Lync Server 2010 Control Panel - "navigation to the webpage was canceled"

Hi All,
I just installed Lync Server 2010. The SQL 2008 is installed on a separate box and both servers are on Windows 2008 R2.
However, when I try to start the "Lync Server 2010 Control Panel"  i get a blank page with the following message "Navigation to the webpage was canceled"
The Installation had no errors and went well. But I did have one problem in the Topology Builder where is asked to create a File Share and asked for FQDN and File Share. I entered "Server1.domain.com" and File Share "Poolshare" but it did
not like it and error with a red cross saying..
"FQDN Server1.domain.com is already used in this topology"
So in the end I just change it to "Server1" then published and ran the installation sucessfully and all services are started OK
Any idea? could it be that the file share is not using FQDN?
Thanks
ECL

I have reveiwed this topic but have not been able to fing my answer. I am getting the same result when attempting to connect to the Lync Control Panel and the webpage saying "navigation was canceled..". Here are the details, any assistance is greatly
appreciated:
I have an existing OCS 2007 R2 server setup in the domain. My domain is company.CORP. It is a Standard Edition server for IM and Presence only. There is an Edge server as well and I have PIC enabled. My sipinternaltls SRV record to the current SE Front End.
All works great. There is a SIP.company.com record in the domain too. I am standing up LYNC 2010 environment on HyperV and ran topology builder twice because I had to fix a name. (I see in Mac's comment that I need to run step2 again. Why is that?)
My Share is on the HyperV server that is hosting the Front End server but they are completely different servernames. My topology published successfully and create some data in the File Share and the Backend DB was created and populated with tables. The certificates
were successfully applied and all services started right up. The latest version of Silverlight was installed and the server was rebooted. Still the darn White Page with 'Navigation to the webpage was canceled'.
I am able to go into IIS and launch the Control Panel successfully by browsing on the "cscp" directory for the Lync Server Internal Web Site. I can also connect to the Control Panel by using the
httpS://admin.company.com/cscp but I have to put  'cscp ' in the path. I cannot browse AD using the Control Panel to find my TestLyncUser1 account but I can find the account, and successfully enable
the account, using the Lync Management Shell. The account was enables and was able to successfully login to the Lync FE server (manually, since the SRV record point to OCS).
This is where I am stuck. Why won't it launch from the Programs File Tool and why do I have to designate the CSCP in the URL? I am Not sure why I couldn't browse AD successfully in the Control Panel yet I could with Powershell. I will begin troubleshooting
that issue next. Could it be because my sip.company.com record points to a different OCS Pool? Or my SRV internaltls record points to the OCS Pool? Microsoft supports standing up the two environments side-by-side and migrating but maybe I am missing something.
Any ideas anyone?
I want to add that I will be having a FE Pool and have named and published my second FE but I have not installed it. The Pool VIP is created in DNS and only pointing to FE1 right now.

  • Microsoft Lync Server 2013 Control Panel "Navigation to the webpage was canceled"

i'm facing this issue on the last 2 days.My Lync server 2013 was seted up a month ago and everything went fine on the installation.
    Lync server 2013 on Windows 2008R2 SP1.
I could login to the Control Panel (using domain administrator credentials), create users (including myself) manage clients etc.
i didn't login to Lync server for at least a week, beacause i didin't have any other user to add. When time came to add a new user to Lync, i got this error whenever i try to open Control Panel.
i didn't change anything during this time, so i'm really confused by this.
i've checked everything from the start and all seem to be in place.
i also can't open the admin page from the local host as i get an error
    HTTP error 403.4 - Fobidden.
i tried also to create new certificates for Lync server, but issue remains.
Also, any solutions i've read for this problem doesn't work as everything is placed correct as other users suggest.
Can anyone please help me further?
    Cheers,
    Elias

Ok I had the same problem, I missconfigured the admin simple url in topology builder (TB) which I fixed.  Also the default certificate in the FE server did not have a SAN entry for the "admin" simple url (which was an error).
So I corrected the admin address in TB republised it, redid step two on the FE, reissued adn replaced the old cert.  The new cert had the corrected admin simple url.  Checked IIS on the server and made sure that the internal web server had the
    right certificate, restarted IIS.
The default Lync control pannel still did not come up, I rebooted the server, the closest I got was being prompt for my credential which it did not accept.
Finally control pannel came up with https://localhost/cscp but I got prompted becuase of a certificate missmatch:
but it still worked!!! Very very wierd.  I have not changed CA servers.  I am interested about why this happened....

  • Navigation to webpage was canceled when opening Microsoft Lync Server 2010 Control Panel

Ok, yes I know there are many threads with similar titles, but my problem is different in that it doesn't happen every time.
The first time I access the Control Panel I get the error:
"Navigation to the webpage was canceled
    What you can try:
    Refresh the Page"
Clicking Refresh the Page works, kind of.  It brings up the admin console, but I get the spinning lights, which eventually resolves to an error at the top of the page that reads: "An operation failed.  Network communication failed.  Verify
    your connection and try again."
Then if I click to other parts, things seem to be fine for the most part, I sometimes see the Network error, and often it is slow.
Port 443 is running through an HLB and this is setup exactly like my other Lync cluster, which doesn't have this issue.  Internal web services URL is lynccontent and points to HLB VIP.  Admin redirect is lyncadmin and points to HLB VIP.
Going to the /cscp page of each FE or of the pool from IE works every time, but lyncadmin seems to have the same issue (at least on FE1).
    Any thoughts?

