M-Audio Ozonic and LE7

Hi all ...
Newbie question here ... I'll cut to the chase. How can I get LE to recognize my keyboard? It has a built in audio interface and I've connected it via fire-wire. Any help would be appreciated ... I have no sound. I've signed up for Pro-care at my local Apple store but wanted to try something before my first session.
Thanks, in advance.
Dave

Hey I feel your pain. Here's what you do. Go to M-Audio's Website and download the latest drivers and install. Make sure that the ozonic is not plugged in when you install the drivers. Restart your computer and then Plug the Ozonic back to your computer. After that Load up logic express and then Click on Logic Express in the Menu Bar, then Click prefrences, then click start Logic setup assistant. Follow the directions and you should be able to use your ozonic after that.

  • M-audio ozone driver

    Hello
i have just bought a m-audio ozone and i need to connect it with my computer.
the instruction for installing the m-audio driver are not clear on the manual.
i have OS X and they give instructions detailed for OS 9 saying that before installing the driver i have toinstall opcode OMS.
does somebody knows if this is true also for OS X? ora i can install direclty the driver?

    Hi,
I am not an audio expert but when doing a Google search, I found a page with the syetm requirements.
It looks as if "opcode OMS (Open Music System)" is not needed under OSX.

The same info is present on the site of the supplier

Why not give it a try without or ... contact the supplier

  • LE7 settings Enigma (M-Audio Ozonic)

Is there somebody who want to share or know about a user bank to load into the Enigma software to get good settings for LE7 in the M-audio Ozonic soundcard/controller.

  • M-Audio Ozone Fixed with 10.5.3 Update

I updated to Leopard a few months ago and immediately lost use of my M-Audio Ozone as an audio interface. Midi worked fine and audio would work for about 30 seconds at a time. It was completely unusable in Logic or Garageband. After trying a bunch of different things to make it work, the only reliable solution was running Logic on Tiger, which was not a convenient solution, so I bought a Presonus Inspire, which worked has been working very well.
I took the plunge on the 10.5.3 update today and decided to test the Ozone again, and I'm pleased to say it works great once again.

yes it FINALLY WORKS, all ways had issues, in fact all m- audio did and allot still do but ozone works well stable now.
one thing to be aware of that is easy to work around, if you come back out of sleep on your computer, you may hear goggling noise like you do when your low on ram and trying to run a plug in with live recording monitoring, all you have to do is shut off the ozone, select internal sound, turn the ozone back on, select it when Logic tells you that it detected another interface and poof, works like a charm.
The ozone used to gargle its way out of the computer or even cause freezing when restarting it in the past, i have had mine on for a week and did all the above with no problem at all, and i use pro tools m powered as well (no midi) removed that to avoid hassle.
    best of luck

  • M-Audio Ozone compatible with Garage Band?

I'm trying to set up a very basic setup so my father can mess with Garage Band. Does anyone know if the M-Audio Ozone is compatible with GB? I'd like to be able to use the microphone and DI inputs as well as the midi functions. Thanks for your help!

I have never used one but there should be no reason why the Midi and audio interface would not work. I don't think the control surface part will have full function, not that is a big deal.

  • M-Audio Ozone not sending audio to macbook with 10.5

    Hey Gang
I've got a brand new macbook and installed the drivers for my m-audio ozone today. Although I can select the Ozone as the audio input (and output) device both within Garageband and in my system preferences, the audio input level (under details in the info pane on the right) is greyed out and is all the way down so there is no way to have any input volume on this device and therefore no audio gets from the Ozone to the mac. I read a thread on here that was posted in February but it didn't seem to be resolved. Any ideas?
    Thanks!
    Chuck

what kind of mic do you have plugged into the ozone?

  • M-Audio Ozone whine

    Hi folks,
I have an M-Audio Ozone, USB midi and audio interface connected to my iBook. (G4, 1.33gHz, 768MB RAM, OSX 10.4.9))
Whenever I load up Logic Express a faint whine starts to appear from my speakers.
Shutting down logic stops the noise.
It also appears if the Ozone is still connected and I play a song via iTunes or Quicktime.
I've downloaded the latest driver from the M-Audio site and tried using different connection cables and output jacks on the Ozone, all without success.
Has anyone else come across a similar problem?
    Thanks,
    Robert.

