Lync Integration with BMC FootPrints Service

Gents , I have a question regarding integration between Lync and helpdesk ticketing system , I know that there is a partner solution for integration between SCSM and Lync , but I have a Customer who has different ticketing system Footprint Service Core.
11.5.0 and wants to integrate it with Lync Server 2013.
Any idea about similar solutions or partners that have developed this solution  before?
your help is much appreciated

Hi,
I am not aware of any partners who have integrated Lync with BMC Footprints service, however i dare say that if there is an API or SDK provided by this service then it should be possible to do some sort of integration between them. Ill ask some of my wider
team if they have heard of any partners who have done this and will get back to you if I hear anything different.

  • Integration with HP OpenView Service Desk

Hi, is there a way to integrate Enterprise Manager with HP OpenView Service Desk? I noticed that Oracle has an add-in for integrating with HP OpenView Service Manager. Does a similar one exist for HP OV Service Desk? Will appreciate if someone who has done/tried this can comment on the feasibility/limitations.
    cheers

Thanks for the link Rob. This helps me out. Hadn't gone through this particular documentation. I was looking at the management extensions (there is a downloadable jar available for HP Service Manager) - wanted to see if anything similar exists or has been tried for Service Desk (precursor). What we want to avoid is to re-do significantly the integration with Service Manager when we upgrade to SM from OVSD in the future.

  • Lync integration with Third-Party mail server's

    Hi all,
Does Lync integrates with any third party mail servers?
Or it integrates only with Exchange Server?
    Regards,
    ArunKumar.J

Agree with Thamara.  Exchange is the only platform supported for presence as well as voice functionality.  The client uses EWS to communicate with the server to check calendar integration, nothing else is going to mimic this properly enough to
    avoid issues.

  • Re: OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1 integration with Hyperion shared services 11.1.1.3

I am working on OBIEE authentication using hyperion shared services. To achieve this I did the following steps,
    1) Registered the shared services in Answers using 'Manage EPM workspace'
    2)Modified config.xml to enable HSSauthenticator
3)Modified instanceconfig.xml by adding external auth tags
4)In rpd created a init block using custom authenticator.
When I login into Answers using a username and password from hyperion shared services, it is saying invalid username/password.
Log file says ' xxxxxx authentication failed in repository star, Odbc driver returned an error (SQLDriverConnectW)'
Can some one explain me if I am missing anything here?? Is there anyone who has successfully implemented this before.
    Thanks,
    Sandeep

    Sandeep,
I am fairly certain that this integration actually works in the other direction.
That is from the Oracle Hyperion Workspace portal you need to log in and once you are in Workspace from the file menu an option for "Oracle Interactive Dashboards" should be available if all is configured correctly with the integration. That link will open up OBIEE and take the user directly into the dashboards without having to get prompted by the OBIEE login screen.
If you have the BIC2Go image (Dan Vlamis' team, vlamis.com) for Oracle BI 10g you can see this integration's configuration and see it working correctly.
    I hope that helps

    Hi Angus,
Policy Server does not require a specific LDAP schema. During configuration you simply map the LDAP attributes of your schema to the ones that Policy Server supports (e.g., common name, email address, etc).
If you are configuring Policy Server to use an LDAP, it will use the LDAP to authenticate the user (Policy Server does not store the password itself in this case).
If passwords are stored outside of the LDAP (e.g., in a database), it is possible to write a custom authentication provider to authenticate against this source.
    Hope this helps,

  • Service desk integration with 3rd party tool

    Hi all,
I've problems understanding the setup of connecting a 3rd party service desk tool with solman itsm.
So far it's clear that I need to activate and configure the service provider and consumer in soamanager.
The webservice then will be called by the 3rd party tool with corresponding data.
However, according to spro I need to define a value mapping for incoming/outgoing calls.
I do not understand this mapping... the WSDL of webservice ICT_SERVICE_DESK_API contains lots of fields, but in spro -> value mapping I can only define the following fields (which are hard coded in type pool AIICT):
    SAPCategory
    SAPComponent
    SAPDatabase
    SAPFrontend
    SAPIncidentID
    SAPIncidentStatus
    SAPInstNo
    SAPOperatingSystem
    SAPSoftwareComponent

    SAPSoftwareComponentRelease
    SAPSubject
    SAPSystemClient
    SAPSystemID
    SAPSystemType
    SAPUserStatus
    What about attachments, priority etc.?
Will the interface parameters mapped to these ones?
For what purpose do I need to maintain the value mapping?
Can you give me a hint?

