M-Audio C400 won't receive any audio output in Mavericks

I recently bought a M-audio C400 and a pair of KRK RoKit RP8 speakers for my studio. But the C400 wont receive ant output signal from my Mac.
The computer runs OSX Mavericks and have been working with USB audio output before.
Is this a problem you're aware of or might the hardware suffer from some malfunction?

Won't receive any iCloud confirmation e-mail to verify my adress.

I've been trying to send the confirmation e-mail from the iCloud tab in system preferences several times, but I never get any e-mail. At first I thought it was something wrong with my mail app but I've talked to my web host and they said my e-mail server never recieved any e-mail at all.
Then I tried to connect an alternative e-mail(hotmail, that I never uses) to my Apple-ID and it woked fine to send an confirmation e-mail to that address, but of course I want to use my primary e-mail, that I've used for Apple-ID since I signed up.
Anyone who got a suggestion of what to do?

The iCloud Support page suggests that you close and reopen the iCloud System Preferences pane before logging in again.
If that doesn't work it sounds like there might be something amiss on Apple's end, particularly since the Apple ID verification page isn't working. It might be best to use the Contact Support link at the bottom left of the Apple - Support - Apple ID page.

IMac Facetime won't receive calls after upgrade to Mavericks

Hi all,
I am experiencing a strange issue with Facetime on my 2012 iMac running Mavericks.
Here's the deal:
Upgraded my iMac and MacBook Air to Mavericks
I am able to PLACE calls from all machines (so my account seems to be working fine)
When being called my iMac won't respond...no message, no sound, no nothing...plays dead man
My MacBook Air behaves normally (also Mavericks)
I have tried all of the following:
disabled and re-enabled Facetime (to maybe override some config issue inherited from before the upgrade)
tried to receive calls with and without Facetime running
rebooted...several times
all the latest updates are installed
I have not (knowingly) changed anything after the upgrade. "Don't disturb" is off and Facetime calls are allowed for everyone.
Any ideas?

Hi all, Problem not solved yet.
Maybe you can give your 2 cents to my working hypothesis:
Could it be that some background process/service is used to continuously monitor incoming requests/calls? Could it be that this process fires up Facetime and forwards incoming calls (Facetime calls are received without Facetime running, right? So something must capture them...)? Could it be that in my case this process is either not running or configured incorrectly (account, password)?
Maybe you can put me on the right track?!

I've upgraded to OS 10.8.2 and my Bowers and Wilkins MM-1 Speakers were working fine until today, and now they won't play any sound at all, even though iTunes shows the audio is playing. I've tried both the headphone jack and the USB port. Please help!

Thanks. I haven't mixed down the audio or checked the number of tracks in Prefs. Good points.
As far as a mixdown goes, I'll definitely give it a try, though I wonder whether or not the tracks will be recognized during mix down recording - given that you can't hear either of those segments in playback. Just have to try.
Re the preferred number of allowed tracks - I'll go check as soon as I send this off, but I'm not sure that applies in this case, since the two Channels containing the segments that are pinked out are not in additional tracks. I should have mentioned that other audio clips and segments on the same Channels in the SAME tracks ARE heard in playback. As are two additional track in the 2nd Sequence. It's only when the two sequences are joined that the pink tinted segments can't be heard. Within the sequence the same audio cuts playback as they should. Thanks again &

How to connect Digital Optical Audio output iMac with Receiver Input

I have connected iMac with onkyo hts-3300 home theater system receiver through optical audio TosLink Cable.( http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Optical-Audio-TosLink-Cable/dp/B001ZU3G2I/ref=sr12?ie=UTF8&qid=1292865309&sr=8-2 ). Unfortunately there is no sound coming out from the Home theater system. I have verified the Receiver optical input is working fine by connecting with my TV optical audio digital out put and the it's working great. The only difference between TV and iMac is, on my TV, it has optical audio digital output and I can use this cable (http://www.amazon.com/Tripp-Lite-A102-02M-Digital-connectors/dp/B0002WPREU/ref=s r11?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1297320792&sr=1-1) to make it work. I can also verified my optical audio TosLink Cable working because I can see the red light coming out from the cable. So the only problem could be from iMac. I doubt I need to change the additional setting to configure iMac to use external optical audio setting instead of the buit in audio setting. Hoe can I able to do it? or my iMac(IMAC 21.5"/3.06/2X2GB/500GB/9400M-ITP

So this airportexpress will only help you connect wirelessly to home theatre system, rather than waired connection. Other than that nothig much difference. So there is no point for me to spend extra bucks to attain the wireless connection. Unless the airportexpress have optical digital input, which i believe not. Correct me if I m worng, thanks

I recently downloaded the lastest OS update (Lion X 10.7.4) on my MBP that I purchased in November of 2011, and since downloading it my MBP has been making a constant "humming" noise from the right speaker/disc drive area. I also don't have any audio output for FaceTime or Skype. I attempted to use Photo Booth to record a video and it doesn't record any audio. I attempted to reset SMC and reinstall Lion with no resolution of the problems.

Click the Finder icon on the Dock.

Output tab
Move the Master volume slider to the right a bit.

I have reset the iPad, tried iOS7 and iOS8 resets, which didn't help. The audio output mostly works when headphones are out in, but has a tendency to cut out from time to time. Without headphones, Audio might start working again briefly from time to time, but most the time it doesn't. Any ideas on what is wrong with it and how to fix it?
my iPad is a 3rd gen, 16GB wifi only model, if that helps

iOS 8 isn't even out yet. If you are running iOS 8, I assume you are a developer and if you are, you are in the wrong forum to try to get help. If you are not a developer and you're running iOS 8, maybe that's why you are having problems on the iPad.

And you know they are incorrect because you get sound here and there from time to time? That fact doesn't prove that something isn't working correctly inside. You could very well have a bad connection inside the device causing this, but somehow you seem to know that's not the case.

Virgin Mobile iPhone 4 won't receive texts from any service but Sprint?

I bought a Virgin Mobile iPhone the other day and activated it and everything seems to work fine except for the fact I can't receive text messages. At first, I thought I couldn't receive any texts at all. Then I received a text from my sister, who is on the Boost Mobile network (which I believe runs on Sprint). I have called Virgin Mobile so many times over this issue and they have basically told me they don't know why it is doing this. Does anyone know why this could be happening or what I can do? And also, I bought the $55 unlimited everything plan.

Open Audio Midi Setup in Applications>Utilities, see the input & output options & KHz setting there, some things will change it for their own use, then not set it back.

Apple TV2 missing analog audio output for multi-zone system

Found out the hard way that most receivers can't support digital audio in multiple zones (i.e., Zone 2). Since Apple TV2 (ATV2) dispensed with any analog output, if you have a whole-house system that depends on mult-zone to distribute audio to various speakers, you won't be able to use ATV2 to stream music to anything other than Zone 1. The only outputs are HDMI and optical (both digital audio). I think I found a work around (which, of course costs more money) which is a "de-embedding" device from Atlona that takes HDMI in and splits out the audio to analog and passes the HDMI through to the receiver. The analog audio output then lets me connect to the analog in on the receiver so it can stream to all zones. I figure Apple just didn't have enough real estate on the new product to make room for analog, but it's a pain. Hope this helps someone. If anyone knows a better work-around, I'd love to hear it.

I have the same issue with a MacMini I use for music. My solution was to use an inexpensive optical splitter - one feed to the optical input of my receiver and the second to a DAC. Then run standard RCA audio cables from the DAC to the analog Zone 2 inputs.
