M-Audio Leopard Drivers

According to M-Audio, Apple, and nearly 100 other sources I've come across online through google, Leopard was not (possibly IS not) compatible with M-Audio USB Midi Keyboard Controllers.
M-Audio made an update on their website to say that they've developed the drivers and that they're now available, however as far as their class compliant products go M-Audio won't provide a link for download as they haven't updated these individual product's pages.
Class compliant means no drivers necessary no matter the operating system pretty much. So when you check out the page on m-audio.com that says rivers are updated and available on each products driver page, I proceed to the Keystation 49e page and select Mac OS X (10.5.1) where the old non updated page remains linkless stating "Product is Class compliant and does not require drivers to work with Mac OS X"
Both Apple and M-Audio admit that Class Compliant or not, these products didn't (don't) work with Leopard and that they had to create a new driver to make them functional.
My dilemma is, does anyone know where to get these supposed drivers M-Audio has made? Because their website definitely isn't the right place as they haven't updated individual product driver pages yet.

would you happen to know how I can get a driver that works for an M-Audio Ozonic MIDI keyboard. I downloaded the upgrade beta version on M-audio but not luck in running it...any suggestions?

  • Xp 64 m audio revolution drivers?

    any one seen the xp 64 m-audio revolution drivers out there? or anything compatible? It sucks that my xp 64 doesn't have sound

    The m audio sound card is suppose to be better for sound quality. But I guess if I use the spdif it wouldn't make difference. or would it?

  • M-Audio FW1814 drivers

    Hi. Is anyone out there using this audio interface?. I have one at home with Macbook Pro 10.4.8 and 13 at a college with Intel iMacs currently on 10.4.7. Sound quality excellent, records well etc, but at work odd problems like continually having to reset them after logging off, or switch off and on when inputs 3 & 4, or 5 & 6, on rear not working (sound module inputs).
    Does anyone know whether the 10.4.8 maudio driver is actually any different (it looks the same) - I'm wondering whether to upgrade the iMacs to 10.4.8.
    Thanks

    The current two drivers for the FW410 (same drivers as the 1814 I think) didn't work for me at all well in 10.4.8, I had to revert to the previous release to get them to work.
    I haven't seen anything that makes me want to try 10.4.9 yet, so I'll hold off for a while yet. If I need to do it, I'll clone my drive first and then check whether all the necessary stuff works. Most reports I've have seen so far suggests that there aren't any real issues with the 10.4.9 update yet.
    I wonder if there is Leopard specific stuff in there (like 10.3.9 contained Tiger specific stuff) that means eventually you'll need 10.4.9 when the developers to release Leopard specific apps, if you haven't jumped to Leopard...

  • Will Snow Leopard drivers typically work with Lion?

    I'm sure that it varies per driver obviously, but I'm going to be switching from a PC soon, and I would like to use an external USB audio interface for recording audio. However, Tascam has discontinued the product, and they only supported it through Snow Leopard. Do people tend to have luck using drivers for Snow Leopard with Lion? Thank you!

    Don't count on them working for hardware other than maybe printers.

  • My solution for No Audio -- Conexant drivers and Windows 7 x64

    My son and I have the L2000 laptop that came with 32 bit XP and used the Conexant chipset for Audio. I had been using an SB Audigy PCMCIA card so I am not sure when Audio was really lost; however, he noticed it when I upgraded his PC. I scoured various forums looking for 64 bit  Windows 7 drivers for Conexant audio but to no avail. Microsoft and Conexant both said that HP should supply the drivers. By the way HP, the Conexant website says that they do not supply drivers even though they make the chipsets "at the request of the OEM's." Another post said that HP was not going to supply these drivers for Windows 7. The solution from HP for my model and Windows 7 was the "HP Software Advisor" which was 67MB and totaly useless. It appears that this is a very common problem. Anyway, here is what you do:
    First you need 2 files which ironically enough come from HP, they are SP35558.exe and SP35558.cva They contain the Conexant drivers for Vista x64. (I subsequently have found the 32 bit drivers and the procedure should be very similar except the files are SP34789.exe and SP34789.cva). Type the following into your browser address bar ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/ About half way down you will find the sub-directory with these files. Just right click each one and save to your desktop.
    Double click SP35558.cva and tell Windows to use Notepad to open it. Scroll about half way down to "[Operating Systems]" and after "WV64UL=OEM" insert:
    W764HB=OEM
    W764HP=OEM
    W764PR=OEM
    W764UL=OEM
    ( For 32 bit systems use W732HB=OEM, etc.)
    I next went up about 10 lines to "[System information]" and added
    SysId3=0x3091
    SysName3=HP Pavilion ze2000 series
    SysId4=0x3096
    SysName4=Compaq presario M2000 series

