Lync Mobile client signs out - Unknown Error- requires IIS reset on Front End
My Mobile clients are signing out on their own and do not sign back in until I reset the IIS on my front end server. i have a standard edition front end with IIS ARR as my reverse proxy.
Another issue that I have (this is sporadic) is that when a mobile device is connected to internal wifi it fails to sign and and the only way to get it back to work is to turn off wifi , sign in, and then you can turn on wifi and then it can sign in even
if wifi is on. This will work for sometime until the issue comes back again.
I would appreciate if anyone can help me resolve this issue.

Which version of IIS did you use? If you are deploying mobility, we recommend that you use IIS 7.5. The Lync Server Mobility Service installer sets some ASP.NET flags to improve performance. IIS 7.5 is installed by default on Windows Server 2008
R2, and the Mobility Service installer automatically changes the ASP.NET settings. If you use IIS 7.0 on Windows Server 2008, you need to manually change these settings.

I have a very limited understanding of Lync dependency's & how to trace the issue I'm now seeing. Would appreciate any direction or information to assist.
We have Primary & Secondary Pools - both pools seem to be effected at different times. The Mobile Clients will error & not sign in until iisreset
is done on the effected Front End.
This issue has started a few weeks ago. Before that this has happened maybe twice in a year.
A few weeks ago we did move the FileStore location of the Primary Front End only (off a Siffs Application store to the local drive of the Primary Front End)– AV scan
exclusion was set for FileStore location.
Also some Windows 2008R2 patches were applied.
The Deployment Wizard has been rerun incase something was broken by MS updates.
The Window Event log is clean apart from:
WAS events: (1 to 4 are grouped)

contains the error number.

field contains the error number.
5011 - A process serving application pool 'LyncUcwa' exceeded time limits during shut down. The process id was '12520'.
The Windows Process Activation Service failed to generate an application pool config file for application pool 'LyncIntReach'. The error type is '7'. To resolve this issue, please
ensure that the applicationhost.config file is correct and recommit the last configuration changes made. The data field contains the error number.

From What I’ve read SChannel doesn’t seem to be an issue.

Web sites and Web applications depend on the availability of Internet Information Services (IIS) application pools. IIS application pools in turn depend on the Windows Process Activation Service (WAS). If WAS is not running or errors occur
during the startup or shutdown of an application pool, Web sites and Web applications may not be available.
And based on my understanding, if some program works sometime and does not in other times, RAM is the problem.

In my opinion, the error has not completely fixed in KB2967628. After I install the latest November 2014 cumulative
update. I see the following behavior. User A searches for user B. User B never sign in to the Link. There are three fields in the active directory for User B: officePhone, mobilePhone and homePhone (these fields contain different numbers). When searching on
the mobile client (Android/IOS) for user B – as result user A see only mobile number. If User B At least once will go to Link (sign in) when his search will work, (find officePhone). If User B will change, the privacy settings for user A is in the search will
be displayed homePhone field.
On the Desktop client,
I can find all the fields without those actions performed in the example. If I make a request
to the service UCWA manually like this (below

Can't send im to lync mobile client after a period of chating
Thanks for your help first.
I'm setting Lync 2013 server, all internal lan function are working fine, except mobile client.
I've setup edge, reverse proxy (using IIS), FE, BE server.
For IM between between desktop lync client, it is working fine.
For IM between mobile lync client and mobile client with desktop lync cleint, I found the following issue:
- between mobile lync client and lync desktop client: The IM function is working sent between both party, no matter it is initial send from mobile or desktop client, but after a random period of time, may be 5 mins or 7 mins or 10 mins, the desktop client
will not able to send IM to the mobile client but the mobile client still able to send IM to desktop client.
- for between lync mobile client
the issue as above.
- between desktop lync client
no such issue found
I've trouble shoot this issue a lot but still can't the root cause?
Do you have any idea?

Would you please tell us which edition of mobile did you use (Android, IOS or Windows Phone)?
As IPhone and Windows Phone need push notification function but Android Phone doesn’t need.
If possible, you can test with two Android Phone to check if the issue happen with push notification function.
From your description above, it seems that you use 3G network on mobile to connect Lync mobile client. Please check if the issue cause by IP address of mobile, you can change network to a WIFI to have a test.
Also, please double check if the needed ports open as Edwin provided above.

