please verify your computer name while you creating FQDN pool FQDN of Server name
example
computer name
is server1
domain name is abc.ae
so,
your FQDN pool name will be server1.abc.ae

My company is splitting in two, so we're migrating half of our systems and servers to a new domain. I have an application that uses AppFabric. We have 3 Windows servers running AppFabric, each talking to a SQL server for the AppFabric cluster service.
On the initial domain, everything was working fine. AppFabric service is running under a service account we'll call DOMAIN1\svc_acct that is the dbo on the AppFabric database. The service account is a local admin on all the boxes. Permissions are all working
    fine.
I've migrating the servers to the new domain and it won't work anymore.
Now I'm using DOMAIN2\svc_acct that is the dbo on the database again. The exact same app servers have moved to the new domain and once again that service account is a local admin on all the boxes. But AppFabric won't work. I migrated the boxes back to the initial
domain and it worked again. I migrated it back to the new domain, and it won't work.
I'm under a time crunch to get this working for the company split. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

Lowering UAC is not always the best approach.
It sounds like you could run the installation elevated by right clicking setup and selecting Run as administrator.

  • HLB for Lync Server 2013 Standard Edition

    Hi Guys,
I am planning to add an additional new Lync Central site with paired Lync Server 2013 standard edition in Primary and DR data centers. with 1 or 2 OWAS Servers in each DCs. No Edge
server in this new Lync central site as we already have an Edge pool in another central site for federation. Only IM & P and Conferencing, no External Access, Mobility and EV.
My question is, for LS2013 Standard edition paired pools in the new Lync Central site. should I use HLB or DNS LB should be ok? as technically we do not have any HA here only DR.
Any advantage using HLB over DNS LB in LS2013 Standard edition?
    Thanks for your help.
    Cheer....

You typically wouldn't need HLB with standard edition at all.  What were you planning to accomplish?

  • OPMD Install failed to open service control manager

    Hi
I have an oracle 10.2.0.5 RAC installation on windows 2008R2 and I am encountering error when trying to install opmd-install
I received the error OPMD Install failed to open service control manager

    Hi,
It seemed the issue was resolved by installing the Agent manually. Since the subdomains are fully trusted, there is no need to install Gateway or Management Server in each subdomains. After installing the agents, the alerts can be received on domain.

  • Lync Server 2013 Front End Pool Mediation Service only works on one node

Hello, I'm currently experiencing an interesting issue with a Lync 2013 Front End Pool implementation on a customer, and I don't know if this is by design or am I missing something.
We implemented 3 Enterprise Front End Servers in a Pool with a hardware load balancer and we have them configured also as a mediation Pool.
We have a SIP trunk to an Avaya PBX which was perfectly working before on a Lync 2010 Implementation that we migrated to these new 2013 Front End Pools.
Now the SIP traffic is only working when configured directly to one node of the pool. If we configure it to any other node the calls fail. We also tried configuring the HLB for port 5060 for the pool and pointed the PBX to that IP but the calls also fail.
Searching around I read something about that the PBX has to be Lync certified in order to use DNS load balancing to send SIP traffic to the mediation pool, however, I don't think DNS load balancing will work because the other nodes doesn't connect the calls
from the PBX, only one node appears to be listening for the SIP Trunk.
I also restarted the mediation service on one  non-working mediation server node and the event viewer on the working mediation server node showed events that it restarted the service, Not the non-working one, it's like only one server from the pool
    is doing as mediation server.
So even if I get a Lync Certified PBX/Media Gateway, the mediation service doesn't appear to be load balanced, or how does it work in order to do that?
    Thanks.
    Eduardo Rojas

Just a few things about what should be happening.  Each front-end server should be listening on the port configured in topology builder for the mediation service. So if that is port 5060, verify that you see that port listening on all front-end servers
by running a netstat -ano.  From a local workstation, also make sure you can connect to that port via a telnet IPAddress 5060.  As you say, you should be able to send any of the three mediation servers an inbound call.
Outbound calls will round robin out of the enterprise pool.  So you shouldn't see all of the calls coming out of a single server.
A few other items I would look into:
    - Make sure your ports are right.  Ensure that you are matching ports on the Avaya and Lync.  It's not a hard requirement but makes life easier to troubleshoot.  So if the Avaya is 5060, just make sure TCP/5060 enabled in your mediation pools
and that your gateways/trunks are also set to TCP/5060.
    - Look outside the Lync Event Viewer and see if anything strange (.net errors) are being tossed anywhere else during startup of the mediation service.  I once had to remove the mediation server installer (Program and Features | Remove) and rebootstrap
the server because something went sideways during an install.
    Thanks,
    Richard

  • On-Site Conversation Translator and Lync Server 2013

    To Whom It May Concern,
I'm looking into deploying Lync Server 2013 Standard and I was curious as to whether there is a way to install the Conversation Translator as a service on-site.  Meaning not using the service on the Internet.  Similar to IBM's Websphere Application
Server where I can install a local instance on a closed network, have Sametime Connect point to that service, and translate the IM conversation.
I remember talking to a few MS folks a couple years ago, and they mentioned that it was going to be available as an add-on (or component) of Lync Server.  Is this possible?
    Thanks,
    Brendan

There is a Client side plugin, take a look at:

    Hi,
Glad to hear that you have solved the issue. For the second question, what did you want to do with the Windows Server (anything to do with Lync Server)? As it is another question, you can also post another case on Technet forum and more engineers will help
    you solve the issue.

