Lyrics problem

I seem to be having trouble viewing lyrics on my iPod Nano 8G and I'm wondering if anyone else is having this problem, or if someone can tell me why I'm having trouble.
I've loaded lyrics into iTunes and in iTunes all the lyrics appear just fine in the Lyrics tab when I Get Info. I transferred all the music to my iPod and when I play a song, sometimes I'm able to click through to the lyrics screen, but other times it's blank. I can remedy this by menu-ing out all the way back to the main screen and then clicking on Now Playing and then going to the lyrics screen. But, really, who wants to do that?!?

I have a same kind of problem.
Here's a demo: http://i11.tinypic.com/2gwclfc.jpg
When I view lyrics of a song, it looks fine. While in the lyrics screen, I press clickwheel for the next track. The next song starts playing and it's still in the lyrics screen (as it should be?) but shows only the title of the track. In this case i press the clickwheel 5 times to come back to the lyrics screen again and then it shows fine.
This problem should be very easy to repeat. Does anybody else have this problem or can you skip tracks and the lyrics are showing up fine all the time?

    Hey,
I do not know if it is just me or all of us have this problem that after upgrading ios 5.0 and got icloud on ipad2, I can not find the lyrics anymore while playing songs. Any solutions?
    Thx.

Has anyone tried it? I would like to have an answer, I'm trying since Friday and is working properly.

  • Sync lyrics problem

So... when I go to Get Info>Lyrics I can see the lyrics of the song. When I Sync my iPod I can see the lyrics without any problems.
BUT if I listen to the song on my computer and then sync my ipod again. lyrics are gone? So basically if i listen to a song on my computer i loose that song's lyrics when I sync with the ipod. ALTHOUGH the lyrics always stay correct in my mac.
    Whats going on?

I NEED HELP. I cant listen to any song on my mac without loosing the lyrics on my iPod when i sync. I just restored and updated to 3.1.3 and still the same problem.
Changing the ID3 tags doesn't seem to help either.

  • Lyrics - problems with split-syllable words.

When entering lyrics in Logic Studio 8, the manual tells me to press SHIFT-TAB to get the lyric tool to line up under the second half of a tied note, so that, for instance, I can enter something such as "Glo - ria"
with the dash which splits the word lined up underneath the second part of that tied note.
This worked fine in my earlier version.
When I do this now, as it tells me to in the manual, all that happens is that the last word/syllable I have typed starts to flash!
What, if anything, am I doing wrong? It is very frustrating,as I work extensively with lyrics/songs.

There are lots of little things like this that don't work in Logic, unfortunately. And since no one knows when an update will be issued, or, if such an update will even address the problem, my best suggestion is that you find a workaround. Otherwise you'll simply grow old and frustrated. The been-there-done-that-got-the-t-shirt text-entry hyphens are my best suggestion.
FWIW, when I'm doing lyric entry, I'll have the pencil tool set up on the CMD key. As I'm sure you know, selecting the lyric item in the score editor palette prior to using the pencil tool will ensure that the pencil retains its lyric-entry function until another palette item is selected. I also have two key commands set up to do:
    • select pointer tool (arrow)
    • select text tool
On my system, it's "W" and "E" respectively. So... when I want to enter lyrics, I hold down the CMD key and start lyric entry. TAB gets me to the next actual note. When I need to add a hyphen, I simply hit "E" and voila, I get the text tool and enter it. When I'm done, I hit "W" and I'm back to the pointer tool. The pencil tool remains on CMD. By keeping the main tool as the pointer/arrow, I'm always at-the-ready to rubberband a bunch of lyrics+text and use another handy key command to align it all (align vertically).
    Anyway, HTH.

  • New Karaoke lyrics problem

Ok, like I mentioned in my previous post, I managed to get the effect I wanted with Karaoke lyrics highlighted on the screen a word at a time using the sequence text behavior.
But if I duplicate the text (to maintain my text settings) the sequence text behavior no longer works. This is true whether the behavior is duplicated along with the text, or if only the text itself is duplicated and a new sequence text behavior is placed on it.
Possible bug?? Can anyone else confirm?
It seems my only option is to create each new text line separately and then add a sequence text behavior and manually adjust it each time. Copy and paste seems to break the effect.

How are you trying to hotsync..cable, bluetooth, over a network?
Try right clicking on the hotsync manager and make sure local is the only thing checked.