    Hi,
    Could you perform the followings:
Make sure there're no duplicate records in the DNS Servers
Flush your DNS Cache at the Server & Client
Refresh any DNS Cache at the HLB (if any)
When the error appears, right click on the console and provide a screenshot on this
If you suspect that FE1 is the culprit, had you tried turning it off and monitor the situation?
    Thanks!

  • Navigation to the webpage was cancelled Solution Manager 4

    Hi Experts,
I am accessing Solution Manager, We have servers configured on it
The problem I am getting is
DSWP - When I click on any server it says NAVIGATION TO THE WEBPAGE WAS CANCELLED.
RFC Connections and SLD Connecitions are fine
    Please let me know.
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi Vikran,
I think you are not using the correct FQDN, could you kindly fix it?
Please look at note 654982, for the requirement of FQDN. After you have
set it, please kindly restart the Solman system and make sure it is
loaded correctly. (run report RSPFPAR to double check.)
The FQDN mean (Full Qualified Doman Name), which is set in parameter of
    the instance profile icm/host_name_full
-please make sure All PCs including solman server itself can ping the
FQDN, and the port 8001 is not blocked
    - Then make sure the browser in client PC can be load the URL as per
below. (set proxy, network ports, etc correctly, this you have to ask
    your network colleague)
    http://<FQDN>:8001/sap/bc/solman/defaultUser/graphic/solmangraphic.htm?
    for e.g. my test system

    Hi ,
I hope you are using IE8 browser. This error usually comes when we go from secure to non-secure environment.
i.e. from HTTPS to HTTP .
To resolve this issue you can you below options  :
    1. Change the IE setting which will allow the navigation from secure to non-secure environment.
    2. Use same protocol either HTTP or HTTPS (Basis  Team will help you in this )
    3. Use correct SSL certificate  (Basis  Team will help you in this)
The First option is very easy , you just need to change the IE setting , Which is explained in

  • Lync server 2010 control panel SoapException error

We had a multi-site installation of Lync 2010 up (2 FE servers, 2 back-end SQL servers, 1 director, 1 Group Chat) and running when suddenly (and no one has any explanation of what happened, of course) no one can logon the Control Panel.  Those in the
CsAdministrator group are flat out denied (not an RBAC denial) and new users added to the group received a SoapException (CS2001, CS2008) and a long, drawn-out explanation of why it failed:
An operation failed. System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was not able to process request.  System.InvalidOperationException: Unable to generate a temporary class (result=1)  Error CS2001: source file "c:\windows\temp\xxxx.cs"
could not be found  error CS2008: no inputs specified
At the same time, the Group Expansion is also no longer working and the Group Chat Lookup Service refuses to stay running (although I'm not sure this ever worked, given the other issues)...   I did find some blogs/articles that mention something
about the permissions on the C:\windows\temp folder for other products (FIM, Visual Studio) but not for Lync.  The installation is still in beta testing, so a complete re-do isn't beyond the scope of the install... just something I would rather avoid
    if possible.
    Suggestion? ideas? questions??
    Thanks for the pointers...
    Mike

  • OOB Navigation to the webpage was cancelled

    Hi
    I have the following scenario:
I wrote a silverlight app that I host on my dev server. when you browse to the website that I host, my silverlight app launches and everything is fine. However, when I run it out of browser, I get the following error:
    ftp://ftp.tut.ac.za/uploads/jpg kak.jpg
on application startup. It doesn't even try to load any of my content
Now, the weird thing about it is that this only happens on my friend's pc who is running win7. I've tested the app on other win7 and xp machines and the OOB works fine, its just his pc that has this error.
Now I've played around with all his IE security settings and disabled all of them but to no avail. I've reset IE's security to factory and still no cigar. I've also installed Firecox but still nothing. His internet connection is on permanently, so I dont
see why it would give such an error. I've also tried disabling the firewall. I'm pretty much ready to tell him to format, but then if I get this error again from one of my clients then I still wont know what the cause is.
As far as I'm concerned this must be a security thing, but then again, I've been wrong before...
has anybody seen this behaviour before? As I said , this only happens OOB, and his silverlight is updated.

So, your App is fine. The problem is on your friend's PC.
Yes, my app works fine, its just his pc that gives this error
Are these all error message or there are more? Need more information. Thanks.
Yup, unfortunately that is all I get. I've reinstalled silverlight many times and still the same issue. I installed the developer runtime aswell to see if I get any meaningfull exceptions but atlas, it just gave a general exception at startup( cant remember
the full trace, I just remember it crashed at app startup. Will see if I can get it again)
    Futher note:
When I had firefox as the default browser and launched my app, a "save file" dialog would popup. This popup would then want to save index.html. After I then saved the file, the app would display the error msg seen in the jpg. I opened the "index.html" that
popped up in the dialog in a notepad and it would be my app homepage.
So it is able to retrieve the homepage of my app, yet be unable to display it. And this only happens on his pc. I have tested it on other pc's without fail
