Lync 2013 - Office 32 bit cannot connect when attemtping to share from preset Outlook Meeting

I have Office 2013 32 bit version installed on my computer running Win7. I cannot use 64 bit as another software that I run will not work with 64 bit.
When I set up a meeting in Outlook 2013, and set it as a Lync Meeting, I can start the meeting and people can call in and connect. When I attempt to share my desktop or monitor or anything, it does not connect to allow me to share. If others in the meeting
attempt to share their desktop, the same happens. I get a Connecting Icon at the top of the screen and then eventually a message that says cannot connect to the server. This happens everytime, I try to do a Lync meeting this way.
If I call someone with Lync and Share my desktop or monitor, I am able to share with no issues.
I have tried, uninstalling and reinstalling Lync. I have tried to install latest updates. I have tried to repair office. None of these work.
Others in our office with the same set up do not have this issue.
Any ideas how to resolve this?
Dave

Hi,
It may cause by the issue of the FE server MCU, please double check if MCU on FE server works well, when two participants are connected, the session is essentially peer-to-peer. When three or more participants are connected, the desktop
Sharing feature depends on the Front End Server Multi Point Control Unit (MCU) to provide the sharing stream to all parties.
Please check if port 5065/TCP is available on Front End server.

  • Cannot connect to the iTunes Store from my home network since I upgraded to ios 6

    I own an iPad 2 and recently upgraded to ios 6. Since then, I cannot connect to the iTunes store from my home network.  I can navigate any other site and access any other application.  I can even reach the iTunes store through My Personal Hotspot and through my office network.
    Has anyone experienced something similar?  My network carrier is Telmex and I know for sure, they block port 25.  Any guess on whether there could be a setting impeding connection?
    Help!!!

    Hi Nickey,
    If you are having difficulty connecting to the iTunes store from your PC there are a number of things you can try to get connected again. Details are available in this article -
    Can't connect to the iTunes Store

    I see you have already checked to make sure your system and other software is up to date, but there are plenty of ways to continue from there.
    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Creating a new connection when creating a report from scratch

    I've searched all around but I haven't managed to find any samples or forum posts that show how to create a connection when creating a report from scratch via RCAPI.  All of the code that I've found has been aimed at replacing the ConnectionInfo for an existing connection.  I figured that it would work something like this:
    m_crystalReport.setReportAppServer(ReportClientDocument.inprocConnectionString);
    m_crystalReport.newDocument();
    IConnectionInfo ci = new ConnectionInfo();
    PropertyBag propertyBag = new PropertyBag();
    propertyBag.put("Use JDBC", true);
    propertyBag.put("Connection URL", "jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://localhost:1433;databaseName=" + DB_NAME);
    propertyBag.put("Database Class Name", "net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.Driver");
    propertyBag.put("Database DLL", "crdb_jdbc.dll");
    ci.setAttributes(propertyBag);
    m_connection = new Connection();
    m_connection.setConnectionInfo(ci);
    m_connection.open();
    but this produces a NullPointerException within Connection.open().  If I leave the connection closed but add it to the report via DatabaseController.addConnection() then I just get the exception later on when I try to add tables using the connection.
    Can anyone give me any pointers please?
    Thanks,
    Rich.

    Just in case anyone else runs into this, I managed to fix it by leaving the connection closed and then using the connection info instead of the connection when creating tables, eg:
         ITable t = new Table();
         t.setAlias(v.getAlias());
         t.setName(v.getView().getName());
         t.setConnectionInfo(m_connectionInfo);
         getDatabaseController().addTable(t, null);

  • Cannot connect to iBookstore on iTunes from ipad

    Cannot connect to iBookstore on iTunes from my iPad even though a couple of weeks ago everything was fine.
    If anyone had a similar problem and was able to resolve it I would appreciate a feedback.
    I tried resetting the iPad as well as the router but nothing seems to work.

    Try closing all of the apps in the recents tray on your iPad, reboot again and then try the iBooks Store again
    Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Keep swiping in the recents tray until you close all of the apps. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
    Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

    Hi,
    Using Office 365 and Lync 2013.
    Windows 7 64bit machine (New) Only built a couple of days ago.
    I keep getting the following error
    I have 2 machines next to eachother, one works perfect with Lync and signs in fine, the other does not and gets the erro above.
    I also have another 3 newly built machines and they are having exactly the same issue.
    When I get this message there is an Event as follows
    The description for Event ID 0 from source MSOIDSVC.EXE cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
    If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.
    The following information was included with the event:
    InitializeSvcAPI failed with hr = 0x80048883
    I can sign into Office 365 fine, and use all the funcationality.
    I have tried the following
    Reimage machine - No Success
    Uninstall office 2013 - No Success
    Removed By licence from Office 365 - No Success
    Tried loggin in using the local admin account rather than Domain - No success
    I have also tried installing the Microsoft Online Services Sign-in Assistant - No Success
    As you can probably tell, im not having much success.
    Any Ideas?