  • Lyrics bug

Hi! It's my first message and I hope you can help me... I have the famous lyrics problem...
(Lyrics don't show up on Ipod, I find only the title... This problem is particulary annoying when I change the song troughout the Lyrics screen...)

Now... I have a few questions:
    1) Is Apple going to fix this bug with an update?
    2) How can I inform Apple about this bug and ask for a solution? (if possible...)
    3) How can I solve this problem? Does it depends on the text enconding?
    Thanks a lot.

This is a truly annoying bug, yes. I found a great free tool on Version Tracker called pearLyrics that looks up lyrics on the web as the song is playing in iTunes and pastes the lyrics directly into the song - only once and not twice. (Uncheck the "Look for chords first" box for just lyrics.) It's not perfect but it works pretty well.
Still, sometimes I need to find lyrics it can't and want to cut and paste... UGH! It's also impossible to alter the lyrics once they're pasted, the text editing does not work correctly at all. Hope they fix this - and soon.

  • It's now over 6 weeks since I made the mistake of updating my iPad and I am furious and frustrated at the lack of a solution to the problem with ios 5 audio app missing lyrics

It’s now over 6 weeks since I made the mistake of updating my iPad and I am furious and frustrated at the lack of a solution to the problem with ios 5.
I recently updated to ios 5.1 but nothing has been done to rectify the audio app problems ie lyrics no longer shown,
I am extremely disappointed and angrywith those responsible for the iOS 5 update, in regard to the way it hasaffected the music app in my iPad.
I also own an iPhone 4, am an avid Apple fan, and up until now have beenextremely pleased with the devices, and have sung their praises to friends andassociates.
I am a professional musician, and purchased an iPad primarily to use with theperformance of my music.
The changes made to the music app affected my performances over the weekendextremely adversely – limiting my repertoire and causing confusion and delays.
I have spent many hours talking withApple helpline assistants (who, incidentally have been very good and have triedto help), and I have also spent a lot of time on this letter.
I greatly regret updating to iOS 5.
There are two major problems with the music app.
    1. Lyrics no longer displayed
    2. Layout, and appearance and consequently performance have seriouslyregressed.
I have a repertoire of around 500 song backing tracks, organised into about 20playlists, half of which featured lyrics / chords that I have spent monthsrecently entering into iTunes so that they could be used on my iPad.
These were working fine up until the update - now they are gone.
Previously, the app featured large icons for playlist, artists, songs etc. atbottom of page: Now there are small, grey, indistinct barely legible buttons.
Previously, when playlist icon was selected - all the playlists were listedclearly in order on the left hand side in black on white (as in iTunes).
Now they are scattered across the whole page in large squares (displayingnothing if there is no album art).
The identifying wording below eachsquare is now small, grey, indistinct & barely legible.
Previously, when a playlist was selected - the songs were displayed in adescending list in black & white: now they appear as small, grey indistinct & barely legible.
Previously, when a song was selected - it appeared filling the page, and withaudio controls clearly positioned at top of screen. One tap would bring uplyrics.
Now audio controls appear at top once again small, grey, indistinct &barely legible.
A small square representsalbum art which if tapped fills page. A further tap fails to bring up lyrics.

Lyrics aren't supported in the Music app on iOS 5 on the iPad. These are user-to-user forums, they are not monitored by Apple (there are too many forums/threads/messages for that to happen). If you want to leave feedback for Apple then you can do so here : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

  • Problem with lyrics

    Hello
I've got a problem With my 3rd Gen. Ipod touch:
when I add lyrics to my songs at ITunes by the usual way (Get info->lyrics)
and I sync my Ipod Touch, the lyrics doesn't appear on the screen when I hear a song.
What's interesting, that I put hebrew lyrics to one of my hebrew songs, and when I heard this songs, the lyrics appear for a second and the disappeared, and every time I hear this song, the lyrics pops-up for a second at the beggining of the song, and then disappears for all the time..
    What should I do?
    Thanks, Aharon

    Hmm..
Try converting the ID3 tags to an older version in iTunes, then syncing the updated changes to your iPod.
_To convert the ID3 tags to an older version via iTunes:_
    1. Locate the songs you are unable to retrieve lyrics from on your iPod
    2. Right->click on it and choose "Convert ID" tags.
    3. A small window will pop up with a few options for you to select.
    4. For the best results, tick the option that says ID3tag version, and choose either version 2.2 or 2.3 for the version (2.4 has been known to cause issues).
    5. After the conversion has finished, sync the updated changes to your iPod.
You may need to restore your iPod as well and start from scratch to try and resolve the issue.

