Lync uninstall/install Issue 2013

Hi,
Our office has converted over to Office365 E1.
My problem is on one of our machines the Lync install was working just fine then one day something occurred and the install no longer works.
If one clicks on the icon in start menu a error flies up that the .exe cannot be found. What I then attempted to do was uninstall and re-install the program. Once in the programs area in the control panel the option to uninstall/change does in pop up. However
choosing the option to uninstall does not execute. Then I had decided to just try to overwrite the current install, by downloading the .exe file from the portal and executing. After executing that .exe I get a error with the message "Couldn't start office
installation Another installation is in progress. Looking in the process I do not see another installation .exe in progress. To test further I attempted to install One Drive Business which was not able to be installed as well.
Any Ideas?

  • Error while uninstalling and then re installing sharepoint 2013 on same server(windows server 2012)

    Hi All,
I have installed SharePoint 2013 prerequisites successfully on windows server 2012. While installing SharePoint 2013, system struck on for several minutes. I have restart my system manually. Later I then installed prerequisites which showed a successful
lessage. But When I try to install SharePoint 2013. I am getting the following error:
trial editions and lincensed editions of SharePoint, Project Server, and Office Web apps products may not be installed on the same server.
I am unable to find solution for this issue. what is the solution for this?
    Thanks in Advance..

To be honest, the quickest thing you could do (and what I would do regardless) is re-build the server (re-install Windows).

  • Can't install Exchange 2013 after previous uninstall (insufficient user privileges with the same user)

I have installed Exchange 2013 on Windows Server 2012, which ist a member of a Windows Server 2012 R2 Domain. All prerequisites and AD modifications were successfully  completed and I could install Exchange 2013. Unfortunately I made a mistake with
the target directory and had to uninstal Exchange 2013. If I start the Setup again, it fails in prerequisite check - the current user should not be a member of Enterprise and Schema admin Group, but it's the same user, which comleted the previous Installation
of Exchange 2013! Do you have any idea how to solve this Problem - I'm running out of ideas.

Inhave tried to run setup /PrepareSchema again and get the following error in exchange setup log:
[03.07.2014 19:25:53.0305] [0] Setup encountered a problem while validating the state of Active Directory: Couldn't find the Enterprise Organization container.
[03.07.2014 19:25:53.0337] [0] Validating options for the 0 requested roles

[03.07.2014 19:25:53.0399] [0] The Exchange Server setup operation didn't complete.  More details can be found in ExchangeSetup.log located in the <SystemDrive>:\ExchangeSetupLogs folder.
After removing all Exchange Parts by ADUC (advanced View) and ADSI Edit (Services) I'm able to install Exchnge 2013 again - the uninstall procedure seems not to work in a clean manner.

  • Exchange 2013 Cumulative Update 5 Install Issue

I have tried installing Exchange 2013 Cumulative Update 5 on our server but it is failing at the Mailbox role: Transport Service section with the following error. I am running the command prompt as Administrator. Any help would be great.
Error: The following error was generated when "$error.Clear(); Set-LocalPermissions
" was run: "System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Attempted to perform an unauthorized operation. at Microsoft.Exchange.Configuration.Tasks.Task.ThrowError(Exception exception, ErrorCategory errorCategory, Object target, String helpUrl) at Microsoft.Exchange.Configuration.Tasks.Task.WriteError(Exception
exception, ErrorCategory category, Object target) at Microsoft.Exchange.Management.Deployment.SetLocalPermissions.InternalProcessRecord() at Microsoft.Exchange.Configuration.Tasks.Task.b__b() at Microsoft.Exchange.Configuration.Tasks.Task.InvokeRetryableFunc(String
    funcName, Action func, Boolean terminatePipelineIfFailed)".

    Hi Tim,
From the Exchange setup log description, there is only one error, "Attempted to perform an unauthorized operation.". The error indicates that it is a permission problem. I would like to verify if you add the account to the local admin group. If no, please
add the account to the admin group and continue to install the CU5.
If the issue persists, I recommend you download a new CU5 for Exchange 2013 and reinstall it to check the result.

