Lync2013, Win 8.1. Camera crash Lync

After update to win 8.1 video conference will not work in Lync.
Currently I have to cameras connected to my laptop (Dell Latitude E5510). The internal and one external. If i go into video (tools) options in lync i can choose from both cameras and picture is shown in screen. All is good so far.
But once i try to start a video conference or preview camera i a conversation Lync goes to "Not responding" and has to be shut down.
All drivers are the latest and both cameras work fine if i use Skype. I have also tried disableing the internal and only using the external(Microsoft Lifecam Studio), but the same happens here. Never had any problems before win 8.1.
Any suggestins/fixes?

I have seen some similar cases, most of them are driver related.
You could try the following steps to troubleshoot your issue.
1. Uninstall the Camera drivers(both the internal and external).
2. Reinstall one of them and test.
3. Keep Office 2013 up to date.
4. Install the latest version of .Net Framework.
5. Also check your Speakers/Headphones device is working properly.

Sorry for this late answer. I had not to time hanging around on the pc. Thank you for your help.
I solved the problem, lucky!
After deinstalling all Apple Software (except safari) I started the PC again and installed Itunes another time.
It worked, so I am happy, still not knowing what was the problem.
The best thing is, that my mediathek is still running (I hoped so, it was put on another harddrive.)
Updates should not stress that way...

Boot camp on win xp sp 2 crashes approx every 15 min ?

Mac pro 2.8, OS X 10.5.6, win xp sp2 on a saparate drive.
Boot camp 2.1 on win xp sp 2 crashes approx every 15 min ?
Installed clean, starts and works great for about 15 min then reboots, no blue screen or errors just reboots.
Looking for more info on this any assist. would be great,

Other things to look at:
Intel LAN, RealTek, your graphics driver, look at what you installed, check msconfig and disable everything there for now you don't need, leaving just basics and your AV program.
Run system file checker -
sfc /scannow
Schedule a chkdsk on your drive.

[Help] wine (AUR) + ATI WoW = crash on launch

Howdy
Been using Arch for a long time (came from Gentoo), but not been much of a gamer the last years, for that i had a MS rig with xp then vista.
I installed the 32-wine from AUR (thanks for that by the way), everything seems ok.
I downloaded the apropriate installers for WoW, both normal and Burning Crusade.
Both install fine, and i can "launch" the game from the "desktop shortcut".
The problem does not start when I hit "play", then my screen all gets "twisted", and everything gets pixelated.
(Kind of when a game crashes and messes up the screen)
the only fix i found so far is ctrl+alt+<--" to get back into KDE to get it working again.
this is run on a 3870 card from ATI, everything else works fine, include compizfusion (turned of when i try to run the game).
Everything else seems to work fine.
I assume it is some sort of gfx bug, prolly relates to directx, but i get same result when i use -opengl to launch launcher.exe
The problem "breaks" everything, even when run in a containerwindow.
Settings are for xp (winecfg)
Posting xorg.conf incase there might be something related to that.

That's a really convoluted xorg.conf (two Screens, two Devices, two Monitors). If you look, you're using aticonfig-Monitor, aticonfig-Screen, and aticonfig-Device. I would try your other entries in different combinations (Screen0, Card0, Monitor0) and try tuning them.
How did you make that config? Try hwd -xa as well.

Export to camera crashes iMovie 06

We've been running 10.3.9 and iMovie 05 sucessfully for a while now, but after upgrading to 10.4.4, iMovie 06 and Quicktime 7 we started getting numberous problems with iMovie. I'm not sure if this is 100% iMovies fault or some combination of the upgrade. Specifically I'm seeing
1) iMovie crashes every time we try to export to a camera. Silently with no error message -- it just goes away.
2) When we plug new camcorders or A/D converters to the computer, we often have to reboot the whole computer to get iMovie to recognize that a camera is attached.
3) Slick Transitions v2-3 do not work in iMovie (other volumes do)
There are work arounds for #2 and #3, but not being able to export to the camera is a major problem. Has anyone else seen this? Is it definitely iMovie 06 (as opposed to the OS or Quicktime upgrade)?

I had your #1 problem when I was using iMovie 5. I solved it by downloading QuickTime from the Apple website and reinstalling it. Perhps that would work with iMovie 6?

Apps w/ in-app camera crash when taking photo

Using an iPhone 4S w/ iOS 6.1.3
Lately I've noticed that I am unable to take a photo in any app that has an in-app camera. As soon as I press the "shutter" button, the apps crash. This has happened with VSCOCam, Instagram*, and my mobile banking app (when trying to take a photo of a check for Mobile Deposit).
However, the native iPhone camera is behaving normally, with no issues.
Anyone else having this issue, or any idea how to fix this?

