Lync option to be disabled

Dear colleagues,
I have tried disabling the option menus in Lync 2013 client; having looked for, I can't find forbidding our endusers to make changes to the Lync's any options.
If you have any ideas, please advice.

This is not possible!
One funtastic Feature in Lync is, that a user can configure most of the Features by themself, like call forward, team call, delegation.
You can only enable/disable some Features through inband policies, but not the complete Option menue.

Your only bet would be checking with your carrier to see if they have a trade-in program. They will usually evaluate the phone for any damage and therefore an iPhone with a chip in the back most likely won't get much of a trade-in value.

Edit Page options in ribbon disabled after applying modified Seattle Master Page

Hi,
I'm working on a modified version of the Seattle.master page, and I have an odd permissions issue that is seen when my user (a farm admin) tries to edit a page on the site. On some pages, clicking Edit Page doesn't do anything at all. On others, I've been
able to go into edit mode but not do anything with the Edit options afterward. In this scenario, most or all of the useful edit options are disabled, and I cannot use Save, Checkout, Discard the Checkout, Change the Page Layout, etc...
Checking the JavaScript console in IE reveals this JS error that I don't see in the OOTB Seattle:
SCRIPT5007: Unable to set value of the property 'href': object is null or undefined

As you can see, I have moved the Ribbon (div#ms-designer-ribbon) from its fixed position outside of the div#s4-workspace to inside of the div#s4-bodyContainer so that it scrolls with the page. Placing the ribbon inside div#s4-bodyContainer shouldn't be an issue,
as I've made a Design Manager Master Page in the past and placed the ribbon there as well without issue.
Does anyone know how I can get this modified Seattle master page to allow editing?

Is there any custom JavaScript in it, sometimes error may occur due to some typo.
Suppose that we can do the customization like this: With a copied master page, we can apply a part of the change first, then check it in the browser to make sure it can work without affecting the OOTB features. Then apply other parts one by one with immediate
examinations...
By doing this, it would be easier to find out which step in your whole customization would cause the issue.

How do I disable the Hibernation feature ?
The box 'Enable Hibernation' is ticked and greyed so I cannot untick it !
I don't use this feature and would like to delete the file hiberfil.sys which is over 1GB.
I understand that by disabling Hibernation this file should delete. I read about it here:

I presume the Toshiba Power saver utility was installed on your system.
In such case the Windows own power options are disabled and the TPS controls the hibernation and standby mode.
You can switch back to the window power mode in the control panel -> power options.
There you have to choose to another power scheme as the Toshiba power saver.
Otherwise you can remove the TPS from the system!
However, in my opinion the hiberfil.sys has no bad influence on the system and it's really not necessary to delete this file.
On my system the file size was never ever 1GB.

Option dragging regions disables macbook pro keyboard.

when option dragging to copy regions i hear a rapid clicking and then my macbook pro keyboard is disabled and i must restart to enable them? macbook pro is 10.6.8. snow leopard. logic pro is current. is this a bug or am i not doing something correctly.

This sounds like you have might have turned on one of the "accessibility' features of OS X..
or...
Did you install something else just prior to this problem occuring? It could well be the cause of the issue if you did so.....

Why can't we simply have an option to enable/disable Javascript on sites again in the settings for Firefox 27? Suddenly my Gmail attachments won't open. Gmail.

Suddenly my Gmail attachments have stopped opening, and I receive the message: JavaScript must be enabled in order for you to use Gmail in standard view. However, it seems JavaScript is either disabled or not supported by your browser. To use standard view, enable JavaScript by changing your browser options, then try again.
I found a Mozilla support thread where it was explained that Javascript has been turned off for a while in FF. OK. Then there was a complicated answer about how you could still turn it back on by typing in a config code into the address bar. What? Or, you could download an extension to do that for you. Why?
Please-- if you really feel like users can't be trusted, and Javascript must be turned off, at least bring back the ability to enable/disable Javascript on a per site basis in options, without having to know code. It's Gmail.

There is nothing on that thread that says Javascript is turned off by default. to quote:
"In Firefox 23, as part of an effort to simplify the Firefox options set and protect users from unintentially damaging their Firefox, the option to disable JavaScript was removed from the Firefox Options window.
However, the option to disable JavaScript was not removed from Firefox entirely. You can still access it from about:config or by installing an add-on. "
The UI checkbox to disable Javascript was removed, but the option still exists in about:config (which isn't code btw, it's just preferences), nor was Javascript turned off by default, in fact the opposite is true, it is enabled by default with the option to disable it made a little more difficult to find, as only advanced users need to disable Javascript.

BIOS option to "permanently disable" Computrace

Hi,
In the T500 BIOS Setup is the option:
Security:Computrace: Computrace Module Activation
with 3 possible values:
Enabled (default?)
Disabled
Permanently Disabled
I think I understand how Computrace BIOS works: on boot the BIOS checks and makes sure the necessary drivers/services are present in the OS filesystem before the supported OS boots. The Computrace service then runs "hidden" in the OS and periodically phones home.
What I'd like to know is what happens if I select the BIOS option "Permanently Disabled". Is the Computrace checker/loader deleted from the BIOS? Is it possible to ever turn Computrace back on at a later date, perhaps by flashing the BIOS?

