Lync 2013 for iPad & Windows Mobile Sign in Issue
Hi,
I hope someone can help with a very frustrating issue I'm having with Lync 2013 on iOS & Windows Mobile - it won't sign in with an error message saying 'We can't sign you in. Please check your account info and try again'
I know my account info is right as I use it to sign in to the desktop client when working remotely, and it also works fine on an Android client.
The Lync remote connectivity analyser passes all the tests, I can get to the xml file using https://lyncdiscover.domain.org/autodiscover/autodiscoverservice.svc/root from a laptop, but from the iPad it's just a blank screen.
I've tried using auto detect, and entering details manually, but still no luck. I'm completely stumped. I've trawled blogs, form posts etc, but nothing. HELP!!!
Some details - we have a FE server, and an Edge Server, both running Lync 2013 with latest updates. We use nGinX as the RP and that all seems to be fine. It just doesn't want to authenticate me (or anyone else).
See below part of log file from my iPad that shows an error on the FE server.

Hi,
Did the sip address name match with User Principle Name?
If not, when you enter the login information please also populate the Username filed using the format domainusername and test again.
Here is a blog may help you, it is for Lync server 2010 but similar for Lync server 2013:

What's quite strange opening https://lyncdiscover.domain.com/?sipuri=sip:[email protected] in normal browser (IE or Firefox) gives me:
<resource rel="root" href="https://lync1.domain.com/Autodiscover/AutodiscoverService.svc/root?originalDomain=domain.com">
<link rel="user" href="https://lync1.domain.com/Autodiscover/AutodiscoverService.svc/root/oauth/user?originalDomain=domain.com"/>
<link rel="xframe" href="https://lync1.domain.com/Autodiscover/XFrame/XFrame.html"/></resource>
which is correct by the look of it. Lync Connectivity Analyzer for Mobile Lync 2013 Client doesn't indicate any problems apart of inaccessible http://lyncdiscover.domain.com part (it's not redirected - we are using only https traffic):

Cannot share desktop - Lync 2013 server and Windows 8 (64-bit) client
Currently my new Lync server cannot share a desktop through a Lync 2013 client installed on a Windows 8 workstation. The client is patched up with the latest MS patches (much beyond the patch issues noted about a year ago, the patches in question do not
even show up as installed).
I get the same "An error occurred during the screen presentation" message. I do have a NVIDIA video cards on the workstations, but they too are patched up. The same systems have no issues sharing desktop screens in the Lync 2013 client on Windows
8 systems when they are connected to a Lync 2010 server.
I have no idea where to go from here. Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated.Did this issue happen to other Lync 2013 client?
As you mentioned that you can used the same Lync 2013 to sharing desktop screen when it connects Lync Server 2010 while you couldn’t share desktop screen when it connects to Lync Server 2013,
I think it is related with Lync Server.
Please check if you can find any errors on Lync Front End Server.
Check all Lync server services are all started.

Text for ipad,windows and android
Hi
I'll publish a folio for ipad , windows and android.
If I have understood correctly, Is the best way to create an iPad version first and use the same folio to the other platforms.
I have made a folio of 1024x768 and has 16pt for body text. PDF format.
The problem is that the text is ugly in Android and Windows versions.
What should I do to get the best deal on the windows and android versions?
Regards
AkeI have attached three screenshots.

Lync 2013 Windows Mobile 8 connection issues
Hi
I have setup an internal test Lync 2013 system to get sign off from management. I have installed all the roles on a single server. So far clients on PC's can sign in and so can iOS devices once I had turned on the internal web settings. However, we use Windows
Mobile 8 devices and I can't get any to connect. What ever I try I get a message saying that I need to check my network connection.
These devices are on the same internal network as the iOS devices. Is there anything special that needs to be done for Windows Mobile to work?
Thanks.2013-12-09 13:26:57.393 Lync[4560:4644] INFO UTILITIES CHttpConnection.cpp/293:Empty body set?