There have been cases of reported whine with some Mac's.
The solution I am aware of has been to download the CHUD tool from Apple's developer site.
It will add 'Processor' to the system pref's. Older versions show a 'Hardware" preference panel instead.
Open it and uncheck 'Allow Nap'.
    http://acapella.harmony-central.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=208800&d= 1157836667
    Versions here:
    ftp://ftp.apple.com/developer/ToolChest/Testing_-_Debugging/Performancetools/
However depending on your computer the newest version may or may not show the Allow Nap checkbox.
If it doesn't, unistall with CHUD remover before installing another.
I would try 3.5.2 with a G4 and look for Hardware preference panel.

  • Do I have to use the same Audio Output and Input source???

In logic express 7.2.3 I can get everything to work fine except when I want to set my sound output to be different than the input device.
I want the Audio Input to be : "Roland USB device"
I want the Audio Output to be "Built in Output"
This works perfectly in Garage Band but not in LogicExpress 7.
As far as I can tell core audio in Logic only gives you the option to use the same device for input and ouput. This makes it impossible for me to record guitar or bass parts in Logic because in order to hear anything in Logic I have to set my systems sounds prefs to use my USB device for both Audio In and Out. This means the guitar is playing through my speakers regardless if LE7 is running or not... and when it is running I hear the guitar at speaker level which means I can't hear it at mix level or any of the effects that may be applied to it.
    Help please!
macbook pro   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Thanks... I did that but and it works (sort of ) but now there is a HUGE amount of latency. The audio also starts to crackle after a while. I know this input device is a few years old and the latency could be better but it works completely fine with Garage Band so I'm not sure what to do.

  • Unable to connect to m audio ozone midi kybd after updates

Ive just done the latest osx software updates and now am unable to connect to m audio ozone midi kybd after. Is this a coincidence, is my ozone kybd at fault or is the the latest of a string of problems I seem to now have with my mac? see other topics ive just posted

Frantic wrote:Well, I don't think it's an option when I take my laptop somewhere to ask the person to turn on his ssid broadcast because the "so cool" laptop can't connect to it otherwise
I wasn't aware this was not on your own network. That of course narrows down your options considerably.
Please don't hijack the thread on this, but by hiding the ssid vs just setting a obfuscated name lets this decision pass as a network security and not as a social or privacy-related concern (which it really is).
I don't see in the slightest how I would be hijacking your thread. Hijacking a thread means asking your own question in someone else's thread. I am merely pointing out it might help during troubleshooting, and that it is frequently known to cause problems with Linux.
And no - hidden SSIDs aren't a 'security' feature. It's not because you can't see it scanners can't see it or intercept the SSID in traffic . I'll leave it at that.
Also - and this might be relevant to your problem - I found this article which states
It's a violation of the 802.11 specification to keep your SSID hidden; the 802.11i specification amendment (which defines WPA2, discussed later) even states that a computer can refuse to communicate with an access point that doesn't broadcast its SSID.
    And, for the incredulous:
And, even if you think your SSID is hidden, it really isn't.
Maybe the IPW3495 driver's 802.11 implementation got tightened, have you tried using an older kernel?

  • Using M-Audio Ozone w/GB

I am new to this and just set up an M-Audio Ozone to use as audio interface for GB 3.0.4. I ran a mic into the Ozone, but can barely hear it when I choose a "real instrument-vocals track". In the track info, it won't let me adjust the volume under "input". help??
    Thanks in advance...

that's a line-level jack, it's the same as trying to plug it right into your Mac:

  • M-Audio Ozone problem

    Hi,
Anyone else using an M-Audio Ozone on an Intel Mac?
Since switching from iBook to Macbook I've been unable to use my M-Audio Ozone midi/audio i/f.
On installing the original drivers that came with it I could hear sound but MIDI appeared not to work.
Opening prefs and selecting Ozone, I was informed that it would only work on PPC.
I then downloaded an update from the M-audio site and now I don't even get sound.
Opening it in prefs now says "unable to connect to m-audio ozone is it connected?".
I've tried uninstalling and re-installing a couple of times, to no avail.
    Any ideas appreciated.

    Thanks for the reply.
I just reinstalled the original drivers then upgraded to the latest from their website again and am back to having sound but no MIDI.
I've dropped M-Audio tech-support a note so I'll wait and see what they say.

  • A few questions before I buy Logic Pro (also anyone use M-Audio Ozone w/it?