* = This is also happening within Instagram when I choose to use a photo from my camera roll. I crop it, apply an effect, and as soon as I touch "Done" the app crashes.

Win 8.1 App crashes - MyBookLive 3TB

I have downloaded the WD App from the Windows App store. When I launch the app, sometimes I see "No supported WD devices found". If I close the app and restart it, I can see the live tiles under the categories "Photos" "Videos" Music", etc, and a status bar at the top of the screen that tells me xxx number of folders are being discovered. Then after a few seconds, the app crashes and returns to the screen that tells me I have no supported devices..... I have updated the drive to the latest available firmware (02.43.10-04802.43.10-048) but still no success. I have no other connection challenges with this unit and can map to it, but the App is extremely unstable. Too bad because it presents a nice interface. Is there any solution for this? I read one post where someone suggested that this App wasn't meant for the MyBookLive, but the information on the App's site clearly lists the MyBookLive as one of the "Recommended hardware" options for this App. I've seen a number of complaints, but no solutions from WD. I have been frustrated by this for over a year when I first learned that WD offered the App on Win 8.1. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the app, I have tried a factory restore on the device (which is extremely labor intensive and time consuming and I am not willing to do it again). This issue is happening on both my Lenovo Helix running Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit, and my desktop which is running Windows 8.1 Enterprise version 64bit. I originally posted on the external drives forum, but no one offered any advice. I think this is probably the better forum to use. Hopefully the app developers monitor this forum and can offer some advice. Even if the advice is "we don't currently have a solution for this", at least it's an answer. I just went back to the windows store to read some for the reviews - apparently no one is happy that this app doesn't work and all it's been receiving lately is one star with a slew of complaints that the app doesn't work. Either offer a fix for the app, or update the information on the app's description that explains which devices just aren't compatible. That would be the right thing to do. Any suggestions?

What can i do about the camera crashing on zte firefox open

The camera app performed o k for about two weeks but when icon pressed now the screen goes black / blank on pressing the camera image a message saying "camera just crashed" appears tried reset but to no avail, should i send it back or is there a solution.

IPhone 3GS Camera Crashes iOS 4.3 When Device Used In Cold Weather

I was in Chicago today where the weather was in the low 40's (high 20s with the windchill). As I was sightseeing and using my iPhone to shoot casual snapshots, the OS completely crashed when I was trying to take the picture. My iPhone has never crashed for any reason, but I shrugged it off and then restarted the device. I took two more pictures, and then the phone again crashed on the third picture. After another restart, the phone started crashing every time I took a picture without exception.
Fearing the worst that my phone was about to die on me while on a business trip, I headed back to the car and headed for the hotel. As I was driving back, I got to thinking that my phone has never been in weather this cold before (I'm from California). As soon as I got to my room, I put the camera beneath the heating vent and allowed it to warm up. Once it felt like it was room temperature, I picked it up and started shooting pictures to see if I could get it to crash again. After forty pictures, it was still working.
Are there any known issues with the camera sensor on the iPhone 3GS in cold weather? Another poster from Eastern Europe seems to be having the same problem with the same model phone:

920 settings menu, mail, camera crashes but not al...

My 920 is doing weird things since last weekend.
I installed some weather apps and the new foursquare app and ever since then when freshly booted after some time my 920 decides to do some strange things:
It takes like 5-10 seconds to display the unlock screen
Screen is very dim
Some apps will no longer start
Email
Settings
Camera
Internet Explorer
and probably a few others.
Strangely enough most other apps will work fine (angry birds, wordament, calculator, nokia music, xbox music etc.)
Also email, calls etc will still be comin in (albeit I cannot open the emails). Also switching between applications is VERY slow when this happens.
I have since removed above mentioned apps (to no avail), rebooted (which helps for a short period)
Also i've been in a reboot loop of some kind for like half an hour where it would only show the nokia logo, reboot, show logo and so on. This booted through eventiually.
I have tried:
Soft reset
Settings->about->factory defaults, with backup restored
Hard reset through buttons method, with backup restored
Hard reset through buttons method, clean (so no backup restored)
Flashed the phone with the most recent firmware
All this has not helped and I cannot find the source of the problem, I've eliminated nearly all thinkable options.
disabled wifi
flight mode
stopped my mail accounts from syncing
disabled mail from my live ID
removed facebook account
removed skype
Under all these conditions the problem has come up, wheter I am using the phone at that particular time or not.
I am at a loss as what this could be and am on the verge of sending the phone back.
Does this problem sound familiar to anyone? And if so, some pointers?