Update 8.0. Seem like option buttons are disabled. Like a send button. Also on my Ipad it won't oreintate. It is stuck on vertical

Option buttons seem to be disable. I was trying to rate an app so I typed my rating and tried to hit send. I kept tapping on send and it wouldn't do any thing.

Yeah, I know I can restore it, but I might as well go ahead and try. I just finished a backup for icloud and itunes to make sure, I'll go ahead and restore it and set it up as new and see how that works. Seems like I have no other options at this point, I'd still like to know what they did with the Download tab in itunes store, if they removed it or if I'm just overlooking it.

PSE7 - Can the 'JPEG Options' window be disabled?

I'm running PSE7.
When doing a save of a JPEG file I always get the JPEG Options window where
I can set the compression level, etc. Once I have that set like I want it, is
there a way that I can stop that window from popping up until I make
some change to re-enable it?

Unfortunately, PSE doesn't provide any way of setting those defaults. I use a program Quick Macros 2 to record a sequence of keystrokes (a "keyboard macro"), which I can invoke using a single function key. For example, I have a macro that changes the bit depth from 16 to 8 and then saves as a JPEG.

Cannot remove add-ons anymore... only option is to disable them now.

As the question states.. with firefox 5.0, I'm no longer able to uninstall/remove addon-ons or extensions.... only disable them... then re-enable if I choose too. If an add-on is causing stability issues, I want it off my computer completely.... not just disabled.

Sorry, I had not noticed that the images in those links have not be updated for Firefox 4 and 5. In Firefox 4 and 5 the Add-ons open in a tab display instead of a separate small window as in prior versions. Along the left side are categories (Extensions, Appearance (formerly Themes), and Plugins).
Those must be Extensions as they do not show in your Plugins reported with your post.

Guided Access Rotates Screen 90 Degrees when Setting Options, Making Selected Disabled Areas Inaccurate

When I press the home button three times to bring up the Guided Access settings, the screen rotates 90 degress and crops some of the page, so selecting the disabled areas on the screen/page is inaccurate once I start Guideed Access. How do I fix this?

Hi. No, I haven't been able to resolve the issue. I called Apple's technical support and they had me restore the iPad to factory default settings, which did not fix the issue. Next, they suggested that I take the iPad into an Apple Store and exchange it for a new one, which I did. This also did not fix the issue. The people at the Genuis Bar at the Apple Store determined that there is a bug with the current version of the iPad software, since every iPad we tried in the store behaved the same way. They said they would report the bug to Apple's technical support and hopefully it would be addressed in a future release of iOS for the iPad.

Is it possible to disable 'Lync 2013' options inside of Outlook 2010? If so, how?

I would like to disable/eliminate everything Lync 2013 related inside of my Outlook 2010. I want to disassociate all its relations with Outlook, but keep it everywhere else.
More specifically, in Outlook, I'd like to keep the original (pre-Lync) option of knowing where persons are (i.e. 'Free', 'Busy until 4:00pm', etc). This option is shown when you open a new email, add a recipient, and hover over their name. It would
normally say things like 'Busy until 4:00pm' or 'Free'. Now it just says their Lync location (ex. 'Presence Unknown' since most of the company does not have Lync), and I need it to go back to the original setting.
I also dislike the 'Frequent Contacts' option, so if that could go away, that'd be great.
Things I've already tried so far:
In Outlook: Disabling the Outlook Lync Add-in 'Lync Meeting Add-in'
In Lync:
Personal/Personal Information Manager - Changing drop-down to NONE (from Microsoft Exchange or Microsoft Outlook)
Personal/Location - Unchecking 'Share my location info with other programs I use'
Contacts List - Unchecking 'Contact Status'

Outlook reads the following registry key in order to display presence information within Outlook.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IM Providers
REG_SZ: DefaultIMApp
The default value is “Lync”, please delete
“Lync” and restart outlook.

JPopupMenu for a JTree, enabling and disabling options

Hi all.
I'm trying to activate/deactivate some JMenuItem options for a JPopupMenu launched for a JTree object.
Let's say, depending on "some state", I want some options in the JPopupMenu (the JMenuItems) should be enabled or disabled, and change whenever that state changes.
I'm trying to activate this feature with "((JMenuItem) item).setEnabled(true)" but the PopupMenu option is still disabled.
Can some one help me, please?

Lync 2013 user appears twice in Lync, once with all features, a second time with only the option to make a voice call

I'm using 15.0.4551.1007.
A user appears twice in my contact search but in the second instance he has a phone icon and I can only make a video call to the user.
His contact card only shows a phone number in 'Other'. The number appears in his other contact card but not in the same format.
I suspected he is somewhere in my contacts but a search found nothing. He's not listed twice in the Exchange GAL either.
Where can Lync be getting this information? it doesn't happen to every user and he's enabled the same way as everybody else in Lync.

Open Lync option, click Personal tab. Choose None under Personal information manager.
Then sign out and sign in to check if you can see the contact twice for the specific user.
Please also check if other users have this issue. If they do have, the problem locates on the address book server or Active Directory.
If only you have this problem, try to delete the Lync cached file for you user.