Hi
Sorry for the delay in replying. I have tried your suggestions and a Windows Mobile 8 device will still not connect. I have saved the log files and attached them. I can't see what the actual error is!
I have recreated my internal Root CA to include http urls in crl & cdp as this is mentioned as an issue, but this hasn't worked either.
Thanks. -
Lync 2013 with ipad clinet (lync 2013)
Hi All
I have deployed lync 2013 and installed only the JAN -14 updates over it, my setup is in split brain dns (same name internal & external) and I have added all lync discovery A record to point to the internal IP.my problem is ipad client 2010 is working
fine however ipad client 2013 is not able to connect at all, what I am missing here?
PS: I am using public certificate for the internal servers & Lync connectivity analer go green on every thing when I chose Lync Mobile 2013
please helpDo you have server autodetect turned on in both client versions? Are you signing into both version from the same type of network location (ie. internal WiFi). Does it work if you switch to a different WiFi location that would be external?
Also, you said before "I have added all lync discovery A record to point to the internal IP."
If you have lyncdiscover.<yourdomain> pointing to internal, but mobilty set to external, it won't work. Set lyncdiscover in your internal DNS zone to your external reverse proxy IP. -
Lync 2013 Office 365 - Can't Sign in
Hi,
Using Office 365 and Lync 2013.
Windows 7 64bit machine (New) Only built a couple of days ago.
I keep getting the following error
I have 2 machines next to eachother, one works perfect with Lync and signs in fine, the other does not and gets the erro above.
I also have another 3 newly built machines and they are having exactly the same issue.
When I get this message there is an Event as follows
The description for Event ID 0 from source MSOIDSVC.EXE cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.
The following information was included with the event:
InitializeSvcAPI failed with hr = 0x80048883
I can sign into Office 365 fine, and use all the funcationality.
I have tried the following
Reimage machine - No Success
Uninstall office 2013 - No Success
Removed By licence from Office 365 - No Success
Tried loggin in using the local admin account rather than Domain - No success
I have also tried installing the Microsoft Online Services Sign-in Assistant - No Success
As you can probably tell, im not having much success.
Any Ideas?Hi there,
It really sounds like network connectivity issues, like firewall or DNS.
Have you tried to connect the clients from another network?
Additionally, have you been trough this help document?
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/lync-help/troubleshooting-lync-online-sign-in-errors-administrators-HA102892879.aspx
There is also a KB with a lot of resources for troubleshooting Lync Online sign-in issues

Best of luck :)

Lync 2013 MX (on windows rt) will not connect to Lync 2010 enterprise server
Both internal and external (through edge) will not connect. I will put in the SIP address, try to connect and it will ask for the logon credentials (domain is different from SIP domain) A minute later it will state that it was unable to sign on. When I enable
logs I get a massive log file (~etl.bak) that is garbled and snooper will not read.
I have had no problem signing in users with Lync for the ipad, windows phone, or android devices. Does anyone know a way to troubleshoot this further?Make sure you use the following to log on
SIP Address : [email protected]
Account : Domain\user
- Belgian Unified Communications Community : http://www.pro-lync.be - MCM/MVP/MCT
Tried all the combinations, but I heard a rumor that the company has messed-up or incomplete DNS entries and won't fix it. On the Lync desktop versions I can work around this by using advanced connection settings (which don't exist on the WinRT/Store
app) to specify manual internal and external names.
Also tried entering sip.company.com and sipexternal.company.com in hosts file but that doesn't work either. that was suggested elsewhere as a fallback mechanism, but it doesn't seem to work when potentially invalid SRV entries already exist.
What I really need is for Microsoft to support the advanced connection settings, there's no other way around that.
Two questions:
1) Anyone know how to get access to the logging information which is enabled in the options of the Windows Store app? It's a long shot but maybe I can find somebody in this big company who will want to correct it.
2) Do we use the usual MS Connect to make bug/feature requests for the store apps too? For many years now a lot of products have been missing from there in favor of other feedback systems like User Voice (e.g. Windows Phone and Visual Studio). So you never
know exactly which is the right place to report such stuff nowadays (shame because Connect seemed like a universal solution at the start).

Thanks in advanceHi,
Did you solve the issue with the help of Edwin provided above?
Please try to download the latest version of Office 2013 from Microsoft Website and then install it to check if the issue happen again.
Please also go to your computer manufacturer’s website and update all driver packages for your computer, such as: Audio drivers, Bluetooth drivers, System chipset drivers, webcam drivers.