  • How to uninstall Office 2010 32 bit and install Office 2013 64 bit

    Hi Everyone,
I am rather new to SCCM.  I have setup a SCCM 2012 SP1 system.  I am now trying to setup an Application where it will install Office 2013 64 bit.  Everything seemed to go smoothly until I tried testing it.  I received an error that I
cannot install the 64 bit version of Office 2013 because Office 2010 32 bit is already installed.
I tried to modify the MSP where it will uninstall Office 2010 before installing Office 2013 but apparently as soon as it starts it checks for the 32 bit installation and exits when it finds it.
Could someone give me a detailed solution (since I am new to SCCM)?
    Ken

While referring to older versions of office I think this link may apply: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/f255e17d-4e1f-4231-8a88-d63f41c83c52/how-to-automatcally-uninstall-office-2007-32-bit-for-installation-of-office-2010-64-bit?forum=officesetupdeployprevious
Also you might create an office 2010 package, with an uninstall program that removes it.
Then in your office 2013 package make the uninstall for 2010 to be run first.

  • Error Code 30088-4 Installing OneNote 2013 with Office Pro 2007

Hi, I have been through most of the forums and have not found something related directly to this, but if it has been covered please direct me to the correct thread. I am installing OneNote 2013 on a computer running Windows 7 and Office Professional 2007.
I am running the installation as an administrator; however, each time I click the installer I get an error message stating there has been an issue and it gives me error code 30088-4. I have attempted the process of going to Control Panel > Programs and
Features, clicking on Office 2007, and selecting Change; however, no further windows will open once I click change so I am unable to click "Repair." I also went into Regedit and changed the
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office entry to use Office.old and re-attempted the installation, receiving the same error. I have not yet attempted uninstalling and reinstalling Office yet, and wanted to see if there were any other
fixes before I go that route.
    Thanks,

  • Installed Office 2013 home and Business and its prompting activation for Office 2013 standard

    Dear Friends,
Previously i got a trial version of Office 2013 stadard version on my PC and later on i purchased Office home and business version, i uninstalled standard version restarted the PC and installed Office 2013 home and Business OEM pack and activated the prduct.
Now while i am opening any  office product like Excel or Word while checking for activation information there its showing me both the versions of office, Office 2013 standard (activation required) and office 2013 Home and business activated. Now my question
is why that office standard 2013 is still showing in my activation page where as the same version was unable to find in my control panel programs and features. please help me out to get rid of this issue.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi,
Maybe you didn't remove the the Standard version completely, I suggest you uninstall Office using the Fix it tool:
    Click this Fix it.
Or we can uninstall Office 2013 manually, the steps are long and depend on your installation method, please refer to this article below:
Manually uninstall Office 2013 or Office 365
Note   Before you start, you need to know removing Office manually is a long, complex process and might require that you reinstall the operating system if certain steps are done incorrectly.
After the uninstall, install the version you need to check the result.

  • Mail x64 Control Panel Broken, Can't Install Office 2013 SP1 to Fix It - HELP NEEDED

I have the dreaded broken Mail x64 Control Panel that doesn't work after installing Office 2013 Home and Business on a Windows 8.1 Pro computer.  This was a fresh installation, yet Microsoft still has an ancient disk image on their Office.com website
for download.  The version is 15.0.4433.1507.  It's from 2012!  I don't understand the purpose of having people download something if you are not even going to keep it up to date, and have them download programs which you know are broken.
    Strike 1.
Another thread said to update Office 2013.  Easier said than done.  Windows Update won't do it, even if Windows Update is manually told to search for updates.  Strike 2.
Another thread said to disable updates inside an office program (File, Account, Update Options).  Then Enable it, and updating should start immediately.  Nope.  Strike 3.
Same thread said if the above didn't work, to go to Uninstall Programs, and run a Repair of Office 2013.  Did that, and then it wanted the Product Key again.  Gave it the product key, it put a green check mark next to it signifying it was good,
and then when I clicked next, it said it couldn't activate it.  I clicked the Repair button, and the program closed.  Strike 4.
I uninstalled, and reinstalled Office 2013.  I downloaded the Office 2013 Service Pack 1 x64, and ran it.  It gives the error message "There are no products affected by this package installed on the system".  How could that be?
Article ID 2850036 says specifically that it applies to "Microsoft Office Home and Business 2013".  Since when can't you install Service Packs? Strike 5.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Michael

    Hi Michael,
The issue may occur if the registry entries are corrupted or missing. Usually, repair the Office suite from control panel can fix the issue.
For your case, I would suggest you to run Microsoft Fix It tool (or follow the
manual steps listed in follow article
) to uninstall Office 2013 completely from your computer, then do a re-installation and verify the result:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501/en-us
If you are able to login to
www.office.com/myaccount, then you can get the latest Office installation file there.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Please have a try and feel free to post back.