This issue is really strange, Yesterday I used the phone the whole day with a fresh boot in the morning and a single "crash" in the evening and today it has already "crashed" 4 times within 2 hours. And a short boot loop of about 10 minutes.
I also noticed that the rotation sensors are not working anymore when the phone gets in this state.
Oh and I mentioned that the calculator seemd to work, but this is wrong. It also crashes.

Exporting from iMovie to my camera= crash??

Since i've upgrated it from 10.3.9 to 10.4.8, and bought iLife and upgrated everything, each time i try to export my video from iMovie to my Sony camera mini DV, the application quitt.it never happened before. And even when i just edit with iMovie, it crashes more often than before. What happens?

I found something very interesting, because apparently this problem exists with iMovie 3 and 4: when Final Cut Pro is installed, iMovie doesn't reconize the camera anymore when trying to export the video on a camera.... For me , Final Cut was arleady installed since a few months, but indeed, i've started to use it recently and it could be since that time that i have this problem...
The article says that the problem doesn't occure anymore with iMovie 5 and more.... Apparently not...
The only thing is, the solution they give to avoid the problem still doesn't work for me.... So, if someone has another suggestion??

Could there be more bad news? Camera crashes iPhone4

Just got mugged by my iPhone4. Actually, I wish it were so but the camera on my brand new iPhone4, which I only received yesterday, won't take my mug shot or anyone else's for that matter. First attempted use of the camera froze the virtual shutter and crashed the entire operating system. Hard reboot of no help. Any fix short of exchanging it for a new one at Apple store? Could it be that Apple rushed this phone to market before it was ready due to discovery of the prototype model found in a bar? Any suggestions?

When download complete, I selected synch as new iPhone which reinstalled backup data and apps
If you selected restore as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup, your iPhone's backup was not transferred to your iPhone. When doing so, you must reselect the content on your computer that you want transferred to your iPhone under the various tabs for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes - music, movies, TV shows, podcasts, 3rd party apps, and photos followed by a sync.

PLEASE VERIFY: movies from canon cameras crash quicktime, finder, iPhoto!!

Hi, I just wanted to see if anyone else out there can duplicate this problem. I have tested this now on two different macbooks and one macbook pro with the same result. When dumping movies recorded off canon digital cameras, quicktime is unable to play them and immediately crashes without warning. I have tested this in many different cases. Even using image capture to pull the movies off works fine, but if you "preview" the movie using the column view in finder, or even using get-info, causes the finder to instantly reboot. I have tested this with the following cameras all with the same result:
- Canon Powershot SD200
- Canon Powershot A85
- Canon Powershot A70
For all you macbook owners out there, here is a small sample movie that I recorded a few minutes ago from a powershot A70. This movie plays fine on every PowerPC based mac I have tested, but as of yet, no Intel mac will play it. Let me know what you guys find! Also, if you click on this movie and safari gives you the "quicktime with question mark" then try ctrl-clicking and doing "download linked file" and then play it in the finder. You'll see. It'll crash

It played fine on my MacBook as well.
You might create a new user on your MacBook using the Accounts System Preferences. Log out and log in as the new user. Import your movie into the new user's account. Does the movie make the Finder crash as well? If so, you have a system-wide problem. If not, then your user has a preference or setting problem.

But my air App having crash.. my air app die...

I've tried the test in air sdk 3.1 and air sdk 3.8
This problem occurs after a few minutes.
This problem is caused by random time when i use front camera
after 5-20 minutes
This problem does not occur in galaxy note1, 2 and galaxy note 10.1

IMovie '11 capturing direct from camera crashed, need to recover file

I was caputuring direct from a camera via firewire and the drive got almost full, so iMove crashed. I can find the capture file, a .mov, put it fails to open in quicktime or VLC.
Please help. I've got over 2 hours of footage that I really need.

An alternative solution....for now. If you copy the files to your desktop or in any other folder you want them (it's temporary), you can still import them in iMovie. Just click Archive, Import, Movies and search for the folder you put your files in. I did it several times with success, that means no error! Now I can use my files and edit them in iMovie. You can delete the files on the desktop, since iMovie has copied the files into the iMovie library.
Another possibility is drag and drop the files from your desktop directly into an event. iMovie will copy the files into the library. For both options I am not sure if analysation for stability en recognising persons had been done while importing, but I guess you can do that later on.
Do not make the mistake of importing them in Aperture or iPhoto, drag and drop it an iMovie-event and delete it in Aperture/iPhoto... You will only hear the audiostream, you will see miniatures in iMovie, though your videostream is gone. That's how I lost the first video of my second daughter .
Until there's a good solution or update from Apple it works for me. I hope it does for you too!
