Lync to PSTN quality Issues, no issues to be found in reports

We have a lync 2013 install recently completed however we are experiencing voice quality issues. It appears to be specifically calls between Lync clients and PSTN and additionally the issues are only heard on the PSTN side (Lync side sounds great). This
is regardless if it was a PSTN initiated or Lync initiated call.Reports of quality issues are given as "sounding watery", "Robotic", "Fading in and out", and "Momentary loss of sound". It it VERY consistent.
Our Lync to Lync calls are perfect (internally and federated), or if its not good quality it is easily diagnosed.
We are running 2 lync edge servers, two front end. currently only have 40 users. We have a 40mb internet circuit. QOS is enabled on the edge router\core switch and we have had the QOS investigated and does not appear to be the issue (I read another forum
post indicating QOS causing issues and we contracted a firm to verify QOS). We are using Intelepeer as a SIP trunk and it terminates to an Audiocodes  Mediant 1000. The Mediant 1000 connects directly to the internet.
When we look at the call statistics there are no issues to be found. We have opened tickets with Intelepeer and they do not show any issues either.
I am starting to feel a bit lost as to where to look for help. Please let me know what additional info you need and I will be grateful and happy to give more info.

Assuming you are not encrypting traffic between Mediation and gateway, you can use Wireshark to capture the traffic of the “internal” leg. Later you can “decode” and listen the actual call which will be the flow Lync <-> Mediation <-> Gateway.
If the quality is good, mirror switchport and Wireshark the traffic between Gateway and IntelePeer. This way you can identify the leg that introduces the issue. Just a place to start...

  • What sequence setting would you use to edit 1280 x1080 DVCProHD (P2) and 1920 x 1080 AVCHD (Sony) in FCP. Experiencing Quality and rendering issues.

What sequence setting would you use to edit both 1280 x1080 DVCProHD (P2) and 1920 x 1080 AVCHD (Sony) in a single timeline in FCP. I'm experiencing quality and rendering issues.  I've tried numerous settings but can't seem to figure this one out.  Thanks for your assistance.

Although you can combine the avchd 1920x1080 material with prores 1920x1080 in the same timeline, you might land up saving time just converting everything to 1920x1080 prores 422.   You'd probably reduce the amount of rendering while you're working and exporting when you're done by a great deal.  This workflow will require much more drive space.

  • Issues once subreport is added to main report.

Another question from a new Crystal Reports Developer. I have been battling this one for multiple days. I have built two seperate reports through Crystal Reports that pull their data through an ODBC connection from Remedy ITSM. One report is pulling data through the table AST_AssetPeople. It is pulling the following fields: Asset_ID and Full_Name. The other report is pulling data from the AST_ComputerSystem table showing the following: Name, Category, Type, Item, Model_Number, Serial_Number. I am using the AssetPeople report as the main and the ComputerSystem report as the subreport. When I pull the ComputerSystems report into the AssetPeople report as a subreport, my CR lags very badly. I let CR attempt to pull the data for about 2 hours before I left work the other day and ended up having to leave it overnight. When I came back to work the following day it had finally completed and I was able to view all pages of data. This is with the subreport being added to the details section of my main report. I had sent it to someone else at work that has Crystal Reports on their PC and they were able to run it just fine and it only took a few minutes to get all pages of the data back and viewable. That lead me to think that it was my PC, but when I went over to the other persons PC and logged in with my profile, I had the same problem that I had on my PC. This leads me to believe that it is an issue with the settings. The other person is out for the next week so I cannot verify that my settings match his, so I was wondering if anyone on here might have an idea what may be causing the issues that I am having. Both reports run just fine on their own, as do all my other reports that are simple reports from one table. It is just when I try to pull in a subreport that I have this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have gone in and checked the box next to Perform Grouping on Server. The check box next to Use Index or Servers for Speed was already checked. The Links for the subreport are set up as follows.
For subreport: Supported vs. Unsupported (This one comes from the ComputerSystem table)
Container Report fields to link to: AST_AssetPeople.Asset_ID
    AS_AssetPeople.Asset_ID field link-
Subreport parameter field to use: ?Pm-AST_AssetPeople.Asset_ID_
Select data in subreport based on field: AST_ComputerSystem.Asset_ID_
Asset ID is the only field that I found that the two tables have in common. I believe that I have the links set up correctly, but I could be wrong.
Either way, I am still having the same problems.

