It seems forest preparation didn't work.
Could you try to prepare the forest from the lync management shell instead of the Deployment wizard ?
you can do that by opening the lync management shell and running the following command
enable-CsAdForest detailed command information can be found here

  • Lync 2013 installation problem - dll file missing

    Hi,
I've encountered this problem with Lync 2013 installation on 2 different computers.
    Error message:
    "perfboost.exe - System Error
The program can't start because appvisvsubsystems32.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."
The first time i got this error was while installing Lync 2013 (32-bit ver.) for a user with an E1 Office 365 plan and an Office 2013 Home and Business suite installed (32-bit version) on a 64-bit Win 7 Pro machine. The installation completed despite the
error message but Lync could not connect to the server saying that "the server for
domain.eu cannot be found". I tried the manual configuration with the same result. I'm confident it's not a DNS problem as other users within the same domain are using Lync 2013 with no connectivity issues.
The second time I got the error was when installing Lync 2013 on a new machine, also with Office 2013 H&B 32-bit and Lync 2013 32-bit downloaded from the user's Office 365 account (also plan E1). The installation also completed but I had no problems
logging the user in (it's another user, same domain)
Anyone has a clue about this? Should I install the 64-bit Lync version instead? Would it conflict with the 32-bit Office 2013?
    Thanks.
    Luka

    Hi Teklace,

  • Lync 2013 installation and problems

I have gone through the entire setup and have a somewhat working installation. Now my problem is that when I sign in two users to the Lync 2013 Basic, they log in fine but it doesn't show any users online.
when I add a contact from my organization, it does match any of the test users that I have setup
Not sure what to check to find out where the issue is

When you say they log in fine, but it doesn't show any users online, do the two Lync basic users see each other's presence?
What do you see when you add a contact from your organization?  Are the test users you created not in the list?  For this I'd suggest running update-csaddressbook from PowerShell on the Lync server, wait 5 minutes, exit Lync (not just sign out,
make sure you've fully exited) and trash the profile by deleting the %userprofile%\appdata\Local\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync\[email protected] folder.

    Hi Fellows,
I am facing an issue with Exchange 2013 SP1 (5.0.847.32)
environment. I recently installed Lync 2013 (version: 5.0.8308.0) a week ago and just recently start getting the below error when configuring delegation or modifying the users/groups from Exchange Control Panel:
"The Object <object DN> has been corrupted, and it's in an inconsistent state. The following validation errors happened:
The access control defines the ObjectType <object guid> that can't be resolved.."
I can see some forum threads with same issue (links given below) but unable to find if this is a known issue and how to get it resolved. Need assistance if anyone has faced same and could help me out to figure it.

  • Lync 2013 installation on 2003 domain with 32bit DC

I am currently installing Lync 2013 into a 2003 domain. I only have 32bit DC so i am wondering if the AD Prep will work with the Lync install on server 2012?

    Hi,
You can deploy Lync Server 2010 in a forest or domain where domain controllers run 32-bit versions of some operating systems (for details, see Active Directory Infrastructure Requirements). However, you cannot use the Lync Server Deployment Wizard to run
schema, forest, and domain preparation in these environments because the Deployment Wizard and supporting files are 64-bit only. Instead, you can use ldifde.exe and the associated .ldf files on a 32-bit domain controller to prepare the schema, forest and domain.

    HI
is this a quite clear answer:
Did you saw the error message: This product cannot be installed on a domain controller?
Please use a different Server, than it will work, it is not supported to be installed on a domain controller.

