Lync Moble not joining meetings on Android HTC One S

Does anyone know if the HTC One S is incompatible with Lync Mobile? I can initiate calls to my Lync contacts and the Lync server will call my phone but i cannot get the same functionality when joining a meeting.

I have the same issue going on and when I send the logs and attempt to extract them I get "unsupported compression method” - meaning I cannot see what may be in the logs
so I cannot post them in this forum.
Another thing worth mentioning, is 1-click meeting join used to work on my Android phone so somewhere along the line within the last 2 months something has changed. I too have
uninstalled and re-installed the Lync app. Lync works fine by itself, calendar works fine by itself but when I click on the lync meeting join it no longer auto joins and calls me.
I testing this on another person's phone (the same phone model, same android version, same lync app version) and was able to use the 1-click meeting join successfully.
Our Lync admin has no idea what to look for and I'm out of ideas of what to chase on my phone as well.

How can I change the default video conversion applied when I copy an AVI file from my PC to my Android HTC One M8 phone?

Here's the situation...
I have an Android HTC One M8 phone which I connect via USB cable to my PC, then I use Windows Explorer to drag and drop an AVI file from my PC onto a target folder on the phone. When I would do this after I had first purchased my phone a message box
would come up with the heading "Convert and Copy" and ask me "Do you want to convert <filename> before it's copied to your device?" and give me the options "Yes, convert and copy (recommended)" or "No, just
copy Your file will be copied, but might not play on your device."
If I chose to convert it converted the file to MP4. No problem, that's what I wanted.
The problem I now have is that after doing some work with other video applications a while ago where I was outputting WMV files I now find that the default conversion for the above described copy from PC to Android phone now converts files to WMV.
I simply want it to go back to converting video files copied to my phone as MP4, but I can't seem to find where I can set this!
It appears that the copy/conversion process in Explorer is being handled in the "Portable Devices Shell Extension" dll - WPDSHEXT.DLL
Can anyone tell me what I need to do to set the default video conversion back to MP4 ???

I actually had no clue what the core problem was caused by. So it's Windows itself...that helps some.
I'll resubmit there. It might actually have saved time for it to simply have been moved to there instead of off-topic, though I suppose you have to follow protocol.

Does somebody knows how to sync Outlook 2011, including Notes, in iMac OS X Maveriks to a htc One-M8 (Android)?

For years i had a PC and I sync my Outlook (including my valuable Notes) with my iPhone and it worked well. I made changes in opposite directions: I switched to an Android htc One-M8 ang at the same time I got tired of my PC and decided to get to something more reliable, faster, less promt to get viruses and adware, etc. ang got this new iMac with OS X Maveriks. I'm very hapy with both the phone and the iMac but frustrated I can't sync. It seems I expend a good part of my day trying to search for an answer. Can somebody help with a suggestion? Thanks.

Mail.app has a +Import Mailbox+ command, but there is no option for Outlook; the available options are the popular Mac OS X email applications.
I have not done it myself, but this Help doc suggests having the email program you use now export your mailboxes in "mbox" format. Then, use that +Import Mailbox+ command in Mail.app on those files.

Did you install the latest version of Lync for Android ?
The current version of Lync for Android is
5.5.3.8935.
I don’t test it on M8, but on other Android 5.0 devices it works fine.

Lync on Mac 10.8 fails to join meetings

Hello all,
I'm facing an issue since upgrading from OS X 10.6 to 10.8 that the Lync client 14.0.2 frequently fails to join meetings. If I retry enough times, usually I'm able to finally join. I rely on Lync meetings multiple times every day so this is a big issue for
me. Here's the error message I get:
"Unable to connect. Try connecting to the online meeting by using the web browser that is currently open."
Any ideas?

Thanks Rusty. It bothers me that this problem has existed for so long now.
If you all are not aware there is a fully functioning "workaround." Using lync, call into the meeting as if you were calling from into a regular concall, then put in the meeting pin. As soon as it realizes you are on lync the
meeting will be setup and it works fully, but it is really annoying to have to do each time.
I did install 14.0.4 as well today, no immediate change in behavior for me. Tried changing to external only manual sip/tls and it seems to be working in terms of creating meetings, but only if no others have joined at the time I create it. Joining
existing meetings does not work, like before you connect to the meeting, but the phone shows as a * (unconnected or issue I believe) and sharing sessions will not reliably start. After a minute, lync will show a random person from the meeting as calling
you. Answering does not join you to the conference.
So Microsoft still has some work to do to resolve this issue.
As for the rest with the keychain issues. Yep, the assigned one is expired from the outset. I went to a 10.7 system and checked, it was also set as expired there, so I'm not sure it matters but who knows. I've also tried allowing all certs
etc many times, but behavior was unreliable at best. The workaround above is the only thing that always works.

just purchased and received the new htc one...was using a samsung galaxy s for a few months before my contract ran out...my original nokia lumia 920 died and I reactivated the galaxy....now I have the text messages from october and earlier but I can't seem to get the 3 months of text messages that are on the android.....there is no cloud or transfer app (by verizon) for the new phone...only the old galaxy has the apps...go figure, I could get the app for my old phone but not the new phone...lol

Transfer My Data doesn't work to grab them from your Android phone? That bites... I thought that was a fairly new app for Windows Phone that was supposed to make it easier. I had to take old texts and paste them into Word to upgrade from Windows 7.8 to Windows 8. Tedious, but when you gotta save em... Shoot, there was one conversation that was so long, I just broke out the video camera and started scrolling them on the phone so I could get them later. Yea, I was that intent on getting them.

