M-Audio 410 Firewire - Mic problems

I have Windows i7 64bit, and a M-Audio 410 Firewire soundcard.
I can't get the mic to work in Skype, byt it works fine when I record with it in others audioprograms (Soundboth and Audition).
I can hear when people talk to me through Skype, but they can't hear me talking.
I have try to change set-up for mic in Skype funktions, but I can't make it work
Any idea of what I can do - I use a RØDE NTG-2 and Phantompower is on
When I speak in the mic I can hear it in my Headspeakers

I have the same problem, but on Mac and with a Yamaha n12 mixer or a Behringer usb - up until now I didn't find a way to solve this. I'm afraid it's a skype problem, our mixers have nothing to do with it...

  • Using gb with m-audio 410

l am trying to figure out how I can record 4 tracks simultaneously with a m-audio 410 firewire interface. As far as I can tell, it only allows me to record one track at a time(?)
Also, I'm having a new problem of whenever I press record, it only records for one beat and then stops. I tried opening a new project, and it still stops after one beat.....anyone else know of this issue?

The 410 has 10 channel out of which you can use any 8. You have to open the Track Info fro each track you wish to record on and select one of the channels from the Input PopUp menu (Each track must be assigned a different channel).
Next you have to turn on the Record Enable button for each track (the first button in the group with the headphone and lock icons)
I'm not sure about your 1 beat problem, can you give some more details?

  • Cannot hook up my mic with M-Audio Solo Firewire: Final and/or Garage Band

I have Final Cut Pro 5, a new MXL V67 microphone, and an M-Audio Firewire Solo Interface and I cannot record my voice.
I'm not sure if I have everything hooked up right: I have a firewire going from the Solo to my computer, and the mic is plugged into the Solo. I think my settings are correct. Should there be another cable going from the Solo to my computer? I've tried going through Garage Band too...no luck.
The other strange thing is that when I click on the M-Audio Solo Firewire icon on my hard drive, (to set up the settings) it keeps telling me that the firewire device is not showing up. BUT..it IS showing up in Garage Band and Final Cut...it's just not picking up any audio. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program too...it also made my computer crash a few times.
    Help please!!
    Thanks
    Quad G5   Mac OS X (10.4)

I use the M-Audio Firewire solo and it works like a charm. But you need to make sure you have the latest driver from M-Audio -- they update for nearly every OS X upgrade, including the minor upgrades (e.g., from 10.3 to 10.4). And you need to start the M-Audio software (from the System Preferences pane) BEFORE you open the Voice Over tool in FCP. Hope this helps.

  • M-Audio 410 Audio Interface

I'm new to garage band and still looking for an audio interface. I have heard that there have been major issues with drivers for the M-Audio 410, anyone have any wisdom on this? I would appreciate someone telling me if this is easy to use with the new intel macs using Leopard 10.5. And, what problems do exist with this unit? And if it isn't worth buying, what is?
Just doing basic recording from home, guitar and vocals. Thanks.

I have heard that there have been major issues with drivers for the M-Audio 410
i don't think they have drivers for 10.5.x yet, but you can check, there are driver links here:

take a look at the Inspire, it's cheaper and requires no drivers (top quality Mic PREs as well):

  • Mic problems with all boards thread! What do we do to fix this or do we need a new boa

I have come the conclusion that this is not just a mic problem but a uni'versal line in problem since several devices can be connected thru my SoundBlaster Li've! 24-bit line in port. I'm assuming its a software problem and it seems to be a common problem. The second possibilty is that part of the board is either defected or assembled incorrectly. Either way everyone seems to have made sure that:
    A. there drivers are up to date.
    B. they have dissabled any other audio device in windows or in BIOS.
    C. there mic won't work no matter what port they attempt.
    D. creative software changes of audio devices and mixer still don't change anything.
I came on here for answers yet all i find is questions.
And all seem to be pretty similar. There are many other posts pertaining individual audio cards, yet they all have the same problem. If your having the same problem post here and keep this thread ali've, if you have an answer to your own problems you'd like to share post it here. Hoping for a Creative response to either my post or one of the many other posts on the same subject.Message Edited by syferus on 09-23-2005 0:30 AM

If you have a PCI-GPIB card, you needn't worry about the USB port or whether or not Windows ME supports 1394. All you need in NI-488.2 version 1.70 from National Instruments. Install this driver and then insert your card. Windows should detect the card and find the proper driver.
If this did not happen in the proper sequence, look in the device manager and see if the card was installed as an "other device". If this happens, remove the card in the device manager and have windows redetect it. If this is not a solution, you may consider the ask an engineer page at www.ni.com/ask. Provide as many details as possible.