Hello. I just bought a mac (my first one). I plan on getting Logic Pro, but have a few questions.
-Do I need an audio interface to use the program?
-Does anyone use the M-Audio Ozone with Logic? If so, do you recommend it? I know USB isn't as fast as Firewire
-If the Ozone isn't a good audio interface, which M-Audio interface do you recommend? (i might be using Protools M-Powered as well so that's why I want M-Audio)
-Is there a plugin similar to McDSP Filterbank for Logic?
I won't have too much hardware so I don't need too many ins/outs.
    Thanks

Ok well do you have a piano? If you take courses you probably need a full piano unless you only want to do synths and pop music, the Ozone will not do. Do take this into consideration, 25 keys is very very small. The cheapest best piano IMHO is the Yamaha P60; piano playing needs weighted keys.
The audio interface converts analog sound to digital and transfers it to the computer. The latency comes from the transport (firewire, usb, IDE), from the computer (software, operating system and drivers) and from the analog/digital conversion. The audio interface also does the reverse, it provides many outputs for speakers and headphones. It can also optionaly provide MIDI I/O.
There are MIDI only input/outputs too, which allow you to plug in any MIDI device, such as a Yamaha P60 piano for instance.
The controller is usually a piano like device (some aren't, they provide only buttons) that sends MIDI information to other MIDI devices (like Logic, via the computer's MIDI I/O). Synths can act as MIDI controllers but provide much more (such as the ability to generate sound).
The Ozone is both, it displays itself as a MIDI controller through it's keyboard and 8 control knobs, as well as an audio interface with 2 inputs and 1 output. That's why it's good at what it does, it's cheap and compact and does all basic IO. But if you won't record anything, a normal MIDI controller is enough. But if you have monitors, maybe the output from the Mac isn't good enough. In terms of sonic quality the Ozone is okay.

  • Beats Audio Software and On Screen Volume and Brightness Icons Not Showing

    Hi,
I have a HP Envy 6 Ultrabook 6-1010ea, It had to have a new hard drive due to hardware failure and now I have it back I can't find the beats audio symbol and the associated software, also the on screen displays of the volume control and broightness icons don't appear anymore, when I download certain drivers to solve the issues each one doesn't see, to work with the other, I can get sound back on the internet OR the icons back.
If you could help I'd be very greatful, thanks.

    Hi:
You should be able to use this audio driver for the Beats audio.

  • Hi i upgrade from lion to mountain lion to day on my mini mac,Since the upgrade i am getting no sound through my HDMI cable which was working fine on lion Checked the midi audio settings and system preferences to out on HDMi nothing no sound whats so ever

Hi i upgraded from lion to mountain lion to day on my mini mac,Since the upgrade i am no longer getting sound through my HDMI cable which was working fine on lion Checked the midi audio settings and system preferences to out on HDMi nothing no sound whats so ever.Any one any ideas?
I use a samsung TV for my monitor via HDMI.Tried all the system Audi setting nothing .Head phone and internal speakers are fine.

Similar issue; Audio was working fine on Lion, now not on Mountain Lion. Have a Macbook Pro early 2011 with AMD Radeon HD 6750M, connected by thunderbolt through a Lacie LBD to a mini-displayport to HDMI adapter (n.b. same problem when not going through the LBD) to a Pioneer VSX 521 AV receiver. For me when I go into audio Midi settings all the volume sliders for the displayport device are greyed out and at zero. But when I click 'configure speakers', it's able to send out the test signals to each speaker. Part of the problem could be that I'm not getting the option to put out 6channel sound, only 2 or 8 channel. Since my system is Dolby 5.1, and I only have 6 speakers, I would have expected the 6ch option to be available. But I imagine there's more to it than that. Elsewhere someone has suggested playing with Remote Interactive over HD on an Onkyo device; I'll see if there's something similar on the Pioneer that can be changed. Any other suggestions welcome.

  • Sample rate off the audio input and out devices do not match - what to do?

This is fundamental, I know, but nevertheless I can't find my way around it. I get this error message when trying to recor:
Sample rate off the audio input and out devices do not match
and am asked to do this:
Use the appropriate operating system or audio device control panel to adjust the sample rates of the input and output devices to use the same settingt.
I have defined the sample rate to 44.1/16 bit in accordance with my inbuild soundcardt.
I am trying to record from LineIn.
When running on a M-Audio sound card I don't face any problems.
HP 8560W, sound card IDT/High definition audio Codec
    Any suggestions?

You're sure you have set BOTH the input and output settings to 44.1 16 bit?
Which version of Windows are you running?  There are a number of posts on this forum about how to fully access both the Windows Mixer and the Mixer for your soundcard.  Especially, you need to ensure that all "Windows Sounds" are turned OFF.
