Lync contact not updating

Hi All,
One user in my firm had her number changed due to relocation. Currently her AD and  Lync Menu>Phones display the latest number. There is no reference to the old no. anywhere now. I can see that her Lync contact when searched from my machine shows
latest number, Checked on one of my IT colleagues machine as well- Its updated to new number.
However, there are 2-3 user's in firm who can see her old no. and new no. which is causing confusion. I asked service desk to delete sip folder so Lync downloads from contact list which fixed the issue. Now
affected user has come back with 2 more user's who have her 2 phone numbers listed.
Not sure whats causing this replications inconsistency, Any suggestions guys?

The old number might still be sitting on Outlook contact and getting added in to the contact card. Check if that's the case. If the number is there, have it removed and then delete the SIP folder and get the GAL copy downloaded again.

    Facing error on all users profile as i have two SMTP address @domainX.com.pk and @domainY.com.pk and i have change default smtp but error still same.
    Apart from this when i check my outlook conversion folder is up to date and updated.

    Hi,
    If you change the SMTP account same with SIP account, please try to delete Lync user profile and restart Lync, Outlook client to test again.
    If you want to use different SMTP account with Lync account, you can also try to change Lync client policy, change the parameter DisableEmailComparisionCheck to True.

  • Updated to Mountain Lion, contacts not updating on Macbook

    My contacts on my macbook pro are not updating. I delete a contact on my mac, it disappears for a few seconds & then reappears. There is a exclamation point next to "iCloud" under Contacts. When I click on the exclamation point, a message appears that says "The operation could not be completed. No other information is available about the problem.".
    Sidenote: If I update something on my phone it's syncing with the cloud & vise versa.... but will not with my mac. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    It would help to know which one of the 9 different models of MacBook you have. To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier and post it back here.

  • Lync photo not updated even AD Profile is already updated

    Hi Gurus,
    I have similar issues with others in the forum which photo in lync client is not updated even though the its already changed in Active Directory. The others said we have to do this step :
    1. Run Update-csaddressbook
    2. Delete cache files ( ex : [email protected] )
    I did those steps but still have no luck on the issues. Is there anyone have this experience or have any solutions for this issues. Thank you very much.

    What Exchange server are you on?
    First run Update-CsUserDatabase - this sync FE database with AD info
    Running with -verbose will post that replication will take place in 5 minutes..
    Then run Update-CSAddressbook - This update the FE address book with the Info from its own Database
    Once again this will tell you it will begin replicating in 5 minutes...
    After 10 minutes you should be able to clear the cached files from the client and restart lync ...
    Here's a script a created to clear teh cached files on a client system, this should be run as teh standard user, as it grabs teh logge don users creds and clears the directory according to the logged on user..
    Save as a batch, on a network share accessible by everyone and run away safe time!

    And do you have any idea of difficult it is to place a cmd output into a variable in BATCH scripting?! redic!
    No it will say it can't remove a certain folder in the cached location if the user has outlook running... i didn't no script to close outlook for it doesn't get effect, or it still works either way..
    I'm also going to add that you go onto the FE server and check the attribute on user contactcard to ensure that the DisplayADPhoto attribute is set to True..
    Logon onto FE server - open powershell - and user the export-csuserdata command with the -legacy option to export as an xml file and then open the xml in IE and search for that attribute...

  • Lync Status Not Updating in Sharepoint 2010 with IE 11

    After migrating a few users to windows 8.1 with IE 11, Office 2013 these users cannot see their or other lync users status indicator in SharePoint.  In most paces the indicator doesn't even show up clear (Vs red, yellow green etc.).
    On the My site the indicator is clear but if you hover it shows the call, im video call window and status is displayed.
    The site is a trusted site so active X controls are running.
    What in IE 11 is preventing this from working?

    the Lync 2013 Windows client maintains a local cache of the address book and they can get in a state that causes a variety of issues with the Contact List in the Lync 2013 client. In my experience the Presence
    for some contacts shows as Unknown or Offline, however it can also cause some Contacts to go missing from the contact list, and to not display their Presence in Outlook.
    The resolution is simple enough – delete the SIP profile directory and restart the client. The SIP profile folder is located here:
    %UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync
    Deleting this SIP profile folder will trigger a complete address book download at a random interval in the next hour from when the client is restarted.