Has worked forever. Used it the other day.
Tried tonight and received the above message.
Unplugged it, waited about 20 seconds, then
Restarted it. Same results. Comes with an "ok"

Have had my Apple TV for over a year on the same iTunes account, working flawlessly. All of a sudden today, I get random:
Could Not Sign In
Unknown error.
Messages.
Restart - nada. Power interrupt - nada.
Log off and try to log back in in settings: same message every time now.
Help!Sort of. I did a full restore from settings, which resets it to factory settings, but with the latest software update. Then had to set it up like new, and re-login or register apps like MLB, Netflix, Hulu, etc. Took over an hour, but the problem hasn't been back since. Kind of sad that no one replies on these forums, including Apple support. I'm full Apple technology ecosystem in my home, but have started to shop other devices now after this experience. Technology issues I can take. Lack of support, not so much.

I'm trying to deploy a reverse proxy for mobile and external users, but I am having issues with the mobile client for android. It keeps saying "an unknown error occurred". Please try again.
I've got the log zip file outputted by the client here if someone could have a look and point me in the right direction? I've set
up server farms for the webservices, meet, and dialin.
Desktop clients can log in without any issue btw.

When I sign my apple Id in it says could not sign in, unknown error
When I try to sign into my iPad with my apple ID it comes up with "Could not sign in. Unknown error" how do I sign in
I was able to figure it out. All you do is:
Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings
Now this the device will reset.
Log in>Settings>ITunes and App Store>Sign In

Can't sign in - Unknown Error 400
For the last few days I've been unable to sign in. I get the following message:
"We could not complete your Music Store request. An unknown error occurred (400).
There was an error in the music store. Please try again later."
Disturbingly, if I use the "Forgot Password?" button, Safari displays the following page:

This error indicates that an invalid request was received."
Something very screwy is going on!
I am using iTunes v6.02 under Mac OS X 10.4.4. I've reinstalled iTunes, switched off my firewall, checked my routers firewall.
I have no problems using any other internet services: http, https (since iTunes uses these ports).

I must have done something wrong the last time I removed the cookies. The only thing I did differently this time was quitting Safari before starting up iTunes. But after cookie removal the darn thing suddenly lets me sign in again.
But I wonder why cookie problems suddenly turn up out of the blue after many blissful months of iTMS? Perhaps a case of a corrupt cookie? Maybe whatever Apple thought they fixed in iTunes 4.9 has reared its ugly head again in 6.02!

SGD (Tarantella) 4.0.903: Client Drive Mapping: Unknown Error 64

Environment: SDG Server on SUSE 9 Enterprise
Windows Server 2003 SP1 (application server) with enhancement module installed.
I have the folowing issue with the SDG: The ClientDriveMapping Feature worked some time ago. But from one day to another it stopped working.
I tried all advices mentioned in the Troubleshooting Guid from the docs.
All Services seem to work.
If I use the ttatdm.exe tool on the W2k3 Server for debugging, I can see that it tries to map all of the client drives but fails with <Unknown Error 64>.
Any ideas are welcome...

CheersI experienced this as well and fixed this by changing firewall settings (fw between sgd and w2k3 appserver)
Do you have a firewall (or other device) between sgd and w2k server.
If a intermediate device responds somehow on port 445 to the w2k3 server then it will try to use the wrong protocol (by default) to map the sgd drives. sgd cdm only uses port 137/139 to show drives to their clients.

ITunes sign in "Unknown Error" on my Mac only.
I get the "Unknown Error" in iTunes only. My password works on all other devices. Then when I try to sign in iTunes more than 3 times, I end up having to reset password again. This is only a problem with iTunes on my Mac, not iphone or ipad.
I received this email from Apple and this corrected the problem for me... I only had to reset the iTunes cache
1) Open iTunes
2) At the top menu, click File > Preferences (iTunes > Preferences on a Mac)
3) In the Preferences menu, click the Advanced tab
4) In the Advanced menu, you should see a button that says "Reset Cache". Please click this button. -

I have just got an iPhone 5 - whenever I try to log in to the App Store, I carefully put in the correct password and I get a message which states "Could not sign in - An unknown error has occured".

Thanks for that, but actually you can open a video clip with FCP "Open with ... FCP", have ben doing that for years, as well as import and dragging etc.
Still nor resolved issue, FCP opens, appears in
the tool bar, but no canvas, library etc etc, very weird.
Have uninstalled, re-installed, same problem. And have a stack of work to do.
