        @Property(name = Constants.SERVICE_VENDOR, value = "VendorName")
    public class TellAFriend extends HttpServlet {...
    public void doGet(HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res) throws IOException, ServletException
    Once I have this installed, and running without an error in the logs for CQ I tried to go on my local instance to http://localhost:4502/servlet/my_servlet_mapping but I only get 404 Resource Not Found errors.  I've even gone to the Sling Resource Resolver and it doesn't resolve to anything either.
    Is there more than the Servlet Information need into the Annotations to convert "old" code into a new OSGi Servlet Mapped Bundle?

    I must be missing something else configuration wise since I created a new Servlet basically using the code you provided above.  I deployed it as part of the bundle that I'm trying to create.
    The bundle installs and stars fine but I still can't access the servlet.  Are there CRXDE based configurations that are requried too to configure Servlets.
    Here's my test servlet file.  I tried going to http://localhost:4502/servlet/TestCQServlet and just get the same 404 error I'm getting for the other 2 Servlets Java classes in my Bundle.
    import java.io.IOException;
    import javax.servlet.ServletException;
    import org.apache.felix.scr.annotations.sling.SlingServlet;
    import org.apache.sling.api.SlingHttpServletRequest;
    import org.apache.sling.api.SlingHttpServletResponse;
    import org.apache.sling.api.servlets.SlingSafeMethodsServlet;
    @SlingServlet(paths = "/servlet/TestCQServlet", methods = "GET")
    public class TestCQServlet extends SlingSafeMethodsServlet {
        // @Reference
        // private Repository repository;
        private static final long serialVersionUID = 6239754936223276983L;
        @Override
        protected void doGet(SlingHttpServletRequest request, SlingHttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException {
            response.setHeader("Content-Type", "application/json");
            response.getWriter().print("whatever");

    Want to convert old movie files to put in Itunes.
    What does "old movies" mean to you? File type, audio and/or video compression format(s)?
    Can't upgrade QT player preinstalled, so downloaded QT Player 7 and purchased QTPlayer 7 Pro registration code.  Can not get it to upgrade.
    Did you follow the instructions found here?
    If you have a fix, you can email me direct at [email protected]
    To which fix do you refer? Activatng QT 7 Pro or converting the files? Even with QT 7 Pro activated you may need to modify your QT codec component configuration depending on the file type and compression formats used to encode your "old movies." There may be many different problems here with each having one or more "fixes." Please try to be more specific regarding your questions. Converting a muxed VOB MPEG2/AC3 file would be very different different from converting an AVI DivX5/MP3 file depending on which application you are attempting to use.

  • Convert old Windows .prel files for use in V10 on a Mac

    Hello, I've just recently upgraded to v10 of Premiere Elements on a Mac, having used v3 extensively on a PC.

    No. The project files are not cross-platform.

    How do I convert old work done with iMovie HD 6 to view and work with in iMovie 11 on my new iMac?

    If you still have your iMovie 6 project, you can import it using FILE/IMPORT/iMovieHD Project.
    If all you have is the finished movie, you can FILE/IMPORT MOVIE.
    If your movie is in DV Stream format, it is advisable to convert it to QuickTime MOV container containing DV codec. Otherwise, the import will be chronological by the date and time the clip was shot, rather than in edited order.

  • Converting old VHS tapes through camcorder to IMovie???

    HELP! Have set up VHS and video with output cable to camcorder (Samsung Mini DV). Then firewire from camcorder to IMac and STILL NO LUCK with converting video! Thought I could convert old VHS tapes into IMovie this way, without having to use a Pinnacle Box, etc.....?
    Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. This has been an ongoing family "project" I have taken upon myself and refuse to take tape to a professional when I know my Mac and IMovie can do a BETTER job!

    Sue, that was not my point per se. I am not rich enough to own two video cameras. For others in my position a tried and tested analogue to digital converter seems a simpler answer, and a lot less work.

  • Convert old Logic 5.x PST Files on PC to FXP/FXB

    I'd like to know if and how I can convert old PST files in Logic 5.x on a PC to FXP/FXB (VST format) or simply make them usable in Logic Pro/Logic Studio where I've the same plugins in AudioUnit format. I'd even be willing to code my own utility if I had access to the PST file format from an older version of Logic. I really appreciate everyone's time!

    If I remember correctly, Logic OSX would load PST settings files correctly (and then be able to resave as .aupresets) but only for Logic's own plugs, not for third-party ones.
    You'll either have to work out your own solutions, or go back to the older versions and resave those settings in the plugins own native handling, if it has it's own patch formats....

  • Converting old dvd for imovie

    Six years ago I converted old home movies with a VHS/DVD converter.  I would now like to get them into imovie for editing but it couldn't import/read them. So, I downloaded Handbrake and converted the DVDs to .m4v and Imovie wouldn't import that either. I saw on some previous discussion that suggested changing the file extension to MOV, I did that and imovie will still not recognize them.
    When I try to just open it normal with quicktime/itunes I get the message that it is not in a format recognized.
    Are there some setting in Handbrake that I am missing when I originally convert?
    Thank you!

    You didn't say what format you converted them to, but if you don't feel like spending $55:
    You need to convert the files to DV which iMovie is designed to handle. For that you need mpegStreamclip:
    http://www.squared5.com/svideo/mpeg-streamclip-mac.html
    which is free, but you must also have the  Apple mpeg2 plugin :
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/mpeg2/
    (unless you are running Lion in which case see below))
    which is a mere $20.
    Another possibility is to use DVDxDV:
    http://www.dvdxdv.com/NewFolderLookSite/Products/DVDxDV.overview.htm
    which costs $25.
    For the benefit of others who may read this thread:
    Obviously the foregoing only applies to DVDs you have made yourself, or other home-made DVDs that have been given to you. It will NOT work on copy-protected commercial DVDs, which in any case would be illegal.
    If you are running Lion:
    From the MPEG Streamclip homepage
    The installer of the MPEG-2 Playback Component may refuse to install the component in Lion. Apple states the component is unnecessary in Lion, however MPEG Streamclip still needs it.
    To install the component in Lion, please download MPEG Streamclip 1.9.3b7 beta above; inside the disk image you will find the Utility MPEG2 Component Lion: use it to install the MPEG-2 Playback Component in Lion. The original installer's disk image (QuickTimeMPEG2.dmg) is required.
    The current versions of MPEG Streamclip cannot take advantage of the built-in MPEG-2 functionality of Lion. For MPEG-2 files you still need to install the QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component, which is not preinstalled in Lion. You don't have to install QuickTime 7.

  • Transferring and converting old ibook onto imac g5?

    I have an old clamshell ibook with system 9. I am trying to transfer everything into the newer imac and, while it seems to arrive intact, I keep getting "error -10660" and I can't open my older documents in the new computer. I presume it has to do with how old the programs are, but I'm not sure--I'm not even getting an option to open through another (updated) program.
    Any help?

    You might have to take it in to the apple store. I don't know if this is a similar situation and I was eavesdropping so I don't have all the details, but a woman had a clam shell given to her. She finally upgraded to something running 10.4.7 (don't know what) and the less experienced geniuses couldn't help her transfer her data. One of the more experienced geniuses had to transfer her data to an external hard drive that sounded like it had both OS 9 and 10 on it. The data was converted and then transferred to the new laptop.
