M01061 USB DVI Adaptors issues displaying video and Browsers....

I have a pair of M01061 USB DVI Adaptors and they both connect fine to my Windows 7 laptop.
However, if I drag a Browser window, IE, Firefox, Chrome etc into a Lenovo adaptor monitor, the browser freezes. Same with any playing Videos. Dragging them back works fine.
Any ideas please?

which CPU do you have on your win 7 laptop (and how much RAM do you have)? also are you using them connected directly to the laptop or through dock/hub? Also what is the resolution of the screen you are supporting.
What you are saying is usually normal with the USB display adapter, this is a bandwidth issue and this problem gets worse on higher resolution LCD.

Macbook, Mini DVI to Composite/S-Video and Vizio 32" LCD. HELP: Resolution

So I bought this adapter to hook-up my LCD TV to the Macbook, and I cannot get the correct resolution for this TV.
"32" HD 1366 x 768 native LCD HDTV" is the Specs.
NOW, I did download SwitchResX, but was unsuccessful in registering the custom 1366 x 768 resolution, the LCD TV simply prompts: "No Signal"
Under 1280x768 the TV does work, but it looks blurry.

I just recently got a new laptop and transfered everything over and it seemed to be ok but now having issues playing videos and can't edit any of my song info in music files

I just got a new laptop so I had to transfer everything over and I thought everything would be ok but I'm having some strange issues especially with my purchased tv shows, movies, and music videos. They just wont play. Sometimes I'll get lucky and a tv show will play but if I stop it and try again it wont. If I open in Quicktime it works fine. The computer is authorized so that shouldnt be it especially if it plays in QT and like I said sometimes I'll get lucky and one will play. Now the other thing I just noticed is all my music files play fine but when opening and looking at the info of the music file I can't edit anything for example song title or artist the area seems shaded and won't let me do any editing. So I'm having those 2 issues. Video files not playing ones that I have purchased. movies, tv shows and music videos. Also like I said if I just sit there and click one after another I may get lucky and one will play but if I stop it and try again it will not play again. And I can't seem to edit any music file which play fine. I have a new Dell with windows 7 and I have never had this happen any help would be great. The computer is authorized for i tunes so it cant be that.

Right-click on your main iTunes folder and click Properties, then go to the Security tab and click Advanced. If necessary grant your account and system full control to this folder, subfolders and files, then tick the option to replace permissions on child objects which will repair permissions throughout the library. This is the XP dialog but Windows 7 shouldn't be too different.

Mac mini having issues with video and sound

all of the sudden my mac is having issues playing video or sound. videos or songs will start but only play for a second or two before freezing. This happens with videos on my mac, Youtube, spotify... pretty much across the board!

Well, I'd open Font Book, it's included with OSX, & see what it says for Validate & Duplicates.
I would also like to add I am new to Apple computers and I'm doing my best to stay up to par with whats what and understanding!

No calibration with USB- DVI adaptor?

I just bought a Startech USB2DVI.
I'm using a 17" Dell 1704FPT on this device.
After downloading/installing the driver software, I was pleased to find that everything pretty much worked as expected right out the gate. What a great little device. There's a bit of latency, but that's fine because its mostly for document viewing.
But there is one serious problem.
I wanted to adjust the color profile in the "displays" system prefs because the color/brightness on the Dell doesn't match my main monitor; it's still quite a bit too bright, even after turning the brightness all the way down on the Dell's control panel.
When I go to calibrate in the Mac Displays control panel by hitting the "calibrate" button, I find that none of the adjustments have any effect whatsoever on the monitor, whereas they do with my main monitor (Samsung 305T driven from main video card).
I am not getting them confused. The panel for the Samsung is on the Samsung and it works, the panel for the Dell is on the Dell display and it doesn't. The only difference is the brand of monitor and the fact that one is on a video card and the other is on the USB2DVI box. Even selecting a different monitor profile will immediately change the brightness and coloration of the Samsung, but not so with the Dell.
Interestingly, the monitor resolution is adjustable in the same control panel. At least that works.
Is it possible that monitor calibration will only work with a video card and is simply an unsupported feature with this USB2DVI converter? Do others, e.g., Geffen have the same issue?