  • Error when installing Lync components (Install CS-Database and Enable-CS Computer Fail)

Receiving the following error when running the Lync components install wizard.  I believe the issue is related to having run the service and installed the database once before, but had an issue installing all of the Lync FE components due to a server
FQDN renaming issue. Server was then named properly, removing the appended suffix, re-ran and redeployed the topology, all great. Now, when running the Lync component install wizard again, we receive the following errors related to installation of the databases
and local stores. I noticed another article related to this problem and per the article, I uninstalled SQL Server, rebooted, re-installed SQL Server from scratch, rebooted, then went back to the Lync FE to run the Lync component wizard again, resulting in
    these errors:
An error occurred while applying SQL script for the feature RtcDatabaseStore. For details, see the log file 'C:\Users\ADMINISTRATOR.ECSMARTSUITE\AppData\Local\Temp\2\Create-RtcDatabaseStore-ECSS-LYNCFE_rtclocal-[2014_07_25][16_56_00].log'An error occurred
while applying SQL script for the feature LyssStore. For details, see the log file 'C:\Users\ADMINISTRATOR.ECSMARTSUITE\AppData\Local\Temp\2\Create-LyssStore-ECSS-LYNCFE_lynclocal-[2014_07_25][16_56_20].log'An error occurred while applying SQL script for the
feature LyssStore. For details, see the log file 'C:\Users\ADMINISTRATOR.ECSMARTSUITE\AppData\Local\Temp\2\Create-LyssStore-ECSS-LYNCFE_lynclocal-[2014_07_25][16_56_20].log'
Looking at each of the three logs, received the following errors (in order of each log file listed above):
    1.  Creating login ECSS-LYNCFE\RTC Component Local Group.  The server principal 'ECSS-LYNCFE\RTC Component Local Group' already exists.
    2.  Directory lookup for the file "\\ECSS-LYNCFE\D$\CsData\LyssStore\lynclocal\DbPath\lyss.mdf" failed with the operating system error 5(Access is denied.)

It really looks like permissions - just for the heck of it, use a domain admin account to do this.  Make sure you're in the local admin group on the server.
    Check out the following link:

    Here is a quote:
Install SQl management Studio and check if a SQL instance already exists. If so check the DBs and you'll see that the login already exist. Uninstall SQL and leave just Lync core components. Restart and reinstall afterwards. You have this problem probably because you cahnged the name of the machine after runing Lync setup. Hence thesql instance refuse the login.

  • Error when installing office 2013

    Hello,
when installing office 2013 on a machine i receive this error.
A repair of the registry didn`t fix the issue.
    Anybody with an option?
    Thx

    Hi,
If you have installed Office before, make sure it has been removed completely. Refer to the links below and try the Fix it:
    Office 2010:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/support/how-to-uninstall-or-remove-microsoft-office-2010-suites-HA104027750.aspx
    Office 2013 and Office 365:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501/en-us
Usually this problem is caused by the damaged registry, we can try to use Windows Installer CleanUp utility to remove the Windows Installer registry settings associated with your products installation.
You can refer to this kb below, though it's for earlier versions of Office, it still may help:
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=304429
We can also try installing in Windows Clean Boot Mode:

  • Cannot install Exchange 2010 after installing Exchange 2013

    Hi,
I have the current setup as explained below.
    Exchange 2010 SP3 Version 14.3 (Build 123.4)
I installed Exchange 2013 as well to the setup. After installation everything was fine, but my backup solution was not as good enough to support Ex2013. So, I had to roll back. I uninstalled Ex 2013.
On the new server (on which I actually installed EX 2013) I tried installing Ex 2010 but it failed. But, when I execute Get-ExchangeVersion I get these two.
      AdminDisplayVersion                     ExchangeVersion
      Version 14.3 (Build 123.4)              0.1 (8.0.535.0)
      Version 14.0 (Build 639.21)             0.1 (8.0.535.0)
The first one is the live Exchange 2010 ( The first one which we had). When I try to run the setup, I am getting the following Error.
    Error:
The following error was generated when "$error.Clear(); get-OfflineAddressBook -DomainController $RoleDomainController | where { $_.IsDefault } | Enable-OabWebDistribution" was run: "Object is read only because it was created by a future version
of Microsoft Exchange: 0.20 (15.0.0.0). Current supported version is 0.10 (14.0.100.0).".
What can I do now? My intention is just to create another Exchange Server for redundancy. I only have one EXchange server now. I tried installing EX 2013, and it seems not suit me because of backup issue. What I have in my mind is to get 2 Ex 2010 Servers.
Should I try uninstalling EX 2010 and installing it from the beginning on the new EX Server?
    Thanks

    Hi Steve,
I have the same situation, On a new server (on which I actually installed EX 2013) I tried installing Ex 2010.
In the Client Access Role install setup, I getting:
    Error:
the following error was generated when "$error.Clear(); get-OfflineAddressBook -DomainController $RoleDomainController | where {$_.IsDefault} | Enable-OabWebDistribution" was run: "Object is read only because it was created by a future version of Microsoft
    Exchange: 0.20 (15.0.0.0). Current supported version is 0.10 (14.0.100.0)
    Admin Display Version
    server 1 version 14.3
server 2 version 14.0 (Client Access Role Error)
how can I resolve this error?
    Thanks.

I have problemns with Lync 2010 with Outlook 2013 under Windows 8.
Conversation History is not being saved.
    All the patches are installed.
When I click on "show more in Outlook" it complains the accounts are not the same. I have two exchange accounts configured within the one Outlook profile. I never had this issue under Outlook 2010.

  • Uninstalling/reinstalling exchange 2013 in hybrid environment

    Hello guys,
We have exchange 2007 SP3 servers, Exchange 2013 CU3 with all
rules (no DAG) server and Office 365 .
    Exchange 2013 CU3 servers were
installed initially only for office 365 migration needs. They configured as
    hybrid servers.
No, after the migration I would like to install Exchange 2013
    servers with DAG.
I am going to install 2 new servers with only Mailbox
role on Windows 2008 R2 enterprise.
Also, I will upgrade current Exchange
    2013 CU3 to CU7.
Later after making sure everything is ok, I am planning to
remove mailbox role from these hybrid servers. Unfortunately, in order to do it,
exchange should be removed and re-installed with only client rule.
    Will it
remove or change significantly hybrid configuration? Is there any manual how to
remove\reinstall exchange without changing hybrid config?
Second question: Are any issues with CU7 and it's better to stay with CU3? I prefer to upgrade since all the users who still not migrated to Office 365, are located on Exchange 2007. So it will be easier to do it now than later after migration
    Please assist

    Allen,
I uninstalled exchange and installed only client role on two servers and updated deleted settings on virtual directories. Needed to recreate arbitration mailbox and OAB. Everything is ok. hybrid config was not touched since I uninstalled exchange and reinstalled
it on servers one by one.
I configured WNLB for two client servers and configured its VIP hostname on outlook anywheree configuration- it's working. Since it's better to configure load balance with layer 7 and not 4, I will wait for F5 guy to create related VIP for me.

  • Installed Office 2013 on MBP Retina and Got BSOD.  Could it be MSFT Cacheing?

I just installed Office 2013 Home Premium.  Running Win7 64 bit.  Have never had any issue and now getting Blue Screen in various Apps (IE, Visio, Word, etc.).  Blue Screen Says BAD_POOL_HEADER.  When I read it is mentions Cacheing.  I uninstalled Office 2013.
Would Office Pro the standalone version have this same problem.
It also looks like my Nivida Audio driver is new as of today 2/2.  I noticed when looking in Add/Remove programs.
Does anyone have any answers?  Obviously, would like to use Office 2013, but cannot deal the the BSOD.
    Ideas on how to fix?

Resetting the SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own
    Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if it's not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time. The power adapter indicator light will cycle off / on once.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