Hi,
We are not using Lync internally. But some of my users need to attend Lync 2013 meetings. We run a Windows 2008 R2 Terminal Services/XenApp environment. Users are not allowed to install applications.
In the past, I was able to install administratively a Lync 2010 attendee client.
How do I enable my users to attend a Lync 2013 meeting?
Thanks. This is not viable. I don't know which user is going to be attending Lync meetings from suppliers or customers ahead of time and have no contacts to request a test meeting. This is a loop. How does Microsoft expect sysadmins to support their products if
the client software is not easily available.
At this point if I have a user who needs this, I will only know about it after the meeting has failed. At that point the user is not very receptive to the idea of involving his contact in troubleshooting and setting up test meetings. It's even worse if it's
an executive.
Is there any way of pre-installing the pre-requisites for attending Lync 2013 meetings?
My only choice is to inform my user community that we have no way of supporting Lync and request that they use GotoMeeting or WebEx with their contacts who try to do a Lync meeting.
I am very disappointed in Microsoft's approach with Lync 2013.
Thanks for your time. -

Lync 2013 Authenticating with Windows Account Every Minute
Seeing a strange issue with Lync 2013 client logging into my Windows Account about every 1-2 minutes. We are using Lync Server 2013 (on-premise) so it makes no sense that it is logging into and authenticating against Windows Account. This was causing major
issues as my Windows Account password was different than my company domain login. This was causing Lync to use the "wrong" password to login into Windows Account. I changed the passwords to match and now still seeing Lync logging in constantly
into Windows Account.
This is adding up to a LOT of data traffic. Lync should NOT be authenticating every 1-2 minutes into my Windows (Live) Account. Help please!Hi,
Did the issue happen only for you or for multiple users?
Please exist Lync client, delete user profile on local computer with the following path, then restart Lync client:
%UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync

Lync 2013 app in windows phone 8 store
I have Nokia lumia 920. I have downloaded Lync 2013 app in it.
It asks for lync server login credentials during start up. Now
1. Do we need to have Lync server setup? (licenced or free version ?)
2. I will share my Windows phone screen to other party who is on conferencing. How can they see my screen? Is there any desktop version of lync available?1. Yes you do need a Lync Server set up to use the Lync Phone App
2. You can see on the Lync store page that you can share video from your camera and also view other's shared desktops. There is indeed a desktop version of Lync. There is even a Windows 8 Store App.

Lync 2013 vdi RDS windows 2008R2
Hi, I have installed VDI on win2008R2 server with RDS make all configuration and it Works fine.
I have Win7 RDP installed VDI and updateted all RDP. I have USB WEBCAM and I configured remoteFx to use USB webcam and it Works with Win2008R2 RDS audio and Video.
I have Win 8.1 only installed VDI and change settings in RDP with WEBCAM internal and it Works.
I have another win 8.1 and installed VDI driver OS=64bit but VDI driver=32bit - local office = 32bit. I have configuret RemoteFX in local Group Polices. In RDP I can see USB internal WEBCAM -
Then I connect RDP I get Audio but not any Video.
I have tried to remove RemoteFX config in Local GRP, no effect.
Is there a conflict with Office 2010/office 2013 Lync and DVI or VDI driver should be 64Bit or ??,
I can connect from diffrent machines to same USER and that Works, but not from One machine.
Please help meHi ERAVN,
If you are using Remote Desktop Services, the Lync VDI plug-in bitness (that is, whether the application is 32-bit or 64-bit) must match the local computer’s operating system bitness. The bitness
of the operating system on the local computer and the operating system on the virtual machine do not need to match.
For more details, please refer to the following articles.

May I get a Firefox version also for my Windows Mobile 6 ?
I have an older but well working smartphone whose OS is Windows Mobile 6.1
I'd like to know if there is any old or new Firefox version that I can use with that smartphone.
If so, I'd be glad to receive the related link.
Thank you in advance

Firefox has stopped development for Windows Mobile indefinitely. Thank you to our contributors for their continued support and feedback. The last release for Windows Mobile was 1.1 alpha 1 (download). We have stopped developing for Microsoft's mobile platform because Windows Phone 7 no longer allows developers to build C++ applications like Firefox, and Microsoft's new policies ban open-source software like Firefox from the Windows Phone Marketplace.