  • Help for Lyrics in Score problems.

Words will not stay in alignment with notes above them, when the next word is added. If I try to correct or adjust the position the notes will then move away. If I ignore the movement I can finish up with some measures two or three times the required size. Also the cursor disappears after "tabbing" the entries, forcing re-use of the lyric box quite often and it is completely impossible to insert words with more than one syllable which would need to be hyphenated. What am I doing wrong? or is it the program at fault? I used to have no problem with Notator on an Atari, and other programs on a PC.
At least I don't have hackers with my Mac Pro.

I guess I'm just asking for too much --- I don't know what it should be called but it should be trivial to simply type text and use the spacebar to line words up with notes, and be able to type an entire line of lyrics in one go. If the program wants to "convert" what was typed into some more sophisticated representation so that it can retain the alignment later as notes move, that's fine .... but don't make it the user's problem.
I'm afraid you're going about this all wrong. And you're missing the entire point of the lyric entry function, which is to apply/assign/connect each word or syllable to individual notes. You don't enter in an entire line of lyrics at once -- you enter them one at a time. Let's take the lyric, "Stars never shone so bright" as seen in this screenshot:
So let's say you typed in the entire line at once -- as you'd like to do. How would Logic know which note each word or syllable is supposed to be attached to? Should it magically figure out that you want the word "stars" to be sung over two notes instead of one?
    See?
I dunno, but I sense a lot of frustration in your posts, and I think it has to do with not having read the manual. Short of that, I've already explained to you in my several posts how lyric entry works, and how you can make it work.
But just to be a bit more complete about it, you don't have to drag drag drag drag drag the lyric entry 'symbol' to the score each time. You drag it ONCE, and then hit TAB after you type in the first lyric/syllable. TAB advances the lyric entry function to the next note. And so on.
OR, if you mess up and lyric entry stops, either:
    • drag the lyric symbol again and continue, OR...
    • assign the pencil tool to the CMD key. Hold CMD and select "lyric". If you mess up, simply hold CMD and pencil in a new lyric entry start point.
Basic techniques. RTFM. But if you're not willing to accept these simple paradigms then you should probably look to some other software.

  • ITunes / iPod having problems with lyrics in MP3 files and not with M4A ?

Over the last two month (without this forum) I believed sometimes to be the only one having a weird problems with iTunes lyric format structure.
Now after more than 50h of investigations interesting results appear.
    The field of trouble:
    a) People are not able to delete lyrics in iTunes
    b) People discover that iTunes and their iPod/iPhone do not show the same lyrics
    c) it seems that the lyrics of certain songs can't synchronised with the iPod
    d) it seems that the problem in iTunes can appear more than one times that itunes corrupts the contents of lyrics in a way that:
    e) the text structure is damaged, no more line breaks, no empty lines between text sections.
After all my suspicion is: All of this trouble can be caused by one problem:
iTunes (at least latest version 9.0.3 (15) has a -unkonwn- problem with the lyric-text structure in MP3-files. It seems that iTunes does not have the same problems if the file is in M4A-file format, created by apple-store files being downloaded, or CDs being converten in iTunes using the build in AAC-converter!
Converting "infected" files (via AAC) to M4A are clean again (on iTunes and iPod) showing no more one of the trouble ahead. The ghost is eliminated. Everything synchronizes as it should be.
And I for myself have to convert more than 3000 songs now... to ged rid of this nightmare.
Now I'm very curious of You experiences. Can You confirm my suspicion? Or have You had similar problems with Your M4A-files too?
    - Best Regards ThomasK_DJ, south Germany

Try this -> http://mp3val.sourceforge.net/ to verify and fix MP3 files.
Also, it could be the version of the ID3 tags.
Select a song in iTunes then go to iTunes menu Advanced -> Convert ID3 tags and select a different version and see what happens.

    Any idea?

sometimes Unicode processing of text may wrongly convert a character which is originally only 1 byte wide to a full 3-byte wide Unicode character. This may be the source of this bug.
    有时候将非Unicode字符转换为Unicode字符可能会错误地将原本只有一个字节宽的字符转换成一个完整的三字节Unicode字符,这可能就是问题的起因。