  • Lync Contacts not appearing in Lync 2010 after user is moved to Lync 2013

    Good Morning,
    Our company recently migrated all of our users to Lync 2013 from Lync 2010.   Most of our clients are still running the Lync 2010 client on their workstations.  There is an ongoing project where we are upgrading to Office 2013 as well.
    When a user signs into Lync, clicks on their contacts, the list is blank. They see their frequent contacts and are able to search for people.   Some people are able to manage their contacts through OWA 2013 since we have the integration in
    place. If they try to add contacts in Lync, they receive the message:
    Cannot Add, Remove or move contacts or groups at this time. Please try again later.
    I have tried going into the %appdata%\Microsoft\communicator directory and deleting the .cache and .idx and opening Lync again and still they do not appear.
    Found this article:  https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2757458?wa=wsignin1.0, but we cannot role people back to Lync 2010.  So they will just have to live with it until they receive Lync 2013 and  use OWA 2013 to manage them until their office
    client is upgraded.

    I’m not sure whether this is caused by UCS, but you can test it by disabling UCS for a test user.
    Run the following command and then check the result.
    New-CsUserServicesPolicy -Identity NoUCS -UcsAllowed $False
    Grant-CsUserServicesPolicy –Identity “test user” –PolicyName NoUCS
    Invoke-CsUcsRollback –Identity “test user”

  • Lync Status Not Updating Until Group is Expanded

    Hello all,
    I am having an issue that I can't seem to figure out. For the Groups view, the group doesn't seem to update a person's status when collapsed. After it is expanded, is only then the status will update and the person will go into a different group or move
    up or down the list, depending on filtering. Also if the expanded group extends past the bottom of the Lync window, those contacts don't update until seen. This also happens with the Status View as well. You need to scroll through the entire list to update
    everyone's status.
    Is this part of Lync or a bug? I am really hoping it is an issue because trying to find people after their status updates is annoying.

    Please try to delete the profile and check the presence.

  • Lotus Notes Contacts not updating properly

    A user with an 8703e is having trouble updating contacts wirelessly on the handheld.
    When a contact is edited (like add a new phone number) on the Lotus Notes Client version 8.02 and a replication is done the update does not take place on the handheld.
    However if a new contact is created that update does take place. 
    We are using BES version  4.1.5.24.
    The handheld is using software version 4.1.0.377

    You can tell what account they are in by opening Contacts, tapping Groups, then selecting your non-iCloud groups one at a time to see the contacts that belong to each non-iCloud account. 
    Let's assume that they are scattered across multiple iCloud accounts as you stated.  To get them all in iCloud, do the following:
    Go to Settings>iCloud, turn Contacts to Off, choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (they will still be in iCloud).
    Download the app My Contacts Backup to your phone.  (You'll need to get the "Pro" version if you have more than 500 contacts that you need to copy to iCloud.)  Use this to backup the remaining contacts on your phone (from the other accounts) as a vCard attachment to an email that you send to yourself.  Confirm that you have received the email.
    Go to Settings>iCloud and turn Contacts back to On.
    Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Contacts section), set this to iCloud.
    Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars...tap each of the other accounts that you are syncing contacts with (such as Gmail) and turn off contacts syncing.  This will prevent having duplicates when you re-import them from the backup your made earlier.
    Open the My Contacts Backup email and tap the attachment to import the contacts from the other accounts back to your phone.  They should be in iCloud, and as a result, will sync to your other devices.

  • Duplicate entries for birthdays/contacts not updating?

    Well this is an odd one!
    When I morphed from MobileMe to iCloud a few contacts were duplicated.  So I went thorugh my address book and deleted them.  However, their birthdays were added to the calendar and the calendar online still shows some people having 2 or 3 birthdays!  Also, I had somebody's date of birth wrong so went in and changed that - but on the web browser they still h ave three birthdays and are 4 years older than they really are?
    Any clues - apart from deleting their contact and starting again???

    Please try to run the Lync Server Management Shell Update-CsUserDatabase to force the back-end user database to clear its replication status with Active Directory.

  • Calendar and Contacts Not Updating IPhone 4g

    Hi.
    I have a user in our work environment using an IPhone 4g. He gets his emails in fine, but his contacts and calendar stopped updating. We have removed the account from the phone and set it back up again, but that didn't help. His Outlook updates as normal, so I believe it is the phone. He has almost 10,000 contacts and countless calendar items. Has anyone encountered this before?