  • I'm getting the below issue when I try to deploy a report with Dynamic parameters, when I deploy it with static parameters I'm not getting this issue.

I’m getting the below issue when I try to deploy a crystal report with Dynamic parameters in BI Launch Pad, when I deploy the same report with static parameters I can deploy and run it. I have Restarted the BI server, still the issue exitno use. kindly help me on this issue.
“This error occurred: Adding Crystal Report "CrystalReport1.rpt" failed. The server with kind rptappserver returned an error result. Failed to copy the report file to the report object. Refreshing the report object properties might have failed. Failed to read data from report file CrystalReport1. Reason: Failed to read parameter object”.

BO does not run dynamic params through the report as would happen without BusinessObjects (BO) or Crystal Reports Server (CRS).  When you publish a report with dynamic parameters to BO/CRS, the prompt is published to the repository so that it can be accessed through the Business View Manager (which can be installed as part of the client tools).  In order for this to work a couple of things need to happen:
    1.  You need to be sure that you check the "Update Repository" box on the Save As screen the first time you publish the report.
    2.  Your BO/CRS user needs to have "view" access to the Crystal2013ReportApplicationServer in the Servers section in the CMC - in fact, the Everyone group should be given view access to the server in order for dynamic prompts to work correctly.
    3.  In the Business View Manager, the Administrator user needs to give your user, or, even better, a Crystal Developers group full control access to the "Dynamic Cascading Prompts" folder.
Best practice for dynamic prompts in a BO/CRS environment is to actually create the prompts in the Business View Manager.  This will allow you to create a single data connection that can be reused and also create lists of values such that the same list or prompt can be reused by multiple reports.  If you just create the prompts in Crystal, you will end up with multiple data connections to the same database, the prompts will use the whole query for the reports to get the dynamic values instead of just a focused query to the lookup table that contains the values, and there ends up being lots of duplication and chaos.

  • Lync 2013 Call Quality Reporting Time Intervals

Does anyone know the time interval used to report the metrics associated with the Lync 2013 call quality reports?  If so, is there documentation that confirms that?
For example, Max Packet Loss Rate gives you a percentage.  However, I haven't found any documentation that says how long a sample period is.  Was that Max Packet Loss rate experienced for, at least, 1 second, 5 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 mintue etc?
I haven't found any conclusive information regarding how long of a period they may have experienced that max packet loss number, nor at what point during the call.
Thanks in advance for the help!

    Hi,
The network health is expressed by the number of poor audio streams, where a poor stream is defined as having a packet loss rate over 1 percent and a maximum packet loss rate over 5 percent.
You can refer to the following two links to understand it easliy:

  • Performance issue in correlation with hidden objects in reports

    Hello,
is there a known performance issue in correlation with hidden objects in reports using conditional suppressions? (HFM version 11.1.2.1)
Using comprehensive reports, we have huge performance differences between the same reports with and without hidden objects. Furthermore we suspect that some trouble with our reporting server environment base on using these reports through enduser.
    Every advice would be welcome!

If you said that working with EVDRE for each separate sheet is fin ethat's means the main problem it is related to your VB custom macro interdependecy.
I suggest to add a log (to write into a text file)for you Macro and you will se that actually that minute is staying to perform operations from custom Macro.

  • Project Pro 2013 client Deployment with Lync 2010 and Team Explorer Excel Issues Following

    Current machines are Office 2010 SP1 or SP2 32-bit
Just deployed Project 2013 Pro and Std to the existing machines that had Project 2010 Pro or Std.  We selected the full install since people use integration into different tools.
    Results:
lync 2010 64-bit when attending a meeting prompted user to start using and download the Lync Web Component, which breaks features such as muting, etc.
A repair sent to the workstations for Lync 2010 64-bit fixed that.
Team Explorer 2012 Export to excel from queries gives error Unable to cast COM object of type 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.ApplicationClass' to interface type 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel._Application'. This operation failed because
the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID '{000208D5-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}' failed due to the following error: The interface is unknown. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706B5).
Repair of Team Explorer, Office, Test Manager 2012, etc did not assist.  if we go into excel and connect to TFS, we can then retrieve the query data.  Just not from TFS exporting to excel.  Had to unload Project 2013, repair Office 2010
and rebooted with project off the machine and now it works.   It seems maybe the setup with the shared features and Office tools are breaking something?  We need the ability for VBA and .net functionality, but what could be breaking this?