    SysName7=Compaq Presario M2000 series
    SysId8=0x3093
    SysName8=HP Special Edition L2000 series
    I got this information from another cva file on my PC at C;/swsetup/ This is the directory where HP updates default to.
    After modding the cva file, I saved it to C;/swsetup/sp35558/
    I then executed the SP35558.exe file. It did not work the first time -- I missed a line in my cva file. However, I then manually installed the Conexant drivers as follows and voila I had sound, nice crisp clear sound.
    Under Device Manager, right click "Multimedia Audio Device" under "Other" and choose "Update Driver" Then" Browse your PC" and "Choose from a list". Select "Sound, audio and game controllers", then Conexant, then "Have Disk" . Browse to C:/swsetup/sp35558/ and open "cp6308Ba.inf" (64bit remember). Now choose "OK" and ignore any warnings about incompatibility, WHQL, etc. Give it plenty of time, you might think you are in a loop, but you are not. Congratulations, you are done.

    I thought that I would recompile my answer and then mark this thread as solved since it was not a post about a problem but rather how I solved a very common problem that might be of benefit to others.

    The use of the cva file is to streamline the driver install and it is kind of cool if it works. If you cannot find it or you are not successful the first time or you do not want to bother with modding anything, do not worry, the manual install will work for sure.
    Run sp35558.exe to extract everything and let it strike out. Then go to Device Manager and update the driver manually as follows:
    Under Device Manager, right click "Multimedia Audio Device" under "Other" and choose "Update Driver" Then "Browse your PC" and "Choose from a list". Select "Sound, audio and game controllers", then "Conexant", then "Have Disk". Browse to C:/swsetup/sp35558/ and open "cp6308Ba.inf" (64bit remember). • Blue Screen of Death when I try to install Leopard drivers.

    So, I've been able to use Boot Camp to install Windows XP, SP 2 on my new 20-inch aluminum iMac. This is the same version (same disk, in fact) of Windows that I installed on my old 17-inch iMac, and it worked perfectly then.
    After I finish the Windows installation, and put the Leopard disk in to install the drivers, nothing happens. No Autoplay. When I go into My Computer, and double-click on the cd, the installation process starts. After cycling through 4 drivers, I get the blue screen of death and the computer reboots.
    When everything restarts, Windows tells me that I suffered an error. I can't send an error report off, because Windows won't acknowledge my wireless internet connection yet, without the Apple drivers.
    I've tried to transfer the Boot Camp 2.1 update to the Windows partition via 2g flash drive, and no luck. Trying to run the update doesn't do anything, the icon simply lights up for a moment and then un-highlights. Nothing happens.
    I'm really confused, I didn't have ANY problems like this on my last iMac. Any help anyone might have would be greatly appreciated.

    There IS another way to try this.
    Boot to Windows and right-click My Computer or My Documents and open as "explore". Insert the Leopard disk. If it offers to install STOP it. Click on the LEFT side the plus sign next to the machine's DVD drive icon (the reason we opened the "explore" style directory). The Boot Camp files are now passive but exposed. Next right click My Computer and click properties. Next hardware and then device manager. Now you can one-by-one install the drivers using Windows hardware wizard. You might even want to drag the contents of the Leopard disk (drivers) right on to your (Windows) "desktop". In device manager open Human Interface Devices - you will find Apple Keyboard or whatever an iMac has there. Rightclick and hit Update Driver - the Wizard opens. Click 'no - not this time' and continue. Click 'install from a specific location' and continue. Next the Wizard gives you a 'browse location' option. Just click around until you locate the Boot Camp drivers in your disk or desktop and proceed - it will update, I promise you.