  • Contacts not updated when backing up to iCloud

    I updated the content of an existing contact but yet the contact content doesn't update with the next backup.  What is the way to resolve this bacup problem?

    iCoud doesn't update your iCloud data when you back up to iCloud; it only creates a new iCloud backup.  Do you mean that when you change a contact on your phone, the contact is not changed in your contacts on icloud.com?  If so, manually add any changes to the contacts on your phone to the contacts on icloud.com.  Once the contacts on icloud.com are up to date, go to Settings>iCloud on your phone, turn Contacts to Off, choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (they will still be in iCloud), then after a minute or so turn Contacts back to On.  Then update another contact on your phone and confirm that the change is seen in your contacts on icloud.com now.

  • Contacts not updating in address book 5.0.3

    I have an iPhone OS 4.2.1 and the Contacts on the phone are no longer updating in my Address Book 5.0.3 on my Mac computer when i attempt to sync within iTunes 10.5.3. 
    Within iTunes in the Info section, "Sync Address Book Contacts" is checked, and within that "All contacts" is selected.
    I've never had this problem, they've always synced before.  Any suggestions as to what is going on?

    Well no, because I haven't had to do that when entering any other field (such as email address, home address, etc.), For those fields, it saves/edits/updates automatically. It's only with the "anniversary" line that I'm experiencing the problem. But I've just tried your suggestion now, and it's WORKED!  Thank you!  Now I'm curious as to why other fields update without hitting edit after entering, but anniversary doesn't.  Maybe next time I'm at the Genius bar, I'll inquire.

  • Contacts not updated when synching iphone 3g

    Had iphone 3g reset at Apple store because of issue with battery.  Had to synch phone to restore all apps and contact info.  After synching, apps are back but no contact info was reinstalled, no numbers or names.  Does anybody know how I can retrieve the contacts and load into phone?

  • Lync 2013 Photos will not update from AD

    I recently joined a company who has Lync 2013, Exchange 2010 and AD is at a 2003 functional level. We are experiencing issues where Lync photos are not updating from AD correctly. I have checked the pre-reqs;  Replicate this attribute to the Global
    Catalog is set for the ThumbnailPhoto attribute. We are also forcing photos from AD only (or no photo) by setting the following:
    "Set-CsClientPolicy -Identity PhotosControl -DisplayPhoto PhotosFromADOnly"  
    and finally we are setting the photo in ad using:
    "Import-RecipientDataProperty -Identity "Test User" -Picture -FileData ([Byte[]]$(Get-Content -Path "C:\pictures\testuser.jpg" -Encoding Byte -ReadCount 0))"
    The pictures being uploaded are under 10KB and update within Outlook but never updates on Lync. I have also manually tried running the "Update-CsAddressBook" command from Lync and waiting 24hours + but the photo will not update in Lync. I have
    also tried a 3rd party utility that grabs the attribute directly from each DC individually and each node is displaying the correct photo. Any Ideas?
    EDIT: I did some more testing and can say with quite a bit of certainty there is something not quite right on the Lync side of things. I started with the company over a month ago and although users can see my original photo that was added to AD, I myself
    do not even see it loaded in my client yet. I've completly dumped my local Lync cache but no change. Is there a specific Lync Server service that handles retrieving/pushing photos to the Lync clients?

    What I have found by using your article may have narrowed down the scope of the problem. I was able to find that on our Lync file store, the cached contacts/photos are being updated daily (as expected) and actually contain the correct photos. I confirmed
    this be using abserver.exe on the .lsabs file and then locating the contactID for a few users I know are not updating properly. Once I have their contact ID I simply look for their .photo file in the cached files, copy it out to a different location and change
    it to a .jpeg. To my surprise the photos are actually the correctly updated ones, so why are these no getting to the users/clients? I have gone through and deleted my local cache folder as well as the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync
    but unfortunately no change on my Client. I still see these users original photos.
    Another piece of the puzzle; We are also working on letting mobile devices connect to our Lync infrasructure as well. This is not fully functional yet however during my testing I did get Lync client for android running for a little while and low and behold
    the pictures are actually correct on my mobile device!! Surely this must give some kind of clue?
    We are planning to upgrade Exchange from 2010 to 2013 and I hoping that leveraging the HiDef photo capabilities for Lync 2013 with Exchange 2013 may fix this issue. What do you guys think?