  • Integration with MQ 6.0

We have a requirement to integrate Oracle BPM with MQ version 6.0. The trigger point for instance creation would be the messages subscibed from MQ. Please let me know if there is any example showing the integration or any helpful documentation. Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I don't know of any documentation, but here are the steps a friend documented a couple years ago:
The MQ installer makes some changes to the environment variables, so restart Windows to ensure current settings are used.
    1) Start the MQ Queue Manager
To start the queue manager, launch the WebSphere MQ Explorer (Start->Programs->IBM WebSphere MQ->WebShere MQ Explorer). Right-click on the queue manager and select Start:
    2) Enable WebSphere MQ Publish/Subscribe (i.e. JMS Topic) Functionality
WebSphere MQ does not support JMS Topics out-of-the box. To enable this functionality, you'll need to do the following (QM_beaee06 is the name of my queue manager, be sure to use the correct queue manager name for your installation):
REM -- This assumes you've installed in the default MQ directory
    PROMPT> cd C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\bin
REM -- This will check the broker status.  After installation it should be inactive
REM -- IF YOU GET A DIFFERENT MESSAGE, BE SURE THE QUEUE MANAGER IS RUNNING
    PROMPT> dspmqbrk -m QM_beaee06
WebSphere MQ Publish/Subscribe broker for queue manager QM_beaee06 not active.
    REM -- Start the broker
    PROMPT> strmqbrk -m QM_beaee06
WebSphere MQ Publish/Subscribe broker started for queue manager QM_beaee06.
REM -- Now we can verify the broker is running
    PROMPT> dspmqbrk -m QM_beaee06
WebSphere MQ Publish/Subscribe broker for queue manager QM_beaee06 running
REM -- Last, we need to run a WebSphere MQ script to enable publish/subscribe
    PROMPT> runmqsc QM_beaee06 < ..\Java\bin\MQJMS_PSQ.mqsc
    8 MQSC commands read.
No commands have a syntax error.
All valid MQSC commands were processed. 3) Create a Sample Queue and Topic
While you can use WebSphere MQ Explorer to add destinations using a GUI, it's quite easy to do it from the command line:
REM -- This assumes you've installed in the default MQ directory
    PROMPT> cd C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\bin
REM -- This will launch an interactive shell where you'll enter the subsequent commands
REM -- Note that the runmqsc shell does NOT provide any prompts
    PROMPT> runmqsc
      define qlocal (ALBPM.SAMPLE.QUEUE)
      define qlocal (ALBPM.SAMPLE.TOPIC)
end4) Configure the JMS Administered Objects in JNDI
WebSphere MQ makes it very easy to use Sun's File System JNDI repository, so that's what you'll use here (if your client already has a JNDI repository in place, it can be substituted here). Before configuring JNDI, create this directory: C:\JNDI-Directory
You'll also need to edit the JMSAdmin.config configuration file to specify your JNDI connection parameters – you can find this file in the C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\Java\bin directory. To use the file-based repository, ensure the following values are used:
    INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY=com.sun.jndi.fscontext.RefFSContextFactory
PROVIDER_URL=file:/C:/JNDI-DirectoryOnce the JNDI parameters are set, you're ready to launch the MQ's JMS Administration command line interface:
REM -- This assumes you've installed in the default MQ directory
    PROMPT> cd C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\Java\bin
REM -- This will launch an interactive shell where you'll enter the subsequent commands
REM -- Note that the 'hostname' will default to 'localhost' and could have been omitted
    PROMPT> JMSAdmin
    InitCtx> define q(albpmQueue) queue(ALBPM.SAMPLE.QUEUE)
    InitCtx> define qcf(albpmQCF) transport(client) hostname(localhost)
    InitCtx> define t(albpmTopic) topic(ALBPM.SAMPLE.TOPIC)
    InitCtx> define tcf(albpmTCF) transport(client) hostname(localhost)
InitCtx> end 5) Test WebSphere MQ with a Stand-Alone JMS Client
Use a generic JMS client to test. This enables you to quickly test connectivity to WebSphere MQ (or any other JMS broker). Always test integration with back-end services (whether it's a JMS broker or some other type of integration) from outside Oracle BPM before attempting it with the tool -- once it's working ouside Oracle BPM, it's typically trivial to get things working inside Oracle BPM.
    6) Configure Oracle BPM to Use WebSphere MQ
Once you have successfully tested WebSphere MQ (or another JMS provider) using the stand-alone client, you can use the same configuration with Oracle BPM.
    a. Verify the following Java libraries have been added as an external resource:
    com.ibm.mq.jar
    connector.jar
    com.ibm.mqjms.jar
    dhbcore.jar
    fscontext.jar
    providerutil.jar
The Java External Resource should not be marked versionable.
    b. Verify the JNDI Provider is configured with the same configuration as the stand-alone client. The resource type is (somewhat confusingly) a J2EE Application Server and the security principal and credential are both left blank.
    c. Verify the JMS Message Service external resource is correctly configured for the queue. It will lookup the Queue Connection Factory as well as the Queue itself using the JNDI resource previously defined.
    d. Similarly verify another JMS Message Service resource has been configured for the topic. It too will use the same JNDI resource.
    7) Execute the Oracle BPM Process
    a. Add Global Automatic activities (one for the queue and another for the topic) that each create a new work item each time a message is received. The runtime properties settings for these should be respectively:
Global automatic type: "Executes when an event occurs"
    Listener class: "Fuego.Msg.MessageQueueListener"
    Component event types: "anyMsg: Java.Lang.Object"
    and
Global automatic type: "Executes when an event occurs"
    Listener class: "Fuego.Msg.TopicListener"
    Component event types: "anyMsg: Java.Lang.Object"
The logic in the Global Automatic has:
    componentArguments as Any[String]
    componentArguments = [
    "contextFactory" : "com.sun.jndi.ldap.LdapCtxFactory",
    "providerURL" : "ldap://fgdal-test1:389/dc=fuegotech,dc=us",
    "securityPrincipal"  : "cn=root",
    "securityCredentials": "password",
    "factoryName"        : "cn=qcf1",
    "queueName"          : "cn=q1"
logMessage "MQLIstener:: MQListener initialized with this arguments:\n" + componentArguments
        using severity = DEBUG
logMessage "MQ Message Received is " + arg.anyMsg using severity = DEBUG
    processargs as String[String]
    processargs["mqData"]=String(arg.anyMsg)
// this creates the instance in the process passing the message into the input argument "mqData"
result2 = ProcessInstance.create(arguments : processargs, argumentsSetName:"BeginIn")b. Deploy the process and start the server. Login to the Oracle BPM WorkSpace. Add a message to the queue and/or topic and the work item instance should show up in the Inbox immediately.
    Hope this helps,