  • Lync 2013 standard deployment: Exchange 2010 Sharepoint 2010 and outlook 2007 collaboration

    HI
I have Exchange 2010 and sharepoint 2010 with all our user using outlook 2007. what options do I have for collaborations between these systems if I was to install Lync 2013. I have seen posts that mention that you cannot use outlook 2007 and lync 2013 and
that you would be better off installing the lync 2010 client?
    1. would we be covered from a licensing point of view if we had bought lync 2013 cals but install the lync 2010 software on desktops?
    2. what Cals do we require for presence to be available in SharePoint we currently have standard sharepoint cals?
    3. what new features will we loose if we install 2010 lync software.
    4. if our mobile users use the 2013 lync software will these be able to communicate with the 2010 users?
    thanks
    J

    Hi,
If you use Lync 2013 client with Outlook, multiple functions will not be achieved, such as: customize Outlook meeting invitations (add logo, help URL, disclaimer, footer text), in Outlook, configure meeting option to mute attendee audio and video by default,
presence status in the Microsoft Outlook To and Cc fields, and so on. As Lync 2013 is the part of Office 2013, the best choice is using Outlook 2013.
    More details:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg412817.aspx
For the CAL requirement, you can refer to following link:
    Lync Licensing Guide
You can refer to the link below of “What’s new for clients in Lync Server 2013” to understand the new features for Lync 2013:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj204933.aspx
If you use Lync 2013 mobile clients, you can communicate with 2010 users with no possible.

  • Please help me resolve the Lync server 2013 deployment error: "An error occurred while applying SQL script for the feature BackendStore."

I am getting an error in "Step 2 - Setup or Remove Lync Server Components" of "Install or Update Lync Server System" step.
"An error occured while applying SQL script for the feature BackendStore. For details, see the log file...."
Additionally, all previous steps such as: Prepare Active Directory, Prepare first Standard Edition server, Install Administrative Tools, Create and publish topology are done without any errors. The user that I used to setup the Lync server is member of:
    Administrators
    CSAdministrator
    Domain Admins
    Domain Users
    Enterprise Admins
    Group Policy Creator Owners
    RTCComponentUniversalServices
    RTCHSUniversalServices
    RTCUniversalConfigReplicator
    RTCUniversalServerAdmins
    Schema Admins
I have tried to re-install all the things and started to setup a new one many times but the same error still occurred. Please see the log below and give me any ideas/solutions to tackle this problem.

  • How to unattended deploy Lync Server 2013 administrative tools

    Hi all,
I'm trying to deploy the Lync Server 2013 administrative tools unattended but it seams not to be such easy as with other Microsoft products.
I have looked for Lync Server setup command options/Switches but didn't find anything.
Currently the only way it really works is by manually installing the administrative tools using normal deployment wizard.
I have obsorved that the wizard then executes in the backgroud (not transparent) a set of different tasks like preparation tasks, installs some MSIs from the setup folder (like SharedManagementObjects.msi, SQLSysClrTypes.msi) and it copies
    the Lync Powershell Module locally.
I'm trying to find a way where I can deploy only this Lync 2013 administrative Tools on a set of Administrators Workstation (Windows 7 clients) and on some Windows Server 2012 R2 Management Servers by using for example a Powershell script or any other way
... important is that I can install them unattended and distribute them via existing software distribution tool.
Is there really no way to install them unattended?

    Hi Sergio Verardo,
If I understand you correctly, the following steps for your reference.
    1. Installing all the required software that Anthony mentioned.
    2. Running the following command on target machine.
    Msiexec
     /i \\SharePath\admintools.msi /qn
I tested it and worked on my computer.
    Best regards,
    Eric

  • Deploy licences for Lync server 2013

    Hi Guys,
How can i apply or how to put the Licences on Lync server 2013 i have a test lab Lync Server 2013 and i want to put the License on it how to do that? or is it possible i need another installation for it?
    Thank you,
This forum really helps a lot.

Agree with Anthony, the only other scenario is if you want to upgrade from the Evaluation to the full version in which case you need a copy of the full version media and follow the steps below:
Insert or mount your full version media on your Lync server.
    Open Lync Server Management Shell
Run Get-CsServerVersion to display the current version
    Run msiexec /fvomus server.msi EVALTOFULL=1 /qb
You may be prompted to specify the location of server.msi (which can be found in the Setup\amd64\Setup\ folder on your installation media.
Run Get-CsServerVersion to confirm the conversion  was successful.
    Run Enable-CsComputer