    Hi,
Your environment will support 32 bit of Project professional 2013 (x86) as you have Windows and Office of (X86).
You try to modify registry then you wont face issue.
The issue when you hit a "1653" is that Windows
Installer "DisableRollback" is set. Office 2013 requires that "rollback" be enabled. If you are getting a "1653"
error in your logs as Ken did then the solution is to delete the "DisableRollback" (or set to '0') at the following registry keys:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer
these are the issues I've seen:
Scheduler service was stopped. At a cmd window typing "net start schedule" resolves the problem.
CMD.exe was customized via the following registry key. Solution was to temporarily disable the customization by changing autorun value to autorun_old.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Command Processor
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Command Processor
Permission issues - seems some custom permissions affected Ingram's install which he explained in his previous post.
Environment variable "ComSpec" had been modified (semicolon added). Fix was to remove the added semicolon (there should be no semicolon).
The way to identify you are hitting this specific issue is if in the %temp%\OfficeSetup.log there is a mention of "Office64MUI.msi" failing to install with return value of 1603
If you want to enable verbose logging via the following key, rerun your failed install, and collect all the setup and MSI* logs that will give more information.
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer]
    "logging"= "voicewarmup"

  • Lync 2013 Mobility Client - Video Call Issue (Everything Else works).

    Hey Technet’ies,
I have been struggling for a couple of weeks now to resolve one of the final issues with a Migration/Upgrade Project on Lync Server 2013.
I have nearly every Lync Client Scenario working well except the Mobility Client (outside of the domain) which cannot successfully complete a Video
Call to a Windows Desktop Client (inside the domain) – the toast pops up, but when we click accept - it just times out after 15 seconds
    K
    The strange thing is every other Video Call scenario works;
    Mobility Client (Outside Domain)
    àWindows Desktop Client (Inside Domain)
    = Unsuccessful
    Mobility Client (Inside Domain)
à Windows Desktop Client (Inside Domain) = Successful
    Mobility Client (Inside Domain)

    Mobility Client (Outside Domain)
à Mac Desktop Client (Inside Domain) = Successful
    Mobility Client (All Scenarios)
à Mobility Client (All Scenarios) = Successful
    Our setup is pretty standard;
All OS servers are Win Server 2012 R2
    Lync 2013 Standard FE Server
    Lync 2013 Edge Server
Reverse Proxy IIS AAR (Also Win Server 20012 R2)
Lync 2013 Desktop Clients, Lync 2011 Mac Clients, IOS and Android Mobility Clients – all latest versions.
External NAT (via Cisco Routers ACL’s)
Internal Windows Firewall Currently off on all Servers
All Certs / DNS Configured as per Technet Recommendation
    I have reviewed / analysed a number of log/trace files – looking for some/any information on the problem;
    Mobility Client (cmlogX.log)
Windows Desktop Client (*.etl) / Microsoft Message Analyzer
    Lync 2013 Server (CSController)
With all my looking I could not make out an error except a timeout (15 seconds) on the Mobility Client log (which I currently can’t find).
Clearly we are missing something and I have gone up and down our implementation a number of times, the only semi-unknown is our old 2010 Pool / Central Management Server (which is currently pretty much redundant but the majority of users still on).
I would really appreciate any feedback anyone can provide or any insight anyone may have on this challenge.
    Thanks in advance, Alex.
    Alex

    Hi Andrew,
    Thanks for the quick contact!!
    Sorry - typo in my post, I have now corrected it;
    Mobility
    Client (Outside Domain) àWindows
Desktop Client (Inside Domain) = Unsuccessful
So I completely missed that blog post of yours (out of the 100's I have read) and you are the first person to clearly say (in simple terms) to point the lyncweb.contso.com to the public IP address on my internal DNS, I have just made that change and see
if it will correct the issue - will wait for replication.
Also I am running IIS / AAR as Reverse Proxy (not ISA) and had the Internal DNS Host A of lyncweb.contso.com and lyncdiscover.contso.com point back to my Reverse Proxy Internal NIC (i.e. 10.1.1.32) as the External NIC is isolated on in the Perimeter Network,
    is this correct?
So it now goes like this
    *Inside Domain*
    lyncdiscover.contson.com --> 10.1.1.32 (Reverse Proxy Internal Nic) --> 10.1.1.26 (Front End Server)
lyncweb.contson.com --> 201.183.0.1 (Reverse Proxy External Nic - Public IP) --> 10.1.2.16 (Reverse Proxy External Nic) --> 10.1.1.26 (Front End Server)
Does this make any sense, I know ISA and IIS/AAR are pretty much interchangeable.
Thanks again Andrew and look forward to any feedback,
    Alex.