  • Problem installing snow leopard drivers on windows 7 including sound

    Hi,
    I installed windows 7 but then when I inserted the snow leopard dvd to install the boot camp drivers, it doesn't work. When I open it I get two options: either choose Remot Install Mac OS X or CD and DVD Sharing. So this is effecting everything. I can't use a right click with two fingers, or scroll, and the sound doesn't work.
    How do I fix all this?

    How did you install Windows 7? Did you follow the instructions in the Boot Camp Installation & Setup Guide pdf carefully, or use some other method?
    Specifically, do you see a Boot Camp directory with the setup.exe file in it?
    Also note that Apple does not yet officially support Windows 7 with Boot Camp. See About Boot Camp and Windows 7 for more about this.

  • Compaq Presario C754CA Audio & Graphic Drivers?

    Compaq Presario C754CA
    Specifications: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01297770&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3650105&os=228&lang=en
    Date Bought: 1-2 Years Ago
    Original Operating System: Vista
    Current Operating System: Windows XP Professional SP 3 [Version 2002]
    Well, I noticed that HP and Compaq do not supply Windows XP Drivers. I have managed to install the following things:
    Intel Pro [for WiFi]
    Broadcom
    Intel Chipset
    Intel Graphics
    Synaptics Touch Pad
    Microsoft UUA Audio Driver Bus
    Now, I'll just tell you now: I do not know which of the following is my Audio but I have tried both and both have failed.
    Realtech HD Audio
    Conexant Audio Driver
    I install them and I get to the end, and I receive an error about "MEDIA" not being found, thus it stops. I then proceed to the next step: force updating through the Device Manager - Only the Audio doesn't show up on my Device Manager! Originally it did, but now it has refused to appear, thus stumping me further. I will say that even when it was there, though, it refused to update, and claims that "This device has failed to start".
    I have tried IDENTIFYING my Audio Driver for better results through Aida32, Driver Detective, and Driver Scanner. Not only was Driver Detective useless, but the other two either couldn't download / install the proper driver, or didn't even display that there was an Audio device on my PC at all!
    As for the Graphic Driver, I do have it installed, but it won't launch games for me, such as Ragnarok Online, Lineage II, etc. These games are properly done in Set-Up to launch with Direct 3D HAL; the Mobile Chipset is apparently bullcrikes and I've always used Direct 3D HAL / HAL x2 or whatever it was.
    - Questions!
    1) Where can I find the name of the Audio Device on my Presario C754CA laptop?
    2) Where can I find the driver of the Audio Device on my Presario C754CA laptop?
    3) Why does my laptop refuse to launch games I could previously launch on Vista?

    I'm pretty sure my Audio Device is actually:
    Conexant  High Definition Audio-Venice 5045
    What do I do to install this properly?
    [Edit2]
    Here's an image of what my Device Manager looks like:
    http://i651.photobucket.com/albums/uu233/Yusshin/Audio.png
    The "Conexant High Definition Audio-Venice 5045" that you see was installed on an Unknown Device that I don't know what the heck was honestly :\ And there are still 2 unknown devices there; I have nothing connected other than a USB Wi-Fi thing for my mouse and my keyboard. In total, there were 3 Unknown Devices; I just randomly selected one to find the ID of my Audio Device.
    Please help me; I'm a Gamer and I hate Vista. I don't want to go back to it.
    [P.S.] You may notice that I have a Vista skin; I am running XP so do NOT get confused ^^

    I noticed this is your first post, a comprehensive post just for asking XP drivers.
    Please read XP downgrade guide, part 2, here
    Your model, somehow forgot to be listed in part 2, but in general, part 2 should work for your model.
    Read the guide so that you knew the advantages/disadvantages installing XP for your model.
    About your request, try the following drivers