  • Audio stuttering dropouts-capture problem

Problem: Intermittent audio dropouts when playing back a capture
from within FCP. It can be fine for many minutes, and then sections
where the audio sounds like quick and repeated missing information—
like a CD that is skipping. The video always looks fine, even in
    these problematic sections
    My equipment: Powerbook G4 17”, 2megsRam, FCP 5.04. OSX 10.4.7,
    Cannon XL2 camera.
In order to solve, we just bought from Tekserve: G-Raid 500megb,
hooked up to the internal firewire 800 port, and a new Iogear
Firewire Cardbus adapter—so the camera can be hooked up to this
    separate Firewire bus.
Software settings: the video tape (miniDV) was shot in 30p mode. I
have duplicated the FCP stock DV NTSC preset settings, and duplicated
them so that the scanning is set to Progressive, instead of
Interlaced. This is the only change. The camera was set to just
record channels 1&2 (as is the FCP capture presets), so it is not an
issue of the channel 3&4 audio.
The audio plays back fine from the camera itself. It is just the FCP
capture that has the problem. No other devices were hooked up to the
laptop at the time of capture, except for a wireless Microsoft
Mouse. The problem does exist even after we transferred a copy of
the media files to another computer—so it is the file itself.
    Any thoughts?

Thanks for your suggestion, but I’m afraid it didn’t help. A render-only Mixdown of audio still had the problem. In fact, you hear the problem consistently at he same place on the master captured file, playing in the viewer. It seems to only happen on long master clips. (I typically capture in 15 minute blocks, then subclip from here). To solve the problem, I have been creating another subclip of the problem area, making it offline, then recapturing just this small clip where the problem lies. I’m missing my work deadlines because of this.
Any other ideas? Could it be my camera—which is still fairly new—needs a professional cleaning? Could it just be a problem with Canon and Firewire? Would a Powerbook Pro help?

  • Firewire Solo, Problems

I got M-Audio's FireWire Solo for Christmas. I want to record with my mic and guitar, but Garageband isn't picking it up on the input/output screen. All I have connected to the FW Solo is the power chord, the firewire to connect it to my mac, and the guitar chord. What should I do?

Have you installed the driver software? Current version is 1.8.2 (from the Digi site).
Don't connect the hardware until the software has been installed and the system shut down.
Then plug it in and reboot your Mac.
Also, if you don't see a FireWire Solo preference pane in your System Preferences, you haven't installed the m-audio software correctly.

  • Help with m-audio 410

i just bought an m-audio 410 audio interface. im trying to get it to work with logic so that i can run my guitar into it... but i just don't understand how. i installed the driver. i plugged my guitar into input 1, then put the fire wire into the computer, and logic dosnt respond.... how do i get it to respond? i want to start using more than one track for recording. for instance micing a drum kit so that i have a bass drum on one track and a snare on another. anybody have any experience or does anyone just know how?

Be sure you have the Firewire 410 selected as your main device.

  • Help needed with HTC One regarding mic problem with noise cancellation

I picked up an HTC One last week, and so far I am loving the phone.  Great build quality, screen, sound - all as advertised.
However, there is one very annoying problem I am having.  When I am talking to someone, I can gear them great, but they keep telling me I sound muffled or robotic.  I performed some tests, and the problem appears to be something with the dual microphones and the HTC One's noise cancellation features.
Here are the tests I ran:
Typical phone call, with holding the phone as I normally do on the sides and to my ear.  Call result, pretty muffled voice.  I'd give the call quality a 5/10.
Help the phone as I typically do, but covered the mic hole on the back of the phone.  This definatelyimproved call quality.  Was louder and clearer, but not perfect.  I'd rate it at 8/10.
Help the phone towards the bottom, using my hand to kind of cup the bottom directing the sound to the bottom mic.  This was a further improvement in sound quality.  Rating would be 9/10.
Help phone as normal, but covered the bottom mic hole.  Very low volume and muffled sound.  Rating a 4/10.
Talked directly into the bottom of the phone into the bottom mic.  This gave perfect call quality and volume.  Rating a 10/10!
Talked directly into the mic on the back of the phone. Horrible quality, couldn't hear hardly anything. Rating 0/10.
Speaker phone on, held the phone up and moved it around as I would normally use a speaker phone.  Call quality was really nice.  Id give it 9/10.
Speaker phone on, covered back mic hole and used speaker phone as in #7.  Very bad quality, rating 1/10 for call quality.
Speaker phone on, covered bottom mic and help speaker phone in hand.  Really good quality, even an improvement over test #7.  Would give the call quality a 9.5/10.
Speaker phone on, placed face down on table.  Volume a bit low, a little muffled.  Call quality 6/10.
Speaker phone on, place face up on table.  A bit worse than test #10, low volume and a bit muffled.  Call quality is 5/10.
Based on these tests, I know this problem has nothing to do with the network CDMA connection.  It is obvious that the noise cancellation features are a bit too aggressive, or I have some hardware problem with one or both mics.
I question wether its really a hardware mic problem, because on non-speaker phone calls, talking directly into the bottom mic gives great quality.  And on Speaker phone, covering the bottom mic makes the speaker phone sound really good.  That's why I think there's something going on with the "Sense Sound" noise cancellation.
Is anyone else seeing the same issues?  I want to be able to hold the phone normal on a non speaker phone call and get good quality.
Looking for any tips and advice anyone can give.  Is it worth exchanging for a new one, as I am still in my 14 day window.
Thanks in advance for the help!