  • BMC Remedy Integration with AD using a Web Service

    Hi All,
We are running BMC Remedy for ticketing. The goal is to automatically add a computer to a security group once the ticket is approved. So, user raises a ticket with his computer details. The workflow for approval in BMC is already set, once approved the computer
name entered by the user will get added to a Security Group in AD.
We already have built a web service for BMC Remedy for a completely different purpose. My plan is to utilize the same web service in SCORCH. So, SCORCH will check BMC using the WebService and check the state of the new Service Request - Once  the state
is approved it will add the computer to that group - Runbooks Basically.
    Will the above approach work?

    Hi Vik,
Certainly the process you are proposing, off Scorch responding to a BMC Remedy Service Request and doing automated actions is completely do able.  I know many people doing this.
But I think you will struggle to get Scorch to interact with your Web Service.  Although Scorch has an Invoke Web Service Activity which might allow you to talk to you existing service, the functionality of the Activity is quite rigid and this makes
complex interactions with web APIs (like you will need with Remedy) very challenging.
You may even be forced to right your own code and execute via the .Net Script object to make it work.
There is an easier and much quicker way.  We have written a Scorch Integration Pack for BMC Remedy which allows full interaction with BMC Remedy and you can Monitor Remedy for state changes and trigger Runbook execution automatically.  You get
all this functionality for $12,000 including first years support.

