M1536 Windows 8.1 recognizes printer but not scanner

I just bought a new computer that runs Windows 8.1 64 bit. The computer immediately recognized my printer which is plugged into the router (as is my computer), but not the scanner. I found the software it came with and tried to install it and receiveda "fatal error" with no error code. I tried to download the software from hp's site, and when installing received the same error.How can I get the computer to recognize the scanner?Thanks,

Hi, Default basic driver from Windows allows you to print. You need to install full feature software and driver on new computer to be able to use full functions of your multi-fuction printer (or AIO printer). Hi , and I see you are both having trouble scanning after upgrading to Windows 10, and I may be able to help. Most products do have updated software available on HP's support website for Windows 10. I've also seen a few posts that say the Windows 8.1 driver will work for Windows 10 as well, so you could try that too. HP provides a free tool called HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems. I recommend downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor, if it doesn't fix it automatically let me know what errors or messages you receive. Do you know if you are able to scan using Paint? My Hp Officejet Pro 8500 will print but not anything with black ink - i have checked the black ink cartridge and it is full. Whenever i print anything in colour (only option) the printer goes into an alignment/maintenace loop that lasts for a long time and does not fix the problem. What should I do?

Clean your printerhesd 4-5 times until the black fully restores. I am on my third complete cleaning and have gone from 0% black to approx. 60-70%. So, it works just takes time.

Thanks for the update.
If you can scan with the HP software then at least we know the system can see the scanner.
Can you try the organizer to see if that works any differently. Once you load the organizer, go to the Edit menu and select Preferences -> Scanner - see if that sees it.
Since you are on Elements 12, you still have the twain option available to try. See the following document which describes moving the twain driver.

F-58 Error. vendor name printed but not Alternative payee

_Vendor name printed but not the name i entered in Individual set_
I followed Thread vendor name changed at the time of taking cheque printing
I made the below Transaction
1. I made the changes in vendor master under the head Payment transaction tab, in Alternative payer in document i selected check box of Individual entries
2. Posted in FB60 vendor invoice under payment tab check box Individual payee is selected, i entered alternative name so that check is printed in this name
3.In payment F-58 post & print i selected open item for payment after simulation i saved .The check is printed as per the
Name in Vendor master data but not the name i entered in Individ.setin fb60
I am not able to make to make payment, guide me

I entered the bank details in the individual payee while entering FB60, the name coming in indiviid .set
In F-58 I made simulation Pk 50 QNB -Checks Payable & PK 25 vendor name, when i double click on the 2nd line item i found the name what mentioned in the Individ.set
I saved the transaction but the check was printed in the name of vendor master but not in the name i entered in indiviid set
Help me out to get the check printed in the individ set

I bought a new USB super drive for a MacPro retina. It recognizes CDs but not DVDs. I am in region 1 and my DVDs are all region 1. This is the second drive so the problem seems to be in the computer. The problem is the same with battery power or AC adaptor. I downloaded Adobe flash before I bought the USD super drive. Could this be the problem? Any suggestions? Thanks.

Driver question - my all in one printer will print but not scan

I have an HP c4280 (you know, the all in one printer you could get for free with the mail in rebate in 2007). I just plug it in and my mac recognizes it as a printer, and it prints fine, but image capture does not recognize it as a scanner. Before I upgraded to leopard I had all of HP's stupid software installed but after upgrading to leopard it didn't work (surprise). A lot of other things didn't work either so I did an erase and install and now everything works beautifully (I feel like I have old Tiger back, but better). However, I do not want to install HP's stupid overbloated and highly unnecessary mountain of software on my nice new clean system (I have turned into kind of an apple-only purist I guess ^_^). I checked HP's website and all they have is the same ginormous software bundle for download, and the installation wizard does not allow the option to install only components of the software (its all 28 programs or nothing). So, my question is, does anybody know where I can find only the driver I need (or WHAT driver I need) to make this printer compatible with image capture so I can scan?

You need to download the full featured driver from the HP site, and it also seems HP has an update for the Leopard installation as well.