Well that's depressing. A letter to tech support yielded the following. So if you use one of these devices, be forewarned, as most of these converters use the same rebranded chipset:
"Thank you for your inquiry. It appears that you are correct in thinking that the monitor calibration that you are using does not work with the chip in our display adapter. We do not currently have a work around for this issue. I apologize for any inconvenience this might cause. If you have any other concerns please let us know."

Macbook dvi adaptor issue

i have a older macbook and the screen is out but it works. I checked at the genius bar. I bought the mac dvi to avi pc adaptor and when i plug it into the external monitor all i get is the purple flash screen from the macbook but none of my icons or menu board. can you help me???

Can you see the desktop if you hold a flashlight on it? If you can then you have the display set in Extended Desktop mode. In System Preferences>Displays on the MacBook screen if you can see it you can move the Displays pane over to the other screen. There should be an Arrangement tab when you have the MacBook hooked up to the external monitor and both screens working. When you click the Arrangement tab do you see two monitors side by side? One of them will have a Menu Bar at the top. Just click onthe Menu Bar and drag it to the second monitor. That will make the second monitor your main screen. You can now use your MacBook in Clamshell Mode with a wired or Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3131
Or you can check the Mirror Display box on the lower left hand side of the Arrangement tab under the two monitors box to have the same display on both screens.

N210-MD1GD3H/LP Issues with video and audio lag / stutter - can't find cause?

After much searching I'm now posting to a forum for the first time. #newbie
I have an 'old' PC (wait - don't ignore me yet...) and I thought that 'helping' it out with a low spec graphics card and a USB audio card would make everything nice for general web browsing and watching online content. The PC was bought second-hand (stay with me....!) with Windows 7 but I thought that the CPU was struggling as I was getting the video lag etc, so I re-installed XP SP3. Initially after install everything looked fine but a few days later and the troubles were back.
The issues I now have are very choppy / stutter / lag on watching things like YouTube and iplayer, and playing DVDs. At the moment there is no sound for the DVDs.
I don't know whether it is:
1. Video card / MOBO incompatibility.
2. Audio incompatibility (USB adapter vs video card vs onboard)
3. MOBO lacking power / processing speed.
4. another...

USB-C to mini display port and thunderbolt apple displays

I currently have a 24 in late 2008 Apple Cinema Display connected to a 2008 MacBook. This particular display has a three pronged connector (MagSafe, mini DisplayPort, conventional USB). I am thinking of upgrading to the new MacBook but am concerned about the compatibility with my display. Will there be an adapter or solution to connect the USB-C port to the three pronged connector of the apple Cinema Display? I see that USB-C port has support for hdmi, VGA, and standard display port but I see nothing about Mini DisplayPort or MagSafe. There is also no mention of thunderbolt dislay connectivity (for newer adopters of Apple displays). I understand innovation often comes at a price but it seems like a fairly large oversight to potentially obsolete fairly expensive larger apple Mini DisplayPort and thunderbolt devices for people who are looking to upgrade. This will certainly factor into my decision in purchasing new apple laptops in the future, especially if the standard inevitably moves toward USB-C on all devices. Thanks for any help!

The MacBook USB-C connector does support DisplayPort, so there may be a future adapter that would avoid the HDMI conversion.

Issues with Video and Sound

Hello all. I am having an issue with my MacBook Pro. This issue travelled from 10.4 to 10.5 to 10.6 with me. The install from 10.4 to 10.5 was a clean install. I messed around with the video card a long time ago back in 10.4 through a boot camp windows 7 partition trying to get a game to work. I don't remember for sure if the problem started right after that or not, but I'm thinking probably. Basically I was trying to reflash the video card to get a game to work in a beta version of windows 7.
My main issue is that videos are laggy and jump and freeze and such. This happens on anything from a YouTube video to Quicktime to VLC. Also, the sound will frequently freak out and become "robotic" and skip a lot as well. If I leave it alone and don't play anything with sound, it will return to normal after a random amount of time. Restarting also fixes the issue. This usually only happens when playing video, but every once in a while will happen in iTunes when just listening to music.
I guess I need to know if there is a way to "reset" the video card or graphics card or whatever. The audio too if need be.