  • M-Audio Delta drivers are broken once again for 10.4.4

    We just got the Delta 2496 card working with Tiger 10.4.3 when M-Audio released their v2.0.5 pkg.
    Now their v2.0.5 is broken on 10.4.4, in precisely the same way pre-2.0.5 was broken on pre-10.4.4.
    We have a vastly upgraded Sawtooth/AGP system. Not going to be able to afford any kind of new machine or upgrades in the seeable future. We're stuck with what we got.
    Point the Sound Panel Prefs to the 2496 card, then make iTunes 6.0.2 or QuickTime 7.0.4 play something. Hear quickly repeating machine-gun sounds, then eventually SystemUIServer will crash, then crashreporterD(aemon) itself crashes! And anything else you try to start will crash, too! Try logging out and Finder will crash -- repeatedly! You then must restart your Mac with the Power Button. I sent Apple a ton of crash reports on this just a little while ago.
    I sent e-mail to [email protected] staff because their web-portal for technical issues is not sending me my temporary password for it there. I have a feeling they will not respond by our deadline of Friday January 13 2006. Had someone posted an official warning about the drivers not working, we would not be in this present predicament. We have a Panther/10.3.9 partition for backup purposes, and this same v2.0.5 driver pkg works fine on it, so will be our only choice to continue our audio projects until/if M-Audio/Apple can fix this 10.4.4 bug.
    (Before you say anything: YES I ran "diskutil repairPermissions /" in single-user mode no less, YES I re-installed the COMBO 10.4.4 update a second time in single-user mode, all this after "/bin/sh /etc/rc" came up, and re-ran repairPermissions YET AGAIN, did the "fsck -fy" thing a third time, result being nothing else is wrong with the updated 10.4.4 system as installed here. It is clearly only when pointing Sound Prefs to use the 2496 card. I don't know if back-level drivers mentioned here e.g. v2.0.3 or v2.0.1 will work with 10.4.4. What I am is STUPID for allowing myself to apparently be the first Guinea Pig for testing M-Audio with a "GM" system update release. I thought that's what Select and Premiere ADC members would be doing ON OUR BEHALF, we who cannot afford such memberships. Yes I am angry about this -- YET AGAIN we get bit like this. GRRRRR.)

    [ Edited by Apple Discussions Moderator ]

    Hi and thank you both for taking time to reply.
    I've known how to fix OSX in single-user mode for quite a few years. Even with these kernel hiccups yesterday, the 10.4.x system needed only minor repairs there.
    The 10.3.9 system here is on another separate internal drive, not partitioned, so it should be unaffected (crossing fingers of course <g>). What's funny is that the latest M-Audio Delta v2.0.5 is working fine on 10.3.9. The reason v2.0.5 will be needed: its MIDI fixes -- previous versions never got it quite right.
    Yes I've learned that 10.3.9 has probably been the best way to fall-back ... Tiger has caused too many changes this past year. But I'm totally spoiled now with 10.4.x's speed and gcc-4.0.1 able to tweak most open-source projects to new heights ... it's tough going back to relatively slow 10.3.9.
    One thing that is not M-Audio's problem but Apple's: right now there is no 10.4.4 Kernel Debug Kit, nor any SDK updates in case headers/APIs/etc. have changed in 10.4.4 or QuickTime 7.0.4 CoreAudio etc. (I just checked). How is Apple suppose to help third parties troubleshoot and update their drivers etc. when these are not made available along with the "GM" stuff?
    I finally got registered at M-Audio's tech site, but no one has yet to reply to my problem record there or via e-mail. Figures. An "I saw it" would be nice, just to know...
    So I did some testing on my own:
    The Delta v2.0.4 pkg IIRC caused the same kernel-type problems on 10.4.3 as v2.0.5 is doing right now on 10.4.4. I already tried running the Delta Uninstaller and put v2.0.5 on on-top of 10.4.4 again, still crashing only when playing audio thru that card.
    I jumped back to Delta v2.0.3 on 10.4.4 just to see if the kernel bugs go away, and so far I haven't seen any oddness, but the audio quality is suffering somewhat (sort-of what some ppl were complaining about QT 7.0.2-.3 back then, so maybe that's what got re-introduced with QT 7.0.4, oy vey).
    But we don't get the MIDI fixes -- that's only in v2.0.5.
    I'm still miffed that someone who has a Select or Premiere membership should have been able to test these very popular cards before 10.4.4/etc. came out. I guess I'll go on record to say: If someone would donate such an account to "me", I would most certainly make sure that happens next time.
    Oh well ... I now need to find out if we can use Delta v2.0.3 & 10.4.4 with jackit+darkice now (if anyone is interested: search for the station call-letters 'KOKF' on the various shoutcast/icecast yellow pages during Friday and Saturday nights (only), that'll be us, yes that's the reason for the deadline). Otherwise we already have tested everything on 10.3.9 so that'll be our fallback, but I will be busy recompiling every project that's been updated while we were up using 10.4.3. Fun fun fun.
    p.s. The "single-user mode" is even safer than "safe mode" to do any repairs or installs. Still do the 'fsck -fy' thing before anything else. Then once the /etc/rc script is run, 10.4.x is still in single-user mode but it has enough of the Mac subsystem running (not just the BSD stuff) so that cmd-line apps such as 'diskutil repairPermissions /', 'hdiutil mount' (for the dmg holding the pkg updates), and 'installer' can do its usual stuff. Yes the network is up then, too. This is only for real *ix geeks that know what they're doing of course. But this mode is about as low-level as it can get to do these kinds of repairs, something Applejack/etc. has yet been designed to do (mount dmgs, do softwareupdate, run installer, etc.). I'm glad there is such a mode, tho, as it provides the least interference to do such repairs.
    Thank you again, at least for letting me belly-ache about these problems.