USB1 Recognizes iPod But Not USB2

Hi,
I have a Dell laptop with WindowsXP installed. As far as I know my USB2 ports are all properly configured and working correctly. But, for some reason, when my USB2 is enabled, my computer doesn't recognize my (4thGen) iPod.
In order to update the iPod, I have to first disable my USB2, then everything works fine, albeit, at a much slower pave than USB2 (obviously.)\
Has anyone else had this similar problem? And, if so, any answers as to how to correct it?

I was milling around some other posts and tried all the suggestions I could find pertaining to this general issue (changing drive letter of iPod; removing all the USB ports, then re-starting the laptop; purchased an external powered USB2 hub; etc. - all to no avail.
I'm now wondering if, perhaps, this might be a hardware issue, perhaps some type of conflict pertaining to the manufacturer of my USB2 Controller? ( Intel(R)82801/FB/FBM USB2 Enhanced Host Controller -265C )

Again, everything is fine and dandy if I disable the USB2 controller (above), then update, etc. the iPOd in the USB1-mode, but not OK when the USB2 is enabled.

MY I POD really headache.
First is device drivers install keep fail and when the day of success then I tunes never detect it.
i can see my Ipod at my DEVICE & PRINTER but when i go MY COMPUTER & I TUNES nothing appear.
I tried almost all way i can search online but to no results or maybe i do it wrongly also i will never realised it because all the ways to solve the problem are very complicating.
Add on to it, i left my ipod few month never use so when i plan to bring it out i realised the ios started to react slow.EXAMPLE: i slide on the screen, basically the shortest time it take to react almost like 5 second. so i planned to restore to factory setting but who know, my ipod seem not friendly with my notebook. And worst part is that warranty is expired.

You might be able to redownload them on your computer's iTunes via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage, or by going into Edit > Preferences (iTunes > Preferences on a Mac) and on the Store tab ticking the 'show iTunes in the cloud purchases' tickbox, the music that you can redownload will then show in the My Music part of your library with a cloud icon against them for redownloading.

HP Photosmart 7510 - I can print but not scan

I bought my HP Photosmart a few months ago. It worked fine, and I could print wirelessly from my desktop to the printer, and I could scan from the printer to the desktop computer. In fact, last week I was able to scan.
Today, I wanted to scan something, and I could choose my computer in the list, but got the message that I needed to connect my computer to the printer. I checked what might be wrong, but everything looked okay. I downloaded the scan doctor, and received the message that DeviceSetup.exe could not be found. Which is odd, because when I look in the map, the file is there. I then rebooted the printer, which didn't work. Then I tried to reinstall the drivers on the hp website for my printer, but again got the message that DeviceSetup.exe could not be found.
Next, I removed the printer completely from the computer, reinstalled, and still had the same issue. Except this time in the list to scan to a computer, my desktop is no longer there and I get the message that "on windows, scan to computer will automatically be activated" (I'm translating from Dutch, so in English it could be slightly differently worded).
I retried the scan doctor, and this time I received the message that DeviceSetupLauncher.exe couldn't be found. Again, this is in the directory where it should be. I can see it in the map, but when I click on it, I again get the same notice!
Needless to say, I'm at a loss as to what I could do to fix it. The file I need is right there, but my computer acts like it's not. I'm a student and really need my printer. So I'd be very grateful for any advice on how to fix this problem!

HP Office Pro 8600- Print works, but not scanner

The scanner was working fine last week but all of a sudden it will not scan.It acts like it is going to scan but then does not. My assoicate is using the same machine without a problem scanning. Print & Scan Doc says there is not a problem, but there is. Need some help, thanks

Since you associate is using the same printer with no issue, I suspect the issue is some how related to the computer you are using. Please complete the following steps and let me know the outcome;
Hold down the Windows Logo key () on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the run box, type %temp%
Delete all files and folders from the temp folder. Choose skip if any pop ups appear saying any of the files could not be deleted
Uninstall the software again - Uninstalling the Printer Software Instructions
When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
Follow these steps to reset the registry settings and options for Windows Installer.
Hold down the Windows Logo key on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the run box
In the Open box, type msiexec /unregister, and then click OK.
Hold down the Windows Logo key on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the run box