    Hi there,
    It really sounds like network connectivity issues, like firewall or DNS.
    Have you tried to connect the clients from another network?
    Additionally, have you been trough this help document?

  • Lync 2013/Office 2010 authentication issues

    Hi everyone,
    I am fairly new to the OCS/Lync environment and have a question about one of our users.
    He is running Win 7 Ent (x64) and has Office 2010 and Lync 2013 installed (both x86).  It appears that at the most random times, Lync will prompt him to enter his username and password in order for Lync to integrate his Outlook information.
    I have entered his username as domain\username and the correct password and this corrects the issue, but only for a few minutes.  Once Lync prompts him again, almost simultaneously, he gets the Outlook box asking him to verify his credentials.
    When we enter his credentials in the Outlook box, it does not take and the box persistently pops up (of course, this ends up locking out his account but once we unlock it the cycle continues.  I have tried turning outlook cached mode on and off and I
    cannot seem to figure out why his credentials are not being accepted.
    I'm not asking for anyone to solve the issue directly; rather, if you have any idea where I can start to read and learn about how these products integrate and what might cause this issue, I'd be very appreciative.  Of course a couple of places to start
    troubleshooting would be appreciated and respected as well :)
    Thanks everyone!
    PS - I posted to Lync 2010 forum because there was not one for Lync 2013.

    I have the same issue, except this variable.
    When adding Lync 2013 to my workstation and another coworkers workstation, neither of us were able to connect to the mail server with Outlook. The login box would appear, but not authenticate. I tried removing my credentials for outlook under the User/Groups
    area, but to no avail. The next step was to remove my mail account and re-setup. Outlook will now refuse to take any settings for this email account. Email is hosted in Office 365 solely. The only two systems affected are those with Lync 2013 installed.
    Next step is to remove all traces of Office 2010 and 2013. If this does not resolve the issue, what background authentication piece did I overlook? Were there any authorization changes ordifferences between
    2010 and 2013 when it comes to AD/Office 365 integration?
    Thanks,
    Charles
    EDIT: I removed all traces of Office 2010 as well as registry entries, and reinstalled. Auto discover over AD still isn't working, and now Outlook keeps popping up a dialog box asking for my username and password for the email account.
    Help.

  • Lync 2013 SP1 64 bit crashes on Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit SP1

    Systems Involved:
    Dell OptiPlex 9020 All in One (080) –Crashes Lync 2013 64bit SP1
    Dell OptiPlex 9020 All in One (081) –Crashes with Lync 2013 64bit SP1   -Working okay with 2010 so far
    Dell OptiPlex 9020 All in One (083) –Clean install Seems to be working okay
    Details of the problems
    I have a put in place 2 Dell OptiPlex 9020 All in One’s both with network card Intel I217-LM.
    The first system (080) I put place crashed several times before, I put a different new 9020AIO (083) that I created a new with clean install from disk of Windows 7 and Office 2013 64 bit with Lync 2013 64 bit upgraded to SP1.    After having this
    system side by side with the system that was crashing all the time and network capturing software installed on the new system this issue appeared to disappear.  The user has not reported an issue with Lync 2013 in three to 4 weeks.
    After thinking this was an issue with Office 2013-upgraded SP1. I decided to create a new image Windows 7 and Office 2013 64 bit SP1 intergraded .iso from web store. (Not upgraded) thinking there was something wrong with the SP 1 upgrade the way I intended
    it to work.   I reimaged the other 9020’s I have including the one (080) that was having the crashing issues.
    The second system (081) is a new image I created, the system got some office updates from the WSUS it should not have been updated with and Lync 2013 was also crashing. I decided to reimage (080) a clean format with the new image.  I put this system in
    place for the user knowing it was clean install and not have any issue but for the last 2 weeks Lync 2013 has crashed.
    I did take their old system back to my desk and was able to get it to crash as well.  I decided to see if this problem was with Lync so I installed Lync 2010 I have not seen issue with 2010 yet.
    I have also rolled out 2 Dell OptiPlex 7010 towers   with the same image as above with no issues so it seems like this issue is only related to the 9020AIO.
    Issue:
    The computer will operate fine for most of the time but Lync 2013 will crash with not responding, please sign into Lync on the phone  (Plantronics D540m).  I get windows circle thing spinning and Lync is not responding    if you close the
    program it will try to run solution finder but there is not anything that will help.   The only way to fix this issue is to reboot at this time.   At first I thought it was the network driver issue for Intel I217-LM but after installing the usb network
    adapter I believe the issue is something related to Lync 2013 SP1
    Things I have tried
    1. System Event : Application Log pulled  I will include below in this message
    2. 9020 with Intel I217-LM
    3. Update driver version = to current version
    4. Change power management settings as outlined http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/desktop/f/3514/p/19523337/20460673.aspx
    5. Disable Wireless and  Bluetooth
    6. Reset users Lync account
    7. USB Network Adapter.

