Lync Client 2013 - Redial External Contacts

Envrionment  :
Lync Standard Edition with 2 Front Enda dn 1 Edge Server present
AudioCode Gateway acts as the SBC for SIP trunk to the enviornment.
User is saving an external contacts in his outlook contact settings.
Now to reach this contact, he is manually selecting the contact card and clicking more to dial the external contacts number. If the call is successfull or unsuccessful a entry is created in the call logs of Lync client.
Now second time the user is going to his call logs and selecting REDIAL. This time, Lync client is NOT seeing the external contacts phone number and instead of that it is dialing to external contacts email address.
How to change this on group wide settings such a way that redial only takes the phone number and not external email address ?
Thanks & regards
regards

Is this contact in Outlook with an email address?
Please check there is a phone number with the contact.
If there isn’t, the redial won’t show the phone number.

  • Disable auto sign in at start-up for Lync client 2013

    Hi,
I want to stop the Lync client from signing in automatically at start-up.
Is there a way to do so?
We are using Lync client 2013.
    Thanks in advance

Not as far as I am aware (at least on a PC that the user is logged onto their domain account with) . The only option you have is to stop the Lync client from starting up with Windows (see here - explains both options dialog and reg key http://blogs.technet.com/b/rischwen/archive/2013/06/20/lync-2013-client-auto-start-registry-key.aspx)
If it's a shared PC, you can try this: http://allunifiedcom.wordpress.com/2012/04/12/prevent-lync-from-auto-saving-of-credentials-e-g-multi-user-pc/

  • How Can I move contact users saved on lync client 2010 to lync client 2013 ?

i did a migration between lync 2013 and lync 2010 everything done ok
now when move the users from the lync 2010 pool to new pool  and sign in  with my user i couldn't  see any contact on my old list
there was DBIMPEXP.exe tool but this tool not exist in lync 2013
i took a backup for all users but how can i restored them to new client
the backup file on lync 2010 is "xml"
and in the lync 2013 is "zip"
     thank you all

    Please check the following blog.
    http://www.shudnow.net/2012/10/09/dbimpexp-exe-functionality-integrated-into-lync-2013-preview-management-shell/
Lync Server 2013 Preview has deprecated the use of DBIMPEXP.exe.
There are now native Lync Mangement Server cmdlets to provide the equivalent.
You can use the command convert-csuserdata to convert between a 2010 XML file provided from DBIMPEXP.exe and a ZIP file provided from Export-CSUserData.

  • Lync clients 2013 fails to show video, but 2010 works ok.

We'v migrated from 2010 to 2013 Lync server. But some Lync clients in remote places are still 2010.
And today I'v discovered that in a conference for 50+ participants but only one speaker (audio, video and presentation) for some reasons no one of 2013 client and WebApp could see a speaker video. I'v first restarted a client, then
a device, but no effect. After 30 minutes we have to start without a video, but some users with 2010 clients wrought that they have a video of the speaker.
I'v installed a Lync 2010 to my test PC, and on the same PC, with the same credentials 2010 client video is ok, and 2013 shows only a video placeholder.
I’v created a test conference, and the same situation repeats with only 4 clients.
    Any suggestions ?

    Hi,
From your description above, did you mean only 4 special Clients have this issue?
If yes, please try to check the OC firmware, delete Lync user profile and Lync information on Registry, then test he issue again. If the issue persists, please check if the Lync 2013 client update to the latest version.

  • Lync Client 2013 64bit instantly crashes before sign-on || Office 2013 ProPlus 64bit & Windows 8.1 Enterprise 64bit

I have a problem with my Lync Client. It simply crashes before the sing-on with following error appearing in application log:

As the faulting module path is not pointing to a conflicting Bluetooth driver or anything, how to troubleshoot what software is conflicting this?
Needless to say I've done all basic steps; reinstalling the office, updating with all the latest Office & Windows patces, repairing it, tried it with another / empty user account, etc. This is a new machine with clean Windows installation without OEM

Only clients "Starting..." screen is showing before the crash.

Please check if Word, Excel work correctly.
Check if Lync 2013 works on other computer installed using the same installation media.

    Hi,
Did the issue happen only for you or for multiple users?
You can try to logon other Lync client on other computer with your Lync account as a test.
It may cause by the conflicts between the Lync client and some drivers or some third party programs installed on the computer.
Please check if you install Bluetooth utility on your computer? If yes, please remove it and test the issue again.
Please also run Clean Boot to disable thirty party services and then test again:

  • Lync Client 2013 - IM's sent show incorrect Font and text color

No matter what I set text to, either in Options or directly in the IM window, my text goes out in Times New Roman, with the first word in black and subsequent characters in gray.  Has anyone else experienced this, and does anyone know how to resolve
    it?
Edit: I confirmed that once the server was upgraded to Lync 2013, this issue went away.  The only fix in a mixed environment was disabling the LyncHTML process.

    Hi,
The issue may be more related to Lync client. Please reinstall Lync and install latest update to test the issue.

  • Lync Client 2013 not Signing in, But Lync 2010 Do Sign In

    Dears,
I have a weird problem, I have installed Lync 2013 FE Server, after I finished installing it I tried to test the log in with the Lync 2013 client, it asked for authentication but everytime I enter the authentication it gives me an error of server is unavailable
    now.
I've checked the DNS records, ports and certificate everything is fine, but it doesn't sign in. The weird issue here is that I tried to use a Lync 2010 client and it signed successfully with no error and within 2 seconds!!!
The only thing different in my deployment here is that I've updated the Lync to CU1 before I start the services for the first time and also before requesting and assigning the certificates.
Please do anyone has an idea of why this is happening? I will try tomorrow to uninstall Lync and its databases and start fresh without the CU1.