My android HTC G2 HD video plays fine in Windows media player, windows vlc player and Mac OSX Quick time player.
Primer Pro CS5 tears the video after import.

Well, sort of--this setting actually only applies to preview. It doesn't change or set anything on the clips themselves. While it will (should) remain active for this particular project, it might not for the next new project; however, you know where to look now

Talk21 email not working on my Android phone

For over a week now I've been unable to receive any of my talk21 emails on my Android (HTC Desire Z) phone. I can still send emails however. I have been into the Vodafone shop twice and they've tried everything they can think of and I've even done a factory reset (and lost all my apps) and it still isn't working. Vodafone says it must therefore be a problem with my email/BT and it is possibly because they are migrating their server, and they told me to ring BT and ask this question. After about ten minutes of being passed from pillar to post, I finally got someone who told me no, they are not migrating their servers, they do not know of any reason why I am having this problem, and they can try to fix it for a £30 fee. I don't think that's really fair!
I have deleted and reactivated by email account on my phone several times, I definitely have the right POP/server/ login details etc but it just won't show any incoming emails. Is anyone else having a problem like this and does anyone know what I can do? Or does anyone have a phone number for BT where I won't go through to their standard call centre and waste 20 minutes trying to explain the problem to someone who doesn't seem to understand what I'm talking about?

Yeah after I posted I found out that most of the carriers had outages starting yesterday afternoon. But it was resolved late last night and emails started sporadically coming in for people, then it started up normally again

As an iPhone user I'm not too familiar with Android, however I have had a browse and came across a great article which explains in detail How to Use Your Android Phone as a Portable WiFi Hotspot
Turn on the Portable WiFi Hotspot:
Go to the Settings screen on your Android phone. You can get there by pressing the menu button on your device when you're on the home screen, then tapping "Settings".
At the Settings screen, tap the "Wireless & networks" option.
You should see an option for "Portable Wi-Fi hotspot". Click the check mark beside it to turn on the hotspot and your phone will start acting like a wireless access point. (You should see a message in the notification bar when it's activated.)
To adjust and check the settings for the hotspot, tap the aptly named "Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings" option. You'll need to do this if you don't know the default password that will be created for your hotspot so you can make a note of it for connecting your other devices.
You can change the default password, security level, router name (SSID), and also manage users connected wirelessly to your phone in the Wi-Fi hotspot settings.
Now your Hotspot is set up, go to your Macs Wireless Settings, you should be able to see your Android device listen in the available networks. Enter the password which you can edit in the 'Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings' to connect and you're all set!
Tips and Considerations:
Make sure you turn off the Wi-Fi hotspot feature when you no longer need shared Internet access from the other devices, since this can drain your cell phone's battery significantly.
By default, the portable Wi-Fi hotspot will most likely be set up with WPA2 security and a generic password. If you're using this feature in a public place or concerned about hackers trying to intercept your data, it's best to change the password to something else before broadcasting your signal.
Keep in mind again that your cell phone company might charge extra for this feature and/or have data restrictions on its usage, so make sure you check your plan or with your carrier for more information.

I am using Lync 2010 with HTC One V (Andriod 4.0). Although application is working fine but not able to Sign Out and Search contacts. As per the design of HTC One V it doesn't have Menu option to access Search and Sign Out Options. Please advise.

Please download the latest version of Lync 2010 and install it again. Please check if it is the cause the Mobile can not show all the lync client interface and menu.

HTC One. Flash Player not supported by device?

Hi I've just got a HTC One which comes pre loaded with flash player 11. However when I go to use Flash on a website it comes up with either you need to download flash or, plug in not supported? When I check to see if there are any updates there are non. I can't uninstall as it's a system app on the phone. When I check on the applications section of settings it shows the app as 0mb which seems strange but might be due to it being pre loaded? What can I do? Any ideas anyone?

When I open firefox android, my wifi and mobile data switch off on HTC one M7

I cannot surf the net with firefox on my HTC one M7 as of this week.
Every time I open the browser, it closes my wifi and mobile data, meaning I get the error 'server not found'
i tried removing it and all its add ons, then re-installing...

It is a two stage update. First update just preps the phone .. not sure what it does really.. most likely removes some Verizon changes to make the real upgrade work correctly. Connect to wifi and check for the update.

I am getting below issue while compiling rpd.
Logical Dimension Table Dim-XX has a source xx_aa that does not join to any fact source.
Let me describe situation here.
In physical layer , i have one xx_v table . there is no join condition physical layer. But in BMM layer we have created two logical tables for single xx_v table and providing join in bmm layer. When am compiling it i'm getting an error.
The one which i have using current rpd, same rpd in production with out any warnings(Logical Dimension Table Dim-XX has a source xx_aa that does not join to any fact source) and they don't have any logical level mapping in content tab. But i am using same rpd in dev instance getting warnings.

Please find the below warning here and we don't have an hierarchy for MTL_SYSTE_ITEMS_B
[39008] Logical dimension table Mtl System Items B has a source MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS_B that does not join to any fact source.
I am getting this in Dev instance only but not in Production. But one rpd can be used in dev and production instances.