    1.The program lync.exe version 15.0.4569.1503 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel.

    If so, it seems that the Lync update is incompatible with your computer.

  • Lync 2013-Office Web Access Server-IPAD

    I have configured a Office Web App server onto a Windows Server 2012.  I was able to upload a PowerPoint from a Lync 2013 client both internally and externally.  When I test external access to that PowerPoint from an IPAD using the 2013 clinet,
    I am not able to see the PowerPoint.  If I VPN into the network from the IPAD it works.  There seems to be a problem with my AAR but, like I said my Lync 2013 client works fine though AAR.  I can browse to the external url http:\\externalurl\hosting\discovery
    and I can see the XML page.  I have confirmed that I can ping the internal name on the AAR.
    I am using the following pattern us/|^hosting/|^m/|^o/|^oh/|^op/|^p/|^we/|^wv/|^x/).*) in my AAR
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Are you able to access the PowerPoint externally using the desktop Lync client?
    If not, check that you are able to access your Web Conferencing ports on your Edge infrastructure. (usually TCP 443 on the webconf.domain.com (or whatever you called it) on the Edge server or TCP 444 if you have only a single IP on your Edge)
    The test you've done, shows that you are able to connect to your Office WAC. But if you can't connect to webconf service, this can cause this type of issue - and it's not obvious.

  • Lync 2013 internal video stuck at connecting

    Hi,
    I have built a simple Lync 2013 deployment with two FE enterprise servers a F5 load balancer and a single edge server. The problem I have is that video or desktop sharing won't work internally. The status within the client is 'Connecting...' if I perform
    a network monitoring capture, when I start my video and get the 'connecting..' notice, I see packets from my PC to the Lync edge server.
    This is confusing as I expected video to be peer-to-peer.
    Is there something wrong with my topology to explain this behaviour?

    Hi, Thanks for replying! The workload poster is very useful. Spent all of yesterday looking at snooper, network monitor, firewall logs, but couldn't resolve issue. Overnight had the thought of a fresh install of the Lync client on test PC's, this worked!
    yah!
    I had customised the installation of the lync client, I removed the Office 2013 tools, including the lync recording manager, office 2013 language prefrences and office 2013 upload center (we use office 2010). As I didn't think these were necessary for basic
    lync, seems I was wrong.
    Will work on the cutomised install again to include these options, and wil test lync video / desktop sharing.

  • Lync 2013 (Office 365) Voice Mail to Text

    Environment:  Lync 2013 (Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus)
    Issue:  When the voice mail ends up in outlook inbox, the transcription (voice to text) is very poor.  Why?
    Any idea what technology MSFT is using for transcription (the voice commands within the voice mail system work well, but the  transcription is very poor)?  Most large businesses use Dragon (by Nuance).
    Hope MSFT fixes this or just drop the transcription function until it works properly.

    That's actually pretty good. Here is one I received from Lync to Lync using Polycom CX600

  • Cannot connect when not granting acces to akamaitechnologies!!!

    Hi,
    Since a few days my firewall asks me that I have to grant access to the infamous akamaitechnologies(a194-109-192-7.deploy.akamaitechnologies.con) when starting sqldeveloper. If I refused I cannot connect!!!????. Before I have to grant access to bigip-www-adc.oracle.com (see my earlier post) and I get the same error: "I/O exception. The network adapter cannot establish the connection". vendor code 17002
    STILL NO ANSWER: WHY SHOULD I GRANT ACCESS MY COMPUER TO COMMUNICATE WITH AKAMAITECHNOLOGIES FOR USING SQLDEVELOPER???
    I dont like that external computers poking around in my computer.