  • Uninstall Lync 2010 client, Install Lync 2013 using Group Policy/VB/MS Customisation Tool

Hi, I am using Group Policy/vb/Lync customization tools to deploy 2013 and remove 2010. The machines have Office 2010. The vb script is as below:
    Dim objShell 'As Object
    Dim objFSO 'As FileSystemObject
    '-- SET OBJECTS
    Set objFSO = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
    Set objShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
    strComputerName = objShell.ExpandEnvironmentStrings("%COMPUTERNAME%")
    Dim WshNetwork : Set WshNetwork = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Network")
    objShell.Run """\\xxxxxxxxx - Do not Remove\Lync Install 2013 2010\Lync 2013 Outlook 2010\setup.exe"""
I have amended the OCT with relevant settings, Lync 2013 installs but Lync 2010 does not uninstall. Here is how i have it set:
In the Office Customization Tool - Set-up - Add Installation and Run Programs,
In target - pointing to the Lync2010 exe file (on above share)
    In Arguments - /silent /uninstall
    Is this correct?
Also, i would have thought that, Remove Previous Installations, it would have an option to remove Lync2010?
    Anyway..pulling my hair out here!
    Hope you can help.

  • Installing Lync 2013 and remove 2010 client via SCCM

    We have Windows 7 x64 PC’s running Lync 2010 64-Bit client.
What I need to do is install the Lync 2013 32-Bit client and then uninstall the Lync 2010 64-Bit client.
Using the Office Customization Took, I am able to install the Lync 2013 client fine, however the 2010 client isn’t not removed.
    Here is what I did:
-Have the standalone Lync 2013 installer.
I then copied the Lync 2010 64-bit install files into a new folder in the Lync 2013 source files.
    This folder is c:\Lync2013\Lync2010
-Created MSP file using OCT set to never reboot.
-Under ‘Add installations and run programs’ option, I specified the Lync 2010 to be removed post install of Lync 2013.
The Command line:  [post install] [INSTALLLOCATION]\Lync2010\LyncSetup.exe /silent /uninstall
-Loaded this into SCCM and set to run at a logon event.
As stated above, Lync 2010 is not removed.
    A few questions:
Is this even possible using the OCT?
In the OCT, is it a problem trying to mix two different installers?
    One 32-Bit, the other 64-Bit?
If not, then is the command line correct for the Lync 2010 uninstall?
If no for # 3, how do I make SCCM use the correct path to the package where the Lync 2010 install files are?
In the OCT, do I need to have the Lync 2010 command line as:
    \%WINDIR%\SystemWOW64\CCM\Cache\nameofpackage
Please help me alleviate some frustration with any ideas for the above.

You can use the command msiexec.exe /uninstall “C:\Program Files (x86)\OCSetup\Lync.msi” to uninstall Lync 2010.
Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.
I'll try this, thanks!  For the post uninstall of Lync 2010 using the OCT, should I also ad /quiet switch or /no restart to suppress dialog boxes and not restart the PC when the removal is complete?  Or will the OCT prevent it from being restarted
and 'suppress modals' as I set this during the install of Lync 2013.

  • Lync 2013 "Setup can't find or validate an installation file...."

    Enterprise client installation.
    We're running Windows 7 32bit SP2, Office 2010 32bit SP2.
Attempting to run the install for Lync 2013 (32-bit) on a test system and get the following warning immediately:
"Setup can't find or validate an installation file.  Please try installing Office from your installation source, or if you installed from a downloaded package, please re-download and re-install....."
The source Lync 2013 file is direct from MVLS.
Any reason why this install from MVLS refuses to run from the source?  Obviously, Lync 2013 wasn't included with Office 2010, so re-installing Office won't resolve this issue.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi,
It may also cause by the issue of the conflict with other software, please use clean boot to test the issue. In this mode install Lync 2013 file again.
You can refer to the link of “How to perform a clean boot in Windows”:

  • Lync Server 2013 Installation on Server 2012

    Hi
i'm trying to install Lync 2013 on a clean FE server running server 2012, however, i have installed all the required roles and features including .NET 4.5 but when i run the Lync setup it says Microsoft .Net 4.5 or higher must be installed (3.5 is also installed
on the FE server). i have tried rebooting the server but to no avail. Please help
    katlego

    Hi,
Lync Server requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5. For Lync Server 2013, you must manually install the 64-bit edition of Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 on the server prior to installing Lync Server 2013. To manually install it, download the Microsoft .NET
4.5 Framework from the Microsoft Download Center at
    http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=268529
To Install .NET 4.5 HTTP Activation on Windows Server 2012
From the Start menu, click Programs, then click
Administrative Tools, then click Server Manager.
In Server Manager, under Features Summary, choose Add Features.