Make sure you have the latest versions of VLC, Flip4Mac, Perian and Adobe Flash Player.
Boot from your install disc & run Repair Disk from the utility menu. To use the Install Mac OS X disc, insert the disc, and restart your computer while holding down the C key as it starts up.
Select your language.
Once on the desktop, select Utility in the menu bar.
Select Disk Utility.
Select the disk or volume in the list of disks and volumes, and then click First Aid.
Click Repair Disk.
Restart your computer when done.

Please help with several issues-Pictures, Videos and More.

I'm on my 3rd iPhone4 in 48 days. A few weeks ago I switched to ATT from Sprint and the EVO because my Company forced me too (they pay for my line). I have a bunch of issues. I won't get into the poor reception and dropped data connection since this is a hardware problem. Ok, when I take pictures and send in an email they don't send straight. Even is I rotate then and save that way when I attach the picture it's not straight. This also happens with video. If I send in a text they are correct. If anyone has tried a Samsung Galaxy S I would like feedback on that too. Probably a long shot in an iPhone forum but I am desperate. I'm not pleased with this phone. I may have to return it.

The ATT rep has visited our work twice. Several us have had issues. He told us we would be able to return our phones even after the 30 days because of all the service tickets open on our phones. If we wanted to move to something else we would just pay the difference. So if I wanted to change to the GalaxyS it wouldn't cost me a thing since it's $199 which I paid for my iPhone. For some reason when I double tap the space bar for a period most of the time it types the letter B. Why is this?

USB Wireless adaptor issues

I purchased an Asus USB-N13 wireless adaptor. I'm running a PowerPC G5, 10.5.8. I just ran Software update yesterday.
I installed the driver, that software says I'm connected to our wireless network with good strength.
I open Safari or Firefox, and those tell me "I'm not connected to the internet".
The aggravating thing is a guy from work took it home, installed it, and everything worked fine.
In Network Prefs, it sees the USB device, and all looks well.
Any ideas?

Multiple Issues With Video and Pictures

Ok trying to find out what happened with my Blackberry Curve. Friday night I was able to record videos, had pictures on my camera and ringtones. Saturday morning I woke up (phone was never plugged into a computer and still has not been) and the whenever I try to record a video I get the errror
"To record a video, insert formatted media card".
I am also getting the error when I try to press the "Voice Command" button on the side "Unable to allocate memory. Close other applications and try again"
And I also have been getting the error from time to time "A Media Card has been inserted that contains errors. To correct the errors, please use a disk error-checking utility on a computer.
The problem is I just have my regular Sim Card and never bought a media card. I have just the normal sim card in my phone. Any suggestions on what may be causing these errors.

And I forgot to mention, when I woke up Saturday, my pictures were gone, my ringtones were gone and the videos I did have were gone

Flash Video and Browsers

I have a Flash video FLV file embedded in my site and
published.
Curiously when I look at it in Fire Fox browser everything
works fine but when I look at it in Internet Explorer, after a few
times go back to look at the video again many of the links stop
working.
What is the difference between FireFox and Internet Explorer?
Both have Flash player 9 installed of course.
And in the Internet Explorer I am able to see the video as
well. Just links stop work after for a while.
I have changed the amount of disk space to use for temporary
files from 50 Mb to 200 Mb in Internet explorer.
It does not make any difference.
Can anybody give me some idea please.

Display Arrangement and Browsers

Can someone explain to me how to allow a browser (Chrome in this instance) to have an open window on two different displays (one on MacBook and the other my HDTV) AND when I work on the one on the MacBook, the one on the TV running Netflix to stays in full screen mode.
I used to get a window popping up on my laptop asking me this very question in other words and apparently my better half decided to check the box not to ask the question again. I would like to find that window again and uncheck it from getting out of full screen.

I answered my question; it took me a while to make the correct query and realize it was a Silverlight problem. I upgraded the version and now it stays full screen on the second monitor automatically; this feature was not standard in version 3x, it is in 4x as far as I can tell.