    Hi,
Please check if the Lync 2013 uses the automatical configuration to sign in Lync seve.
Please check the Client version policy in the Lync server control panel. Maybe the client version policy block it with mistake configuration.
Have a test to install the Lync 2013 on other PC then check the issue again.

  • Adding Custom command in Call Sidebar in Lync Client 2013

I created a Lync custom command, that appears when user right click on the contact. My application is a telephony integration. I want my option to be appear in Call side menu when right clicking on the contact. Is there any way I can achieve this ?
I used the following registry keys to create my commands
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync\SessionManager\Apps\{3E0352E8-21F3-4E00-AA46-2ADA7085C9AD}]
    "Name"="My App"
    "ApplicationType"=dword:00000000
    "ApplicationInstallPath"="C:\\telephony.exe"
    "Path"="C:\\telephony.exe /userId=%user-id% /contactId=%contact-id%"
    "SessionType"=dword:00000000
    "ExtensibleMenu"="ConversationWindowRightClick;MainWindowRightClick"

There are addition options you can specify in the ExtensibleMenu options.
    "MainWindowActions;MainWindowRightClick;ConversationWindowRightClick;ContactCardMenu;ConversationWindowActions"
I think you want ConversationWindowActions but we ware they will show up on both IM and Calls, so you may have to handle the code behind a little different depending on the modalites your conversation has.

  • Error Installating Lync Client 2013 Basic 32-bit

    Hi,
We're implementing Lync in our office and have already deployed a server and working with a few pilot users.
one of the users, I've tried installing Lync Basic Client (32bit), always gives an error.
During installation, it would stop in the middle and would say that it would need to restart. We're already restarted twice and yet same error occurs.
The desktop is a Windows 8 machine with Office 2010 installed.
    Any help?
    Regards
    Eisen

What is the error did you get?
On Windows 8 computer, I installed Office 2010 and Lync Basic client (32 bit).
I didn’t have the same problem.
Please try to uninstall Office 2010 first and install Lync Basic client.

  • Outlook contacts not seen in lync client

    Hi,
I've got Outlook 2010 and lync client 2013.
I've got many contacts in outlook and the behavior of them in lync is:
    1. if contact has not got email the telephones are seen and contact is seen as Telephone icon,
    2. if contact has got email (domain different as sip domain) the telephones are not seen and contact is seen as Unknown user.
    Is it correct behavior?
Lync client 2013 got newest update.
What should I do to make lync search all outlook contacts?
    Thanks in advance.

Open Lync option, click Personal, check the Microsoft Exchange or Microsoft Outlook is selected under Personal information manager.
Call the contact for PSTN number with Lync client to check if you can call the number successfully.

  • Contact Groups in Lync Server 2013

    HI,
I have deployed the Lync 2013 server . I can successfully login to Lync client 2013 using lync server 2013. But i wan to create a group list/group  on server side and all clients/user i will add in this list/group. After login to Lync client this group
will show on all the user on client side. In office Communicator 2007 R2 i had created the same requirement. But in lync 2013 server i did not find this kind of option.
    Help me on this
    Thanks

I would recommend you combine Exchange Server and PowerShell script.
You can put all AD users enabled for Lync Server to a Distribution Group, then add this group to a reference account. Export the contact information to other Lync users.
    You can refer to

  • No meetings option in Lync client

Hi I recently installed Lync 2013 server. In LAN I have lync.doamin.local certificate and outside I have public one. Users started using Lync. We wanted to test it and 3 people wanted to join.
    I noticed several issues.
    1. From within the lan - from the pc that is domain joined where office 2010 and lync 2013 are installed when user follows the link for the meeting, Chrome opens and it wants to install web client - which at the end is forbidden by admin. So although there
is a lync client present and user is signed in - meeting lync wouldn't open with lync client.
I tried the same with internet explorer but I white page opens with only Lync written and language choice.
In registry there is entry for Explorer to start automatically for a=Lync.exe ....
How to open lync  client automatically?
    2. Lync client installed on domain joined machine I don't have meeting button - just contacts,  conversations and phone.
    How to enable this button??
    3. From within the lan - from the pc that is not domain joined I am getting certificate error that cannot be checked and that is not to be trusted.
    How to overcome certificate issue?
    Can you please advice? Thanks

    Hi MrAlexandar,
    As for your questions:
    1. Is the meeting URL like this
    https://meet.domain.com/xxx/xxxxxxx?sl=1  ?
If this is the case, please remove “ ?sl=1 “ and retry.
    2. Install the latest update for Lync 2013.
And also install the update KB2837643 which includes the image dll files needed.
        A similar case:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/lync/en-US/d9bdca05-ec90-4eb8-af2b-c3c9e2352eb6/lync-client-2013-meeting-icon-disappear?forum=lyncprofile
    3. Do you mean that the user cannot sign in Lync ?
If this is the case, please install the root certificate on the computer.
    Best regards,
    Eric

  • Lync Client Policy from command shell

    Hi all,
I would like to apply some restriction to Lync Client 2013.
From Technet Library and this forum link http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/ocsclients/thread/e4ec68fb-32e3-45f1-bceb-60399388cbf2,
what i need to do is set the group policy for Lync 2013 and also apply the configuration using
    Set-CsClientPolicy.
Is there any further reference about description of each settings/attribute on CsClient policy and what are the possible and acceptable value for those attributes (i mean rather than true n false)?
Is there any policy to hide the dial pad ?

    Hello!
    Download chm manual: Click
Open: Microsoft Lync Server 2013 -> Operations -> Lync Server Management Shell -> Lync Server Management Shell -> Client Management Cmdlets Index -> Set-CsClientPolicy
    But... But about the
dial pad there's nothing there =(