  • Lync 2010 Integration with Exchange Online UM

    Hi All,
Recently I have got the project to integrate Lync 2010 with Exchange Online UM, I have gone through the TechNet article but it seems very confusing and things are not very clear, can some please please help me out in this that how to setup this, what ports
do I need to allow from on premises to Exchange online UM.
There are some other questions as well which is not clear from TechNet.
    1. Create SRV record, when I create the SRV record in external dns then in the host providing this service will be access edge fqdn is this correct.
    2. Configure Edge Server for federation (do I need to run this on Edge server or on Lync FE Servers,  I believe on FE SErvers is this correct, if yes then do I need to run the setup again on Edge server by exporting Topology or the replication will
    do the needful)
    3. To Create a hosting provider do I need to run this command on Edge or on Lync FE Servers.
    4. To create a hosting provider you need to run the command
    New-CsHostingProvider -Identity Fabrikam.com -Enabled $True -EnabledSharedAddressSpace $True -HostsOCSUsers $False -ProxyFQDN "proxyserver.fabrikam.com" -IsLocal $False -VerficationLevel UseSourceVerification
now from the above command -Identity what will be the Identity name it can be any thing or it should be some thing related to exchange online um.
for -proxyfqdn what will be the FQDN name here, from where I can get this name
    5. Do I need to add or remove any domain names in office 365 if yes then what domain names it will be
    6. If my sip address is abc.com then do I have to add this domain name in exchange online or do I need to add another domain name how this setup will be
    7. if I will create any new domain in the dns in office 365 then do I need to add this domain name in my external dns if yes then which ip it will be pointed to.
Please guys help me out as I m new to exchange um online and I have never integrated it before.
    Appreciate your help

    1. Yes, create an SRV as per Lync documentation for external access to Edge.
    2. Correct, all config is done on
Front End and will be replicated to the Edge servers. As long as your Edge servers are replicating successfully theere is no need to do a manual import.
    3. Run this PowerShell on the Front End
    4. Identity is a name to identify the hosting provider such as "Exchange Online". See http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg398490.aspx
proxyfqdn for Exchange Online is exap.um.outlook.com
    5. Your SIP domain will need to be added a a vanity domain in Office 365
    6. Same as above, just add as vanity domain
    7. Any added domains need to be setup as per Office 365 documentation, nothing special needs to be done for UM integration.

  • OIM Integration with Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS)

    Hello friends
I have a question about the integration of Oracle Identity Manager with Active Directory which is federated with another external directory for ADFS. My question is:
What considerations should be to contemplate if I have an active directory federated environment when carrying out the integration with Identity Manager?
I use version 9.1.0.2 of Oracle Identity Manager with Microsoft Active Directory Connector User Management 9.1.1.7
    Thanks for the support.

First consideration is that the OIM's target ADFS - in the federated scenario, will that participate as a Service provider or identity provider. I would think identity provider.
Next consideration: What all attributes are required to be played in the SAML assertion to the other end-point? All these attributes must be present and should be provisioned to the AD in this case.
So, OIM should be set up (UDF etc) to provision all those attributes needed in the SAML.
Next consideration: What all scenario to support? IdP initiated or SP initiated? If SP initiated, then process will hv to be defined if a user id does not exist in the AD of the OIM target. Will the request be failed or a in-time provisioning should happen.
    Hope this helps.

  • Best practice for integrating oracle atg with external web service

    Hi All
What is the best practice for integrating oracle atg with external web service? Is it using integration repository or calling the web service directly from the java class using a WS client?
    With Thanks & Regards
    Abhishek

Using Integration Repository might cause performance overhead based on the operation you are doing, I have never used Integration Repository for 3rd Party integration therefore I am not able to make any comment on this.
Calling directly as a Java Client is an easy approach and you can use ATG component framework to support that by making the endpoint, security credentials etc as configurable properties.
