Lycamobile network off on my Blackberry Z10...

I just bought an unlocked blackberry z10 when I was in Nigeria about one week ago. Am an international student in UK.I bought a lycamobile sim but noticed that the mobile network is switched off despite several attempts at switching it on, resetting and rebooting.I tried other sim cards like vodafone, tmobile and O2 and all works perfectly well with the phone.Av contacted lycamobile customer care and they suggested I talk with blackberry customer care.Am very worried as I don't have a mobile contact number since I came to UK.Kindly help me with this please. Thanks

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please see this "sticky" post, along with the threads to which it links, for helpful information to guide you as you proceed:

Hopefully, this information will be of use to you.
From what you describe, your BB is unlocked and is compatible with several networks in the UK. But, for some reason, it won't work with this one network. Based on that information, I can only deduce that perhaps the SIM is bad...in which case a replacement might be needed. Or, perhaps your specific BB model is just not compatible with that one network...but you need to talk to them about that:

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain directly connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB, not a cradle):
With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
    Remove the battery
    Wait 15 minutes
    Insert the battery
Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.
It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:
Obtain an known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens
The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem. Note carefully please that "new" and "know good" are not necessarily the same things. While rare, a "new" battery certainly could be defective. Rather, the simplest (and least costly, btw) method to conduct this test is to find someone with an identical BB who has no issues...trade batteries and see what happens.
Good luck and let us know!

  • BlackBerry Z10 prompting to turn off itself! help!

Guys, I'm using a BlackBerry Z10 STL 100-2. There's a weird thing happened with my phone lately. sometimes, when I'm trying to lock the phone, my Device recognizes it like I'm holding the power button, and prompting to turn off, but I'm not, i just clicked the power button, i didn't hold the power button. Clearly, I'm not happy, especially when I'm in a meeting, my device always switched off. Help guys? what should i do?

Not sure. Could be a fault with the button. I don't know if moisture could cause it, but it's a thought.
There is at least one thread the same or similar. You will find detailed it, and any others, if you search. I don't remember any fix being posted.
If you think moisture could be a possibility, you need to remove the battery and dry the device.
Also take stock of any apps that customize functionality. Delete and test.
Lastly, you could reset to factory, or even do a clean OS install. And test. My suspicion is the button. An OS reinstall will rule out software.

Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync not working in Mobile Network – Blackberry Z10
I have set-up office email account in Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync this work only over office Wi-Fi not working outside of office Wi-Fi range. When I back to office all new e-mail loaded automatically. I have no problem with yahoo email setup in the same Z10 hand set work in both Wi-Fi and Mobile network. I have data plan with my carrier. Both emails were working in my previous Blackberry hand set Bold 9900. But with this New Z10 this become a problem
What could a the problem and I need help please

The URL you provided https://... does require SSL as it has a "s".
Have you tested the server OMA setup with a notebook or desktop (https://webmail.domain.com/OMA)?
You should receive a login prompt for username & password following by an Inbox listing of messages.
We used this step to verify server setup before configuring an iPhone. Lastly, we made certain that connectivity would work from outside or within our company by doing the following:
    1) created A record for webmail.domain.com to a public IP that route through the firewall on 443 to the Exchange server's private IP - this handles external traffice
    2) added an internal DNS record for webmail.domain.com to the private IP of the Exchange server.
This ensures that webmail.domain.com sync's to exchange from outside or from within the Enterprise.

  • My Blackberry Z10 restarting itself & also having Network Problems

    Hi Guys,
I have been using Blackberry Z10 for +/- 16 months now and I was happy with it from the beginning but as time goes on, it's frustrating me a lot as a result I sometimes question myself if I ever made the best decision for choosing "Blackberry" than other Cellphone Manufactures like Samsung or iPhone.
My Handset is running the latest OS Version: 10.2.1.3247 and I always update or upgrade it as soon as there's new release hoping that it will improve but that doesn't seem to help either. To add more salt on the wound, it keeps having Network problems during the night and weekends and I would much appreciate it if this problem could be resolved ASAP.
    Frustrated Customer,
    Z. Matu

OK, I was having a very similar problem, and I had never done a security wipe since owning the phone. So, doing a security wipe cleared the issue up for me 99%. Once in a great while I will still get a restart. But it's very, very infrequent.
I know it can be a pain doing a security wipe, because it basically resets your phone (without effecting the OS) as if new -- but that means removing all your contacts, messages etc. So, be sure to back it up if you try it.
Also, be sure your battery isn't loose in the housing. I also has this issue (and it caused random restarts) so cut a tiny piece of a business card and shimmed the battery on the side opposite the contacts. Shimming the battery would be a simple fix, if it worked.  So, maybe you'd want to try that first.

Fold a small piece of paper and wedge it along the top edge of the battery (the top, opposite the end with the contacts). See the image below where the red arrows are.

    HI @stesyls
If possible can you try the following steps?
Remove battery and SIM card from Z10
Start device, go to the APN screen (Settings > Network Connections > Mobile Network > APN)
Enter the APN provided by your carrier
Back out of this screen to save the change
Remove battery and insert SIM again
Test browsing while connected to the mobile network only

  • BlackBerry Z10 Cellular Services won't turn on.

Hi everybody! I'm new to this forum and I don't know much about Blackberries so I need help! I just got a Blackberry Z10 from my Dad and everything seems to work perfectly except that when I try to make calls it says "The cellular radio is currently off. Do you want to turn the cellular radio on so you can place your call?" I hit yes and it loads but doesn't do anything. I then try to go the Settings > Network Connections > Mobile Network and on there I have: Mobile Network OFF Data Services ON Data services while roaming PROMPT I turn the mobile network on but it loads for ages (I've been waiting for exactly 2 hours now). I checked and the device is unlocked and I even tried to contact the Costumer Service but they cannot help me. Please I need your words of wisdom! Should I just toss it in the garbage? I hope not

I think you have a bad SIM card (even if it does work in another device).
Get a SIM card swap from your mobile operator and TEST the card before leaving.

  • Blackberry z10 Wifi Connection problem

Just acquired Blackberry Z10, and transferred contacts, accounts from Curve 9300.
Can anybody please help with failure to reconnect to saved  wifi networks?
I have a blackberry z10 and have found that when Idiscoonect from home or work wifi (by leaving work /home) when I return to the wifi area  the phone does not reconnect unless I switch off/on wifi on phone.
    Phone is Z10 model STL100-2
    Software is 10.1.0.4181

There seems to be  at least a workaround for this problem.
Last week I sselected the "Hidden SSID" setting for my wifi accounts on my BB Z10
It has connected automatically to work & home networks since then.
    Suggest you try this.
Many thanks to all who have offered assistance.