  • Lync 2013 client installation using SCCM

    Hi everyone,
I have been performed Office 2013 installation in my domain. For this puprpose, I used SCCM 2007 R3.
At the beginning I customized this installation using OCT. I have excluded Lync from my Office 2013 distribution package, because we use Communicator Server 2007. Afterwards, I found that it is possible to use Lync 2013 with OCS 2007: http://www.technipages.com/lync-2013-fix-cannot-sign-in-because-the-server-version-is-incompatible-with-microsoft-lync-error.html
How can I silently deploy Lync on workstations, which already have received Office 2013 without Lync? If I simply  try  to add Lync feature in my package using OCT, silent installation stops on "Add/remove/repair components..." (which,
we, of course, cannot see during a silent setup).

You could utilize Config.xml to deploy Lync client. This will make installation silently.

    Hi Juke,
Thanks for you answer. But actually not all is clear for me. In this article, I can see this:
"By default, the Config.xml file that is stored in the core product folder (for example, \product.WW) directs Setup to install that product. For example, the Config.xml file in the following folder installs Lync 2013:
    \\server\share\Lync15\Lync.WW \Config.xml"
But in my Office 2013 installation folder, the Lync.WW folder does not exist.
Should I create it (and Config.xml too) manually? Can I remove other folders like Excel, Word from Office2013 installation folder?

  • Lync 2013 OCT deployment on machines with Office 2010. Installation Failure

    Hi,
In our environment, we have Win7, Office 2010 x86. (no plans to upgrade all of Office to 2013 as yet)
I'm trying to deploy Lync 2013 x86, and have packaged an MSP using "setup /admin" for later deployment via SCCM.
Now I know there are no problems running Lync 2013 with Office 2010 as it works fine if you manually install.
Strange thing is, when I try running the setup with MSP for silent install, it runs silent and all looks well although all the Office Tools shortcuts are created and there are files under the Program Files folders for Office\15.0 as expected
but not Lync itself. ie: no lync.exe file or shortcuts.
Reviewing the setup log doesn't show any obvious errors that I can tell.
Also after this, if I go through the "Add/Remove Components" under Uninstall Programs\Lync 2013, and I can see in there that it DOES already show Lync as being installed, if I just click continue, it runs through the setup process and
    then Lync will be installed
I've also tried this same process using the Full "Office Pro Plus 2013" and only select Lync to install and the same thing happens.
Has anyone else come across this issue or could point me in the right direction.
For the OCT (setup.exe /admin) the only settings I've changed from defaults are:
    - Filled in the Organisation name
    - Set KMS licensing, display level to none and suppress modal
    - some regkeys for some default settings for GalDownloadInitialDelay, ShownFirstRunOptin
    - Force on Lync (Run from My Computer)
I'm running "setup.exe /adminfile Lync_x86.MSP" in my case to test this MSP.

I had the same issue. As soon as I updated to the latest Admin admx/opal files, it worked great.
    Cheers,

This issue was introduced when SP1 was released, and is detailed here:

(it remains uncorrected by MSFT :(

  • Lync 2013 client Installation License Key Problem

    Hi,
I have a question, I have tried to install Lync 2013 with SCCM... but found that installing Lync Client with MSP file was not working. so I found the solution and pushed Lync Client with Config.xml ...
it went through and installed on 700 machines successfully.
now the problem arised, Lync client is now asking for License Key and I don't know what to be done :(
how to push License Key on all those lync clients?
    kindly help and suggest.
    BR, Phaixan

It depend on you Lync License. If you use a VLK License or MAK you have to import the Lyncense to you License server. You have to activate the License on your KMS server