  • Lync Setup and SQL Shared Instance Issues

I'll try to make this short and sweet.
We are running a shared instance with non-standard port set up for our new deployment of Lync 2013.  When setting up the SQL server stores I messed up and didn't put the FQDN but it still allowed me to create the database via power shell and SQL aliases.
I wanted to make it right so I changed it to the FQDN, same server but with .domain added in.  When I went to publish the topology I received a WMI error:
Error: An error occurred: "Microsoft.Rtc.Management.Deployment.DeploymentException" "Cannot determine where to install database files because Windows Management
Instrumentation on the database server is unavailable from your computer or user account. To continue, you can resolve this issue, or you can specify where you want to install the files."
This can be replicated by attempting to install the database from the topology builder with automatic settings.  Using default settings:
Error: An error occurred:"System.IO.IOException" "The network path was not found.
I realize that that database has been installed but Lync Topology stated that it needed to be done again since I changed the FQDN.
Running the command in powershell: Test-CsDatabase –ConfiguredDatabases –SQLServerFQDN *sqlserver fqdn here*, it comes up with succeeded on the following
databases: RTCXds, RTCShared RGSConfig, and RGSDyn.  It fails on CPSDyn database due to “Login Failed.”
My main question is are Lync deployments supported on SQL Shared instances that use the Default instance with a non-standard port?
I'm elbow deep in powershell commands, heh, but what I want to know is what ones I should be running before I find out there is a database problem the hard way.  Help and insight is greatly appreciated as Lync is unfamiliar territory for me.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg425818.aspx
If you are using the SQL Server default instance for any database when deploying Lync Server 2013, the following firewall rule requirements are used to help ensure communication from the Front End pool to the SQL Server default instance.
TCP   1433  Inbound to SQL Server
In addition, the SQL default instance does not use SQL Browser for discovery.

  • Problems with second desplay quality, and sleep issues.

I just purchased a MacBook Pro, and a Sharp Aquos 32" 1080p TV to use as my monitor (connected with a DVI to HDMI cable). When my MacBook is open, and use both the built in screen and the Sharp monitor, the picture is in 1080p. When I close the MacBook, the Sharp monitor switches to 1080i, which is a significant reduction in quality when editing video. Also, when I have the Sharp monitor hooked up, the computer will not sleep, it wakes back up immediately after telling it to sleep.
Any help with either of these issues would be great.
    Thanks

  • Lync 2010 to 2013 Migration DB issue, central management database.

    Hello ,

  • Lync 2013 Windows Mobile 8 connection issues

    Hi
I have setup an internal test Lync 2013 system to get sign off from management. I have installed all the roles on a single server. So far clients on PC's can sign in and so can iOS devices once I had turned on the internal web settings. However, we use Windows
Mobile 8 devices and I can't get any to connect. What ever I try I get a message saying that I need to check my network connection.
These devices are on the same internal network as the iOS devices. Is there anything special that needs to be done for Windows Mobile to work?
    Thanks.

    Hi
Sorry for the delay in replying. I have tried your suggestions and a Windows Mobile 8 device will still not connect. I have saved the log files and attached them. I can't see what the actual error is!
I have recreated my internal Root CA to include http urls in crl & cdp as this is mentioned as an issue, but this hasn't worked either.
    Thanks.

  • Itunes match sync album art work problem and poor quality art work issue

    Hi There,
I have two issues with apple itunes and itunes match:
I seem to have a number of albums with poor quality artwork, now i have gone through the removed downloaded artwork and the right click and select the art work toggle box to remove the art work, after doing this I then ask to get the album cover from Itunes indervidually and high quality art work is down loaded and looks great for around 10-20 minutes then it seems to update slowley and revert to the old poor quality art work. Any Ideas? A simular thing that happens is that some art work that ive added manually is deleted. I have also gone into the itunes folder and deleted the album art work folder to force it to download new art work. Is there any way to lock in the art work that you know is good?
Itunes match after making changes to itunes albums I have then updated itunes match and my work is undone? This maybe complaations or album coers any ideas.
I am using itunes version 11.01
I have looked through the forum and read meany feeds about album covers but I havent found one that is reverting covers.
    Many thanks guys