  • MIDI Server Can't Be Opened - M-Audio 410 corrupts MIDI-server after using Lemur?

    Dear people,
I hope you can help me out on this one.
I recently purchased the Liine Lemur-app for my iPad. For CoreMIDI connection I use a combo of the Neusonik iM/One interface with a M-Audio Midisport Uno. I have a MacBook Pro 15'' 2Ghz Intel Core i7 running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4.
It's been working smoothly with Logic and my studio interface (TC Electronic Studio Konnekt 48) up until today when I connected my computer to my live audio interface, an M-Audio 410.
Now, I suddenly can't use any of my MIDI inputs at all and when trying to open my Apple MIDI Utility I receive an error message stating: "Midi Server Cannot Be Opened".
I've repared disc permissions and tried deleting old drivers in Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers, but nothing works.
Is it possible that my setup with Liine via usb has corrupted my CoreMIDI? Or do any of you have a clue what's going on?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks.
    Best, Anders Bach, Denmark

Just noticed you are using 2  M-Audio MIDI devices, the MIDISport Uno and the MIDI portion of the 410.
Let me clarify... the M-Audio 410 Core MIDI driver is not compatible.
The Uno is probably a system compliant device that doesn't use a driver, I'm betting the 410 installs a MIDI driver with the installation package.

  • SB Xtreme Audio Notebook optical out problem with Home TheaterSystem-HELP!

JSB Xtreme Audio Notebook optical out problem with Home TheaterSystem-HELP!, I have this sound card connected?(optical OUT) ?to my home?theater system's digital IN ?through the recommended /8in. optical miniplug-to-optical SPDIF cable. Theater system is set correctly to Digital-In mode. I have no sound!
The cable is a Velocity Toslink-to-Optical Mini Plug digital cable. I don't see any settings in the Creative Console Launcher. The notebook is a Dell XPS M730 (Vista 32).
I have a PS3, DirecTV, and the SB Xtreme Audio Notebook cable on a hub switch that connects to the system's?one Optical IN. The PS3 and DirecTV sound perfect!
The sound card works fine with standard PC speakers. I'm at a loss as?to what to try next. I set this whole system up myself, so I'm pretty good at working out the kinks, except this one!
    Karen

OK. I just went to Control Panel - Sound - Playback - Digital Output Device (SB Xtreme Audio Notebook) - Properties - Advanced. I experimented with different sample rates and bit depths. Clicked the test button and lo and behold - sound from the HTS! I've tried iTunes, PowerDVD (configured to digital output) and YouTube - no sound! Am I missing something really obvious?
HA! Just backed out to Playback and selected Digital Output Device (SPDIF) and set as Default. Sound is emunating from HTS! Well, that mystery is solved! Who knew.
Thanks anyway! Any comments or advice will still be appreciated.

    Hiii
I have iPhone 4S which is having mic problem i guess.During voice calls the call receiver at other end unable to hear my voice on handset mode but on speaker mode he can hear my voice.
Also wanted to know in which country my phones warrenty is valid .

    Hi Alankar,
Make sure your iPhone case is not covering the mic. It is on the bottom to the right or left of the connector. Have you tried a call without a case on the phone?
Your Model Number indicates that this is a US phone, so the warranty would be valid in the US.

does anyone know if m-audio 410 will work with OS 10.8?

The Canon UFR2 v2.41 driver for 10.7 that was released last month also works fine on 10.8.
This driver is for UK English regions where your model is known as the iR1024iF. If you want to check the Canon USA web site for the US English version of the UFR2 v2.41 driver then you should get the correct model name.