  • Any way to install Leopard drivers without disc?

    My MacBook Pro is currently running the Leopard OS, but I made the mistake of leaving the discs at home - nearly 3000 miles away, in a sealed storage box. Yes, I made a stupid mistake in packing it away. I'm trying to get Boot Camp set up, and to get the necessary drivers, I need the install disc.
    My question is - is there any way I can get the drivers installed without using the Leopard install disc? Is there a download somewhere that can help me with that? Or am I totally out of luck?

    Sadly, I've been through this too..although, my Mac OS X DVDs were a mere two miles from home. That being said...two miles feels like 3000 when it's -5 degrees fahrenheit outside.
    The most recommended alternative I'm aware of is to grab them through the world of BitTorrent.
    In my case, I ended up downloading individual drivers from the hardware vendors sites...the downside to this is that you'll be missing a lot of the valuable Apple software that's part of the Boot Camp software installer. That got the basics working (video, chipset & networking, etc.) until I remembered to bring the DVD home from work to install actual Boot Camp software.

    Hi Wonka,
    You forgot to mention this:
    VIA audio drivers should not be installed on those systems that utilize third-party audio cards. For third-party audio drivers support please contact your audio card supplier directly.
    Also, most MSI boards don't use this as far as I know....

  • HP 1006 printer not working with new Snow Leopard drivers

    My MacBook Pro is connected to my HP 1006 LaserJet via TimeCapsule. After trashing the HP folder in Library>Printers, I downloaded the latest drivers, and restarted the MacBook. I opened a document to print, and selected the HP printer from the Printer drop down. The Printer opens in the dock, and when I click on it, the Status of the job is printing, but it hangs on a message that reads, "Printer busy; will retry in 10 seconds…" then nothing happens.
    Any thoughts?

    Same issues here...same setup. This has been an intermittent issue for some time now. My latest incident was when power was lost during one of the big snow storms. Print jobs hang when going trough Time Capsule (wired or wireless) but are fine if plugged into computers USB port. I have resolved this issue before by following similar steps outlined above, but the solution seem to be hit or miss.

  • Leopard drivers crash HP 2100 printer font

    Since upgrading from 10.4 to 10.5, printing to out HP LaserJet 2100s causes them to crash and require the printer to be power cycled.
    The HP reported errors in the logs are 79.01BF and 79.0F80. These are "service errors" which can be caused by software or hardware. Since it happens on multiple printers and is new with the MacOS 10.5 upgrade, I am betting software.
    Also, documents printed with the "Papyrus" font: The first page had a rectangle in place of the first letter on the page - a capital D. On the second page every lowercase t was replaced by a rectangle.
    I'm confused... and frustrated.
    I know the 2100 is an old printer, but we have a lot of them and they worked fine before the upgrade. Can we revert to older printer drivers?

    Hello re:
    You might try downloading from the HP web site - if they are posted there.