    I did not see your earlier thread. It is best to reuse your initial thread and not to open a new one, as I had to go in search for your query and see if there were any other comments on the thread. This is not something from SQL Developer. You should definitely refuse that connection.
    In terms of the I/O exception, can you use SQL*Plus to connect to your database? Are you using a basic connection or tnsnames?
    What release of SQL Developer are you using? What platform? What database? what jdk?

  • Linksys WAG54GS Router - iBook G4 Cannot Connect When Encryption Enabled

    Hi - I have a HP laptop and Apple iBook G4 with a wireless connection transmitted through a Linksys Wireless router. When encryption is disabled, the iBook can pick up a signal and I can browse the internet, when WEP encryption is enabled, it cannot. The HP works fine. I add the WEP key to the iBook but it cannot connect. I've tried the two 128bit encryption options and the standard option, but none of them allow a connection. Is there a specific way to secure your internet connection/router when using an Apple? Any ideas/comments appreciated.

    Flames1977, Welcome to the discussion area!
    Hopefully the information in KB 106250, Mac OS X, AirPort: Connecting to Third-Party Base Stations will help.
    Also if the Linksys has several locations for keys, make sure that your WEP key is in location #1. Apple does not support any other location.

  • Managing User Photos with On Premise Lync 2013 & Office 365

    Hello, I'm just looking for a little clarity in terms of expected behavior when using the various methods of modifying user images on these systems.
    For example, I've read that Lync 2013 can utilize the high resolution photo that is stored within the user's Exchange mailbox. That would work good in theory, but what about Lync users who do not have an Exchange mailbox (or UM voicemail box)? Presumably
    in that case you could use one of the AD attributes, thumbnailPhoto or jpegPhoto, the latter being preferred as it allows for higher resolution images. However in my experience, when using the jpegPhoto attribute, dirsync does successfully replicate the photo
    and it shows up on the O365 portal, but the on-premise Lync server/clients have inconsistent success displaying them. Some user's can see other user's photos, but they can see eachothers or vice versa and eventually the Lync client stops displaying any of
    these photos.
    Ideally for us, if we could use the jpegPhoto attribute for all users, as opposed to using exchange attributes for some, that would be best, but is it designed to work this way?

    Hi FuzzMunk,
    I don’t think that Lync Server will
    synchronize the photo from
    JPEGPhoto attribute, as I know
    it only synchronizes the photo from
    thumbnailPhoto attribute in Active Directory.
    You can see the photo displayed on Office365 portal
     because it synchronizes the photo from both the
    thumbailphoto and jpegphoto attributes.

  • Lync 2013 client is deployed but user accounts are not migrated from OCS to Lync 2013 Server - how to open Lync meetings automatically in the Lync Web Plug-in

    We have in our enterprise the following scenario:
    1 - Lync 2013 client is installed
    2 - User accounts are not migrated to Lync 2013 Server, users are using Office Communicator as their main tool
    3 - Users receive Lync 2013 meeting requests but when try to access them, Lync 2013 client launches and shows error. Users will need to open the browser and paste the URL to the address bar but this still open
    4 - We cannot use the workaround of adding "?SL=1" to the Lync 2013 meeting URL as the user base is large and manual workaround is not accepted
    5 - Question: is there any automated way, via egistry key or GPO setting, so that users temporarily (until their accounts are migrated to Lync 2013 server) can bypass Lync 2013 client completely and automatically open all Lync 2013 meetings
    on the browser, using Lync Web Plug-in?

    Thanks for the response,
    First, I should have mentioned clearly that users have Office Communicator 2007 client and Lync 2013 client installed in their machines. Their accounts are not migrated yet to Lync 2013 server.
    Second, we are using IE9 and IE10. The issue is that users CAN join Lync 2013 meetings with their browsers but have to paste the URL manually to browser and add "?SL=1" otherwise, if they just click at the "Join Online Meeting" or "Join
    Lync Meeting" URL it launches Lync 2013 client which shows error because is not configured yet, as they are using OCS client and migrating slowly to Lync 2013 server.
    Is there a Group Policy setting or a registry key from Microsoft that can be turned on to these users machines and make will all Lync meeting requests to be opened in IE browser instead of Lync 2013 client. We need a way to ignore
    Lync 2013 client until user accounts are migrated to Lync 2013 Server. Manually typing URLs is not an option in a big organization, can't explain thousands of users of different levels what to do.
    We are regretting the decision not to separate Lync 2013 from Office 2013 package we deployed recently. If Lync 2013 is uninstalled then all Lync meeting requests are opened in browser without an issue.
